LISTEN: AFTAH Interviews FRC’s Peter Sprigg – Part Two

Sunday, June 24th, 2012

The following is Part Two of our interview with Peter Sprigg [click HERE to listen], Senior Fellow in Policy Studies at the Family Research Council. This was recorded June 21, 2012. [Go HERE for Part One and HERE for the archive section containing all AFTAH interviews.] Sprigg goes into further analysis of the Mark Regnerus study on homosexual parenting. He and AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera and Grace Gospel Fellowship pastor John Kirkwood also discuss the radical decision by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan not to defend the state’s marriage law.

CORRECTION note from program: In the beginning of this interview, there is a discussion of egregious, pro-homosexual media bias, focusing on CNN’s Soledad O’Brien. In the first of two CNN clips, we play O’Brien interviewing Dr. Fred Luter, the new — and first African American — president of the Southern Baptist Convention. LaBarbera mistakenly attributes a quote by libertarian Republican Margaret Hoover, another guest on the progam, to O’Brian. As you can see from the CNN clip HERE, it is Hoover, not O’Brien, who refers to homosexuality (“inclusiveness of gay Americans”) as “a new civil rights issue.” Then O’Brien condescendingly instructs Luter that his position on homosexual “marriage” puts him in “direct opposition to President Obama.” We apologize for the error.

HOW TO LISTEN: This is an mp3 file, supported in most operating systems by Windows Media Player, Quick Time and/or I-Tunes.  Real Player is not supported and there may be difficulty when attempting to listen with it.  Left click once on the link below to play. (Please be patient, depending upon the speed of your internet connection it may take a moment or two to load.)  OR right click the link then “save target as” to download the whole show.

‘Gay’ Activists at Obama’s White House LGBT Reception Take Photos of Themselves Flipping off Reagan Portrait

Saturday, June 23rd, 2012

Reagan-hating lesbians make out in front of Gipper portrait

Excerpted from The Blaze, June 22, 2012:

Gay activists from Philadelphia posed for pictures while giving the middle finger to a portrait of former President Ronald Reagan during a recent trip to the White House, according to Philadelphia Magazine:

The above is a composite of three separate photos of homosexual activists mugging for the camera while expressing contempt for the portraits of Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, at a recent "gay pride" reception at the White House. The activists are Matthew "Matty" Hart, left, Mark Segal, center, and Zoe Strauss, right. The image source is blog.phillymag.com.

From phillymag.com:

Last Friday, an attaché of important gay people from Philadelphia made a trip to Washington D.C. as invited guests of President Barack Obama for the White House’s first-ever gay pride reception….some of them took advantage of photo opportunities to give the late President Ronald Reagan the middle finger “It’s not a gesture that I would use in the White House when representing our city and our community,” opines Philadelphia Gay News publisher Mark Segal (center), who opted for a sarcastic thumbs-up pose in front of the portrait of George W. Bush over the more vulgar one demonstrated by his Reagan-loathing peers, Matthew “Matty” Hart (left), the national director of public engagement at Solutions for Progress, and self-taught photographer turned toast-of-the-town Zoe Strauss (right).

[…]

But his counterparts couldn’t seem to care less. Hart posted his photo on Facebook with the caption, “F–k Reagan.” [Zoe] Strauss simply posted hers without commentary. After all, the murderous facial expression and double-barreled bird-flipping seem to speak for themselves. Comments ranged from “you forgot to add with a chainsaw” on Hart’s “F–k Reagan” note, to my personal favorite, “star wars … up yours,” on Strauss’s.

Illinois St. Rep. David Reis Objects to Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s Support of Lawsuits Promoting ‘Gay Marriage’

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

Folks, it is pretty pathetic but I believe Rep. David Reis is the only Illinois Republican lawmaker to put out a press release (below) in opposition to Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s (D) unprecedented decision NOT to defend the state’s law defining marriage as one-man, one-woman, but rather to support two pro-homosexual lawsuits to overturn it. Hopefully the dysfunctional IL-GOP and the state’s conservatives and Christians will wake up before it is too late and Illinois has homosexual “marriage” imposed on it by judicial fiat, like its neighbor to the West. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

Press Release, Office of St. Rep. David Reis

June 08, 2012

Olney, IL.–State Representative David Reis (R-Ste. Marie) is calling upon Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan to recuse herself and the resources of her taxpayer-funded state office from supporting two lawsuits questioning the constitutionality of Illinois’ gay marriage ban.

“As Attorney General, it is her office’s duty to support the Illinois Constitution. Statutorily, it has been long established in Illinois that marriage is between a man and a woman,” Reis said. “Madigan’s use of scarce taxpayer resources is an injustice to the oath of office she swore to uphold.”

Attorney General Lisa Madigan stated her office would not defend the state’s marriage definition by law, saying her office will “present the court with arguments that explain why the challenged statutory provisions do not satisfy the guarantee of equality under the Illinois Constitution.”

“The current statutory definition banning gay marriage in Illinois does not violate Illinoisans constitutional rights. In fact, it is just the opposite,” Reis said. “Allowing gay marriage in Illinois would violate our citizens’ religious freedoms by forcing religions to recognize marriages not in accordance with their beliefs.”

Philadelphia ‘Gay Pride’ Parade and Festival Attended by Many Children Feature Lewd Acts, Porn Booth, Sadomasochists

WARNING: Offensive Images Inappropriate for Children

By Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH Exclusive

Out-and-proud gender confusion on display for the kiddos. Drag queen marches in “Philly Pride” parade. Click on all photos to view enlarged.

The following are some photos taken at Philadelphia’s homosexual (“Gay”) Pride Parade and “PrideDay” festival Sunday, June 10, 2012, by this reporter for Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). The Philly parade and the festival at Penn’s Landing that followed it were small compared to much larger homosexual “pride” parades and festivals in cities like Chicago and San Francisco — but both events were attended by many young children. I witnessed dozens of children from the very young to teenagers marching in the parade and there were also many observing it from the side streets.

Perhaps even some of AFTAH’s homosexual critics would admit that the scenes depicted below are not appropriate for children. Yet more than ever, in major cities across the country, children are a common sight at “gay pride” parades and festivals — as “proud” homosexual parents bring their children to these libidinous celebrations of sexual sin and gender confusion. [Permission is granted to use any photo provided that credit is given to “Americans For Truth About Homosexuality; www.americansfortruth.org.” Direct questions to: americansfortruth@gmail.com.]

We have blocked the eyes of all the young children shown in our photos; click on photos to view in enlarged format:

Would you even consider taking YOUR children to a parade where behavior like this occurs — and worse, letting them march in it? These go-go boys were grinding against each other on the top of a float:

DoD Holds First-ever Pro-Homosexal Celebration: ‘Pentagon Pride’ Is America’s Shame

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

George Washington must be rolling over in his grave. The Pentagon under Commander-in-Chief Obama is on its way to becoming the world’s largest “gay pride” agency. Behold another tragic “first” for Obama: the first-ever homosexual “pride” celebration at the Department of Defense (Tuesday, June 26, 2012). Note how the organizers of “Pentagon Pride” slipped in “transgender” pride even though transgenders were not part of the law to homosexualize the military.

In reality, homosexuality and gender confusion are nothing to be proud of. Now, thanks to Obama and the Democrats (and some Republicans), our young military men and women will be force-fed the lie that homosexuality is “who you are,” like civil rights. And if history is our guide, LGBT activists will continue to agitate for greater and more prominent recognition of their aberrant lifestyles, at the taxpayers’ expense–using the military to grow their power. It is never good when noble institutions are used to promote moral corruption, which is why “Pentagon Pride” brings shame to our Armed Forces, and to America. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

Erie, Illinois Elementary School Board Defies Pro-‘Gay’ Political Correctness, Rejects GLSEN Curriculum

The pro-homosexuality "The Family Book," by Todd Parr.

By Laurie Higgins, Illinois Family Institute, June 11, 2012

Take ACTION:  Click HERE to offer words of encouragement and support to the School Board President Charles Brown and Superintendent Bradley Cox, who you can bet your bottom dollar will be on the receiving end of vicious attacks from the advocates of “tolerance.”

NOTE: Click HERE to read Higgins previous article, “GLSEN’s Outrageous Elementary School Toolkit”

____________________________

There’s a remarkable news story coming out of Erie, Illinois. A wise and courageous school board has voted to remove a homosexuality-affirming picture book titled The Family Book from its elementary school library. Further, it has voted to remove all materials created by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a partisan advocacy group committed to using public schools, including elementary schools, to advance their moral, political, and ontological beliefs.

The Family Book was written by homosexual author Todd Parr and recommended by GLSEN. The “Alternatives to Marriage Project” highly recommends The Family Book for managing “both to naturalize and celebrate family diversity” and describes it as a favorite “among the toddler set.” “Naturalize” seems an ironic choice of words to describe a book that includes types of “parental” relationships that are unnatural and, by design, sterile. The “Alternatives to Marriage Project” is a group committed to “equality and fairness” for “same sex couples and those in relationships of more than two people.”

Treating homosexuality and heterosexuality as equivalent is not a neutral position

Educators, parents, and other taxpayers need to understand that treating homosexuality as equivalent to heterosexuality does not reflect a neutral ideological position. Treating homosexuality as equivalent to heterosexuality is a leftist position. Believing that homosexuality and heterosexuality are morally and ontologically equivalent is a controversial, unproven belief that public schools — particularly elementary schools — have no ethical right or obligation to promulgate.

Leftists try to make the case that including books that treat homosexuality positively reflects ideological neutrality and balance since there are already so many books that depict heterosexuality positively. But that argument is based on prior acceptance of yet another Leftist assumption, which is that homosexuality is simply the flip side of the sexuality coin. It’s not. Homosexuality is a disordering of the sexual impulse.

Linda Harvey: Don’t Get Married – Get Even

How ‘non-discrimination’ laws are used to discriminate against people of faith

First published by WorldNetDaily, June 15, 2012; this is the first half of Linda’s column; read the whole column on WND HERE:

Linda Harvey

By Linda Harvey

Relatively few self-identified homosexuals get “married,” even when same-sex unions become legal. But perhaps that was never the main point anyway.   Respectability is what they are seeking. But to achieve this goal for behaviors that never can be intrinsically respectable, the power to massage the truth and to silence opponents is critical. How do you gain power? Restrict the rights of your enemies to express an opinion opposing homosexuality and same-sex “marriage.”

The most destructive weapons deployed to this end are sexual-orientation and gender-identity “non-discrimination” laws. The Senate just held its first hearings on ENDA, the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and many states and municipalities continue to be confronted with this unneeded legislation. As they hear the pleas about someone being fired “just for being ‘gay’ or ‘transgender,’” politicians would be wise to review the history.

Such policies routinely clobber people of faith who don’t agree with same-sex “marriage” or with the open expression of this behavior in the workplace, in schools and in public accommodations, by people who often lack good sense and good judgment. The cost of disagreement? Just your job, your reputation, your bank account and/or your religious liberty.

And we know where the “Gay”-Activist-in-Chief stands on religious freedom, right? Obama is leading the charge on restroom rights for radicals as well. June is once again “Pride” month, and the White House issued a glowing proclamation of support for this noble cause, which Obama thinks is “stronger than hate.” So there you have it.

Illinois Marriage Law Under Assault: Higgins on Rationale for Defending Natural Marriage

Tuesday, June 19th, 2012

AG Lisa Madigan supports ACLU/homosexual lawsuits against the law she is supposed to defend

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan with homosexual activist Art Johnston at a 2007 homosexual activist fundraising banquet in Chicago. This photo appears on the Illinois Attorney General's website. Click on graphic to enlarge.

This is an important essay by my friend Laurie Higgins of Illinois Family Institute (IFI) — and not just for those of us living in Illinois. Following the lead of President Obama, Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has abandoned the rule of law to kowtow to the desires of the ACLU and homosexual activists — a departure from her sworn law enforcement duties so extreme that it even shocked homosexual activists (see below). Lisa Madigan — daughter of House Speaker Mike Madigan (D), the most powerful politician in the state– is a longtime political ally of the homosexual lobby in Chicago (see graphic).

IFI and the Thomas More Society will be working with Alliance Defense Fund to defend the existing Illinois Marriage Law that Madigan and other top officeholders (all Democrats) refuse to defend. The following is an excellent primer on the public policy rationale for defending natural marriage, the misapplication of “civil rights” arguments to the homosexual “marriage” issue, and the difference between past discrimination based on race and that necessary legal distinctions based on volitional homosexual conduct. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

Marriage Law Under Assault in Illinois

By Laurie Higgins, Illinois Family Institute | June 18, 2012

Lambda Legal in cahoots with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Illinois are suing the Cook County Clerk for purportedly violating the Constitution of Illinois when Cook County refused to issue marriage licenses to men who sought to marry men and women who sought to marry women. To make matters worse, these ethically challenged Illinois leaders have all expressed support for the lawsuit: Governor Patrick Quinn, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez, and Cook County Clerk David Orr.

Lambda Legal is a homosexual legal organization hell-bent on using the judicial system to bypass the will of the people in order to impose its subversive sexuality theories on the entire country. This is the organization that shoved same-sex marriage down the throats of Iowans, which, not incidentally, brought the electoral defeat of those judges who threw their lots in with Lambda Legal.
