Gay Activists Stay Vocal; Christian Leader Goes Silent:Chick-fil-A’s new CEO, Dan Cathy (right), befriended homosexual activist and Campus Pride executive director Shane Windmeyer in the wake of the media hubbub over Cathy’s defense of natural marriage. Now Cathy has heeded Windmeyer’s advice to pull back from publicly from the homosexual “marriage” debate. Photo: Huffington Post.
By Peter LaBarbera
Dear AFTAH Reader,
As usual, the Culture War over sexually immoral same-sex behavior is hot, and AFTAH is in the thick of it. We will have more on the regrettable backpedaling by Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy, who says it was a “mistake” for him to speak out for natural marriage. The Atlanta Journal Constitution, which interviewed the chicken fast-food exec, reports:
“Cathy said he decided to step back from the gay marriage debate after prayer and conversations with co-workers and friends, including Shane Windmeyer, a gay supporter of marriage equality who helped Cathy understand why marriage was important to the gay community.”
Talk about snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory!
NOTE:Shane Windmeyer is a homosexual activist and the founder and executive director of Campus Pride, which aggressively pushes for the acceptance of homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism on college campuses. Gee, what a shock that Windmeyer wants his friend, Dan Cathy, to SHUT UP about homosexual “marriage”….Lesson for pro-family advocates: in my experience, when Christians “dialogue” with homosexuality activists, the “gay” activists usually end up winning the most concessions and biblical values are compromised.
I wish I could say I’m stunned, but I’ve grown used to Christians and “pro-family conservatives” selling out in the Culture War over homosexualism. As I told American Family Radio talk show host Bryan Fischer Thursday, the “Gay” Lobby is playing hard ball, and Christians are playing tee-ball. Click HERE to view a “Right Wing Watch” clip of my interview with Fischer. And go HERE to view a story in Huffington Post(“Huff Post Gay Voices”) about my comments. (Yes, HuffPo has its own “gay cheerleading” section–No Moral Voices Allowed!)
I told Bryan that Cathy “sold out” all those good Americans who–after all–had rallied by the hundreds of thousands to support his RIGHT TO SPEAK OUT for God’s natural design for marriage as between a man and a woman. I mean, isn’t that why so many people showed up on “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day”–because we were sick and tired of people of faith being silenced by homosexual militants and their pro-LGBT media enablers?
Also, the Journal-Constitution reports, “Progressive website Think Progress earlier this month reported that Chick-fil-A’s foundations — WinShape Foundation and its namesake Chick-fil-A Foundation — “dramatically” cut donations to groups gay marriage supporters consider anti-gay.” AFTAH will be checking into this as well. How sad if this is true.
One last thing: isn’t it interesting that PRO-homosexual-“marriage” execs like Starbuck’s CEO Howard Schultz don’t retreat from publicly speaking out FOR counterfeit “marriage”? In fact, liberal corporations are more sold out than ever in publicly supporting–and funding–All Things “Gay”–so once again it’s the Christian, “pro-family” side that is engaging in unilateral surrender in the battle for Truth on homosexuality and marriage. Meanwhile, the Homosexual Lobby is louder and more aggressive than ever in pushing its lies and demands!
AFTAH will have much more on this story and other examples of Christian defeatism in the Culture War….
P.S. AFTAH Needs Your Support: Help us out if you can because we cannot take on the well-funded, media-backed “Gay” Lobby without getting funding ourselves. Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) urges Christians and all who believe that people can overcome destructive lifestyles to support RHN with their prayers, efforts and finances. Furthermore, we applaud all Christian ministries that have severed their relationship with Exodus: Christianity and homosexualist ideology do not mix, which is to say: faithful Christianity and sin do not mix. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

Why is Alan Chambers apologizing — to unrepentant homosexuals — for Exodus International’s past slogan, “Change is possible”?
In this broadcast [click HERE to listen], recorded September 6, 2012, AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera and co-host John Kirkwood discuss several issues in the news surrounding the homosexual issue, including:
Exodus International president Alan Chambers’ embrace of “gay”-affirming Christianity and his appearance before the “Gay Christian Network” (at which Chambers apologized for Exodus’ former slogan, “Change Is Possible”);
An excellent response by Kirkwood to LaBarbera’s question: “Is ‘sexual orientation’ in the Bible?”;
Commentary on Christian apologist Ravi Zacharias’ compelling answer at an open forum to the question, “Is it possible for a man or a woman to live a sincere Christian life as a homosexual?”;
The Democrat Party versus the Republican Party platforms on homosexuality — and especially the Democrats’ formal embrace of homosexual “marriage”;
Sen. Dick Durbin’s (D-IL)’s overzealous response to FOX interviewer Brett Baier’s question about why the Democrats would remove the word “God” from their 2012 Party Platform (it was later restored in a controversial floor voice vote [listen at about 46:00 on the program]). Durbin asserts that “both parties are God-fearing parties”;
The growing push within GOP circles — including this article on conservative icon Glenn Beck’s website The Blaze — to advance homosexual “marriage.”

UPDATE: Gay militant smears AFTAH, again: Shortly after we posted the article and video below about Exodus International’s tragic embrace of “gay Christianity,” AFTAH founder Peter LaBarbera was attacked by notorious homosexual militant Wayne Besen (who came up with the hateful smear “Porno Pete”): see Besen’s lie-filled “report” here: http://www.truthwinsout.org/blog/2012/09/29105/
Words cannot express my disappointment in Exodus International President Alan Chambers’ “exodus” from biblical truth on homosexuality. This 17-minute video of Chambers addressing a pro-homosexual, ostensibly “Christian” group (Gay Christian Network) aptly sums up his tragic defection. [For a rebuttal, see Prof. Rob Gagnon’s paper, “Time for a Leadership Change at Exodus?] Poor Alan is way beyond his pay grade here: imagine heading up an “ex-gay” umbrella group — which is how Exodus once described itself — and apologizing to unrepentant homosexuals for the simple slogan “Change is possible.” Shame. Substitute another sexual sin (say, pornography) for homosexuality (“sexual orientation”) — and Chambers’ “apology” makes no sense at all. (For that matter, would anyone take a “Porn-using Christians Network”–or a “Christian Lusters Network”–seriously and “dialogue” with them?)
Sad but true: these days when Christians “dialogue” with homosexual activists, as Chambers often does, it is usually the Christians who bend toward the world (sin) rather than vice versa. Stay tuned for more on this stunning story of Exodus’ and Chambers’ break with historic Christian teaching on homosexuality. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH
This video was produced by Oklahoma City-based First Stone Ministries, led by our friend and former homosexual Stephen Black. First Stone recently broke away from Exodus International and is now part of a new, biblically-faithful umbrella group for sexual struggers, Restored Hope Network. Rachel Held Evans says today’s younger Christians are uniting against legislative action (such as pro-traditional marriage amendments) opposing the homosexual agenda.
By Peter LaBarbera
Folks, there’s nothing that MSNBC and the Left-biased media love more than to highlight an evangelical Christian who has sold out on homosexuality (or abortion). That is essentially what evangelical blogger Rachel Held Evans has done on the homosexual “marriage” issue — hence she is featured prominently in this MSNBC piece titled, “Could marriage debate drive young christians from church?”
For the life of me I cannot fathom the shallowness of Held Evans’ thinking, beginning with her casual acceptance of personal identity (“gayness”) based on a sin (homosexuality) that God calls an abomination. Are today’s young Christians really that soft-headed and brainwashed (yes, brainwashed by the politically correct media, Hollywood and academia) that they believe that because they “know someone who’s gay,” they can no longer fight and speak out against something as evil as legalized homosexual “marriage”?
Is it beyond the comprehension of the under-35 crowd that perhaps out-and-proud “gayness” and other misguided secular ideas are prospering precisely because the influence of biblcal Christianity is waning in our culture?
Also note in bold below Held Evans’ particular aversion toward Christians opposing the political/legislative homosexual agenda — while presumably it is fine for the powerful Sin Movement that calls itself “gay” to use our American freedoms to push boldly toward achieving its radical goals. (Goals that include teaching homosexuality and gender confusion (transgenderism) to the very young in schools; blacklisting and silencing pro-family (Christian) voices in the media; and undermining religious freedom itself insofar as it conflicts with homosexuality-based “rights.”)
In other words, Held Evans and fellow “nicer-than-Jesus” evangelicals advocate a unilateral surrender in the Culture War.
The dire state of the American Christian Church vis-a-vis the aggressive movement to normalize homosexual behavior and gender confusion in the culture;
The “terror” tactics and aggressive campaigns used by homosexual activists to intimidate good people into silence on this issue;
Lively’s personal experience with the dirty tactics and lies used by radical LGBT activists against pro-family leaders attempting to stop the “gay” revolution (including one notorious fake “anti-gay hate crime” in Oregon). Lively more than almost any pro-family conservative alive today has experienced these tactics firsthand in more than 20 years of working on the front lines (here and abroad) against the homosexualist agenda;
The futility of relying on politics and the courts to contain the advance of government-backed homosexuality — and how many “ministry-minded” or apathetic believers are woefully naive about the Culture War raging on this issue;
The campaign of lies used by pro-homosexual militants (and repeated by the media) to smear Lively and others as allegedly supporting the murder of homosexuals in Uganda;
The corruption of words by the pro-homosexual Left, including “gay,” “sexual orientation” and “marriage equality”;
The appearance of PRO-homosexuality “evangelicals” like Grove City College’s Warren Throckmorton and Chicago’s Andrew Marin — who confuse Christians and undermine biblical truth on the issue by capitulating to pro-“gay” ideology and semantics;
The connection of homosexuality and sexual deviance to the Nazi Party in Germany. (See Lively’s book, The Pink Swastika);
The very real threat to religious liberty posed by the tremendous rise of homosexual (“gay”) power in the United States.

This morning I sent the following public letter to Grove City College professor and homosexuality-affirming blogger Warren Throckmorton, as well as dozens of pro-family leaders. Note that Throckmorton, a frequent critic of conservative evangelical leaders, has been singled out for praise by the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center — the same SPLC that outrageously labeled AFTAH, Family Research Council, American Family Association and other mainstream pro-family organizations as “hate groups.” [Contact Grove City College HERE.]
I certainly don’t think Richard Cohen or anyone needs to apologize for stating the obvious truth that “Change [away from and rejecting homosexuality] is possible.” If we were to apologize for everything that “offends” hardened LGBT activists, we’d be apologizing 24/7.
The question is, when will YOU apologize for affirming homosexuality as an acceptable (or innocuous) identity — while claiming (falsely) to uphold biblical orthodoxy? When will YOU repent for working hand-in-hand with “gay” activists who are diametrically opposed to the Christian worldview on homosexuality as an overcomable sexual sin (and an abomination) — by actively discrediting the need AND potential for wholesome change away from same-sex behavior and indulging same-sex desires?
Pro-family veteran to receive 2011 AFTAH “American Truth Teller” award
Scott Lively, author of "The Pink Swastika," has been targeted and lied about by homosexual militants for years because he defends God's truth about the changeable sin of homosexuality. He speaks for AFTAH Friday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 PM at Grace Gospel Church in Bensenville, IL, located on Route 83 just north of I-290. The Friday event is FREE. Lively also will be honored at the AFTAH dinner-banquet the next day (Sat., Oct. 15, 6:00 PM) at Christian Liberty Academy; tickets for the banquet are just $10/person, $20 at the door.
Dear AFTAH Supporters,
I’m delighted to announce that a man I greatly admire — Christian pro-family veteran and “Pink Swastika” author Scott Lively — has agreed to give a separate talk for Americans For Truth on Friday, Oct. 14, at Grace Gospel Fellowship church in Bensenville. That’s the day before AFTAH’s Sat., Oct. 15 banquet with Moody senior pastor Dr. Erwin Lutzer.
At the Sat., Oct. 15 banquet, I will present Scott with the 2011 “American Truth Teller” award for his decades of dedicated service in opposing the Homosexual Lobby and educating the public on the threat of the organized Homosexuality (“Gay”) movement — which, as he writes below, “is not about tolerance but control.” It simply was “cruel and unusual punishment” to give Scott just 10 minutes to speak at the banquet, so he graciously agreed to give a talk Friday night, which will also raise much-needed funds for AFTAH.
FRIDAY, Oct. 14 EVENT: Scott’s presentation will be held Friday Oct. 14 at 7:00 PM, at Grace Gospel Fellowship church in Bensenville, Illinois – pastored by my friend and awesome Culture Warrior John Kirkwood (go HERE listen to Part One of my AFTAH interview with John). The church is located on Route 83 just north of I-290 (4 North 220 Route 83 – Frontage Rd., Bensenville, IL; phone #: 630-834-0550). The Friday event is FREE (there is no dinner), but we will take up a collection to support AFTAH’s critical work. E-mail us at email@example.com to RSVP or if you have any questions.
BANQUET SAT., Oct 15th: The AFTAH dinner-banquet with Dr. Lutzer is shaping up to be a spectacular night of truth-telling that will get your pro-family batteries charged for another year! In addition to Dr. Lutzer, who is revered across the nation but especially in the Midwest for his faithful Bible preaching, you will meet Walt Heyer, a FORMER transsexual who returned to his God-given male identity with the Lord’s help. Walt once identified as “Laura,” and went through a body-disfiguring “sex-change” operation, but now he is reaching out at www.SexChangeRegret.com to gender-confused people with the message: “Don’t make my mistake!” I’m so excited to meet Walt after my extended AFTAH interview with him (go HERE for the Part 4 of the interview).
Lastly, we will hear from Truth-Teller Award recipient Scott Lively, who — like myself and AFTAH — has been the target of incredible, ongoing vilification by homosexual militants due to his desire to stand without compromise for God’s Truth about same-sex sin. Thank you so much for your support, and please tell your friends about both Americans For Truth events! Remember, we priced the banquet at just $10 (dinner included) because we know these are tough times and I want you and your family to be blessed by this special evening!
Who: Dr. Erwin Lutzer, Senior Pastor, Moody Church, Chicago, Illinois. Pro-family culture warrior Scott Lively will also be honored at the banquet
When: Saturday, October 15, 2011; doors open at 6:00 PM.
Where: Christian Liberty Academy, 502 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights, IL 60004, northwest of Chicago; website HERE.
