VIDEO: Dr. Michael Brown Condemns Pastor Steven Anderson Who Sees Some ‘Good News’ in Islamic Terrorist’s Massacre of Orlando Homosexuals

Dear AFTAH Readers,

I wholeheartedly agree with my friend, Dr. Michael Brown–recipient of 2014 AFTAH Truth Teller Award–who makes some compelling points in this video condemning Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe, Arizona. Pastor Anderson, as you can see in this Vimeo video, says there is an upside to the slaughter of 49 people at the homosexual “Pulse” bar in Orlando, Florida–in that “there’s 50 less pedophiles in this world.”

As you can see around the 4:10 mark below, Anderson does not condone vigilantism but says that the Orlando victims “all should have been killed anyway, by a righteous government”–i.e., executed by the state (citing Leviticus 20:13). I love Mike’s point: isn’t it odd that nobody–either “death penalty” advocates on the right or “gay” activists looking to exploit the issue on the Left–talks about executing adulterers, even though that is found in the Bible in Lev. 20:10? [more analysis follows video after jump]

It is worth noting, and I think Dr. Brown would agree, that the far more widespread sin in the Christian Church these days–compared to the overly harsh approach represented by Anderson or Ted Shoebat–is an attitude that is too tolerant and cavalier toward homosexual behavior (and by extension, sexual sin in general).

Then there are the self-styled Christians who, in the name of love, embrace apostasy by incorporating pro-“gay” ideology into their theology. Sinful self-interest is also a factor: see the blog of former “ex-gay” leader Randy Thomas, who defected away from biblical truth, re-came out as “gay,” and preposterously claimed to have a “boyfriend” as a faithful “Christian.”

It is challenging but we must always seek God’s help in telling the Truth about homosexualism, in the love of Jesus!

Here is Brown’s and Charisma magazine’s description of the video:

Devastation feels like the only appropriate word for the tragedy that struck Orlando over the weekend.

Yet some pastors, like Steven Anderson and Roger Jimenez, have fired off comments that claim the massacre of 49 at a gay nightclub was “good news.”

They’re wrong, says Dr. Michael Brown.

“I absolutely, categorically renounce these words as contrary to the Bible,” he says in a new video.
