Dan Savage, anti-Christian activist, deviant sex advice columnist, prolific hatemonger -- and 'Gay Grinch 2009' candidate. See his "gay marriage" YouTube video below.

Folks, we have heard from a few readers who suggested that prolific homosexual writer and sex advice columnist Dan Savage be added to our “Gay Grinch of the Year” 2009 contest, and so he is. Only a perversion activist as twisted as Savage could stage a contest with his readers to come up with a sickening definition to associate with “santorum” — because he was upset that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum (R) made comments critical of homosexuality (in 2003). (And how appropriate that the winner of Savage’s little nastiness competition was a disgusting by-product of the crime against nature itself, anal sodomy; see his “santorum” definition HERE in the Urban Dictionary.)

Savage is also the lovely fellow who engaged in “Germ Terrorism” against GOP presidential candidate Gary Bauer in 2000, by, as Wikipedia reports, “volunteer[ing] for the Bauer campaign with the intent to infect the candidate with his flu.” Picture the pathetic and sniffling Savage  walking around Bauer’s empty Iowa campaign office licking doorknobs; later he presented Bauer with a saliva-soaked pen to autograph a picture of his adopted son, posing as a pro-life fan of Bauer. (Don’t you just love modern liberalism?)

Who would have thunk that our “Gay Grinch” award would end up sullying the reputation of the “real” TV Grinch by comparison to such Major League deviants and hatemongers as Savage?

But enough about Savage’s past extremism. Recently the Seattle-based sex columnist made a very “queer” plea for homosexual “marriage” (watch YouTube below) — not seeming to comprehend the radical difference between evolving reforms within marriage and the revolutionary homosexualization of “marriage” that essentially redefines the institution to mean anything. (If two men can get “married” on the basis of “love,” how are we going to stop a man and two women from doing so on the same basis? In fact, polygamists feel they have a greater claim to legal marriage than homosexuals because at least they have opposite genders and can produce children on their own.)

You will note that toward the end of the video Savage shamelessly appeals to the fact that he has a child (which he adopted with homosexual partner Terry), thus seemingly satisfying one his critics’ criteria for real marriage. But here Savage has the chutzpah of ten Gay Grinches — plus two: as we reported, he thinks “monogamy is optional” for marriage and admits to having sexual three-ways with Terry and another man — one with an ex-boyfriend of Savage, “a Microsoft millionaire who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars building a ‘playroom’ in his basement — a kind of sex toy wonderland.” Yuck. (Keep in mind these are “gay parents” of a young boy.) Savage claims that allowing heterosexual spouses a “few tightly controlled” affairs would help lower the divorce rate.

To protect his overactive behind, Savage then oddly asserts in his column recommending non-monogamous “marriages”: “”We’ve never done anything, nor would we ever do anything, that would put our child at risk.” Earth to Savage: it’s way too late for that! But I suppose that from the poor boy’s perspective, if you’re being raised by two homosexual men — one of whom writes a perverted, weekly sex column and shills for “nonmonogamous marriage”– finding out one day that they engaged in a sadomasochistic threesome with another guy could hardly be construed as shocking news.

Nevertheless, I have a question for Dan and his domestic homosexual lover Terry: who watches the kid when you guys are having one of your “tightly controlled” three-way sex romps? — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org.

In 2008, 15-year-old Amanda Collette was shot and killed by lesbian classmate Teah Wimberly after she resisted Wimberly's homosexual advances.

A SERIOUS NOTE: As you can see, below we are making light of the bald-faced hypocrisy of homosexual activists, who demand tolerance for themselves even as they maliciously attack and victimize their critics — and falsely accuse them of “hate.” However, we are not including the most vicious manifestation of homosexual hatred that occurred this year: the recent murder conviction of  Teah Wimberly, a lesbian student who shot and killed Amanda Collette, her 15-year-old classmate at Ft. Lauderdale’s Dillard High School — because Collette refused Wimberly’s same-sex romantic advances.

This is no joking matter, so Wimberly (courtroom photo below left) is not on our list. Needless to say, her conviction for the murder of the talented and beautiful Collette (pictured below right) — a murder directly tied to homosexuality — has not received anything close to the national media attention that made homosexual murder victim Matthew Shepard a household name. (Recall that the much-touted “anti-gay-hate-crime” motive for Shepard’s murder was later cast into serious doubt by ABC’s 20/20.)

Teah Wimberly was found guilty of murdering the target of her same-sex crush, Amanda Collette.

A little over a year ago, Amanda Collette became the ultimate victim of homosexuality when Wimberly shot her in the back at school. As the Miami Herald reported, “Collette, 15, a star dancer on the school’s hip-hop dance squad, had rejected romantic advances from Wimberly in the days before the shooting.” Minutes after the shooting, Wimberly cried in a call to the 911 operator: ”I didn’t want to kill her so I shot her in the back . . . I just wanted to give her the pain she gave me.”

Regardless of what other factors were involved in this tragedy, it is not unreasonable to assert that Collette would be alive today were it not for the modern GLBT activist movement, which aggressively seeks to mainstream sexual deviance and immoral gay/lesbian “relationships” as normal and acceptable — most tragically among young people.

Yes, Virginia, there was a time in America when young women did not have to worry about sexual harassment and sexual advances from other young women. And the GLBT movement is first and foremost to blame for the rising number of youth who are embracing homosexual behaviors and considering destructive “gay,” lesbian, bisexual, or “transgender” self-”identities,” at younger and younger ages.  We ask you to pray for the families of both Collette and Wimberly, and pray for the Christian conversion of Teah Wimberly as she awaits sentencing. — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

Nominees Sought for ‘Gay Grinch of the Year 2009′

CAROL STREAM, Illinois — Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) is taking nominations for our first annual “Gay Grinch of the Year” Award for 2009 — given to the meanest, most deceitful, most socially destructive and/or most blasphemous “gay” activist of the year. Two Thousand Nine was a particularly “mean one” for the Homosexual Lobby — to quote the infamous theme song for the Grinch (which was sung by Thurl Ravenscroft and not Boris Karloff, by the way) — so the choice will be a tough one. We want your input: send your nominations, suggestions and documentary evidence of “gay” Grinchiness to americansfortruth@comcast.net. The Gay Grinch 2009 Award winner will be announced after Christmas.

As this is AFTAH’s debut “Gay Grinch of the Year” award, our procedures are still in flux. I am inclined to limit the competition to actual practicing homosexuals, bisexuals and “transgenders” but am open to the idea that we will need to give another award to the Grinchiest heterosexual advocate for “gay rights” (perhaps starting next year). We have noticed the growing arrogance and stridency of straight, pro-homosexuality activists — and some of the most caustic pro-”gay” rhetoric comes from straight sympathizers — so we don’t want to leave them out.

• Frank Kameny — this “gay” historical icon — who led the first public pro-homosexual protest in America — proclaimed that the God of the Bible is a “sinful homophobic bigot” who needs to repent (to whom, we wonder…) — in a letter to Americans For Truth’s Peter LaBarbera; Kameny is an atheist, yet he maintains that “Gay is Godly”;
• Rachel Maddow, resident lesbian talker 0n MSNBC — for suggesting that rather than tossing two tomatoes at Sarah Palin, an activist in Minnesota should have thrown a pie at the former Alaska governor (it’s more accurate). Especially coming from a “gay” activist, this recalls the infamous incident in which a homosexual militant threw a pie in the face of Anita Bryant — a very mean act indeed.  (Maddow too has plenty of other material that gives her a serious shot at the Gay Grinch 2009 award.);
• ChadMichael Morrisette and Mito Aviles — This West Hollywood homosexual couple erected a grotesque Halloween display on their rooftop: a nude female mannequin with “LIAR” written on the belly and a copy of the face of pro-traditional-marriage advocate Maggie Gallagher attached as the head (amongst other anti-religious images; see photos of the pathetically putrid and puerile prank HERE). This followed last year’s effigy of a Sarah Palin lookalike mannequin hanging from a noose. The vicious anti-Palin stunt in 2008 may have made the deviant duo a favorite for last year’s Gay Grinch award, but alas, we didn’t give one out. They remain dark horse for the 2009 Gay Grinch Award.
• Timothy Kincaid — this writer for the homosexual website “Box Turtle Bulletin” stepped into the competition for Gay Grinch 2009 when he preposterously accused pro-family advocate Laurie Higgins (a former high school writing instructor) of wanting to see students harmed — just because Higgins opposes the pro-homosexual “Day of Silence” and affirms the Scriptural condemnation of homosexual sin.

  Kincaid wrote: “Let’s be clear. Higgins does not oppose the Day of Silence because it is the wrong way to go about ending the bullying of gay kids. Rather, Higgins opposes the Day of Silence because she believes it is a Christian kid’s duty to bully his gay classmates.” This is a mischievous and awful lie, and Kincaid knows it, yet he and Box Turtle Bulletin’s editors have left it up on their “fact-checking” site for months — even after Higgins strenuously complained to Kincaid. (We understand from Laurie that the Grinchy Kincaid now regrets his word choice but not enough for BTB to remove their spurious hit-piece.) • George Fornero — This homosexual superintendent of school District 113 in the northern suburbs of Chicago was caught red-handed spreading gossipy, lying e-mails about the same Laurie Higgins and her family. Higgins, now with Illinois Family Institute, is a former writing instructor at a District 113 high school. She filed a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request with the district — which revealed dozens of nasty, catty in-house e-mails by and between Fornero and other liberal educators and administrators.
  

  George Fornero: bad role model for students.

  Fornero’s most malicious lie occurred in the form of a constituent e-mail he forwarded that made this absurd claim about Higgins: “I have a pretty good idea that she doesn’t care for Jews.” The hate-filled missive erroneously asserted that Higgins had barred her son from attending a classmate’s bat mitzvah ceremony, and then added this über-Grinchy bit of nastiness: “”I guess the contamination would have spread to [Higgins' son's] pure heart nor did he attend her celebration–probably too many Christ killers there.” WRONG, writes Higgins, who corrected the record: her son “attended countless bat and bar mitzvahs, as did my other children.” Fornero should be fired as a mean-spirited activist and poor role model for students who does not practice the respect and tolerance that he demands from others. I sent the note below to homosexual journalist Rex Wockner after reading his photo-story on the anti-Mormon “kiss-in” protest yesterday in San Diego. (See AFTAH’s report condemning the event HERE.) Turns out this is just one of many “kiss-ins” that have targeted the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) church after a male homosexual couple was arrested for trespassing on LDS church property in Salt Lake City after (if you believe LDS officials) flaunting their homosexuality. My goodness, that’s right up there with Jim Crow and anti-black segregation of the past — not. “Those big, bad churches won’t let us celebrate our deviant sexuality!” Oh, the heterosupremacy of it all!

Looking at Wockner’s photos of the over-indulged homosexual (and a few heterosexual) kisser-protesters, I suppose my characterization of this strange event as “Perversion Coercion” was a bit over-the-top — since it doesn’t appear as if the LDS church is going to be “coerced” anytime soon by this hapless lot mocking the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God outside those white temple fences. (But make no mistake: there is a long and sordid history of “queer” harassment of and attacks on churches and religious opponents.)

What is over-the-top, however, is the liberal (“mainstream”) media treating every “queer” protest and event as important news. (Meanwhile, Associated Press and all national media skipped our coalition press conference in Chicago against President Barack Obama’s “gay” agenda — held on the very day that Obama was capitulating to the “Gay” Lobby by signing an Executive Order supporting “domestic partners.”) If homosexual activists do succeed in destroying the influence of the church and ushering in the oxymoronic notion of government-supported homosexual “marriage,” the woefully biased American media will be able to claim major credit.

Here’s my note to Wockner:

Hey Rex, 25 media people at the anti-Mormon “kiss-in”? …

… according to your report. That’s almost more than the number of protesting kissers [30] themselves! Every pro-family leader I know would be shocked if half that many media showed up at one of their events. … So who’s got the power now?  The “gay victim” charade is getting a wee bit old given the media’s and Hollywood’s ubiquitous promotion of all things homosexual and transgender.

Hate Crimes Bill Introduced in Congress

A commentary by ex-gay Greg Quinlan

Washington D.C. – April 7, 2009/ What happens when ex-gays dare to come out of the closet?  When I helped staff the exhibit booth for the Ex-Gay Educators Caucus at the National Education Association conference in June 2006, Wayne Besen, the former spokesperson for the gay Human Rights Campaign, approached our booth and began to insult us for having the audacity to live as heterosexuals.  He took photos of our booth for his ex-gay bashing website which targets the ex-gay community for ridicule and harassment.  Mr. Besen and gay rights organizations do not believe ex-gays are entitled to the same rights and respect that gays currently enjoy.  They picket ex-gay conferences and protest vigorously against ex-gay equal access.

In his continuing zeal to discredit the ex-gay community, Besen likes to bully ex-gays by insisting that we still look “gay.”  When he was Director of Communications for the Human Rights Campaign, Besen delighted in telling me to “butch up” so “normal people” wouldn’t think I’m still “gay.”  See his emails for yourself at http://pfox.org/Human-Rights-Campaign-Hate-Against-Ex-Gays.pdf

At the conference, Besen stuck his finger in my face and called me a “fu*king faggot,” “fu*king cocksu*ker,” “fu*king fag bastard,” “fu*king nellie fairy,” and so on.  I guess he skipped the tolerance class where school kids learn to appreciate diversity and gays.  “You’re still having gay sex,” he yelled at me.  We had to call security to escort him out of the convention hall because we were scared for our safety.

Hate against ex-gays like me is all too common.  What’s going to happen when Congress passes the national Hate Crimes Prevention Act for gays?  It was introduced last week in the House of Representatives by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL).

With their hate officially protected by law, gay rights groups will force ex-gays into the closet.  Homosexuals will determine heterosexuality by censoring any ex-gay speech or behavior they disagree with as “hateful,” “discriminatory,” “intimidation,” “bullying,” “dangerous,” or leading to “spiritual and physical violence.”  We know because this is what they already label us.  Fighting “hate” and “discrimination” against gays has become a euphemism for attacks against ex-gays and their supporters.

Think twice, America.  Do you want to give gay activists like Besen the right to hate under the guise of a “civil rights” protection?  Besen has now aligned himself with Lambda Legal, the nation’s oldest and largest attorneys group “working for the civil rights of lesbians and gay men.”  Lambda Legal has offices and lawyers across the country.

While you still can, please stand up for the equal rights of the ex-gay community.  Unpopular minorities like former homosexuals deserve the right to be free and out in society.  The violence and hate spewed against heterosexuals after they voted against genderless marriage last fall is proof that a politically powerful and wealthy group like homosexuals can scare us into silence.  Let’s not be silent.

Americans For Truth sent the following e-letter today to Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, and cc’d to pro-family leaders across the country. Homosexual militant Wayne Besen (left) is once again attacking the Pope — one of his many targets among those who espouse traditional Judeo-Christian morality. Tonight Laura Ingraham subbed for Mr. O’Reilly:

Dear Mr. O’Reilly, why are you helping gay extremist Wayne Besen project a false “moderate” image?…

… Dear Mr. O’Reilly, homosexual activist and “Truth Wins Out” founder Wayne Besen plays nice and respectable on your show, but he is one of the most hateful, anti-religious bigots in the overall homosexual activist movement. I write today because I believe that if you were aware of his full record, you might not want him on your program – except perhaps in one of those interview segments in which you expose the hard Left. Besen regularly lies about pro-family advocates, cynically equates sincere defenders of historic, Judeo-Christian sexual mores (such as Dr. James Dobson) with “hate” and vile prejudice — and practically stalks ex-gay leaders like Greg Quinlan (cc’d above) in his fanatical campaign to discredit the well-observed reality that homosexuals can change and leave that lifestyle.

Besen certainly is not the responsible and respectful gay spokesman he pretends to be on your show, and he benefits greatly from the moderate image that comes from being a frequent guest on FOX. At the very least, I would expect you to do a segment grilling Besen, in tough O’Reilly tradition, on some of his extreme statements and tactics – such as when he had to be escorted from a convention after harassing an “ex-gay” booth and getting in the face of Quinlan, screaming at him in an obscenity-laden tirade. Or when he not only accused Dr. Dobson of being “hateful” but also of contributing to “hate violence” against homosexuals – in a “Truth Wins Out”-sponsored campaign to deny Dobson’s entrance into the Radio Hall of Fame. (Ironically, a year earlier the same Besen did all he could to discredit a real victim of physical assault – after a homosexual activist angrily attacked an ex-gay man volunteering at a PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays) booth at a fair in Arlington, Virginia. Besen’s baseless insinuation that the victim was lying was ultimately disproved when an Arlington police officer confirmed that the ex-gay man was attacked, and that his assailant had to be escorted out of the fairgrounds. Imagine how Besen would have decried the “hate crime” had the victim – and not the victimizer – been a homosexual.)

Thank you for challenging Besen — in your most recent interview with him about anti-Prop 8 protests — on his preposterous claim of “just wanting to be left alone,” For Wayne Besen to say such a thing – after his mean-spirited harassment of critics; his penchant for slandering good people and revered Christian leaders like Dr. Dobson as fomenters of “hate violence,” and his ends-justifies-the-means campaign to discredit healthy change and time-tested morality — is the height of irony. Thank you for all the good work you have done in exposing left-wing “loons” – a description Wayne Besen has well earned with his particularly nasty brand of intolerance in the service of homosexual “rights.”

HATE CRIMES BILLS predicted to move fast in U.S. House

There are two bills now in U.S. House of Representatives on so-called hate crimes, and both need to be OPPOSED for lots of reasons but the most egregious element is the “sexual orientation” language and opportunities for violation of religious freedom and further legitimizing of ‘gay’ behavior. They are also  pork-laden, social engineering bills that are unnecessary in a time of what should be budgetary conservatism.

Just remember,the key problem with hate crime legislation is that the crimes supposedly only covered through such bills are, in fact, already crimes, and can already be prosecuted under current laws. All the “sexual orientation” category does is add extra penalties if opposition to homosexuality (the “wrong” attitude) is determined to be a factor.

Both have been referred to the House subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security. They are likely to be reconciled at some point into one piece of legislation.

H.R. 256 The David Ray Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009

This is a gun control bill, but it also would add the sexual orientation language to our existing hate crime statutes, for crimes involving interstate and foreign commerce.Just think about the Internet and the free speech about homosexuality that might now be interpreted as “inciting hate crimes” especially if the site sells anything (the “commerce” requirement).

H.R.262 The David Ray Ritcheson Hate Crimes Prevention Act

This is a pork bill, providing victim’s assistance, housing, tax breaks and even family leave to victims of hate crimes. Will act as an incentive to be labeled a victim of a hate crime.

This bill also adds the “sexual orientation” category.

This bill grants $10 million for the next five years for the federal Department of Education to make grants to local schools for “hate crime prevention education.” Imagine what this will open up regarding anti-Christian teaching.

On November 21 the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) released what it calls a “Groundbreaking Report on Health Disparities Based on Sexual Orientation”.

As the DPH press release describes:

“The report revealed significant disparities among people who identified as homosexual or bisexual in the areas of access to care, self-reported health status, anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, smoking, binge drinking, illicit drug use, sexual assault victimization, intimate partner violence, disability, obesity, asthma and heart disease . . . Lesbians were 2.2 times more likely than heterosexual women to be obese.”

In other words, the DPH is forced to admit what everyone has known for a long time. Unfortunately, the extremely destructive nature of homosexual behavior – both medical and psychological – is usually not only suppressed, but is considered completely off-limits for discussion. But ultimately, some of the truth gets out, even in Massachusetts.

The “good” news, according to the report is that . . .

“Gay/lesbian/homosexuals and bisexuals were more likely than heterosexuals to have been ever tested for HIV than their straight/heterosexual counterparts. In addition, gay/homosexual men were less likely to be obese or overweight compared to straight/heterosexual men [probably due to weight loss from AIDS or other diseases?]. They were also more likely to obtain lifetime colorectal cancer screening and to report recent condom use.”

Yuck!

Interestingly, the Massachusetts DPH is probably the most pro-homosexual public health department in America. It’s run by DPH Commissioner John Auerbach, who is “married” to another man. In 2007, Auerbach appeared at a homosexual “youth” event telling the kids that he’d make sure there’s enough HIV testing available for everyone there. In 2005, the Massachusetts DPH helped create the notorious Little Black Book, Queer in the 21st Century, which depicted homosexual sex acts and listed places kids can hook up with homosexual adults.

How will the report’s findings be used?

What does the DPH say the report hopes to accomplish? Unfortunately, this really exposes how politicized the public health profession has become. The report recommends:

“Specific interventions should be developed to work with the bisexual population in these areas. Health officials also hope that the report will stimulate further study on ways to reduce and eliminate health disparities faced by gay, lesbian and bisexual people.”

But they are ignoring the root of the problem. The obvious way to “reduce and eliminate” these health disparities would be to discourage homosexual behavior, and help those currently involved in it to leave that horribly addictive and dangerous lifestyle.  (Instead, we’ll probably see more of “encourage condom use and HIV testing” types of pseudo-remedies.)

Unfortunately, common sense won’t be found even in medical circles these days. But the raw facts will continue to show up. In the meantime, people will suffer.

• Lansing, Mich. » Services at an evangelical church were disrupted by members of an extremist group called Bash Back! An affiliated group claimed it poured glue into the locks of an LDS [Latter-Day Saints] church building near Olympia, Wash., and spray painted its walls. [Note: we went to a Bash Back! website and apparently there is a dispute over whether the Washington attack occurred and if so, whether it had a connection to the lesbian/anarchist group that carried out the Michigan church assault--AFTAH];
• Riverside, Calif. » Forty to 50 signs supporting Proposition 8 were found arranged in the form of a swastika on the front lawn of a Roman Catholic church.
• San Luis Obispo, Calif. » Vandals poured adhesive on a doormat, key pad and window at two LDS churches and peppered a nearby Assembly of God church with eggs and toilet paper.
• Sacramento » Ten area church buildings were vandalized, according to The Sacramento Bee.
• Orangevale, Calif. » An LDS chapel sign and walkways were tagged with the phrases, “No on 8″ and “hypocrites.”
• Arapahoe County, Colo. » The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a case of a Book of Mormon that was set on fire and left burning on an LDS church’s doorstep as a bias-motivated arson.
• Wasatch Front » More than seven LDS churches have had glass doors shattered, six of them by BB gunshots.
• LDS temples in Salt Lake City and Los Angeles » The temples, along with a Catholic Knights of Columbus printing press in Connecticut, all received packages with white powder substances in the mail.
• Syracuse » A Syracuse Junior High seminary was evacuated after a mysterious letter was sent to the building
• Weber State University » A plastic plant was lit on fire inside a Weber State University Institute building after an evening talk given by LDS Apostle Elder Boyd K. Packer.
• Farmington » Farmington police are looking for a person who spray painted “Nobody is born a biggot” (sic) on a concrete wall outside an LDS church.
• A Torrance, Calif.» A man is charged with a felony hate-crime assault for allegedly using an anti-gay marriage lawn sign to attack a gay man wearing a “No on 8″ button
• San Jose, Calif.» Police were called to a house in the southern part of town after homeowners reported their garage had been spray-painted with “No on 8″ messages. The homeowners had signs on their lawn supporting the measure

• Salt Lake City » A man reported his lawn sign, opposing the LDS church’s role in politics, was set on fire outside his home near 900 East and 900 South

This mob assault occurred following the passage of Proposition 8 restoring traditional marriage in California. Homosexual activists are deriding the successful ballot measure as “Prop H8″ (hate)  — but look at the hatred on display below in what is supposedly America’s most “tolerant” city. I went to the Castro (the homosexual district of San Francisco) like we usually do on Friday nights.

Normally, we sit on 18th and Castro, and someone plays the guitar, and we all worship God.

Sometimes a person will yell at us, or maybe a few. Sometimes people will ignore us. Sometimes people will let us pray with them.

This time was not a normal night. It was the first time we’d been back in the Castro to do our normal outreach since California Proposition 8, which defined marriage as “one man with one woman,” was passed. We played the guitar and sang together and worshiped the Lord. After just singing and worshiping God for a while, Roger decided that we should all hold hands in a circle and continue singing. So we did.

Someone (actually a person who came up and hugged and kissed some of us whom he knew from the past) convinced some people that we were there to protest against the “No on 8″ campaign.

Then some guy who was dressed up like one of the sisters — The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a group of men who dress up like nuns and call themselves the spiritual authority of the Castro — took a curtain-type thing (Which I think they use to curse people) and wrapped it around us.

Then a crowd started gathering. We began to sing “Amazing Grace,” and basically sang that song the whole night. (At some points we also sang “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” and “Oh the Blood of Jesus.”) At first, they just shouted at us, using crude, rude, and foul language and calling us names like “haters” and “bigots.” Since it was a long night, I can’t even begin to remember all of the things that were shouted and/or chanted at us. Then, they started throwing hot coffee, soda and alcohol on us and spitting (and maybe even peeing) on us.

Then, a group of guys surrounded us with whistles, and blasted them inches away from our ears continually. Then, they started getting violent and started shoving us. At one point a man tried to steal one of our Bibles. Chrisdene noticed, so she walked up to him and said, “Hey, that’s not yours, can you please give it back?” He responded by hitting her on the head with the Bible, shoving her to the ground, and kicking her. I called the cops, and when they got there, they pulled her out of the circle and asked her if she wanted to press charges. She said, “No, tell him I forgive him.” Afterwards, she didn’t rejoin us in the circle, but she made friends with one of the people in the crowd, and really connected heart to heart.

Roger got death threats. As the leader of our group, people looked him in the eyes and said, “I am going to kill you,” and they were serious. A cop heard one of them, and confronted him. (This part is kinda’ graphic, so you should skip the paragraph if you don’t want to be offended.) It wasn’t long before the violence turned to perversion. They were touching and grabbing me, and trying to shove things in my butt, and even trying to take off my pants – basically trying to molest me. I used one hand to hold my pants up, while I used the other arm to hold one of the girls. The guys huddled around all the girls, and protected them. Soon after, the cops came and stood between us and the mob.

When it was getting more heated, the cops [said warnings] like, “You guys should leave.” and Roger said “We want to stay.” Someone tried to steal my backpack, but I tapped a cop on the shoulder and said “Hey, that’s my bag.” and he got it from him and gave it to me. Others weren’t so lucky. Probably half our team got their jackets stolen. Eventually, as the crowd was getting more and more uncontrollable, the cops were afraid for our lives, so they escorted us to our van. (The cops were very nice to us from start to finish.) Our van was parked pretty far [away] because it was hard to find parking that day. As the cops escorted us, the mob followed us, until the cops formed a line and held off the people so we could drive away.

We took the long way home, just in case anyone tried to follow us. When we got home, we prayed and sang more, and then prayed over each other. Please know my heart. All of what we do is for the Love of Jesus Christ, and the love for those in the Castro. The Bible says to love God, and then love people. We can only love because He loved us first. We can’t hate the people because they are just broken and blinded by the spirit of this age. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities and Powers. It’s not a political thing, we just love the people. This is the raw footage of the walk from 18th and Castro Street to our car. It was only the very tail end of the night and says that we were all about Prop 8… when in reality we had nothing to do with Prop 8 this night.

Envelopes with suspicious white powder were discovered at two Mormon temples, including this one in Salt Lake City, and a Knights of Columbus printing plant in Connecticut — probable “gay” terrorist retribution for the Mormons and the Catholic group’s strong support for Proposition 8 in California. “Queer” intolerance for dissent is out of control — but where are the “gay” leaders reigning in their fanatics? When asked on FOX News today about the escalating anger and protests targeting churches, Joe Solmonese of Human Rights Campaign — which has sought to link Christian pro-family groups to “hate violence” against homosexuals — could barely bring himself to say a negative word against the radicals on his side. Americans need to know: are the Justice Department and FBI watching out for coordinated acts of homosexual “hate violence” and churches, synagogues and mosques?

Counterfeit Marriage and its Counterfeit Movement

With a unified voice amplified several million-fold through the ballot box megaphone, African-Americans have spoken on the issues of marriage, family and human sexuality. Whether young or old, male or female, Democrat or Republican, blacks are justifiably fed up with the deceptive antics of the self-described and craftily contrived “gay rights movement.”

For decades now, well-organized, well-funded and highly influential “gay” political pressure groups have, with impertinence, hijacked the language of the authentic civil rights movement. In what amounts to a sort of soft racism, self-styled “queers” have disingenuously and ignobly hitched their lil’ lavender wagons to a movement which, by contrast, is built upon the genuine and noble precepts of racial equality and humanitarian justice.

An illegitimate offspring of the ’60s sexual revolution, the newfangled “gay rights” cult is today’s postmodern, sex-centric cause célèbre. Its core tenets include, among other things, mandated moral relativism, social androgyny and forced acceptance of a pleasure-based, though demonstrably destructive, lifestyle. Apart from practitioners of “the sin that dare not speak its name,” its devotees are in large part institutional fringe elitists confined to blue-state America who almost universally suffer the insufferable pangs of white guilt.

Like an addict jonesing for a hit, they long for that rush of self-righteous affirmation associated with belonging to something perceived as larger than themselves. Central to the movement’s success is the ability to draft adherents who are easily manipulated through superficial slogans, appeals to emotion via anecdotal parades of horribles, and a mindless propensity to conform to nonconformity.

By drawing artificial parallels between the systematic persecution experienced by blacks over centuries past to the inherent aversion most have toward biologically unnatural, traditionally immoral and objectively perverse sexual behaviors, the homosexual lobby trivializes and diminishes the African-American struggle for civil rights. It’s dishonest and offensive for people who choose to define their identity based upon aberrant sexual proclivities to compare sexual temptation and volitional sexual conduct to immutable and innocuous biological traits such as skin color.

“Don’t compare your sin to my skin,” goes the African-American mantra. Or, as influential black pastor Ken Hutcherson notes, “It has been said loudly and proudly that gay marriage is a civil rights issue. If that’s the case, then gays would be the new African-Americans. I’m here to tell you now, and hopefully for the last time, that the gay community is not the new African-American community.”

Understandably, blacks want all this nonsense to stop. Exit polls indicate that in the Democratic stronghold of “left coast” California, African-Americans – 96 percent of whom voted for Barack Obama – also voted to pass California’s marriage protection amendment (Prop by an overwhelming 70 to 30 percent. As luck would have it, the unprecedented turnout of black voters for Obama very likely tipped the scale and restored the enduring definition of natural marriage to the Golden State. This has made “gay” activists mouth-foaming furious.

A candlelight service to protest the state’s recently enacted gay marriage ban turned hostile Friday night when a woman carried a cross into the crowd.

The crowd chanted, “Go home!” “Nazi!” and “Shame on you!” as organizers pleaded with the crowd to ignore the woman.

“God has given me a message, a word for all of us and it’s fidelity,” said Phyllis Burgess, a Palm Springs supporter of the gay marriage ban.

“I have a right to be here.”

The crowd saw things differently, pressed in on Burgen, ripped the cross from her hands and stomped on it. In the rush, protesters pushed one another and Burgen, who said she would not press charges although she was bruised in the exchange.

We want to know if the Michigan Attorney General is going to investigate and prosecute the twerps that organized this hateful attack — or is the whole “hate crimes” concept a one-way street that serves only politically correct causes like homosexuality? Imagine if a conservative or Christian group stormed a Sunday service of the Metropolitian Community Church, which caters to homosexuals — would there be media outrage and a sense of urgency to prosecute the perpetrators? ‘Bash Back’ Statement on Mount Hope Church Assault:

Bash Back! Raises Hell at Anti-Queer Mega-Church

The Mount Hope Church is a deplorable, anti-queer mega-church in Lansing, Michigan. The church works to institutionalize transphobia and homophobia through several repulsive projects including organized “ex-gay” conferences and so-called “hell houses”, which depict queers, trannies and womyn who seek abortions as the horrors. Mt. Hope is complicit in the repression of queers in Michigan and beyond.

Bash Back! ain’t down with that. And so on Sunday November 9th, about thirty radical queers from Lansing, Chicago, Memphis and Milwaukee disrupted the church’s most well-attended sermon.

At noon, a small group of folks dressed in pink and black, equipped with a megaphone, black flags, picket signs and an upside-down pink cross began demonstrating outside the church. The group was extremely loud and wildly offensive.

The demonstration drew a majority of Mount Hope’s security staff outside to watch them.

Meanwhile, with the guards pre-occupied by the distraction, over a dozen queers had put on their Sunday-best and infiltrated the church’s congregation. At the signal that the guards had been lured outside, the infiltrators sprung into action.

A group stood up, declared themselves fags, and began screaming loudly. Upon hearing the loud interruption, other affinity groups went into action. A team that had been hiding under the pews in the closed-off balcony dropped a banner and pulled back the curtains to reveal “IT’S OKAY TO BE GAY! BASH BACK!”. Another group threw over a thousand fliers to the entirety of the congregation. The fire alarm was pulled. Queers began making out in front of the pastor. And within a matter of minutes, everyone had evaded the guards and made their escapes.

Bash Back! operatives, still hidden among the congregation observed a person screaming that Satan had come to Mount Hope, that the end was here, that the queers were everywhere. She then began speaking tongues. The dumbfounded pastor, after regaining his composure, went on to speak of the of decadent, depraved wolves that menace his flock of sheep.

Let it be known: So long as bigots kill us in the streets, this pack of wolves will continue to BASH BACK!

In 25 years of working in campaigns I have never seen greater hostility, illegal activity and just stunning vandalism by the opponents of Amendment 2.

Since I last reported it to you, they are now stooping lower than low.  And tonight at midnight is the legal deadline for you to make a contribution to do something about it.

The most recent poll commissioned by Bay News 9 has us now with 59% of Floridians in support of 2 —only 1% away from the 60% we need to win. And because we are so very close the opposition has become more desperate than ever because even their own fraudulent messages trying to scare senior citizens are not working.  So they are resorting to anything goes –despicable campaigning.

Our opponents are showing absolutely no respect for the law or the rights of others.  I know these words may sound harsh but this is the reality we face.  Here are some examples of what we are facing just in the last week:

1) Open Vandalism, Shameless Stealing and Widespread Destruction of Personal Property:  Around the state, literally thousands of YesOn2 yard signs have been stolen and or vandalized from private homes and offices.  A Fort Lauderdale pastor reported that he and his son where placing yard signs and opponents were coming right behind him and stealing them while he was watching them.  When the pastor went to approach the man he openly mocked him and gave him the finger.  The signs outside our own office headquarters have been replaced 3 times now. A respected elected official who supports Amendment 2 was at an Obama rally in Kissimmee last night handing out our literature and he was spit upon and physically assaulted by the No on 2 homosexual activists who physically tried to run him out of the rally area.

2) Bogus Lawsuit Filed Against the Campaign: In addition to the elections commission complaint they filed last week, the Red and Blue committee also filed on Monday a desperate and frivolous lawsuit against me personally and against the Yes2Marriage.org campaign.  They are trying to ask the courts to take our powerful One Thing TV ads off the air.  The ad is so effective their campaign is now tanking because of it.  With your help we can stop them..

3) Trying to Scare Seniors Again: The opposition groups are running a campaign ad trying to scare senior citizens into thinking they will not be able to see each other in the hospital if amendment 2 passes.  This has nothing to do with the amendment.  All their ads are filled with lies, false claims and deception.

4) Newspapers Have Shut Out Yes on 2 Op Editorials:  Bishop Harry Jackson and I have written an “Open Letter to the NAACP” addressing that group’s failure to protect black Families by not supporting Yes on 2.  We have asked six major daily news papers to consider printing this special opinion piece.  None of the papers has allowed us to print this editorial and some are not even bothering to give a courtesy return call.  Meanwhile, the special lengthy opinion editorials by our opposition are appearing on a daily basis in all of these same papers.

5) Personal Attacks On Me: The attacks on me personally are now at an all time high.  In addition to suing me personally, the Palm Beach Post reported that my computer was hacked last week and shut down.  The Orlando Sentinel columnists instead of debating this issue of whether “gay marriage” is a good idea have instead attacked me personally calling me a “gay basher” and that I “should be feared” because I believe in marriage.  Blogs galore are hurling insults that are too foul to even repeat in public.  There is a whole website page devoted to trying to demonize me.  The hundreds of e-mails and faxes we receive are filled with hatred, intolerance and malice.  It has been difficult on my wife Olivia for sure.

But despite their open hostility and stunning aggression, the good news is we are still on the verge of winning! That’s why the opposition is resorting to such desperate and dirty tactics. We will not be shaken but we must reach even more Floridians with our message in the final days– and to do that we must have a final surge of funds to compete with our opponents and respond to their deceptive ads.

Felipe Rivera, 43, is charged with a hate crime as well as aggravated criminal sexual assault and other offenses, said a spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney’s office. If convicted, he could face more than 30 years in prison, a source said.

 

According to a spokesman for Cicero police, Rivera and the victim encountered each other at a party Friday night in the 1200 block of South 50th Avenue.

 

“Mr. Rivera got upset apparently because he believed the victim, No. 1, didn’t respond to a female and then, No. 2, somehow winked at him — made what he perceived as a sexual advance,” said Cicero police spokesman Dan Proft.

Rivera then punched the victim in the face, Proft said, and was asked to leave the party. He allegedly waited outside for the victim. According to Rivera, the victim, 37, then propositioned Rivera for a sex act — a claim the victim denies, Proft said.

 

Rivera followed the victim to the outer staircase of a basement apartment, where he removed the victim’s pants and raped him, authorities said. Afterward, Rivera punched the victim in the head, leaving him semi-conscious, then inserted a metal broom handle in the victim’s rectum, sources said.

 

Rivera gave police these details in a videotaped statement, according to Proft. When asked why he did it, Rivera allegedly said it was “because he hates f – - – - – s, and this is what they get,” according to Proft.

 

A spokesman for the state’s attorney said Rivera also shouted “sexually oriented derogatory comments” during the rape.

 

After the alleged attack, Rivera went to his mother’s residence nearby. Because she has an order of protection against him, she called the police, Proft said.

I just spoke with Cicero spokesman Dan Proft, who says that the Sun-Times story is the most accurate he’s read.

In our original commentary (below), I relied on the Trib account which appears to have mangled Proft’s statement so as to assert that the violent assailant propositioned his male victim for sex. According to the Sun-Times, however, the assailant claims that his victim did the propositioning (which the victim denies actually happened). 

Regardless, what we still have with this case is a maniac who sexually assaulted another man, while later claiming to hate “faggots.” Strange. Most men would never think of sodomizing another man, and last I heard anal sodomy was seen as the defining act of male homosexuality.

So, we come back to this: if this criminal — who is so crazed that his own mother put out an order of protection against him — is a violent “gay-basher,” then he’s one with a homosexual problem.

The fanatical “queer” activists who regularly attack me and AFTAH love to imply — like so many hack psychoanalysts – that because I oppose organized homosexuality, I must secretly be ”gay” myself. Columnist John Derbyshire smartly dispensed with such nonsense a few years back on the pages of National Review Online. Believe me: I’ve got plenty of sinful inclinations to overcome in my life; thank God homosexuality isn’t one of them.

Nevertheless, there is a phenomenon of deranged behavior focusing on a problem that is itself a part of the deranged persona, and that appears to be what we have with the now-incarcerated Mr. Rivera, since he practiced the very behavior he “hates.” I hope he gets locked away for a long time. 

We know there is a problem with homosexual-on-homosexual violence (hence the book, Men Who Beat the Men Who Love Them). It seems ludicrous to call such crimes “anti-gay hate crimes” — for use in the “gay” propaganda cycle that feeds off exaggerated spinning of FBI data to imply an outbreak of (straight) “anti-gay violence” that doesn’t exist.

It is even more ridiculous to treat the victims of same-sex rape with greater deference than, say, straight women raped by men — or, conversely, to punish “straight” male rapists of women any less harshly than, say, a “homo-hating” pseudo-straight guy who sodomizes another man in an act of rage – simply because the latter says he “hates faggots.”

All rapes are hate-motivated at their core. “Hate crimes” is an unworkable concept that should be abandoned.

Here are my original comments with redactions based on the better information:

Now here’s an interesting report: a man attends a party with another man, allegedly offers the man cash for sex, then, after the man refuses, he sexually assaults him. Later the assailant tells police that he “hates homosexuals,” and he is charged with an anti-homosexual ”hate crime.”

This appears to be a textbook case of homosexual-on-homosexual violence — regardless of what the alleged assailant, Felipe Rivera, considers his sexual identity — straight, gay, or bisexual.

Our question: what percentage of “anti-gay hate crimes” are actually committed by people who themselves are involved in homosexual behavior? If this Chicago Tribune report is accurate, then this is no typical ”gay panic defense” – whereby a man blames his assault on a homosexual by claiming that the victim first made an unwanted sexual advance toward him — because the alleged perpetrator here offers to pay his victim for homosexual sex and then sexually assaults him.

We also know that some men may secretly (or even not so secretly) engage (or desire) homosexual perversions yet eschew the “gay” label for themselves – so the fact that Rivera told police that he “hates homosexuals” tells us little. He may hate that part of himself drawn to deviant homosexual acts.

Behavior, not self-labels, is what counts: we wonder how many cases like this end up on the FBI’s list as an “anti-gay” “hate-crime” statistic — to be exploited later, ironically, by “gay” activists lobbying for dubious pro-homosexual “hate crimes” laws …

One more question: if same-sex sexual assaults are classified as “hate crimes,” what about men who rape women (or vice versa)? Shouldn’t these sex crimes also be labeled “hate crimes” against women, as they are typically motivated by contempt and misogyny (hatred of women)?  We’ll follow this story closely. — Peter LaBarbera

A Cicero man was charged with a hate crime and sexual assault for allegedly raping a man Friday, Cicero police officials said Thursday.

Felipe Rivera, 43, of Cicero, who allegedly told police in a video confession that he hates homosexuals and the victim got what he deserved, was charged with a hate crime, aggravated criminal sexual assault, sexual assault and aggravated battery. Bond was set at $350,000 Thursday in the Maywood courthouse, a Cook County state’s attorney’s office spokesman said.

Cicero spokesman Dan Proft said a 37-year-old man was attacked as he was climbing an outdoor stairwell to his Cicero apartment about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Proft said a neighbor called the police, who found the victim unconscious and bleeding on the stairwell.

Proft said Rivera and the victim were both at a party in the 1200 block of South 50th Avenue earlier in the evening. Proft said Rivera allegedly punched the man in the face at the party after, Rivera said, the victim “winked at him.”

Proft said the victim alleged he had refused an offer from Rivera to pay him $50 for sex later in the evening. Police said Rivera was asked to leave the party, waited for the victim outside and followed him home.

Rivera was arrested Saturday morning after his mother found out about the incident and called police, Proft said.

He said the victim was treated at a hospital and released.

A new study in the Journal of Urban Health: Bulletin of The New York Academy of Medicine found that 32 percent of gay and bisexual men – nearly one in three – are victims of intimate partner abuse.

Little has previously been researched and documented about the patterns of intimate partner abuse in same-sex male couples. This study’s results provide an important addition to the body of knowledge on this subject, and a call to action for health providers treating men who have sex with men (MSM).

“Men in same-sex relationships experience abuse rates similar to those faced by women in heterosexual pairings,” said lead author Eric Houston of the Department of Psychology, University of Illinois at Chicago. “Intimate partner abuse among MSM does not receive the same attention as it does among heterosexual couples. As a result of the lack of attention, many MSM who need help may not be recognized unless the healthcare provider is appropriately trained and takes time to assess for abuse.”

Here is what I can tell you about the alleged incident at the Arlington County Fair on August 18.
 
I have now spoken to two officers who are familiar with an incident similar to what has been described [i.e., by PFOX--Editor].

 

One officer told me this week he was on patrol at the Fair when a woman approached him and told him a man had knocked over pamphlets at the PFOX booth and assaulted another man there.

 

The officer then spoke to the alleged victim.  He did not want to press charges and therefore no written report was filed.

 

Based on the description the officer was given, he located the suspect at the Fair.  Another officer escorted that gentleman off the Fair grounds.

Arlington, VA (Aug. 28, 2007) — Last week Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) exhibited at the Arlington County Fair in Arlington, Virginia.  PFOX has exhibited at this county fair for the past four years and hands out materials on same-sex attraction and tolerance for the ex-gay community to a hungry public.  A local gay group also exhibits there and distributes materials on gay rights.

As happens every year, gay activists disrupted our booth activities.  They screamed obscenities, threw our materials from the exhibit table to the ground, insisted we recognize their same-sex “spouses,” demanded that PFOX leave, and hit a PFOX volunteer because he is ex-gay.

When we explained that the county’s sexual orientation law allows both the gay booth and our ex-gay booth to exhibit, the unhappy gays insisted that sexual orientation laws on hate crimes and discrimination do not apply to ex-gays — only gays — and no tolerance should be extended to former homosexuals. 

All the gays who stopped by our booth that week insisted that no one could change their sexual orientation from gay to straight, although they knew of people who had changed in mid-life from heterosexual to a gay lifestyle or had changed their gender. 

The gays became infuriated when our ex-gay volunteers testified about leaving homosexuality.  They adamantly refused to accept the ex-gays’ sexual orientation.  One gay man went so far as to hit our ex-gay volunteer because he refused to recant his ex-gay testimony.  We summoned a police officer, who ejected the gay man off of the fairgrounds.  Our ex-gay volunteer decided not to press assault charges against the gay man because he wanted to turn the other check as Jesus had done. 

This is not the first year that PFOX has had to summon the police for protection from gay activists.  Although the gays have their own exhibit booth, they steadfastly refuse to accept the presence of an ex-gay booth or support equal access.  Also disturbing is that several of the gays identified themselves as educators who would ensure that our teen materials do not reach schoolchildren as gay materials do. 

From years of exhibiting at public events across the country, PFOX has learned:

Leaving homosexuality is like leaving a cult – many gay activists feel betrayed by ex-gays and hate anyone who supports self-determination when it comes to the ex-gay community.  Although God gave us free will to choose our own lives, whether good or bad choices, gay activists would take free will away from us and force ex-gays back into the closet.

Gay activists fear factual information that PFOX makes available to teens.  Gay activists have had a monopoly over our youth for so long that they resent any competing information and label anything contrary to their pro-gay ideology as “dangerous” to youth. 

Gay activists do not support hate crimes or sexual orientation anti-discrimination laws if those laws include ex-gays.  “Hate crimes” is another word for hate against ex-gays while protecting gays.  Therefore, we must work to ensure that all sexual orientation laws at any level specifically include former homosexuals or be eliminated altogether as discriminatory.

PFOX is the only organization distributing ex-gay educational literature to the public, including public schools.  We are the only ex-gay organization almost everywhere we go.  Almost every day we are on the front lines suffering harassment and injustices merely because we demand our equal rights. 

The public eats up our information because they have never been exposed to factual truth about same-sex attractions.  Teens especially are eager for our educational literature.  But our brochures and flyers cost money to print.  We also have to pay for exhibit fees and travel.  If you would like to help with costs, please make a tax deductible donation to:

In 1974, when I left the States to teach in “godless” France, the cultural revolution was a Left coast/San Fran’ phenom’, and America was still “Christian.” When I returned in 1991, I was in for culture shock, but still never imagined what lay ahead.

One man warned us. In 1978, Pastor Charles Mcllhenny recorded his experiences after his church fired a homosexual organist (When the Wicked Seize a City). Church property was repeatedly vandalized and his family almost killed by a firebomb. “Law enforcement” never found the culprits. Mcllhenny used San Francisco as a striking example of what America might become. Are we “goin’ to San Francisco?” as the 60s hit song asked?

Last May, San Francisco elected Theresa Sparks president of its Police Commission. Theresa is a transgendered Vietnam veteran, twice-divorced and father of three grown children. In 2003 s/he was both the chief executive officer of the sex-toy retailer Good Vibrations, and the city’s Woman of the Year. It may be “only San Francisco,” but remember that Nancy Pelosi, congresswoman from San Francisco, is third in line for the presidency. As the 1967 song predicted: “All across the nation such a strange vibration…There’s a whole generation with a new explanation…”

The “new explanation” appears in a May 2007 Gallup poll:

57% of Americans now view homosexuality as “an acceptable alternative lifestyle” (34% in 1982)

Here is this “whole new generation”:

75% of 18-34 year olds, and 72% of Democrats consider homosexuality an acceptable alternative lifestyle

Homosexuals represent only 2% of the population, but culture unwinds once sexuality is “liberated.” The worldwide unwinding is fanned by the media. The Los Angeles Times recently ran a front-page article on gays in sport, concluding that it is no big deal. The BBC World Service series on “Coming Out,” communicated a similar no-big-deal message. Is it a big deal?

I see the change everywhere I go. In October, 2007, I will teach on homosexuality in Bogotá, Colombia, a city that wants to become the gay capital of the world. In Brazil I learned that the legislature was criminalizing “anti-homosexual speech.” Homosexuality has a powerful voice in the EU and at the UN. Much of the world is changing. Here’s how it happens:

Language Changes: “Free speech” is curtailed by those who define “hate speech.” Members of the European Parliament from France, the Netherlands and Italy vilified Poland as “hateful” and “repulsive” for refusing to promote homosexuality in schools.

Education Changes: In 2007 the California Senate passed Bill SB 777, prohibiting all classes, school activities, textbooks, and teachers from instruction that “reflects or promotes bias against” homosexuals, transgenders, and bisexuals in public schools (including kindergarten). The executive committee of the National Education Association is urging its members to make sexual orientation training a requirement for those earning a license to teach.

Therapy Changes: The American Psychological Association is considering a denunciation of any attempt by therapists to change sexual orientation.

Church Changes: In 2004, Gene Robinson, a homosexual priest, living publicly with a male lover, was ordained bishop in the Episcopal Church, setting off a fire-storm of controversy in the world-wide Anglican communion.

Public Service Changes: Dr. James Holsinger, a quality candidate for Surgeon General, committed one fatal error- he once opposed a decision that sought to name a practicing lesbian as an associate pastor. Holsinger’s fate may indicate that the place of biblical Christians in government service is in jeopardy. Law Enforcement Changes: How a transgendered promoter of sex toys enforces public morals in the Bay Area may become a prototype as gay and lesbian judges are appointed all over the country.

In all these areas the 2% determine how the 98% must behave. How, do Christians live in a “San-Francisco” world? What should YOU do?

Vote (but don’t count on it);

Understand sexuality in its theological context, as a part of the defense of the honor of God as Creator and the dignity of man in the image of God, in order to make sense of the Gospel message in today’s world;

By the power of Christ and his Spirit, preach and witness to this Gospel publicly for all you are worth, both as churches and as individual believers. We cannot allow our mouths to be closed. As Paul said: “Pray for me that I might open my mouth with boldness…to speak what I must speak” (Ephesians 6:20);

If necessary, go to jail. A Brazilian Christian in Rio this Spring asked me: “What should we do in light of this new law prohibiting anti-homosexual speech?” I replied: “Are you ready to go to jail?” which is precisely where Paul was!

Do you still say, “This will never happen in my town. I don’t live in San Francisco!”?

 Mary Stachowicz: not the right kind of victim to the media

We favored the death penalty for alleged homosexual Nick Gutierrez for murdering Mary Stachowicz — and then effectively blaming her for “attacking” him (see story below) — just as we called for the death penalty for Matthew Shepard’s killers. But isn’t it interesting how the media have devoted so much coverage over the years to the heinous crime against Matthew, and so little to that against Mary? (Associated Press failed to even cover Gutierrez’s trial.)

How can reporters, producers and editors justifty their double-standard? These days it can be presumed that the Fourth Estate will lavish coverage on “gay” victims, while pious victims like Mary often get ignored. And it seems the media have even less interest in the latter when the murderer is a homosexual — imagine AP ignoring a story about a ‘christian’ who killed a lesbian and stuffing her in his crawl space? I cannot.

In a way, the media’s blatant pro-homosexual bias in covering terrible crimes shows the perils of the “hate crimes” concept in general – both affirm a politically correct hierarchy of victims that is unjust and un-American, no matter how well-intended. Surely, press bias also helps to perpetuate the lopsided prosecution of “hate crimes” against approved classes of victims (like Shepard) by mobilizing government resources through the pressure-generating power of the media spotlight. 

The homosexual lobby named its “thought crimes” bill the “Matthew Shepard Act” — even though he wasn’t killed “just because he was gay,” as the liberal myth goes. But there will never be a “Mary Stachowicz Act” because in the eyes of the same liberals, she was not the right kind of victim.

Nicholas Gutierrez, murderer of Mary Stachowicz, deserves death penalty but gets life in prison

CHICAGO — Nicholas Gutierrez, who in November 2002 gruesomely murdered Mary Stachowicz, a devout Chicago Catholic mother of four, was sentenced July 3 to life in prison, even though his crime made him eligible for the death penalty. The sentence was handed down by Cook County Circuit Judge William Lacy following sentencing arguments made by defense and prosecution attorneys the previous week.

“I think the judge was fair, but as the daughter of the victim, knowing what he [Gutierrez] did to my mother, he absolutely, 100 percent deserved the death penalty,” Angie Ruffolo, Mrs. Stachowicz’s daughter, told the Chicago Tribune.

Last November, Gutierrez, who had worked with Mary Stachowicz at the F. J. Sikorski Funeral Home on Chicago’s Northwest side, was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering her. Days after her murder, authorities found Stachowicz’s raped, battered, stabbed and strangled body in a crawl space beneath the floorboards of Gutierrez’s apartment above the mortuary.

In addition to being vaginally raped, sodomized, and sustaining 10 fractured ribs, Mary suffered 11 stab wounds in the head, face, and neck due to Gutierrez attacking her with such ferocity that the tip of the steel hunting knife used to commit the crime was bent. Afterward, he stole money from her purse, attempted to hide the killing, and “even ate meals at the table he placed over the floorboards covering Stachowicz’s body,” according to a June 27 Chicago Tribune report.

During Gutierrez’s sentencing hearing the week of June 25, prosecutors argued strongly for the death penalty, describing Gutierrez as a man who had sexually abused a female relative and another young girl when he still was a child.

Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Vicki Kennedy said the case “screams out for a sentence of death.” Gutierrez “went on with his life, while her family members are going in and out of that funeral home,” she said. “All the while, Mary’s family was hanging pictures in the neighborhood that she was missing.”

Gutierrez’s attorneys argued that he did not deserve the death penalty because he had been physically, emotionally and sexually abused as a child. Before being placed in the state’s custody at about age 10, he was raised by a mother who was an alcohol and cocaine addict, they said. One witness, Carol Garza, testified that she had done drugs with Gutierrez’s mother in his home three or four times a week for a decade. At those times, Nicholas Gutierrez was locked in another room of the apartment, Garza said.

According to the Chicago Tribune, defense attorney Crystal Marchigiani argued that Gutierrez “acted under the influence of an extreme emotional disturbance” the day he killed Stachowicz. But during opening trial arguments last year, Marchigiani employed what Americans For Truth called an “anti-Christian panic defense,” telling jurors that Gutierrez killed Stachowicz after she confronted him for having homosexual sex, and that Stachowicz had instigated the attack by following Gutierrez upstairs and bullying herself into his apartment.

Prosecutors characterized the supposed facts underlying that defense as fabricated.

Defense attorneys also argued that Gutierrez was not eligible for the death penalty because he may have sexually assaulted Mrs. Stachowicz after she died, saying that if the assault occurred after death, it should not be considered rape and that he should not be sentenced to death if he did not commit a felony in addition to the murder, according to the Tribune.

During sentencing arguments, Angie Ruffolo held a photo of her mother, Mary Stachowicz, and told the newspaper, “Everyone is talking about how graphic it [Mary’s murder] is,” adding that the defense called the crime scene a “bloody mess.” “I need to think about her, how beautiful she was.”

Mrs. Stachowicz’s children described their mother as a supportive woman who cooked holiday meals and took them to church every Sunday. Ruffolo told the Chicago Tribune that her mother would have given Gutierrez the money he stole from her, if he had only asked. Ruffolo added that Mary never got to see her three sons get married or meet her five grandchildren, one of whom was born the day Gutierrez was convicted of her murder.

In her victim impact statement, Ruffolo told Gutierrez, “You took all of that away. Why couldn’t you take your own mother and leave mine alone?”

Mary’s youngest son, Danny Stachowicz, 26, told the court that his mother was his best friend and confidant and that he could always count on her. He said he once dreaded the prospect of getting up and going to church, but “Now what I would do to wake up and see my mom dressed for church.” He said he cannot even look at the church he grew up attending, St. Hyacinth, which is directly across the street from Gutierrez’s former apartment, without thinking about how his mother was stabbed, raped and tortured.

Danny Stachowicz told Gutierrez, “People say time heals all wounds. I am here as proof to show nothing heals wounds like this. I can only hope your life is lived in agony.”

At the sentencing, Bernard Sarley, another of Gutierrez’s attorneys, said that Stachowicz’s children were “fortunate enough to have as loving, as kind a mother as a child could possibly have,” and cited statements they had read to the court as proof.

But some of Mary’s relatives said that after enduring hours of graphic testimony detailing how she was killed, the defense’s tactic of using the family’s own words to defend Gutierrez was what hurt them most at the sentencing.

“It was wrong for them to turn our victim-impact statements against us,” said Mary’s son, Chris Stachowicz. “It’s disrespectful to my mother and to our family.”

“It is difficult to determine how ‘justice’ was rendered in this case,” said Susan Jordan, who organized a candlelight vigil in memory of Mary Stachowicz on her death anniversary in 2005. “I attended the opening and closing sessions of the Gutierrez case – along with Peter LaBarbera. I was absolutely sickened by the details of the gruesome murder of Mary Stachowicz. I find it especially troubling that the defense attorney used words from the Stachowicz family to portray Gutierrez as a ‘victim’ because of his difficult childhood.”
