What President Obama calls an “obscure line” in the New Testament Book of Romans condemning homosexual behavior is not obscure at all. In fact, in Scripture the proliferation of homosexual sin is a key sign of the downfall of a culture. The following is the culmination of key passage in Romans describing mankind’s descent into wickedness. We read in 1:18: “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness.” The passage continues as men stopped glorifying God “but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” The downward spiral into idolatry (1:22-23) continues:

[24] Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. [25] They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

[26] Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. [27] In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. 

The following are the study notes for the NIV (New International Version) Study Bible on Romans’ “God gave them over” verses, 1:24, 1:26, and 1:28:

God gave them over. God allowed sin to run its course as an act of judgment.

Here is the NIV Study Bible (Zondervan 10th Anniv. edition: 1995) note on Romans 1:27:

 Homosexual practice is sinful in God’s eyes. The OT [Old Testament] condemns the practice. (see Leviticus 18:22).

Old Testament prohibitions

Here is the passage in the Old Testament Book of Leviticus (18:21-23), proscribing homosexual acts (v. 22). Note that it is sandwiched between the detestable act of sacrificing one’s children to the Ammonite god of Molech, and committing bestiality. (Seen any Bestiality Pride parades lately?) Earlier in the chapter are a series of condemnations of incest and adultery (emphasis added):

[21] “‘Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molech, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.

[22] “‘Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

[23] “‘Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.”

Here is the NIV Study Bible note introducing the section in Leviticus on unlawful sexual relations (Chs. 18-20), followed by the notes on Lev. 18:21 and 18:22:

Lev. 18:1-20:27.  Here God’s people are given instructions concerning interpersonal relations and a morality reflecting God’s holiness. Israel was thereby prepared for a life different from the Canaanites, whose life-style was deplorably immoral. Ch. 18 contains prohibitions in the moral sphere, ch. 19 expands the Ten Commandments to detail correct morality, and ch. 20 assesses the penalties for violating God’s standard of morality. …

Lev. 18:21.  Molech. The god of the Ammonites (see 20:2-5; 1 Kings 11:5 and note). The detestable practice of sacrificing children to Molech was common in Phoenicia and other surrounding countries. Cf. 1 Kings 3:26-27. King Manasseh evidently sacrificed his sons to Molech (2Ch 33:6; see 2Kings 23:10). Jer. 32:35 protest the practice.

Lev. 18:22.   lie with a man. See 20:13, where the penalty for homosexual acts is death.

Gay ‘Marriage’: Bad Science, Bad Politics

Legislation is presently pending in the New Jersey state legislature to approve same-sex “marriage.” There is a strong effort by gay activists and their allies to push such a bill through the legislature rather than asking the citizens of the state to vote for its approval. Because informed public policy decisions should be based on rational judgment grounded in fact rather than fiction, it is helpful to review a few of the key considerations relevant to this debate.

Nearly every argument favoring same-sex “marriage” is based on the belief that homosexual orientation is inborn and immutable. Thus, the argument often is made that just as interracial marriage gained approval so, too, should gay “marriage.”

But sexual orientation is not like skin color; it is not genetic. An avowed lesbian, Dr. Anne Fausto-Sterling, professor of developmental biology and gender studies at Brown University, admits “[Although the claim that homosexuality is genetic] provides a legal argument that is, at the moment, actually having some sway in court, [f]or me, it’s a very shaky place. It’s bad science and bad politics.”

No genetic earmark distinguishing homosexuals from heterosexuals has ever been identified. Homosexuals and heterosexuals are genetically indistinguishable. As stated in a British medical journal, “From an evolutionary perspective, genetically determined homosexuality would have become extinct long ago because of reduced reproduction.”

Indeed, taking the question further, more than 100 scientific studies indicate that change of sexual orientation is possible for many motivated individuals. The father of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (the Bible of psychiatry), Dr. Robert Spitzer, changed his own lifetime view. He published a study in 2003 confirming that many dissatisfied homosexuals are able to make substantial long-term changes in orientation.

Another premise of the same-sex “marriage” debate claims homosexual coupling involves stable, long-term relationships equivalent to heterosexual marriages. Drs. David McWhirter and Andrew Mattison, both openly homosexual, studied 156 male couples who had lived together for 20 years or more. To their dismay, they found that the longest period of sexual monogamy for those couples was five years; the average was under two years.

Within the gay subculture, the concept of monogamy is simply not synonymous with sexual exclusivity. Gay activist Andrew Sullivan writes: “homosexuals have a need for extramarital outlets.” Lesbian writer Camille Paglia notes how gay magazines glamorize “the bigger bang of sex with strangers” and advocate “monogamy without fidelity” in same-sex couplings.

The instability of same-sex relationships and prevalence of polyamory cannot be attributed to social discrimination or “homophobia.” During the 1990s many gay-affirming countries legalized same-sex “marriage.” The instability of homosexual relationships, however, remained unchanged. For example, a 2003 Dutch study found the average male homosexual partnership lasted only 1.5 years (Compare that figure to a CDC U.S. study of heterosexual marriages showing 50 percent of heterosexual marriages lasting 15 years or more.) Similarly, a 2004 Swedish study found that homosexual unions had a 50-percent higher divorce rate than heterosexual unions.

Inherent health risks of the gay lifestyle present another issue. Life expectancy for men who have sex with men, according to a 1997 International Journal of Epidemiology study is eight to 20 years less than that of heterosexual men. There is also a higher rate of intimate partner violence between same-sex couples.

Higher parent mortality and promiscuity increased rates of domestic violence and greater rates of divorce are not healthy for children. Consequently, acceptance of gay “marriage” requires a disregard for the best interests of children. It follows logically that if marriage is defined merely by “who we love” regardless of what is in the best interest of children, then the government has no right to discriminate against those with other sexual orientations including orientations toward children or animals. This is why advocates of pedophilia, group “marriage,” bestiality and incest cite gay “marriage” victories as their own. It is also no coincidence that within 10 years of legalizing same-sex “marriage” every Scandinavian country legalized polygamy.

Clearly, New Jersey has an interest in promoting and protecting traditional marriage. Decades of research demonstrate that children fare best physically, emotionally, and academically when nurtured by a married mother and father. Fatherless families, in particular, are associated with higher rates of violence, poverty, delinquency, substance abuse, sexual promiscuity, and teen pregnancy, all of which cause an increase in tax dollars required to fund remedial social programs. Clearly, if Americans want to improve the economic health of our nation and maximize the well-being of our children, traditional marriage must be strengthened.

The European experience, however, demonstrates that same-sex “marriage” weakens the institution overall. Every Scandinavian nation legalizing same-sex “marriage,” for example, has seen an unremitting decline in traditional marriage rates, and a surge in cohabitation and out of wedlock births. Predictably, the cost of social programs in those countries has risen sharply.

To summarize, homosexuality is not genetic like skin color. Interracial marriage never changed the definition of marriage; marriage remained the exclusive and faithful union of one man and one woman. Defending traditional marriage is not bigotry. Defending traditional marriage protects the greater common good for everyone — including those with homosexual attractions.

The Los Angeles Times reports today:

One of the highest-ranking federal judges in the United States, who is currently presiding over an obscenity trial in Los Angeles, has maintained his own publicly accessible website featuring sexually explicit photos and videos.

Alex Kozinski, chief judge of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, acknowledged in an interview with The Times that he had posted the materials, which included a photo of naked women on all fours painted to look like cows and a video of a half-dressed man cavorting with a sexually aroused farm animal. Some of the material was inappropriate, he conceded, although he defended other sexually explicit content as “funny.”

Kozinski, 57, said that he thought the site was for his private storage and that he was not aware the images could be seen by the public, although he also said he had shared some material on the site with friends. After the interview Tuesday evening, he blocked public access to the site….

It seems that just about everyone has weighed in for his or her say now that homosexual activist Frank Kameny says that bestiality is OK if the animal approves.

Everyone that is other than the Ingrid Newkirk-led People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

In Kameny’s book bestiality is termed as “a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people. So as long as the animal doesn’t mind, I don’t mind, and I don’t see why anyone else should.”

Peter LaBarbera, of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), who wants PETA to live up to the promise in its name, “the ethical treatment of animals”, has e-mailed the animal rights group for its opinion on bestiality being “OK if the animal approves.”

“They’re the people who stand for the ethical treatment of animals,” LaBarbera told Canada Free Press in a telephone interview last night. “I am hoping for a response to my e-mail, and hoping that they take a public stand against bestiality.”

Richard, a frequent homosexual critic of Americans For Truth, writes us regarding “gay rights” icon Frank Kameny’s assertion that bestiality — sex with animals — is OK “as long as the animal doesn’t mind.” The question that Richard described as “silly” below refers to this line in our piece: “We have many questions for Kameny, the first being: how exactly does an animal signal his or her “consent” to have sex with a human?”

Richard writes:

Peter … I think interspecies sexual conduct is probably morally wrong. I have no intention of ever attempting sexual activity with any other species than human. However, you do ask some silly questions. Animals express consent rather plainly. Have you ever had a pet cat or dog? Ever been on a farm with cows and horses and pigs? An animal expresses consent with tooth and claw and hoof. My dog and cat and horse will let me know right away if they consent to the leash or harness or food of the day. With meows and toss of the head and baring of the teeth and growls and so forth. Animals communicate VERY well. I found your question about animals communicating consent rather silly. think about it.

Frank Kameny — the “gay” pioneer revered by homosexual activists for his role in pressuring the American Psychiatric Association to effectively reclassify homosexuals as normal — now says that sex with animals is OK “as long as the animal doesn’t mind.”

Kameny responded to AFTAH’s article reporting on the sale of bestiality videos (and other hard-core pornography) at the recent “International Mr. Leather” convention — by defending sex with “consenting animals” and encouraging the use of “more and better and harder-core pornography” as manifestations of “Americanism in action.”

In his e-letter to Americans For Truth, Kameny, 83, stated:

“Bestiality is not my thing … But it seems to be a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people. So, as long as the animal doesn’t mind (and the animal rarely does), I don’t mind, and I don’t see why anyone else should.”

We have many questions for Kameny, the first being: how exactly does an animal signal his or her “consent” to have sex with a human?

Last year, Kameny — a leader in the pressure campaign to declassify homosexuality as a psychiatric mental disorder — was honored by the Smithsonian Institution. His 1965 protest signs (and button with the “Gay Is Good” slogan he coined) will be displayed at the National Museum of American History, and his papers will be archived at the Library of Congress.

AFTAH criticized the notion that Kameny should be honored as an American civil rights hero. This writer has had several interactions with Kameny over the years, and I have interviewed him at length. He is civil but not afraid to confront “the enemy,” usually in stinging letters to pro-family leaders after watching them debate a “gay”-related issue in the media. The following is Kameny’s letter May 31, 2008, to Americans For Truth (emphasis added):

1. The term “sexual perversion” is devoid of objective meaning. The famous psychiatrist, Dr. Thomas Szasz aptly and correctly defined “sexual perversion” as: “Any sexual practice disapproved of by the speaker.”

Absolutely indisputably a central part of the very definition of Americanism is the guarantee, found in the Declaration of Independence, as not merely a Right, but as an Inalienable Right, of the “Pursuit of Happiness.”

If something which someone arbitrarily defines as a “sexual perversion” provides happiness for consenting adult participants, then its enjoyment is enshrined in basic Americanism.

So: Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better sexual perversions, by whatever definition, by more and more consenting adults.
We will all be the better off thereby.

And that will be Americanism in action.

2. Bestiality is not “my thing.” I have never participated in it and have no expectation that I ever will. But it seems to be a harmless foible or idiosyncrasy of some people.

So, as long as the animal doesn’t mind (and the animal rarely does) I don’t mind, and I don’t see why anyone else should.

If bestiality with consenting animals provides happiness to some people, let them pursue their happiness.

That is Americanism in action.

3. The First Amendment prohibits ANY law abridging freedom of speech and press. Therefore pornography is fully lawful and may not be limited or suppressed. Thus saith our Constitution.

Anyone who does not choose to view some particular pornography has an absolute right not to view it. But there is NO valid right for such people even to attempt to limit or prevent its acquisition and viewing by those who do choose to view it. Such attempts represent moral fascism, the American Taliban, and Christianofascism in action. They must be resisted to the uttermost. That is the view of the National Consumers Association for the Advancement and Protection of Pornography, Inc., of which I am the founder and President.

Let us have more and better enjoyment of more and better and harder-core pornography by those to whom such viewing provides happiness.

The pursuit of such happiness is Americanism in action.

Give some thought to what Americanism and our American freedoms really mean. It is clear that you haven’t a clue.

Franklin E. Kameny

In the National Museum of American History release announcing the acquisition of Kameny’s protest signs, Kameny states:

“Nearly fifty years ago, the United States Government banned me from employment in public service because I am a homosexual,” Kameny said. “This archive is not simply my story; it also shows how gay and lesbian Americans have joined the American mainstream story of expanded civil liberties in the 20th century. Today, by accepting these papers, the nation preserves not only our history but marks how far gay and lesbian Americans have traveled on the road to civil equality.”

Kameny led a series of escalating homosexual protests against the American Psychiatric Association’s classification of homosexuality as a mental disorder, culminating in the APA dropping the classification in 1973. In his eulogy for fellow homosexual activist Barbara Gittings, he writes (emphasis added):

A difference of opinion developed in the early 1960s, as how best to approach psychiatry and the sickness theory and its advocates, with some taking a less assertive approach more deferential to the so-called authorities and experts, and others taking a more aggressive, confrontational approach, as did I. Barbara, who agreed fully with me, utilized the Daughters’ Ladder magazine, of which she was Editor, to publish a series of articles, some of which I wrote at her invitation, to set out the situation. That commenced a decade-long effort to bring psychiatry to bay. She was present in the convocation hall at the 1971 American Psychiatric Association in Washington when we invaded them and seized the microphone. She really participated in the 1972 APA convention in Dallas when she arranged for an exhibit booth entitled “Gay, Proud, and Healthy” at which was distributed a leaflet of the same title which I had written. And she arranged for the presence of Dr. John Fryer, the famous masked psychiatrist. She was present with us, by invitation, at APA headquarters in Washington, on December 15, 1973, when the APA announced their mass cure of all of us.

Note that we’ve covered up the pornographic images. The bestiality titles (e.g., “Goat Fever,” “Amateur Animal 1,” speak for themselves. “Scat,” according to one online (and sexually explicit) “Robert Scott’s Gay Slang Dictionary,” refers to “A gay male who gets sexual gratification from acts involving faeces.” That is, excrement, which to us at Americans For Truth is proof that Satan is alive and well in this world.

Many IML “leathermen” may be successful businessmen or professionals by day, but in secret they glory in the sickest perversions imaginable, including (for some) “sex play” involving urine and feces. See this incredible photo of a group that advocates “piss parties,” and which hawks its vile products every year at IML.

All those concerned about the spread of HIV will be horrified to learn that homosexual “barebacking” (condomless sodomy) porn videos were everywhere at IML 2008, more so, it seemed, than at last year’s event at the Palmer House Hilton, also in Chicago. So much for all that homosexual “safer sex” education.

Pity the poor Hyatt Regency Chicago workers who had to clean up after the orgies and sex parties of the IML’s (mostly) homosexual “leathermen,” who attracted vendors selling such porn titles as the “Eat [Sh-t]” porn series (1, 2 and 3!; see photo above). Other videos playing at IML vendor booths in the Hyatt Regency gloried in homosexual fetishes involving urine, “fisting,” domination, submission, humiliation, extreme pain and bondage. As CWA’s Matt Barber and Martha Kleder discussed in the online CWA interview with this writer, what normal person would want to stay in a hotel room previously occupied by men engaging in such filthy sodomitic practices? (Call the Hyatt Regency’s Chicago’s General Manager, Patrick Donnelly, at 312-565-1234.)

International Mr. Leather is a spectacle that, like the annual, sadistic Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco, could only have emerged from the hyper-sexualized, God-defying “gay” male subculture. And lest we dismiss IML as the “fringe of the sexual fringe,” we should remember: 1) that International Mr. Leather organizers claimed to “expect over 18,000 people from around the world to join in the celebration of IML” (Official Program Guide, p. 13); and 2) that America’s groundbreaking “sexologist,” Alfred Kinsey, was himself driven to punish himself masochistically, inserting foreign objects up his penis since his youth, according to his biographer, James H. Jones (Alfred C. Kinsey: A Life).

Of course, Kinsey’s covert and reckless perversions were not known to the American public as he labored carefully, with the media’s all too willing compliance (click HERE for Aug. 24, 1953 Time cover story), to achieve his vision of loosening the country’s sexual mores in the name of science. Jones describes how Kinsey “punish[ed] himself with savage brutality”:

“For a boy like Kinsey, a righteous boy whose sense of self-worth depended upon rigid self-control, nothing needed to be kept more hidden than the fact that he masturbated and that he did so with a foreign object inserted up his penis. Kinsey’s secret hiding place was not a treasure trove but a torture chest that contained the instrument of his pain. By late adolescence, his masochism was well advanced. He had progressed beyond straws and was inserting a brush back up his penis, a practice he would continue for life, at times changing the instrument of self-torture, but never the point of attack.”

So now we come full circle as the sadistic “International Mr. Leather” marks its 30th anniversary — with men celebrating with whips, anal “sex toys” and bondage gear a version of what was then the self-brutalizing Kinsey’s secret shame. (Certainly had the public known about the real Kinsey, including his lifelong sadomasochistic perversions, and willingness to include alleged self-reporting pedophile “data” on infant “orgasms” (Table 34 in his 1948 book Sexual Behavior and the Human Male), it would have spoiled his culture-changing enterprise.) Tragically, for the idolatrous men at IML, shame seems to be in pathetically short supply.

Perhaps to pay tribute to the man whose inner demons drove him to popularize deviant sexuality — paving the way for the “gay pride” revolution and, ultimately, outright perversion-fests like International Mr. Leather — Alfred Kinsey’s image should replace the heart on that black-and-blue “Leather Pride” flag (at right).

Sadistic homosexual men attending an “International Mr. Leather” convention took over the Hyatt Regency Hotel (Patrick Donnelly, Gen. Man.: 312-565-1234) in Chicago over the Memorial Day weekend. CWA’s Matt Barber asks in the online interview: assuming that the men engaging in the above type of “pig sex” (as they call it) indulged in their twisted perversions in their hotel guest rooms, how does the Grand Hyatt staff clean up and disinfect the rooms afterwards? Would YOU want to stay in the same room where men engaged in satanic, depraved sodomitic orgies involving feces and urine? Call the Hyatt at 312-565-1234 to tell management that you, too, will never stay at this hotel; and also call the Palmer House Hilton (312-726-7500), host of last year’s IML (see 2007 photo-story HERE). Both hotels should pay a price for profiting off of sadistic and unhealthy perversions.

Both say that potential guests need to voice their disapproval of Hyatt hosting and profiting from such an event.
