Above is the twisted 2009 promotional poster for the annual Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco — a huge outdoor event celebrating sadomasochism and various perversions — at which hundreds if not thousands of men walk the streets fully or partially naked. At Folsom (scheduled for Sunday, Sept 27), it is commonplace to see men being publicly whipped and flogged to the delight of onlooking crowds. Nothing illustrates Savage’s quotation better than San Franciscans’ double standard on “tolerance.” Even many straights in the city take pride in its laissez faire embrace of Folsom and other perverse spectacles that to date have been coddled by the police, who do not enforce decency laws.

Curiously, even as they enable public nudity, the SFPD does a poor job of protecting dissenters’ rights in the city. Last year, the police failed to use their authority to allow a small Americans For Truth-led pro-family press conference condemning Folsom to go on civilly outside City Hall. Our outdoor press conference was shouted down in classic leftist fashion by veteran “queer” militant Michael Petrelis — as police ignored our request to give our free speech a forum to be heard. (In most big cities, police separate opposing protesters so that each side can exercise its free speech rights.) As you can see, Petrelis and fellow “queer” activists were allowed to shout over our press event with impunity; note his immature mimicking of oral sex and emphatic endorsement of nudity and sex in San Francisco’s streets.)

Proceeds from Folsom go to the anti-Catholic hate group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence — which doubles as a pro-homosexual “charity” in San Francisco. The “Sisters” are homosexual men painted in drag who call themselves nuns (with perverted names) and who are insulted when you don’t treat them as a serious “religious order”; see photo of “Sister” at right and click HERE for more on the notorious church-bashing “charity.”

Let’s review … “Tolerance” for open-air perversions and public nudity — but none for peaceful, pro-family dissenters. Mean, sadistic sex in the streets, as cops stand idly by and politicians look the other way. Mean and intolerant activists like Michael Petrelis. Heck, even the “charities” are mean and blasphemous in the City by the Bay. (That includes the shocking, annual “Hunky Jesus Contest” mocking Jesus Christ every Easter Sunday.)

Dear Readers,

I commend to you my friend Dr. Michael Brown’s and the Coalition of Conscience’s response to the “gay pride” movement in Charlotte, N.C. In a speech last week to Reclaiming Oklahoma for Christ, I said that the appropriate Christian response to homosexual/”trans” activism and homosexual strugglers is a tightrope walk — balancing a witness for truth on the one side and the gracious love of Christ for sinners on the other. I too often fall off that tightrope, but Michael hangs on it as well as any pro-family leader I have observed in the last 20 years. (My only cautionary note is Brown’s use of the term “homophobia” [see this excellent NARTH analysis] — an artificial construct that is now so elastically defined that almost any rejection of homosexualist goals (including same-sex “marriage”) can be and is deemed “homophobic” by “gay” activists and the liberal media. That said, his point it correct: it is wrong to fear and hate men and women trapped in homosexuality — people who need God’s love and grace.)

How I wish that decades ago Christian leaders in Chicago had taken Dr. Brown’s “God has a better way” approach of a mobilized witness against “proud” homosexuality and the dangerous agenda that goes with it. Perhaps if they had, we wouldn’t be seeing the annual, raucous, debauched homosexuality “pride” celebrations on Chicago streets with attendees (”gay” and straight) numbering in the hundreds of thousands. The Church of Jesus Christ in America has largely abdicated its role as a bold witness for truth and Biblical morality in the culture. (And who says proclaiming the Gospel and confronting sexual sin agendas must be mutually exclusive?) I challenged Oklahoma Christians to be as aggressive in defending God’s truth about homosexuality as self-described “queer” activists are in advancing their lies (enumerated below). GOD HAS A BETTER WAY RALLY, CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

We are here today to reach out and resist –– to reach out to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community with compassion, as neighbors and friends and fellow-workers, and to declare God’s great love for GLBT [gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender] people. And we are here to resist the gay activist agenda and to send a message to the nation.

As followers of Jesus, we first confess our own sins –– our lack of ardent love for homosexual men and women, our lack of compassion for their struggles, our adding to their sense of rejection through insensitive words and deeds.

We acknowledge the fact that homophobia is alive and well in some churches, and we renounce and repudiate that hateful and destructive attitude.

Our love also compels us to speak the truth, and we do not believe that all sexual orientations should be celebrated.

We do not celebrate the fact that some people believe they are women trapped in men’s bodies;

We do not celebrate the fact that two men or two women cannot reproduce their own unique offspring and that same-sex families guarantee that a child will never have either a mother or a father;

We do not celebrate the fact that some people choose to surgically mutilate their God-given organs and must take hormones for the rest of their lives just to be at peace with themselves;

We do not celebrate the sexual confusion that exists in many young people today, to the point that they can only identify themselves “as genderqueer”;

We do not celebrate the pain and brokenness that exists in the lives of many of those attending Pride Charlotte today –– completely apart from societal rejection –– and we proclaim to our GLBT friends that God has a better way, that there is a place of wholeness and transformation to be found in Jesus. And we are here for the long-term to help them on that journey.

And because of our sense of justice and rightness, we take strong exception to the gay activist agenda. We watch its trajectory, we see where it has gone and where it is going, and we say, “It stops here in Charlotte.”

Since gay pride events have been rallying points for GLBT activism, we take our stand here today and declare:

We don’t believe that elementary school children should be taught to find their “inner-trannie” (meaning their inner transgender identity) as advocated in GLSEN’s training materials.

We don’t believe that it is in the best interest of our society to seek to eradicate gender or to multiply it exponentially.

We completely reject the Los Angeles Unified School District Reference Guide when it states that Gender identity “refers to one’s understanding, interests, outlook, and feelings about whether one is female or male, or both, or neither, regardless of one’s biological sex.”

We don’t believe it is good or right for four-year-old children to have their preschool teachers read them books like One Dad, Two Dads, Brown Dad, Blue Dads or to be lined up by sneaker color rather than gender so they don’t feel “boxed in.”

We don’t believe in “Queering Elementary Education,” to use the title of a well-known book.

We believe it is outrageous when an African American woman is fired from her university position of vice-president of human resources because she writes an editorial objecting to the concept that sexual orientation is equivalent to skin color.

We believe it is outrageous for the media to cover up the gay identity of a sexual predator who repeatedly raped his adopted, five-year-old African American son and offered him for sex through the internet – for fear of making homosexual couples look bad.

We believe it is outrageous for the mayor of San Francisco to welcome warmly a public fair featuring nude, sado-masochistic displays, and to do so in the name of “diversity.”

And what does it say of our country today when our president, in the White House, could say “We are very proud of you” to a man who leads an organization devoted to making harder core pornography more readily available and who says that bestiality is fine as long as the animal doesn’t mind?

We don’t believe in fining a Christian photographer in New Mexico for politely declining to shoot a lesbian commitment ceremony, or punishing an Anglican bishop in England for choosing not to hire an openly gay youth worker, or for putting a lifetime ban on Christian leaders in Canada, forbidding them from expressing the biblical teaching on homosexual practice and threatening them with imprisonment.

We don’t believe in laws that could jail the owner of a Christian bookstore for choosing not to hire a cross-dresser as a receptionist.

We don’t believe in a Hate Crimes bill that is so flawed that even the ACLU is concerned that it could restrict freedom of speech.

We don’t believe it is right for major Charlotte-based companies like Bank of America and Wachovia and Duke Energy to pour tens of thousands of dollars into a radical organization like the Human Rights Campaign, an organization that has stated that supporters of male-female marriage are “right wing extremists” and that mandates that businesses must have special bathroom accommodations for employees undergoing sex-change surgery.

We are saddened by the fact that some of those who came out of the closet forty years now are now trying to put conservative Christians in the closet.

We don’t believe in tampering with the foundations of human society –– male-female marriage and family –– and creating a new institution previously unknown in human history.

We utterly reject the new theologies that advocate “Queering Christ” and writing “Queer Commentaries” on the Bible, and we say to Charlotte and the nation, “By God’s grace, it stops here.”

So, we say “Enough is enough” to the destructive goals of gay activism, and we say to the GLBT community, “Jesus loves you and God has a better way!”

This is footage from New York City “Folsom Street East” sadomasochistic “block party” in Manhattan (nudity is covered up) — shot by a New York volunteer for Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). The event featured public perversions and nudity like this man tied to a St. Andrew’s cross — who, with genitals exposed, is being “electro-tortured” by another man wielding a remote control device.  Note the willing “victim” writhing in pain after his “torturer” clicks the remote. Such open public nudity and lewdness is a violation of several New York laws, yet police did nothing to intervene in this event.

Police later told AFTAH that they normally do not monitor private “block parties” ($10 gained entrance to Folsom East), but due to citizen complaints they will be more strict before issuing a permit to “Folsom Street East” organizers next year. Note: this NYC event is a copycat of the sadomasochism-celebrating “Folsom Street Fair” held annually in San Francisco. Memorial Day is right around the corner (May 25th), and in Chicago that can only mean homosexual “leathermen” by the thousands taking over the Chicago Hilton Hotel for the annual twisted sadomasochistic perversion-fest known as “International Mr. Leather” (2009 logo at left). Every year, Hilton Hotels profits off of this unbelievably debauched event — as either the Chicago Hilton or the historic Palmer House Hilton hosts it. Pornographic vendors by the dozens hawk hard-core pornography in the “leather market” vendor area that runs parallel to IML.

Every year, Americans For Truth reminds our readers of how incredibly vile this “gay” event is, and every year homosexual activists play “Kill the Messenger” by alleging that this writer is a secret “leatherman” himself. Baseless, ad hominem attacks are apparently the last refuge of proud, pro-perversion propagandists.

Here is what a prominent homosexualist website, Gay.com, says about IML and sadomasochism in its piece, “The Read Truth about the Leather Community”:

IML provides an opportunity to look at why people like leather/kink. Some of the basic reasons people are involved in the leather community include:

…Leather is about politics
The leather community is about radical celebration of our sexuality. Much like Stonewall and the drag community was a political statement, so too the leather community is a visible confrontation to the straight community about gay sexuality. It is a sex affirming, public statement in a world that shames and shuns sexuality.

I don’t know what planet this fellow is from — does America “shun sexuality”? Hardly. This is one of the most sex-obsessed cultures on earth. So what he really means is that some of us, still, “shun” homosexuality — that is, we regard same-sex sexual behavior as sinful and shameful.

But not the leathermen. Their movement is gaining adherents in the straight world and is in the vanguard of the ongoing Sexual Revolution — declaring “Leather Pride” (their version of “gay pride”) in behaviors that are almost incomprehensibly evil. You’ll have to look up these vile acts using the Urban Dictionary links, but here is what one “regular and longtime IML attendee” named Jeff says about “International Mr. Leather” (in a book by Joseph Bean titled, “International Mr. Leather: 25 Years of Champions”):

I travel a great deal and have experienced most of the large leather events that are produced to entertain, excite, and enthrall the participants. None of them hold a candle to IML. There is a spark; a warmth; a flame that ignites all who experience the event. It does not matter if one is a “sash queen,” “muscle monster,” “super sadist,’”or “pigboy,” If you are into [f---k--g], fisting, felching, fruitcakes, feathers or fish you can feel welcome and find your favorite fetish represented here.

Jeff goes on to say:

The staffs of most of these hotels [Congress, Hyatt, the Palmer House -- each of which has hosted IML in Chicago in past years] also are a constant surprise. In the most decrepit of the hotels, the staff oftentimes overreacted to the sexual and flamboyant goings-on. In the most sophisticated of the hotels, the staff oftentimes joined in.

One wonders if the staff at Hilton Chicago will be “joining in” on the perversions, since the hotel and its owners have obviously made an accommodation with the extremely debauched behaviors that they will allow to take place on their premises. (This includes the sale of the the sickest, hard-core homosexual and “fetish” porn on earth in the Leather Market, as we documented last year when IML was held at the Hyatt Regency.)

There is another facet to IML that saddens the heart of Christians: these are men that have declared their own way — their own “truth” based on a lie — apart from God and completely rejecting cultural and Christian norms. They delude themselves that in their faux, deviant “masculinity.” Gay.com writes:

The images evoked by the term “Leatherman” reflect a celebration and recognition of the masculine. In many cases, the celebration of the classic male symbols is a rejection of the stereotypes of what a “gay guy” is about.

And here you see the uncanny ability of the homosexual movement to flip good and evil, and normalcy and deviance, on their heads. There is nothing “masculine” in two men having sex with each other — in fact it is the polar opposite. It’s about as “masculine” as a butch lesbian pretending to be the “man” in the relationship. Real men don’t have “sex” with other men. Who cannot not see the pathetic overcompensation of these men with their bare-butt leather pants, chains, whips and “tough-guy” macho-veneer?

Perhaps deep down their rejection of femmy homosexuality is a recognition of the shame of male-on-male sex in general. But rather than turn from it, they have embraced another, “tougher” version of the same sexual sin. In doing so, they throw up the white flag and give up on one of life’s great challenges — finding a mate, getting married, raising children and ushering in a new generation.

None of it is true, no matter how much twisted pleasure is had by the “kinky” IML attendees. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death (Proverbs 14:12).

Maybe there’s a leatherman or two or 10 among the IML crowd who sees the shallowness and shame of it all, who senses that conforming to the deviant world of homosexual S&M, and giving oneself over to shameful perversions in the guise of liberation and pseudo-masculine camaraderie — is nothing but a house built on sand.

Christ is a better way. Humble yourself and repent to Him — and walk away from this dishonoring spectacle. He will forgive you and set you on a better course. To the reprobate men assembled at IML in the Hilton Chicago I say: there IS a heaven and a hell, and I can assure you that you will not enjoy the punishment of the latter. “Leather Pride” flag for sadomasochists shows how far men will go to justify their sin.

I found this homosexual slang word — “thruple” — perusing atheist homosexual leatherman Joe Jervis’ “Joe. My. God.” website. Jervis is the New York City blogger-perv who, in a fit of pique after AFTAH exposed and helped cancel a homosexual “pig sex” orgy in a Washington, D.C., hotel, wrote an especially nasty piece (even by “gay” standards) attacking me under the title: “Peter LaBarbera wants to have sweaty mansex with every single one of you.” (I’m not kidding.) How does one respond to such demented and malicious (not to mention self-hating) tripe?

Anyway, it got me thinking: the reaction of most normal people to the mere mention of “pig sex orgy” is outrage and shock that such a vile thing even occurs at all. (It’s like NAMBLA — which used to march in “gay pride” parades: conservatives couldn’t make this stuff up if they tried.) But Jervis and like-minded deviance defenders react by lashing out in cruel, kill-the-messenger fashion at me and AFTAH for writing about it (with their favored theme being, of course: “LaBarbera is a homo”). It’s all very bizarre for the uninitiated, but no less so than “thruples,” fisting, twinks, rimming, M-2-Fs, “power bottoms,” “fag hags,” “daddy-boy relationships,” “transphobia” or countless other twisted behaviors and ideas lurking under the “queer” umbrella.

Another observation: our “gay” activist critics couldn’t be more off base when they accuse us of exaggerating the GLBT movement’s, well, queerness. Just take a quick read of Jervis’ “live blog” account of the 2006 “Black Party” — an annual S&M oriented gay “circuit” dance party in New York (saturated with drug use and deviant sex on the premises), which he attended with his “thruple” buds. Or check out this online video in which Black Party partygoers describe what they witnessed at the 2007 event [WARNING: graphic language]. Both demonstrate that Americans For Truth barely skims the surface in exposing homosexual perversions and the general dysfunctional weirdness of modern homosexuality.

The family is obviously horrified, not knowing if the contents contained any form of venereal diseases or AIDS virus — let alone just the mere thought of what an innocent child had just swallowed. The hotel is now facing [a lawsuit], and the suit contends that Homewood Suites and its subsidiaries, Hilton and Blackstone, put the boy at risk by leaving the \”life threatening\” item in the room and subjecting the boy to an increased risk of contracting a \”sexually transmitted disease, including HIV or AIDS, or some other, potentially life-threatening, potentially fatal illness.\”

When orgy organizers are furious at the triumph of decency and public health over their perversion plans, we at Americans For Truth are very happy. More coming on this pro-family victory….

As AFTAH’s original story made clear, the orgy group, “MAL Maneuvers” (affiliated with Fort Troff) was telling its followers to go to the Doubletree at midnight on Saturday, and advertising all the revolting devices that would assist them in their unspeakable perversions. The Doubletree Hotel sales director, Felix Barreras, confirmed to me that the hotel had a “legal, binding contract” with “MAL Maneuvers.” Barreras said the hotel did not know about any of the sexual perversions planned, and that sex acts would not be allowed in a conference room, which is a “public space.” MAL Maneuvers is held in concert with the larger “Mid-Atlantic Leather (MAL) Weekend,” a sadomasochism celebration held at the Washington Plaza Hotel (202-842-1300).

Based on the notes and calls AFTAH received from pro-family advocates who had called the Doubletree to complain, it is clear that that some Doubletree Hotel staffers have been deceiving people by telling them that they called the wrong hotel – i.e., saying that the Washington Plaza Hotel is hosting the leather event – but NOT telling them that a separate group (MAL Maneuvers) had booked their hotel, the Doubletree, for an orgy. As AFTAH reported, I sent Barreras a copy of the e-mail from MAL Maneuvers (Fort Troff) discussing the plans for the orgy at Doubletree.

Yesterday, I received a call from a “Tom” on the staff of Doubletree who — while not wanting to be quoted — reiterated that sex acts would not be allowed in the conference rooms. He said the area would be used for “exhibitors.” However, Klingenschmitt’s queries with other Doubletree staff uncovered a different story (Doubletree staff are not returning calls to AFTAH). Moreover, per the claims below, hotel staff are misinforming some pro-family critics by telling them that no MAL attendees are even staying at the Doubletree — another falsehood and the opposite of what Barreras told me. Amidst all the mixed messages, it appears that the orgy — or some event with MAL Maneuvers, whose “piggish” purpose is to pull a group of men together to “[sodomize] their brains out” — is still going to go on in the Doubletree conference rooms — unless Doubletree or parent company Hilton elects to shut it down due to public pressure. One more note: The phenomenon of homosexual orgies at hotels is not new. Here’s some damning clarification…I’ve done more digging on this story, and found it to be true, and the Doubletree Hotel Managers are boldly lying to the public.

Upon hearing the internet rumors of a homosexual pig-sex orgy scheduled at the Double Tree Hotel in Washington DC during the inauguration, I called their hotel manager Jim Wasser at 202-232-7000 to verify the facts.  Mr. Wasser repeatedly denied the rumors, denied his hotel is hosting any homosexual groups, and said no conference or sleeping rooms were reserved for any such group, or any such activity.

Now two different sets of Doubletree hotel employees confirmed to me that their own hotel manager Mr. Jim Wasser is a bald-faced liar.

I called Mr. Jim Wasser back to call him a liar, and he transferred me to his supervisor Thomas Toliver (the hotel manager), who did not return my detailed message.  So I left another detailed message with the very top hotel General Manager Rodney Bernard, who also did not return my call.

I went to the Castro (the homosexual district of San Francisco) like we usually do on Friday nights.

Normally, we sit on 18th and Castro, and someone plays the guitar, and we all worship God.

Sometimes a person will yell at us, or maybe a few. Sometimes people will ignore us. Sometimes people will let us pray with them.

This time was not a normal night. It was the first time we’d been back in the Castro to do our normal outreach since California Proposition 8, which defined marriage as “one man with one woman,” was passed. We played the guitar and sang together and worshiped the Lord. After just singing and worshiping God for a while, Roger decided that we should all hold hands in a circle and continue singing. So we did.

Someone (actually a person who came up and hugged and kissed some of us whom he knew from the past) convinced some people that we were there to protest against the “No on 8″ campaign.

Then some guy who was dressed up like one of the sisters — The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is a group of men who dress up like nuns and call themselves the spiritual authority of the Castro — took a curtain-type thing (Which I think they use to curse people) and wrapped it around us.

Then a crowd started gathering. We began to sing “Amazing Grace,” and basically sang that song the whole night. (At some points we also sang “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus” and “Oh the Blood of Jesus.”) At first, they just shouted at us, using crude, rude, and foul language and calling us names like “haters” and “bigots.” Since it was a long night, I can’t even begin to remember all of the things that were shouted and/or chanted at us. Then, they started throwing hot coffee, soda and alcohol on us and spitting (and maybe even peeing) on us.

Then, a group of guys surrounded us with whistles, and blasted them inches away from our ears continually. Then, they started getting violent and started shoving us. At one point a man tried to steal one of our Bibles. Chrisdene noticed, so she walked up to him and said, “Hey, that’s not yours, can you please give it back?” He responded by hitting her on the head with the Bible, shoving her to the ground, and kicking her. I called the cops, and when they got there, they pulled her out of the circle and asked her if she wanted to press charges. She said, “No, tell him I forgive him.” Afterwards, she didn’t rejoin us in the circle, but she made friends with one of the people in the crowd, and really connected heart to heart.

Roger got death threats. As the leader of our group, people looked him in the eyes and said, “I am going to kill you,” and they were serious. A cop heard one of them, and confronted him. (This part is kinda’ graphic, so you should skip the paragraph if you don’t want to be offended.) It wasn’t long before the violence turned to perversion. They were touching and grabbing me, and trying to shove things in my butt, and even trying to take off my pants – basically trying to molest me. I used one hand to hold my pants up, while I used the other arm to hold one of the girls. The guys huddled around all the girls, and protected them. Soon after, the cops came and stood between us and the mob.

When it was getting more heated, the cops [said warnings] like, “You guys should leave.” and Roger said “We want to stay.” Someone tried to steal my backpack, but I tapped a cop on the shoulder and said “Hey, that’s my bag.” and he got it from him and gave it to me. Others weren’t so lucky. Probably half our team got their jackets stolen. Eventually, as the crowd was getting more and more uncontrollable, the cops were afraid for our lives, so they escorted us to our van. (The cops were very nice to us from start to finish.) Our van was parked pretty far [away] because it was hard to find parking that day. As the cops escorted us, the mob followed us, until the cops formed a line and held off the people so we could drive away.

We took the long way home, just in case anyone tried to follow us. When we got home, we prayed and sang more, and then prayed over each other. Please know my heart. All of what we do is for the Love of Jesus Christ, and the love for those in the Castro. The Bible says to love God, and then love people. We can only love because He loved us first. We can’t hate the people because they are just broken and blinded by the spirit of this age. Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against Principalities and Powers. It’s not a political thing, we just love the people. This is the raw footage of the walk from 18th and Castro Street to our car. It was only the very tail end of the night and says that we were all about Prop 8… when in reality we had nothing to do with Prop 8 this night.

SLAVERY IS BACK — IN “PROGRESSIVE” SAN FRANCISCO (click on photos, twice, to enlarge). The “partners” in an African-American “master-slave relationship” mug for the camera (genitalia is covered up) outside the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco Sept. 28, 2008. San Francisco police — hence law and order — are totally compromised in this “queer” Mecca, where outlandish behaviors and various human degradations — including men urinating on and in one another — are celebrated as mere “orientations.” Apparently it’s no big deal in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D) congressional district to see men strutting around the city completely naked — and Pelosi won’t denounce it (or help to stop it) for fear of alienating her powerful homosexual constituency. We were told that there are other public events in San Francisco that “tolerate” full nudity — but Folsom alone joins that with its pornographic promotion of homosexual sex clubs and depraved, promiscuous behaviors (e.g., orgiastic “pig sex”), which constitute a public health hazard and help spread disease worldwide.

Folks, this year we thought it would be beneficial for other pro-family leaders and advocates to join Americans For Truth in venturing to the world’s most famous “queer” Mecca, San Francisco, to observe the incredible goings-on at the annual “Folsom Street Fair.” Folsom is a sadomasochistic street celebration occupying 13 blocks — featuring rampant full public nudity and public whippings — all countenanced by city officials and the SFPD, which also recruits at the “fair.” Like last year, we witnessed sex acts on the streets, but a Folsom spokesman assured us that they are cracking down on that. Folsom is also the third largest outdoor event in California — drawing homosexual, heterosexual and bisexual people who are into various sexual “fetishes,” such as the “master-slave” duo above.

This was also the first year that we worked with other pro-family advocates to protest Folsom: the St. Joseph’s Men Society fielded a few men with our sign across the street from one of the busy entrance points to the “fair.” (See photo at right; St. Joseph’s president Anthony Gonzalez is holding the “Vote YES on Prop 8 sign in his right hand while talking to a reporter.) Thanks to all who helped out at the protest and our coalition press conference — where we were shouted down by intolerant homosexual militants as police stood passively by.

As we’ve said many times, we find it newsworthy that this and another extreme “leather” event occur annually in the district of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D), who is third in line to President of the United States. Over and over we were told by San Franciscans (leather advocates and otherwise) that Folsom is just part of what makes this a uniquely tolerant and quirky city — and if we didn’t like it, why don’t we just stay away? The answer is that we want people across the USA and the world to understand what “tolerance” has become in this Democratic-led city — and where that “gay agenda” that homosexual activists keep telling us doesn’t exist ultimately leads. Is This Headed for a Town Near You?

How does one put into words what I witnessed on Sunday, September 28th in San Francisco?  How does one explain men walking down city streets totally nude, bare-breasted and bare-bottomed women, public whippings and sex acts?  San Francisco’s Folsom Street Fair was just as depraved as reports I’d read of past ‘fairs.’ Why would a city allow this to happen? We are told it’s ‘tolerance’ that requires them to turn a blind eye to such depravity. Although they do not call it depravity, they call it being ‘progressive.’  What new acts will ‘tolerance’ allow in the future?

Before we even entered the barricaded-off 13-block area we began encountering nude men.  It was somewhat refreshing to see two young men trying to escape the assault on their senses.  As they tried to slip down an alleyway to get away from the Folsom Street Fair area, they encountered a nude man who had just walked passed a San Francisco Police Department mobile command unit and returned to his van parked in the alleyway outside the fair.  One of the guys said, “Another nude dude.  Let’s get out of here.  We don’t need to be assaulted like this.”  At the ‘charity whipping’ site, I also heard comments such as: “This is wrong.”  “This just isn’t right.”  Not everyone agrees with all that goes on at the Folsom Street Fair.

There were many youth at the fair, but also men and women ‘who were old enough to know better.’ We saw some children and a lot of people with their dogs, even though there was a warning against bringing children or pets because of the adult-oriented themes. I wondered why the organizers equated children and pets. There was also a sign at the main entrances which said “Nudity is Illegal.”  Naked individuals walked right by, apparently without noticing the signs.  The San Francisco police stood by and did nothing. One 29-year-veteran of the force said during an interview that they were told to ignore what was going on.  “You don’t know the political climate,” he told us.

As Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth, Linda Harvey of Mission America and I snapped pictures and video footage, we approached the ‘Pan’s Devils’ Horns’ booth. That’s where trouble began as some asked Peter if he was with the religious right. Peter answered, “Well, I’m not from the left.”  At that point one man began following us shouting and pointing “This is the religious right. They’ve come to take our civil rights away. They are taking pictures. They want to shut down Folsom Street Fair. They want to ban same-sex marriage.” He followed us for several blocks shouting and pointing, others were beginning to look our direction.  At one point he shoved Peter and Peter told him not to do that again or he’d call the police. We left the fair at the first exit we came to, then re-entered at another location to once again document the depravity. A side note here:  there were a lot of ‘normal looking people’ taking pictures.

Many heterosexual couples, both married and unmarried, attended Folsom Street Fair. There were many ‘gay couples,’ across the spectrum in age.  We were told that many bisexuals were there. Ironically, HIV prevention booths abounded – I guess they haven’t read Centers for Disease Control reports which point to men who have sex with men as the category with the largest number of HIV/AIDS cases.  The CDC has also said that bisexuals are the bridge for AIDS into the heterosexual community.

Additional booths included the San Francisco Public Health Department (two large penises were outside the booth and young women were lining up to have their pictures taken with them), there was a booth where one could get free Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B shots, the San Francisco Chronicle and New York Times had booths, PFLAG (Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbian and Gays) was also there.  Peter was able to get a picture of two naked men in front of the PFLAG booth. The San Francisco Police Department also had a recruiting booth right in the middle of all this illegal activity. There was a booth where religious sex toys were for sale.  Some of these were named God’s Rod, Jesus’ Baby Butt Plug and Jesus on the Cross.

I also noticed several “No on Prop 8” stickers being worn including by the attendant of the PFLAG booth.  Our detractors said there was no way we could connect the opponents of Prop 8 to Folsom Street Fair – I think they made the case for us.  Many Obama shirts and stickers were seen throughout the ‘fair.’

Booze flowed freely and the smell of dope was everywhere.

For about the last hour Peter interviewed Susan Wright, the founder of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) and the spokesperson for Folsom Street Fair. Linda and I both taped the interview.  Susan made the claim that for those involved in BDSM (Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, Masochism) it was their sexual orientation. In the future NCSF will work on getting BDSM added to sexual orientation laws.  (proof that the addition of sexual orientation to laws opens the door to special rights for those involved in more and more bizarre lifestyle choices)  She said that any sexual activity should be allowable between consenting adults. [Editor's note: Wright said that includes people who like to be urinated on and other revolting and unhealthy practices as part of their "consexual" sexual activity.--LaBarbera] Ms. Wright did not believe that those under 18 are able to consent and did not support efforts to lower age of consent laws.  She opposes child pornography, but other forms of pornography and obscenity are okay. Proposition 8 – the Marriage Protection Amendment — is strongly opposed by her.

How quickly America has fallen into this pit.  Susan Wright views today’s BDSM movement as where the so-called gay rights movement was twenty years ago.  [A transcript of the Wright interview is forthcoming.] She is predicting that in that time span Bondage, Discipline, Sado Masochism will become a civil right protected by law. Can you imagine the sex ed classes of that day?  School children will be taught that, if your partner consents, it is okay to urinate and defecate on him or her; it’s okay to whip or tie up your partner . . . anything goes as long as it is between consenting adults.  If a parent doesn’t want their children exposed to those ideas, tough, they are infringing on the civil rights of those engaging in BDSM.

SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., Sept. 30 — The need to pass California’s Proposition 8, upholding marriage between one man and one woman, has never been greater in my view after spending an afternoon at the San Francisco Folsom Street Fair on September 28.With well over 100,000 attendees, it’s unfortunately the third largest street event in California.

Folsom Street displayed the fully ripened rotten fruit of ‘tolerance’ and showed where it takes us: toward public nudity, public sex and consensual sex violence. The goal of same sex ‘marriage’ is the legitimate-appearing sister with an ugly evil twin: the movement toward total pansexual license throughout our culture. And concern for the effect on kids? Out the window.

We observed many buttons and signs urging ‘no’ votes on Prop 8 and also many signs supporting Barack Obama. This is the kind of wise public policy we can anticipate as a Folsom Fair mentality gains legitimacy, which it clearly has in San Francisco.

Along with the heads of several other pro-family groups, I spent four excruciating hours walking through the fair, documenting its horrors. One might ask, why bother? Two reasons. Here in San Francisco, most no longer have a problem with such outlandish behavior. These radical, misguided and lost people need to be challenged out of their comfort with this depravity. Can any of them be pulled from this fire?

But local officials seem entrenched in the endorsement of depravity. Mayor Gavin Newsom issued a letter last week congratulating the Fair on its 25 year anniversary. U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, third in line for the presidency, represents San Francisco but she has yet to utter a word of criticism against the Fair, even with its history of virulent anti-Christian blasphemy.

A second concern, at least as important, is the need to warn the rest of America: sit out this dance with the homosexual agenda, and Folsom Street and its offspring will be on your doorstep, beckoning your children, within a short time. Already, some of these elements—nudity, sex acts, sado-masochism– are popping up in the growing number of street parties and ‘gay’ pride parades around the country.

The folks in San Francisco are woefully out of touch with mainstream America. Do you find whipping, being tied up (bondage) and master-slave role playing just normal variations of sexual behavior? We didn’t think so. But we had a chance to talk with the spokesperson for a national sado-masochism group, Susan Wright, who believes conservatives are few and far between, greatly eclipsed by a majority who accept these behaviors. She also thinks sado-masochism is an inborn “sexual orientation,” worthy at some point of legal recognition. In other words, some people are genetically wired to desire being whipped or chained for sexual pleasure. Current sexual orientation policies could be utilized to establish this new identity category, she believes.

What we witnessed at the Fair was almost beyond belief. Half or more of the crowd consisted of homosexual men, some fully nude. The smell of marijuana was everywhere. Masters and their ‘slaves’ strolled about. One man and woman were wrapped in pythons. Many college age kids and young adults were present.

We witnessed at least one open sex act, and many more episodes of male-to- male groping. Several vendor areas featured sado-masochistic acts. At one, they held a ‘charity whipping.’ The Fair itself donates much of its revenue to charity, which evidently excuses the perversion. Some goes to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the twisted men-in-drag so infamous for mocking Christianity, heterosexuality and the Catholic church. The ‘sisters’ collect the entrance fee donations at the Fair gates. When I asked for an interview, one of them declined when he learned I was with a conservative Christian group.

So at the Society of Janus whipping booth, we witnessed a girl and a guy tied up and flogged. The girl, nude from the waist up, looked like she was in real pain. There was a huge group congregated around this area. I was truly sickened in an atmosphere of palpable spiritual evil.

At other booths, blasphemous sex toys were on sale. One could purchase items named after the Father, Jesus, Mary and so on. Homosexual pornography was available everywhere. And one vendor, ‘Pan’s Devil Horns,’affixed horns onto the heads of eager fair-goers.

It was at this booth that we experienced an encounter with the truly dark side, as we were spotted and identified as Fair critics. A tall, scantily- dressed older guy pointed at Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth, and shouted, ‘It’s the religious right! They want to shut down the Fair! They’re here to take away your rights and to stop gay marriage!’ A sea of heads turned as this man followed us relentlessly for several blocks and continued to shout and point. He shoved LaBarbera, who told him to stop or he would call the police. When asked what his name was, our harasser replied, ‘Beelzebub!’ Indeed.

Another episode of overt spiritual warfare occurred after we exited the Fair to avoid our pursuer and re-entered at another gate (the Fair encompasses thirteen city blocks). We spotted a group of what appeared to be young teens laughing and dancing, apparently quite intoxicated. One boy was dressed as a girl. We approached them and asked if we could talk. One insisted he was eighteen; another said twenty. They looked more like fifteen or sixteen.

In an extended conversation with the ‘eighteen-year-old,’ I was told his parents didn’t care what he did. He held a triple X-rated ‘gay’ porn DVD evidently obtained at the Fair. Yet he was eager to talk to me, insisting he did not want to be homosexual and had tried to stop since he was eleven. I challenged him: then why are you here? Do you really want to stop? If so, don’t come to events like this. He said he just couldn’t help himself. I gently urged him to re-think his identity—that God had made him a guy, wonderfully able to have a relationship with a girl. He nodded. ‘I know,’ he said.

Just at that moment, before we could continue, the youth’s ‘boyfriend’ began screeching insults and obscenities at me. ‘You’re an *&##!’ He continued this screeching rant, growing louder and more out of control, until finally, a passer-by said, ‘Oh, leave her alone!’ We never continued the dialogue, because the group of boys disappeared into the crowd.

We spoke with police twice, after noting their consistent failure to detain any of the naked men strolling by. I asked a policeman why they didn’t do something about the nudity. He told us that his supervisors had given instructions to leave it alone. We got truly mixed signals about the legality of public nudity and public sex acts. Liberty Counsel researched California law and found that three California state laws (Sections 311.6, 313 and 314 of the California Code) applied to public indecency, with jail time of up to six months. And signs going into the Fair announced, ‘Nudity is Illegal.’ With so many openly nude men, this was almost comical.

Confusion or deception abounds. We were told by Susan Wright, our sado-masochism activist, that nudity is not illegal. One TV reporter asked why we focused solely on Folsom Street, since there’s a huge race called Bay to Breakers in San Francisco in the spring where many of the race participants, both men and women, are fully nude. So much for the rule of law in California.

In years past, young children were observed in the Folsom Fair crowd. Our group only spotted one stroller with a child this year— one too many– but there were definitely many teens.  Signs and written notices at the entrances gave heightened warnings about the attendance of children, stronger than previous years, perhaps due to criticism by pro-family groups.

Among other vendors was the San Francisco Department of Health, with two huge penises in their booth, presumably so their public health oversight could be taken seriously. AIDS education groups were also present, using taxpayer funds wisely.  Also on hand was one of my personal favorite groups, PFLAG, Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. While we will not be able to show them to you in a pro-family context, it was easy to photograph nude men posing for cameras in front of the PFLAG booth. PFLAG is a consistent advocate of homosexuality and gender change among teens and even children.

The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle had booths also, casting aside all pretense of objectivity.  And the San Francisco Police Department had a recruiting booth, so apparently the blind can continue to lead the blind.  I wonder: were nude men welcome to fill out applications?

By 6 pm, the vendors were closing down, intoxicated and high attendees were staggering away, and trash was blowing everywhere. We were wrapping up an extended interview LaBarbera had with Susan Wright. It was surreal, talking with an apparently coherent official spokesperson for this depravity. She firmly believes that children should not be exposed to this, that there are ethics about sexual experimentation and sado-masochism, that all these radical behaviors can be ‘managed’ carefully. I felt like shouting at her: look around you. This dark and depressing climate is the predictable result of ‘progressive’ ideas.

This de-humanization is actually regressive. There’s nothing new here: it’s primitive tribalism and the sins of the Old Testament pagan nations reincarnated, spiraling downward into barbarism. Only the sane and discerning can save California and the rest of America from its debased exports.

Christ came to save people from drowning in their own excess, but in the City by the Bay, drowning is not only apparently acceptable, it is eagerly pursued. So sad.

Picture this: a group of conservatives standing on the steps of the City Hall of San Francisco, holding a news conference. Several homosexual couples, dressed to the hilt, are also present with relatives/friends in tow, posing for cameras, following their same-sex “marriages.” We, however, are holding signs supporting traditional marriage and a huge banner that says, “Stop Public Nudity and Street Orgies.”

We aren’t exactly given the keys to the city.

Reporters are present from the San Francisco Chronicle, the Examiner, and a TV station. And somehow, homosexual activists have gotten our press releases, too, because they show up with neatly printed signs: “Say No to Anti-LGBT Bigotry” and “Equality in Marriage.”

This is the scene on September 26, 2008, as Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth, Diane Gramley of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania, Anthony Gonzalez of the St. Joseph’s Men’s Society and I, along with a few other sympathizers, take a very public stand against the Folsom Street Fair and in favor of Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative that, if passed, will affirm traditional marriage, overturning the ruling from the CA Supreme Court in May that allows these couples to believe themselves legally married. If Prop 8 does not pass, same-sex “marriage” could become legal throughout the United States if an activist federal court backed up by the Supreme Court misapplies the Full Faith and Credit provisions of the Constitution.

As Peter LaBarbera begins the press conference with some prepared statements, five or six aggressive homosexual activists attempt to shout him down. Some chant, “Shame! Shame! Shame on you!” which continues for a half hour. Peter proceeds nonetheless. Then Michael Petrelis, an AIDS activist, steps up next to Peter and attempts to take over the platform. Declaring his rights of free speech (while attempting to deny us ours), he waves pictures and shouts incoherently about homosexual hangings in Iran.

Finally, the police come forward and urge Petrelis to allow us to continue, and he steps aside, for a time.

Peter’s message decries the upcoming Folsom Street Fair, which has received the written endorsement of Mayor Gavin Newsom. Our group also holds up an enlarged copy of the letter of congratulations to the Folsom Fair, written on the mayor’s official letterhead. Folsom Street Fair officials earlier in the week threatened LaBarbera with a lawsuit for publicizing the mayor’s endorsement. Legal counsel has determined such a suit would be baseless.

When Peter finishes, I step forward to speak. The clamor continues. My prepared remarks go out the window. I speak for several minutes about the concern I have for the children who were photographed at last year’s Fair witnessing naked men in sex acts. I discuss California’s moral pollution and child corruption. The interruptions and mockery, by this city of tolerance, continue.

Diane Gramley speaks also, followed by Anthony Gonzalez, both urging the city to re-think its embrace of immorality. Both receive the same rude treatment. I am now holding one end of the huge banner. Many people are taking pictures and taping the press conference—I am not sure who all these people are. At several points, individuals confront me and we have a discussion off to the side. One African-American “gentleman” gets closer and closer to me, shouting about how I am a bigot and hate gays, and I attempt to deny this, repeating that he did not know me and that I hate no one. Finally I ask a policeman to get this man out of my face, and the officer speaks to the man, who melts into the growing crowd.

A young bicyclist also gives me a choice finger gesture and shouts the “f” word at me over and over. He then says he hates our God. I tell him, “No, you don’t. Don’t say that.” I tell him I’ll pray that God will ignore him saying this. He shuts up. He looks like he’s either on some type of drug, or he’s about to cry, or both.

Peter LaBarbera moves to the side for an interview with a TV station, and as he does so, our AIDS activist friend takes center stage again, blocking our banner. He shouts about our bigotry and the Iran thing. So I move in front of him, blocking him and holding a “Yes on Proposition 8” sign. I am too close to him, so the policeman asks me to step a few feet in front of him, which I do. The activist steps to one side; so do I. He moves to the other side; so do I. He starts laughing and asks me if I want to dance. I give up and step aside, smiling a bit myself. Then after the police approach him again, he moves away.

Many side conversations begin at this point. Peter is engaged with four of the hecklers in a bold but peaceful debate. I talk for about 15 minutes with a young guy and gal who stop on their bikes. He was raised in a Southern Baptist church, it turns out, but has left all this behind. At first mocking, their attitude changes and it ends up becoming a witnessing opportunity. Finally, still seeing same-sex couples filing in and out of City Hall, we pack up our signs and leave.

The worst is yet to come, for in two days we will attend the Folsom Street Fair to enter the gates of hell— men engaging in sado-masochistic sex acts fully nude to the witness of thousands of people, on the Sabbath Day. I am told it resonates with a true spirit of evil. Yet we have seen the web site and the booth space allotted to the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, the San Francisco Police Department and even one “Christian” church.

In LaBarbera’s conversations with the our hecklers, he tells us later that none of them had any objection to the Folsom Street Fair, not even children being present (if their parents bring them). Perhaps this doesn’t represent all the people of San Francisco. But perhaps it does.

Later, we ask each other, “In all that crowd, did anyone come up to you expressing words of support?” All our answers are the same: no.

Below is “Sister Mary F. Poppins,” a member of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence –the “F” standing for the F-bomb. The “Sisters” is a group of mock transvestite “nuns” that works directly with Folsom every year and raises money for charities. The “Sisters” claim they are not anti-Christian, that they don’t mock nuns, and that they are a serious “religious order” — but they are despised by faithful Catholics. Perhaps this is what passes for religion in San Francisco. The “Sisters” has branches across the country; Sister Mary [F--king] Poppins is with the Los Angeles “order.”

Although Folsom organizers say that their volunteers disallow and discourage actual sex on the streets, it occurs. It would be amazing if it didn’t, wth all the exposed phalluses. Susan Wright of the Coalition for Sexual Freedom — a sadomasochism advocacy group — told us that all lewd acts were banned at the street fair and that Folsom voluteers were on the lookout for such behavior. We saw less of this happening than I witnessed last year, although it is very likely that we missed lots of sodomitic interactions like this at the fair, which covered 13 city blocks:

San Francisco politicians voted to ban the sale of cigarettes in city drug stores — while they extol the Folsom Street Fair with its illegal public orgies, celebration of hyper-promiscuous homosexual “pig sex,” and promotion of disease-spreading gay sex clubs like “Blow Buddies” and Steamworks. Meanwhile, Folsom doubles as an AIDS fundraiser and the San Francisco Department of Public Health has two booths at the event — go figure.

Statement by Peter LaBarbera, President, Americans For Truth, at press conference condemning San Francisco Folsom Street Fair, Sept. 26, 2008, San Francisco City Hall:

I want you to forget for a moment that the four people who stand before you are religious or that we represent conservative organizations diametrically opposed to the GLBT movement.  Discount that three of us come from outside the Bay area and put aside, if you can, the stereotypes that some of you have of the so-called “Religious Right.”

Now consider what we are here to expose and criticize.  Every year – in fact, twice a year now – San Francisco plays eager host to street fairs like the Folsom Street Fair this Sunday that feature the following (most of which I have personally witnessed as a critical observer):

•    Rampant public nudity including men walking the streets in nothing but their socks and sneakers;
•    Public street orgies in which men engage in heinous sex acts – as depicted on these enlarged photos [blow-ups of AFTAH web photos like those HERE and HERE] — as thousands of fairgoers walk by;
•    Public sadistic whippings, acts of “consensual” degradation including men urinating on one another – for pleasure — and “master-and-slave” partners or perverse arrangements in which one partner plays the role of an animal, led around on a dog-collar by his “master”;
•    Blatant anti-Christian bigotry – e.g., the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” — transvestite mock “nuns” who work closely with Folsom; and religious-themed “sex toys” sold by vendors;
•    Public health hazards: Folsom promotes local gay sex clubs like “Blow Buddies” and Steamworks, a Berkeley bathhouse where men go for anonymous sexual encounters with other men (including condomless, “barebacking” anal sex) that spread diseases;
•    Police blame their inaction amidst all the illegal, debauched acts on politicians who tell them not to intervene or enforce the law. At the same time, the SFPD recruits at this sordid affair [the police have a booth at Folsom again this year] — an all-time low and embarrassment for men in blue everywhere whose mission is supposed to be “law enforcement.”

As our nation deals with a severe economic crisis – in the swirl of intense media glare – America faces an equally grave moral crisis that flies under the politically correct media’s radar. In the name of “tolerance and diversity,” we are casting aside all boundaries, some dating back to the beginning of recorded time. In that sense, redefining marriage outside its natural male-female state — and  Folsom’s shocking, police-protected public perversions — are mere markers of a nation in steep decline, a nation that is leaving God behind.

It is no coincidence that the man who took it upon himself four years ago to illegally and radically redefine marriage – Mayor Gavin Newsom – now enthusiastically welcomes the Folsom Street Fair with its unbelievable public depravities – an event that makes San Francisco a subject of ridicule and opprobrium the world over.

Why is it that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi – who considers herself a faithful Catholic — refused to denounce the blatant anti-Christian bigotry of last year’s Folsom Street Fair with its artwork turning da Vinci’s “Last Supper” painting of Christ and his disciples into a sadomasochistic, fetish-celebrating farce?

And how is it that a city that ostensibly cares so much about protecting citizens’ health that it bans the sale of cigarettes in pharmacies, still allows the proliferation of sex clubs where men plop down ten bucks or so to engage in anonymous, reckless sexual encounters with complete strangers? We here today say, close down “Blow Buddies,” Steamworks and other disease-spreading gay sex clubs — and in the process help preserve the lives of homosexual men, not to mention the female spouses of men on the “down low.”

There is no excuse for any city – no matter how “tolerant” – to allow the public sex and nudity documented on these and countless other photos. The way back from anarchy is a return to enforcement of the rule of law. No special interest group – including homosexuals – deserves the “special right” to redefine nature and marriage itself and put its wants above the law.

Anthony Gonzalez of the St. Joseph’s Men’s Society speaks at pro-family press conference at the San Francisco City Hall — denouncing the uber-perverse Folsom Street Fair, which will occur Sunday in the “gay” Mecca. Earlier, homosexual militants led by veteran “AIDS activist” Michael Petrelis sought to disrupt our press event. Petrelis and other “queer” advocates defended public sex on city streets and even said parents should be allowed to bring their young children to Folsom — despite the rampant public nudity and street orgies at the annual sadism-celebrating fair.

SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., Sept. 26 — Well, folks, this is what it boils down to in the nation’s “queer” Mecca: the same homosexual activists who have no problem tolerating public nudity, sex acts and sadomasochistic whippings on their city streets could not tolerate a simple pro-family press conference on the steps of City Hall.

Yes, the “Gaystapo” tried to shout down our press event this morning — prancing in front of our speakers, chanting that we were “bigots” and shouting over us throughout. Right off the bat, veteran homosexual “AIDS activist” Michael Petrelis jumped in front of me and our big banner that read, “Stop Public Nudity & Street Orgies” — demanding an answer as to whether I oppose ”gays being hanged in Iran.” When I said yes, I oppose that, Petrelis was not appeased, and continued to jump in front of me and generally be obnoxiously disruptive (a “gay” militant specialty, it seems).

Maybe the SFPD is not used to people taking on homosexual activism, but the same police who allowed us to set up near the City Hall made no effort to separate the censorious “queer” militants from us and prevent them from disrupting our press conference. This is the fair way to approach controversies and in most cities, I think, this is how police would have handled the situation. The idea is to allow each side to express its views, thereby honoring the First Amendment (and real tolerance). In other words, as I told Petrelis, you’re free to hold your own media event — but you are intolerant if you insist on shouting down ours. This is a civics lesson that many on the Left just can’t seem to learn.

Curiously, even members of the “media” joined in the catcalling — including a rotund fellow shooting pictures for a publication called the San Francisco Sentinel. A few non-”gay” media showed up, including a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle (which, with the New York Times, has a booth at the Folsom Street Fair). We’ll see what kind of stories they run if any.

Interestingly, after Petrelis got the answer to his question, I asked him one of my own: does he support allowing public nudity and orgies on San Francisco city streets? Not hesitating a second, he shouted that yes, he does. (We’ll have his exact remarks for you later.) In fact, none of the angry homo-fascists who were busy disrupting our free speech opportunity agreed with us (or would say so anyway) that public nudity and public sex is wrong and that California’s decency laws should be enforced.

Wow, call me naive, but I was expecting that at least one reasonable guy from the “other side” of this Culture War would agree with us that, yes, strutting around buck naked and engaging in fellatio on public streets is not a fundamental “right” — even in San Francisco! By the way, California Assemblyman Mark Leno (D) posed for a photo in front of our anti-public-nudity sign; I shouted out a question to him, asking if he thought public nudity and sex on city streets is acceptable, but he did not answer. (No suprise there: Leno wrote an even more enthusiastic welcoming letter to Folsom than Mayor Gavin Newsom.)

What about the children?
Worse than our loud opponents’ support for public sex was that not one of them — in a post-press conference discussion – would agree with me that children should be banned completely from the raunchy Folsom Fair, even if their parents want to bring them there (as happened last year; see young boy in black jacket in the photo above). One woman, presumably a lesbian activist, would not accept my solution that police could simply bar entry to the Folsom Fair of any minor at the entry areas to Folsom.

The homosexual crowd was agitated to the point of distraction at our three small “Vote YES on Prop 8″ signs in support of California’s proposed constitutional amendment defining marriage as what it is: between one man and one woman. I don’t get it: were they thinking we would not voice support for the campaign to preserve historic marriage in California, or was it just that we expressed our pro-marriage sentiments at an event not designed specifically to defend Prop 8? As I explained to one strident opponent, yes, we still believe that there is a Homosexual Agenda, and yes, we believe that both the radical Folsom Street Fair and the revolutionary “gay” redefinition of marriage are part of that agenda.

Anyway, homo-fascism is alive and well in San Francisco, and “tolerance gone wild” is the norm, at least for the decidedly intolerant homosexual militants who gathered in front of our press conference to yell at us about our supposed intolerance. We’ll soon have more photos and another firsthand report from Linda Harvey, and next week a story on the dreadful Folsom event.

Pelosi has refused to condemn the debauched Folsom Fair in her district, which features:

Now why would Folsom Street Fair organizers not want the world to know about (Democratic) Mayor Gavin Newsom’s effusive support for their (unbelievably depraved) event? Folsom’s attorney wrote AFTAH to demand that we take down this Folsom welcoming letter and a gross ad (see below) from the Sept. 28 event’s raunchy “Official 2008 Program Guide.” Are Mayor Newsom and the Democrats embarrassed about supporting Folsom?

Well, I guess that despite those black-and-blue “Leather Pride” flags, the homosexual sadomasochists aren’t exactly “proud” of their perversions after all.  At least they don’t want the world to know about what they do in places like San Francisco — just like the homosexual activists hate and mock AFTAH for exposing their very popular excesses (bathhouses, MSM promiscuity, etc.) and the consequences thereof.

On August 28, Americans For Truth received an intimidating letter from San Francisco attorney Jeffry Gibson of Goldstein, Gellman, Melbostad, Gibson & Harris, LLP, representing the Folsom Street Fair. Gibson wrote:

“[D]emand is made that you forthwith (within 48 hours of the date of this letter) remove from your website (and any other publications in which you have reproduced them) those two unpermitted properties which were illegally copied without permission. Failure to do so will result in no further warnings or demands, but legal action against you which will seek both the statutory penalties allowed by law as well as recovery of Folsom Street Fair’s attorney’s fees and costs.”

The two “unpermitted properties” in question are a grotesque ad in the Folsom Street “Official 2008 Program Guide,” and, curiously, an official letter from San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (D) — a public servant — that appeared in the same guide — extolling the Folsom fair to attendees. (Both are reproduced again here, with the ad’s nudity covered up.)

The problem for Folsom Street Fair organizers is that they are apparently ignorant of “Fair Use” law. AFTAH is within its rights to highlight Folsom’s (utterly grotesque) materials, especially if we are commenting critically on them. As you can see from below and through the links on our site, it features men walking around fully nude and engaging in public homosexual orgies on the streets of San Francisco (as the police stand idly by).

The “mainstream” media have a double-standard when it comes to Republicans versus Democrats linked to radical fringe groups or events. Democratic ties to radical leftist groups like the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, or libertine extremist events like the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco, rarely garner huge media attention — while GOP ties to extremists often create scandal. Perhaps this imbalance in coverage is lessening a bit (e.g., Jeremiah Wright) now that there is a powerful TV network (FOX News) and “new” web-based media outlets that do not follow the Left’s lead. Still, the liberal-left benefits tremendously from the media’s non-coverage of their radical wing.

Below is full-page ad on page 60 of the Folsom Street Fair 2008 official “Program Guide” (nudity and website address covered up). Mayor Newsom’s welcome letter to Folsom Street Fair participants is on page 16 of the same program (see below). It just doesn’t get any sicker or more extreme than Folsom, so why don’t Democratic politicians like San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (top photo) fear being associated with this vile event, and why does House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) refuse to denounce it?

It would be hard to envision a more controversial event than the sadistic “leather” Folsom Street Fair — with its well-documented rampant public nudity and police-tolerated homosexual orgies on city streets — or so it would seem, anyway, if more Americans knew about it. The following welcome letter from San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom (D) appears in the newly-released official Folsom Street Fair “Official 2008 Program Guide.” The “street fair” will be held in San Francisco on Sunday, September 28, and Americans for Truth, Mission America, American Family Association and other pro-family groups will be on hand to document the public indecency and officially “tolerated” filth.
