Church asserts “individuals do not choose and cannot change their sexual orientation”
Folks, in some future conservative analysis, I believe it will be found that one of the greatest media and academic scams ever perpetrated on the gullible public was the “reporting” on alleged “scientific studies” purporting to prove that people are “born gay.” As we learned from Alfred Kinsey [see one of his horrific pedophile data-tables HERE], science is easily politicized because–bottom line–we humans are fallen and we try to rationalize our sin. (Kinsey struggled with perverse desires from his youth, as his biographer James Jones revealed.)
The quest for the “gay gene” has been stubbornly persistent–even after the theory fell out of favor–because so many people are so desperate to remove the “moral” element from the homosexual equation. If people are “born that way,” the thinking goes, then they are off the hook for their same-sex behavior. They are innocent and they must be accommodated by society and the law (as an oppressed minority). Note the word choice of the wayward church body in question:
“individuals do not choose and cannot change their sexual orientation”
We could write many books on the implication of that devious, exculpatory, leftist construct, “orientation” (which seems to be reserved for deviant sexual inclinations). But let’s face it: many millions of Americans think this way about their loved ones, friends and co-workers caught up in homosexual sin. And they won’t change their minds regardless of the demise of “gay gene” theories–because it matches our postmodern (post-Judeo-Christian) zeitgeist that puts feelings above reason and has little use for inconvenient biblical truths. For more on this, see this excellent 2001 essay by Dr. John Finnis, “What the Church Teaches about Homosexual Inclinations.”
Unfortunately for LGBT ideologues and their straight, liberal allies, including the Catholic Diocese of San Jose, the theory of genetic homosexuality is in big trouble. That is best explained in the ongoing research of New Zealander Dr. Neil Whitehead (PhD, biochemistry), author of My Genes Made Me Do It [ordering info here; a free PDF copy is available].
Below are excerpts from an important blog post by Catholic ex-“gay” Joseph Sciambra, whom I cannot wait to meet and interview for his insights, as he spent much of his life as a promiscuous homosexual. Sciambra is the author of the book, Swallowed by Satan: How the Lord Jesus Christ Saved Me From Pornography, Homosexuality and the Occult, which I confess that I have purchased but not yet read (it’s on my “To Read” list). I suggest you buy this book and read it!
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”–Jesus Christ, in the Gospel of John (15:18)
By Peter LaBarbera
It would be quite an understatement to say that defectors from homosexualism–especially those who choose God over ‘gayness’–are not treated well by LGBT activists. So when somebody like conservative Catholic advocate Michael Voris acknowledges publicly that he left homosexual behavior behind, you can count on bitter and snarky “gay” militants to ridicule him as a self-loathing homosexual overcompensating for his innate sexual urges. Throw in the anti-Christianity common among “gay” liberationists and the hatred gets pretty virulent, as you can see by reading the nasty comments following a story about Voris in the homosexual “Joe.My.God” blog.
Please watch this brave video by Voris–a man for whom I have great admiration–and read the transcribed excerpt and commentary that follow after the video and the jump:
Folks, this is an excellent video by conservative Catholic Michael Voris, founder of ChurchMilitant.com and a leading fighter against pro-homosexual “progressives” in the Catholic Church. Voris is a Catholic, and I am an evangelical. We may disagree strongly on points of theology (and agree on others)–but let me tell you, this guy is a warrior, and I respect that.
Below the video is a transcript of Voris’ powerful remarks. As I wrote in a previous post, every American who is concerned about the homosexualist juggernaut–whether Catholic or not–should be aware of what is transpiring among Catholics, and the leftist campaign to subvert the Church’s teachings on homosexuality and marriage. That is because Catholics and the Church’s actions have such a huge influence over the overall “gay” debate, both here and abroad. We will follow the Synod of the Family–dubbed the “Sodomy Synod” by Voris below–closely through conservatives like Voris. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH
Right out of the gate, even before the Synod officially got underway, a shocking revelation from the Italian media that a high-ranking official in the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (CDF) came out as an active homosexual with a partner.
The announcement in the Italian media brought an almost instant response from the Vatican, which said the Polish priest Kryzsztof Charamsa, a Vatican theologian, was irresponsible and placing undue pressure on the Synod right from the opening bell. But in many ways, what Charamsa has done is merely bring out into the open what many have long suspected and even been discussing quite freely: that there is a major push by gay and gay-positive clergy to get the Church to accept homosexuality.
“Widespread confusion” among Catholics regarding Church teachings amidst “onslaught of lifestyles spread by anti-Christian lobbies,” says petition
“Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.’ They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.” — Catechism of the Catholic Church, “Chastity and homosexuality,” 2357; see full text HERE.
Folks, I am not a Roman Catholic and I am averse to calling any man “Holy Father,” but I am reprinting this petition because you need to know that the the battle to overturn longstanding Catholic teaching against homosexualism is intensifying. Leftist “Catholics” who reject the Church’s teachings against homosexual practice are mobilizing for the Synod on the Family. Below is a petition signed by prominent Catholics (see list HERE), reprinted from the conservative group Tradition, Family, Property’s website. It is preceded by TFP’s introductory note.
The actions of the Catholic Church and the attitudes of American Catholics toward homosexualism greatly affect this cultural debate–and so all concerned citizens, regardless of their faith, must pay attention to this ongoing struggle. Many Western Catholics willfully choose to be ignorant of, or generally flout, historic Church teachings on this issue. And many a politician and pundit has used Pope Francis to justify supporting homosexuality-based “marriage” even though it is rejected emphatically by Catholic doctrine (see above). We will follow the Synod debate closely, relying on the analyses of some of our Catholic friends. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH
American TFP writes:
Dissident Catholic pressure groups — aided by the liberal media — are feverishly working to dismantle vital Church teaching on marriage and family at the next Synod on the Family in Rome.
In fact, they are bombarding the Holy Father and the Synod Fathers right now with messages of revolt against traditional moral values as they clamor for “change, change, change” inside the Church.
At this critical time, we must defend the truth and ask the Holy Father to protect the future of the family.
The American TFP is joining forces with over 20 more pro-family groups around the world to collect as many signatures as possible before the next Synod starts. This prayerful petition is a worldwide effort. Everyone is invited to sign.
May God reward you.
Filial Petition to Pope Francis:
In view of the Synod on the family to be held in October 2015, we filially address Your Holiness to express our fears and hopes regarding the future of the family.
Our fears arise from witnessing a decades-long sexual revolution promoted by an alliance of powerful organizations, political forces and the mass media that consistently work against the very existence of the family as the basic unit of society. Ever since the so-called May 1968 Sorbonne Revolution, a morality opposed to both Divine and natural law has been gradually and systematically imposed on us so implacably as to make it possible, for example, to teach the abhorrent “gender theory” to young children in many countries.
Catholic In Name Only? The American Catholic Lawyers Association accuses Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, who wrote the Obergefell decision imposing homosexual “marriage” on the nation, of failing to “uphold the divine and natural law that marriage is between a man and a woman.” Kennedy is a Roman Catholic.
July 27, 2015, Fairfield, NJ – The American Catholic Lawyers Association (ACLA) announces its objection to the majority ruling in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges regarding same-sexThe marriage. Sodomy, as the Supreme Court itself observed in Bowers v. Hardwicke, before overruling itself a mere seventeen years later in Lawrence v. Texas, is immoral and perverse conduct that the U.S. Constitution was never intended to protect; and the Constitution is forbidden to transgress those aspects of the divine and natural law binding on all men and all nations. Nor was the Constitution ever intended to take away from the States the right to punish sodomy or to codify the truth of both divine and natural law that marriage is between one man and one woman.
Moreover the Obergefell decision is invalid in that two of the Justices were required by the U.S. Code, Title 28, Part I, Chapter 21, § 455, to recuse themselves because of “impartiality that might reasonably be questioned.” Both Justices Kagan and Ginsburg failed to recuse themselves despite having a public record of advocacy of “same-sex marriage,” with both having conducted “same-sex wedding” ceremonies.
Finally, the American Catholic Lawyers Association protests in the strongest terms the actions of Justice Anthony Kennedy. Because he was the deciding vote, God gave him, as a professing Catholic, the opportunity to uphold the divine and natural law that marriage is between a man and a woman. Instead, he did the unthinkable and attempted to overturn that truth with false human reasoning.
As a Catholic jurist, especially one protected by the life tenure that ensures judicial independence from popular sentiment, Justice Kennedy was bound to obey a law higher than his false notion of “liberty,” the law that God has inscribed in human nature. Justice Kennedy failed in this sacred duty, violated the oath to God he took upon ascension to his high office, and thereby inflicted incalculable harm on society.
In a teaching that applies universally under the natural law, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, in a statement whose publication was ordered by John Paul II, declared that even “[i]n those situations where homosexual unions have been legally recognized or have been given the legal status and rights belonging to marriage, clear and emphatic opposition is a duty. One must refrain from any kind of formal cooperation in the enactment or application of such gravely unjust laws and, as far as possible, from material cooperation on the level of their application.” [“Considerations Regarding Proposals to Give Legal Recognition to Unions Between Homosexual Persons”, Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, June 3, 2003]
Accordingly, we call upon the Court to overrule this decision at the first opportunity. Further, we call on the Bishop of Justice Kennedy’s diocese or any competent Church authority to impose appropriate canonical sanctions in keeping with the 1983 Code of Canon Law promulgated by John Paul II, which provides: “Those who have… been obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.” CIC (1983) § 915. The Catholic faithful are not immune from the authority of the Church when they don judicial robes or enter legislative chambers. On the contrary, the Church imposes a higher duty on Catholic public officials precisely in virtue of their public offices—a duty to defend and protect the common good according to the higher law.
AMERICAN CATHOLIC LAWYERS ASSOCIATION, INC. is a federally tax-exempt organization dedicated, since 1991, to defending the rights of Catholics in civil and criminal courts throughout the nation, both state and federal, and in public discourse and debate. Did America’s “conservative network” violate its anchor Bret Baier’s religious rights in forcing Legatus pullout?
Did Fox News violate anchor Bret Baier’s religious rights by pressing him to pull out as a speaker at the Catholic Legatus summit? Go to 23:40 mark in the video below. Read HERE about how Baier confirmed that Fox “requested” he withdraw as a speaker. America’s Survival TV led by veteran conservative media observer Cliff Kincad interviewed AFTAH’s Peter LaBarbera January 21, 2015 about Fox News “requesting” that anchor Bret Baier, a Catholic, pull out as a speaker from a Jan. 28-29 conference by the Catholic group Legatus. [See AFTAH stories HERE and HERE.] Note at about the 24:00 mark how Jerry Kenney raises the specter of whether Fox violated Baier’s religious rights, citing a potential Title VII violation under the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission)-enforced code. The pressure to conform to the left-wing homosexual agenda has scored a direct hit on the Fox News Channel. Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth discusses the scandal surrounding Bret Baier’s forced withdrawal from a Catholic conference. Jerry Kenney and Cliff Kincaid join Peter LaBarbera to discuss whether Bret Baier’s rights to free speech and religious expression were violated by his corporate bosses. Can a legal case be brought against Fox News?

Salem Radio host Janet Mefferd interviewed AFTAH’s Peter LaBarbera yesterday (Jan. 20, 2015) about Fox News’ decision to request that its nightly “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier pull out as a scheduled speaker at a Legatus conference after a homosexual activist complained that Legatus, a national Catholic businessmen’s group, is “very anti-gay.” Baier himself is a Catholic, and defended his withdrawal from the event. Fox News is a major donor to a homosexual journalists group. Click HERE for the MP3 audio link to the hour-long interview [or click on the image at right].
It may be easier to listen at Janet’s website audio player: [go HERE].
The two also discussed Hollywood’s current obsession with promoting homosexuality and gender confusion.

Hour 1- Fox News anchor Bret Baier pulled out of a speaking engagement for a conservative Catholic group after a homosexual activist labeled the group “very anti-gay.” Peter LaBarbera from Americans for Truth About Homosexuality stops by to discuss his thoughts on the effects of the LGBT Thought Police.
Fox News-enforced Political Correctness: Anchor Bret Baier [e-mail: email@example.com] confirms that Fox News requested that he pull out of a Jan 28-29 conference for the Catholic group Legatus. Baier chided a Legatus writer for not being “loving” enough, and for calling homosexuality a “disorder.” Yet the Catholic Catechism teaches that both homosexual behavior and inclinations are “disordered.” Meanwhile, FOX News funds a “gay journalists” group that promotes sexual behavior condemned by the Catholic Church and the Bible. [See Peter LaBarbera’s in-depth report on Fox’s pro-homosexual bias and funding of an activist-minded homosexual journalists association HERE.]
Anchor cites Pope Francis in agreeing with network decision to withdraw as speaker;

Do Bret Baier, Gary Sinise and Pete Coors owe Legatus and Catholics an apology?
By Peter LaBarbera
The following e-mail note was sent Friday by Fox News’ “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier [E-mail: special@FOXNEWS.COM] in response to an AFTAH newsletter subscriber who wrote him expressing concern over Baier’s decision to pull out as a scheduled speaker from a conference later this month by the Catholic group Legatus. [See previous AFTAH story on Legatus HERE.]
As you can read below, as justification for abandoning his commitment to Legatus, Baier criticizes a Legatus writer who wrote about “same-sex attraction disorder” for not being “loving” and “accepting” enough–e.g., for referring to homosexuality as a “disorder.” However, Baier, who describes himself as a “lifelong mass attending Catholic,” might want to study up on his own Church’s moral teachings. The Catholic Church Catechism describes the homosexual “inclination” as “objectively disordered,” and same-sex acts as “intrinsically disordered.”
The good news is that Legatus has had no trouble filling the politically correct speakers’ void, with former GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee–a former Fox News host himself–sending a powerful message by leading the pack of new speakers advertised for the January 28-29 summit. Joining Huckabee are Catholic pro-family activist Austin Ruse and ex-CEO and professor Harry Kraemer.
Also, as AFTAH reported, Louisana Gov. Bobby Jindal never buckled to “gay” activist pressure by remaining as a speaker [call Gov. Jindal at 225-342-7015], and New York Catholic Cardinal Timothy Dolan will say a Mass at the Legatus event.
Bottom Line: Fox News’ Values Upside-Down
Here is the bottom line of this controversy: Fox News directly finances and sponsors pro-“gay” media events that promote homosexual behavior and ideology–including same-sex “marriage”–condemned by the Catholic Church. They also recruit at these activist-oriented events: see their sponsorship of last year’s National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) conference in Chicago, attended by this writer, and my in-depth special report on Fox News pro-“gay” bias and ongoing funding of the NLGJA.
At the same time, Fox News apparently discourages its on-air talent from participating in wholesome, faith-based events that uphold traditional sexual morality, e.g., those espoused by longstanding Catholic Church teachings on sex and marriage.
What a shame. The good news is that more and more Americans despise the upside-down world of political correctness and the emerging “gay activist hecklers’ veto” that demonizes pro-family leaders and groups with the loaded accusation of being “anti-gay” and falsely smears them as being “hateful” merely because they uphold historic Judeo-Christian morality.
Personally, I believe Fox News and Bret Baier–as well as actor Gary Siniseand businessman Pete Coors—owe an apology to Legatus and all faithful Catholics–and defenders of biblical morality everywhere. Here is Legatus’ gracious media statement on the speakers situation. AFTAH will have more on this story.
