It’s rare when I agree with (pro-homosexual-”marriage”) Chris Matthews, the fast-talking host of the MSNBC program “Hardball” — but here he hits the nail on the head. At a March 24 book signing in Framingham, Mass., Matthews was “ambushed” by video-camera-wielding activists with the pro-homosexual, leftist group Faithful America. They badgered him about having Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council, on as a repeat guest on “Hardball.” Here’s Matthews’ response [more commentary after the video]:

Silencing “hate”?
Needless to say, Faithful America justifies its blacklisting campaign against Perkins on the basis of Family Research Council being (mis)labeled a “hate group” — by fellow left-wingers at GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and the Southern Poverty Law Center.  [See Faithful America's Youtube comments HERE.] Perkins is a good man who ably and articulately defends the historic Judeo-Christian sexual and marriage ethic, for which he is rewarded with the usual vitriol by embittered homosexual activists and bloggers. Anyone who has seen Perkins debate on TV can see he is not “hateful” in the least — nor is the respected family organization FRC (where I once worked as a cultural analyst).

Do you see what is happening? The intellectual cowards on the Left — puffed up by a compliant media and suffused with enough “gay pride” and arrogance to presume that their aberrant sexual/gender ideology has NO LEGITIMATE OPPOSITION — are busier than ever trying to bully the media into joining their “Pro-Gay-Only” crusade. It is despicable, but worse: it is a grave threat to American liberty. Because when the media en masse kowtow to censorious activists — a road on which they are quite far along with the Homosexual Lobby — accountability, reason and fairness are jettisoned, paving the way for ever more reckless and extreme pressure campaigns against the dreaded “haters.” (That would be you, me and just about anyone who takes a public stand against homosexual behavior or “gay” agenda goals like same-sex “marriage.”)

Chris Matthews: I watched them deal with Buchanan [referring to MSNBC's recent firing of conservative commentator Pat Buchanan]….I don’t believe in fatwas. I don’t believe in silencing people. I don’t believe in it, OK? I want Rush Limbaugh on the air. I want him on every day. I want people to hear it. I want everybody to hear all the arguments; it’s a free country.–

“Faithful America” activist: We want a progressive–

Matthews: You want to silence people! You want to silence people [stronger emphasis].–

“Faithful America” activist: We want a progressive Christian …[unclear]–

Matthews: …What channel do you want Tony Perkins on? What channel would you like him on?

“Faithful America” activist: Well, I’d prefer that he’s not–

Matthews: See, you want to silence him!

“Faithful America” activist: It would be great if he is going to be on, to have a progressive Christian [on opposite Perkins]…

Matthews: [Perkins] doesn’t hold out that homophobic stuff on my show, he never does it…

“Faithful America”: But when he’s on your show, you lend legitimacy to the things that he says off your show.–

Ratcheting it up
Thus we behold the ratcheting up of the “Anti-Hate” rhetorical lynch mob. They rail fanatically against “misinformation” and “homophobia,” even as they cynically misinform the public about decent, pro-family advocates like Perkins – blaming them for causing youth suicides and smearing them with preposterous analogies to the KKK. The smarter members of the Gay Thought Police insist that they are not really anti-Christian(ity) — i.e., against people’s right to believe the Bible’s teaching that homosexual practice is sinful. Rather, it is merely the way people like Perkins make their “anti-gay” arguments that disqualifies them from the Public Square, they say. Don’t buy it.

Meanwhile, the true haters on the Left, like Dan Savage, creator of the toxic attack-site “Santorum[dot]com,” are rewarded for their cruelty because, of course, their hatred is directed at the proper target: social conservatives, especially Christians. (The pro-”gay” Left still seems largely uninterested in radical Islamic teachings and practices that apply a harsher standard against homosexuals than most Christians could even envision.)

Liberal ends justify nasty means: just ask the Santorum family. (By the way, Dan Savage just got his own show on MTV. Apparently, launching a vile web campaign aimed at destroying a conservative’s name by attaching it to the gross byproduct of perversion is no impediment to a liberal’s career.)

Homophobia?
With regard to the above video, my hunch is that when Matthews avers that Perkins “doesn’t pull that homophobic stuff on my show,” he is thinking of real hatred toward homosexuals — read: uncivil, caustic verbal bashing of homosexuals, not “hatred” re-defined to suit left-wing ideological purposes.

Or maybe not: who can know when we’re dealing with ambiguous, ”progressive” Newspeak like the catchall construct homophobia? A media study going back a decade or two would document the steady expansion of what constitutes “homophobia” in the minds of pro-homosexual activists. It began with some connection to unreasonable fear, but these days has grown to include mere opposition to homosexual “marriage.”

Libertarians, secular-minded conservatives, and honest liberals, take note: if the Left succeeds in “silencing” all media voices critical of homosexuality and LGBT activism, it will move on to its next target, with gullible media sycophants in tow. Which perhaps explains why savvy Muslim activists and their allies have latched on to making frequent accusations of “Islamophobia” as a means to demonize their opponents (again, mostly Christians).

These opportunistic Muslims should reconsider their tactics. They forget that they, too — as opponents of the sin of homosexuality – could become a target of the pro-”queer” silencing campaign that brooks no dissent in its push for public approval and the power to enforce Political Correctness, beginning with the indoctrination of young children in schools.

It says all you need to know about the mischieviously-named homosexual activist group “Truth Wins Out” — headed by “gay” gadfly Wayne Besen – that it would feature anti-Christian photos like these prominently on its website. The photos are part of a story about a TWO protest outside the recent Exodus International “Love Won Out” conference in Atlanta, for people who have left or seek to leave homosexuality behind in their life. TWO attempts to discredit the idea that hcaltlhy change away from homosexuality is possible (by championing failed “ex-gays” and ignoring success stories).

In the TWO promotional photo at right proclaiming a “failed” Exodus conference (click to enlarge), the man’s sign reads, “The Bible is not a tool of hatred and injustice” — implying that efforts to help men and women overcome unwanted homosexual desires are hateful. This is now the standard propaganda line for almost all homosexual activist organizations. Of course, the truth is that most loving thing that a holy God and caring Christians can do for a person struggling with homosexuality (or any besetting sin) is to help him or her overcome that sin in their life. [More photos after jump.]

Below is a larger shot of the same TWO photo as it appears on the group’s website. Click to enlarge it to full size. Note the men dressed in drag as “nuns” in the background — from the homosexual activist group “Sister of Perpetual Indulgence,” which blends Catholic-mocking attire with homosexual radicalism and perversion. One “sister” carries a sign quoting the Bible verse Matthew 5:11, which is about suffering for the cause of righteousness (following Jesus). That verse could be used appropriately by former homosexuals enduring the cruel brand of ridicule and hatred wielded by TWO and fellow homosexual activists. But here it is flipped upside-down to scold Bible-believing Christians who testify to Christ’s power to help people overcome sinful temptations.

Jesus was not homosexual

Below is another photo from the “Truth Wins Out” protest, advancing the discredited “gay theology” claim that Jesus was “gay” and had an erotic, homosexual relationship with a beloved disciple (the Apostle John). There is no more crass cliche in the homosexual activist playbook than the preposterous notion that affection between people of the same sex — i.e., great friends – constitutes evidence of homosexuality. Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Prof. Robert Gagnon debunks the ridiculous claim about Jesus’ beloved disciple HERE:

In addition to mocking Christians, distorting the Word of God, and calling Biblical faith “hate,” Truth Wins Out routinely seeks to discredit faithful Christians such as those at the Exodus conference, simply by repeating ad nauseam that their belief in transformation is outmoded. Here TWO’s Besen highlights portions of Exodus material highlighting Christian “change” — in an attempt to discredit Exodus (see Editor’s Note at bottom):

Besen and fellow homosexual activists despise the truth that many men and women have overcome homosexuality in their own lives, through faith in God. TWO and other “gay” groups like GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) do all they can to discredit this reality to the media. Having no interest in contented, successful former homosexuals like (family man) Stephen Black of First Stone Ministries, Besen & Co. instead “Focus on the Failures,” i.e., people who for whatever reason could not make the transition away from homosexuality. The Lord asks us to pray for our enemies, so I’m asking you to pray for Wayne Besen and his sidekick, Evan Hurst. They are very deluded and angry men, but ultimately, their beef is with the Creator.

Editor’s Note: By highlighting Truth Wins Out’s run-of-the-mill homosexualist hatred of Exodus, we do not mean to endorse all of Exodus’ teachings. In fact, this writer — though appreciative of Exodus’ and its president Alan Chambers’ great contributions to Christian overcomers and the pro-family movement – has become alarmed at Exodus’ straying from Scriptural Truth. Regrettably – partly out of a desire to “dialogue” with misguided “gay Christian” advocates – Chambers has become mired in semantic contortions surrounding homosexual “orientation” (an ambiguous modern-day concept not found in the Bible). And as you plainly can see from these photos and the TWO post, these equivocations and compromises have only emboldened the likes of Besen to step up their attacks against Exodus and the idea of healthy change.

I recommend this critical analysis by former homosexual DL Foster, creator of the Gay Christian Movement Watch blog, analyzing Chamber’s recent statements before a group of purported “gay Christians.” Chambers’ comments were seized upon by TWO and other homosexual activists as evidence that homosexuals really cannot change.

The following is Christian actor/director Kirk Cameron’s response (posted on his Facebook page) to the controversy and pro-homosexual vitriol over his comments on homosexuality, in a recent interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan. I recently was asked to join Piers Morgan on CNN for an interview about my new film “Monumental.” During that discussion, I was asked to express my views about homosexuality, gay marriage, and abortion. While that was not the agreed-upon purpose of the interview, I was pleased to answer Piers’ questions as honestly as I could.

In some people’s eyes, my responses were not sufficiently “loving” toward those in the gay community. I can only say that it is my life’s mission to love all people, and that I expressed the same views that are expressed clearly and emphatically throughout the Judeo-Christian scriptures. As a Bible believing Christian, I could not have answered any other way.

I’ve been encouraged by the support of many friends (including gay friends, incidentally) in the wake of condemnation by some political advocacy groups. In the case of one of my gay friends, we regularly talk and have healthy and respectful debate. We learn from each other, and serve others alongside one another. I thank God for all of my friends…even when they hold very different views on issues of faith and morality. I do not, however, believe that the right way to advance our views is to resort to name-calling and personal attacks, as some have done to me.

I also believe that freedom of speech and freedom of religion go hand-in-hand in America. I should be able to express moral views on social issues–especially those that have been the underpinning of Western civilization for 2,000 years–without being slandered, accused of hate speech, and told from those who preach “tolerance” that I need to either bend my beliefs to their moral standards or be silent when I’m in the public square.

I hope more than a few people could see the large volume of secularist morality being imposed on me. In any society that is governed by the rule of law, some form of morality is always imposed. It’s inescapable. But it is also a complicated subject, and that is why I believe we need to learn how to debate these things with greater love and respect.

Kirk Cameron has bravely stood for Christian and biblical values in Hollywood.

Below is a graphic put out by the homosexual media pressure group GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) — smearing Kirk Cameron as an “anti-gay extremist” for his recent heartfelt comments about homosexual behavior and “same-sex marriage,” on CNN’s Piers Morgan show. As you can see, this is not the tone of an “extremist” but a thoughtful Christian man who is smart enough to know that Hollywood liberals and LGBT militants will pounce on any statement  he makes critical of homosexual behavor, which God through the Bible condemns. (By the way, I think Kirk would have been better off just saying “yes” to Morgan’s question about whether he believes homosexuality is a sin.)

On his Facebook page, Cameron writes, in part:

GLAAD is awarded unprecedented access and sway in Hollywood (and the media) to advocate for, essentially, one side of a controversial moral issue. Here it stokes anti-Christian bigotry against Cameron, as it does against anyone who voices politically incorrect beliefs about homosexuality through the media. Ultimately, GLAAD (while curiously extolling “diversity”) hopes to keep interviews like Morgan’s with Cameron out of the media altogether. (Otherwise, why would they previously have lobbied so hard against CNN for including Christian former homosexual Richard Cohen in a debate segment?) Pro-life/pro-family advocate Jim Finnegan has fought long and hard in Illinois for "Choose Life" specialty license plates, which would raise funds for adoption. Democratic politicians, influenced by pro-abortion lobbyists, have stalled the plates for years.

Foster says that the portrayal of himself, Wooden and other Black leaders who participated in AFTAH’s Jan. 17 press conference [click HERE for audio] outside the Southern Poverty Law Center headquarters as somehow being controlled by “white organizers” “highlights the high level of racist arrogance inside the homosexual movement” – which he said he experienced when he was active as a homosexual. “The white gay movement needs to deal with its own latent racism,” he said.  Wooden said he’s never been called “Nigger” so much (by white “gay” activists) than since his interviews with AFTAH went public.

Foster and LaBarbera talk about the case of Jesse Dirkhising, a 13-year-old Arkansas boy who was raped and grotesquely sodomized in 1999 by two older homosexual men who left him for dead after drugging, gagging and penetrating him with foreign objects including a cucumber.

I posted this comment today on the homosexual website “Truth Wins Out,” in response to an article they posted about a nasty video targeting yours truly as “Porno Pete”:

Wayne, you are a hater and hypocrite of the highest order, though you do a good con-job on TV playing a respectable, decent gay activist. (I still remember the days debating you back in DC before you left HRC — how you would obnoxiously talk over your opponents whenever they brought up inconvenient truths like the disproportionate rates of sexual disease for Men Who Have Sex with Men.)

It’s too bad now, as one who should be a mature man, that you have to resort to such crude demonizations, sophomoric slanders and character assassination to advance your dubious cause. What a waste of writing talent, but Saul Alinsky would be proud.

The jig is up: despite the Gay Left’s campaign to smear Christian, pro-family opponents as “haters,” more and more everyday people are recognizing that the nastiest, cruelest and most intolerant activists in America are homosexual militants like you, Dan Savage, Evan Hurst and the comically-named “Truth” Wins Out. All of you would be exposed as phonies if the “mainstream” media were anything close to impartial.

As for me, I wear Truth Wins Out’s hatred and very “queer” putdowns like this as a Badge of Honor.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois, Oct. 19, 2011 – Pro-homosexual activists attacked the Christian Liberty Academy early October 15th – throwing two large, concrete brick pavers through its glass doors with a hate-note attached– and then issued an online statement claiming responsibility for the crime. The attackers demanded that CLA “shut down” a banquet it was hosting later that evening for the “homophobic hate group,” Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). But their main target was pro-family veteran Scott Lively, who was honored at the event.

“This is just a sample of what we will do if you don’t shut down Scott Lively and AFTAH … [F**k] Scott Lively. Quit the homophobic [sh*t]!” read the note that accompanied the bricks thrown through CLA’s doors. The apparent “hate crime” against CLA did not deter the Christian school from hosting the banquet for AFTAH, which presented its 2011 ”American Truth Teller” award to Lively, founder of Defend the Family International and the author of “The Pink Swastika.”

Lively was targeted in the online statement for allegedly condoning violence against homosexuals in Uganda. (This is a false charge: Lively, like AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera, condemns all violence and genuine hatred against homosexuals.) The following excerpt is from the statement posted on the leftist Chicago Independent Media Center website:

“These chunks of concrete were thrown through these windows and doors for two reasons: to show that there is a consequence for hatred and homophobia in our community and to directly cause this event to be shut down. If this event is not shut down, and the homophobic day trainings do not end, the Christian liberty academy will continue to be under constant attack.”

After Arlington Heights police came to the scene, they cased the CLA building — a large, former public high school — with bomb-sniffing dogs, according to CLA Pastor Calvin Lindstrom. As it turned out, the assailants apparently did not enter the building.

Taking credit for a crime

The extraordinary aspect to this case is that pro-homosexuality activists boldly took credit for the attack, in an online statement that remains on the leftist “Chicago Independent Media Center” website — signalling a new brazenness by homosexual activists. What follows is a screen shot of the statement [link HERE] taking responsibility for this act of domestic terrorism. It was posted early in the morning of Oct. 15 – just a few hours after the brick-throwing attack by an anonymous author, “PISSED” (This same statement was e-mailed to Christian Liberty Academy, Americans For Truth’s LaBarbera, Scott Lively and others):

The above statement repeats the extreme rhetoric and accusations against Lively by the Gay Liberation Network (GLN), a Chicago-based, Marxist homosexual activist group that routinely demonizes AFTAH and protests AFTAH events – including last year’s three-day Truth Academy. In the weeks leading up to the banquet, GLN announced that it would protest the AFTAH banquet. — and falsely accused Scott Lively of condoning violence against homosexuals in Uganda (and also Americans For Truth President Peter LaBarbera of honoring a man (Lively) who supports violence against homosexuals). The charge is slanderous as both Lively and LaBarbera — like every major pro-family advocate who works on the homosexuality issue — have repeatedly and consistently opposed violence against homosexuals.

At the banquet and a speaking event Friday and Grace Gospel Fellowship Church, Lively reiterated that he steadfastly opposed the death penalty provisions in Ugandan sex-crimes legislation — which has been simplistically translated by homosexual activists as the “Kill the Gays” bill. Lively follows American Family Association founder Don Wildmon and Ken Hutcherson, pastor of Antioch Bible Church and pro-traditional marriage advocate, as a recipient of the AFTAH “American Truth Teller” award.

GLN has denied involvement in the attack on Christian Liberty Academy — which is being investigated by Arlington Heights police. The Chicago Tribune reports that the case is not being treated as a “hate crime.” AFTAH, like most conservative Christian groups, opposes “hate crimes” laws — but questions why the attack on CLA is not categorized as a “hate crime” when it appears the victims (including the Christian Liberty Academy), have been targeted based on their religious beliefs about homosexuality. Both the Illinois and federal “hate crimes” laws consider religion and “sexual orientation” a protected category. Attacks targeting homosexual persons are routinely investigated as “hate crimes” from the outset.

In the wake of the violent attack on the Christian school, homosexual militants immediately sought to cast doubt on the assault –  by claiming that it was likely the work of Americans For Truth About Homoseuxuality. Homosexual blogger Joe Jervis of the “Joe.My.God” blog took the lead, immediately charging on his Twitter account that LaBarbera had staged a fake “hate crime” as a publicity stunt leading up to the AFTAH banquet. Jervis has accused other pro-family groups with staging attacks against themselves. Other “gay” advocates denounced the attack on CLA and said it would only hinder the homosexual activist movement.

On the Chicago Independendent Media Center website containing the attacker’s statement taking credit for the crime, Jervis desperately posted this comment:

Does anybody know the person supposedly behind this post? This is an open and unmoderated site from what I can see. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to learn that LaBarbera and his foul cohorts staged this entire thing.

Lively recalls fake “gay” hate crime

Ironically, at both his talks for Americans For Truth, Lively recounted the amazing story from the early 1990′s of an infamous PRO-homosexual ”hate crime” hoax staged by a lesbian, Azalea Cooley – to fight a conservative statewide ballot measure known as ”Measure Nine,” which would have made it unconstitutional for the state to promote homosexuality. Lively served as statewide  media director for Oregon Citizen’s Alliance (OCA), a Christian group that sponsored Measure Nine, and recalled how Cooley, a black, supposedly wheelchair-bound lesbian, claimed 21 cross-burnings in her front yard after the campaign for Measure Nine was launched.

In the final days of the campaign, after the perpetrators of this series of “hate crime” were never caught, two rogue policemen decided to investigate for themelves; as they staked out Cooley’s home one night, they watched as she came out walking into her front yard holding a can of gasoline, and lit a cross on fire. According to Lively, strategically-placed homosexual activists within Oregon’s law enforcement agencies — including “gay” relatives of powerful officials — likely helped derail the proper investigation of Cooley’s antics.

But, as Lively told the AFTAH audiences Friday and Saturday, “it gets better.” The astounding fraud should have received saturation media coverage across the state, but instead was covered seriously only in Cooley’s hometown of Portland. To end the campaign, Measure Nine’s opponents held a massive “March Against Hate” ending in Portland — the final mobilization against the “evil” OCA ballot meaure. And who was heading up the march as a symbol of the progressive struggle against Religious Right “hate”? … Azalea Cooley, riding in her wheelchair.

Lively sent me (and Dr. Lutzer) the following two letters in response to GLN leader Bob Schwartz’s outlandish claims. A verbatim copy of the contents of the GLN letter, sent to Lutzer by certified mail September 27, 2011, follows Scott’s letters below.

In his letter to Lutzer, GLN’s Bob Schwartz writes:

“Are you aware of Lively’s history as a vicious gay basher?…In addition, as you may know, LaBarbera’s organization [AFTAH] and Lively’s Abiding Truth Ministries are both described as ‘hate groups’ by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Are these the kinds of organizations with which you wish to associate the Moody Church? …[W]e take you at your word when you say you oppose violence against gays. We therefore assume that you would not want to be associated with those, like Lively and LaBarbera, who either support violence outright, or honor those who do.”

This is a monstrous lie. From the beginning of my involvement in the homosexuality debate, I – like Scott – have repeatedly and consistently condemned all violence and genuine hatred directed at homosexuals. So when Schwartz and the GLN urged Pastor Lutzer not to “[associate] with those, like Lively and LaBarbera, who either support violence outright, or honor those who do” – they slandered me as well as Scott.

The chutzpah of the Chicago-based GLN and its co-leader, Bob Schwartz, is hard to overstate – for it was Schwartz himself who once made a thinly-veiled threat of violence against this writer as I was standing in opposition to a Chicago “gay youth” event in downtown Chicago (as then-Executive Director of Illinois Family Institute). Schwartz pointed to a few Chicago policemen standing nearby and told me that if it weren’t for the presence of my “friends” (the police), he would push me into oncoming traffic. Since I began writing about the incident, Schwartz has never denied making the nasty remark. Of course, had it been the other way around and I’d made the same violence-tinged threat against a homosexual advocate like Schwartz, there likely would have been “hate crimes” charges filed against me!

The Gay Liberation Network is one of the most vicious and extreme homosexualist organizations I have ever encountered.  They hatefully smeared Dr. James Dobson’s good name and accused him of “hate speech” when he was inducted into the Chicago-based Museum of Broadcast Communications’ Hall of Fame.  And they blasted Dr. Lutzer as a “hater” simply because he wrote a book against same-sex “marriage.”  (The GLN protesters even disparaged the venerable Moody Church as a “House of Hate”!) Also, see Bob Schwartz’s letter HERE supporting the University of Illinois’ firing of Catholic professor Ken Howell because he taught the Catholic, natural law opposition to homosexual practice (who was later reinstated).

Thus, it is completely in line with GLN’s malicious track record to see them cruelly malign and lie about Scott – a godly and courageous Christian man – as a “vicious gay basher.”  Still, as one who has also been lied about on a regular basis by homosexual militants, it grieves my heart to see this good man portrayed as evil (Isaiah 5:20).

We are grateful to Dr. Lutzer for not giving in to this deceitful and despicable GLN campaign against Lively — who daily models the Christian’s noble calling to speak Gospel truth in love – and who has been mercilessly demonized by the liberal media and LGBT activists for boldly proclaiming the unswerving truth about homosexuality, year in and year out.

Letter to Dr. Lutzer from Scott Lively Oct. 10, 2011:

Dear Peter [LaBarbera],

As you well know, I am a Bible-believing Christian who abhors violence against anyone, and have never advocated violence or hatred against homosexuals.  You may recall that when we first met in Framingham, MA in 1992, my wife and I and our four young sons had for several months been nursing a former homosexual man with AIDS in our own home.  He lived with us until his death from that horrific disease later that year.  I have worked with dozens of people seeking an exit from that lifestyle over the years, including my own sister (who repented and overcame it), and have worked with men seeking recovery from homosexuality in my inner-city church in Springfield, MA.  The website of my Springfield mission is www.redemptiongate.org.

While I am compelled by Christ to love those who struggle with homosexual sin as individuals, I am also strongly opposed to the homosexual political agenda, which I view as an existential threat to Christian civilization around the world.  I have long considered myself a missionary to the global pro-family movement and have ministered in more than two dozen countries as a university lecturer, consultant to government officials and advisor to pastors and Christian leaders.  As you know, I hold a Juris Doctor degree from Trinity Law School, a TH.D. from the Pentecostal Assemblies of God, and a Certificate in Human Rights from the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France.

One of the countries in which I have ministered is Uganda.  I was keynote speaker at their first national pro-family conference, sponsored by the Minister of Ethics and Integrity in 2002(?).  My wife and I returned the following year to help the movement develop, and in 2009 I was invited to give a seminar to government officials and other community leaders about the homosexual issue.  They were planning to draft legislation to curb the rapid spread of homosexuality in the country.

The text for my lectures was based entirely on my textbook ”Redeeming the Rainbow: A Christian Response to the ‘Gay’ Agenda” which was then in manuscript form but has since been published in print form and in PDF; the latter is downloadable without charge at http://www.defendthefamily.com/rtr/.  I have also attached a copy.  You will not find a single sentence in this book that promotes hatred or violence against homosexuals.

During my 2009 trip I also addressed members of the Ugandan Parliament in their national assembly hall.  My advice to the MPs regarding the law they were contemplating but had not yet drafted was to focus on rehabilitation of homosexuals and not punishment.  I urged them to become the first government in the world to develop a state-sponsored recovery system for homosexuality on the model we have in the United States for alcoholism.

In contradiction to my advice, a few months after the seminar an MP introduced a bill to criminalize homosexuality.  The terms of the bill were harsh, as is very common in African countries, including capital punishment for a category of crimes called “aggravated homosexuality.”  That category was aimed at pedophilia and sexual abuse of disabled persons but was inartfully worded so as to potentially also encompass simple homosexuality.

I do not support capital punishment for any sex crimes, let alone simple homosexuality, which I view as a treatable behavioral disorder, and so I opposed the bill.  I was nevertheless accused in the international media of not only endorsing the bill but of advocating for it.  These false accusations were not deterred by my written responses which attempted to set the record straight.  The first was an editorial titled “The Death Penalty in Uganda” and the second was a copy of my letter to the Ugandan Parliament together with its response.  They are published on my website here  http://www.defendthefamily.com/pfrc/newsarchives.php?id=4480922  and here http://www.defendthefamily.com/pfrc/newsarchives.php?id=3261726.

I am no stranger to persecution for my commitment to Biblical truth, and over the twenty plus years I have worked primarily in this ministry I have been maligned and slandered to an extreme degree.  This is a tactic of all leftists but especially of the “gays,” who are the most adept and vicious of all in the use of malicious propaganda, as should be no surprise to any Christian familiar with Romans 1:26-31.

Following the introduction of the Uganda Bill I was personally attacked as the supposed “mastermind” behind it in feature stories in the New York Times, London Guardian, Canadian National Post, ABC News, and PBS, among others.  Later, not once, but twice, when supposed homosexual activists in Uganda were killed, it was implied by the liberal western media that I was responsible.  In both cases the accusations were published before the facts were even known to the police.  In both cases the deaths were later proved to be unrelated to the passions surrounding the Ugandan bill.  The first killing turned out to be the work of pagan witch doctors involved in some bizarre ritual.  The original story is no longer on the Ugandan news site but the following item from a “gay” blog admits their facts were wrong (while casting themselves as victims of a “hoax”):    http://www.religiondispatches.org/dispatches/candacechellew-hodge/2930/hoax_underscores_urgency_for_lgbt_people_in_uganda/.

In neither of these cases was an apology written, nor was a correction on the facts made; neither did ANY mainstream media outlet issue a retraction of the false implication that I was somehow involved in these killings.

In the two years since the propaganda campaign against me was launched, I have received hundreds if not thousands of hate mails, including a plausible death threat which led to judicial action by the police.  I have been shunned as a resource by several Christian organizations (and numerous pastors), and my church has been picketed numerous times and a rock thrown through the front window once.  One time a man stuck his head in the door during my sermon to yell “Scott Lively is a murderer.”  I was also attacked on the front page of the Boston Globe in a purely gratuitous ”hit piece,” centered on the Ugandan story, designed to discredit my Christian mission in Springfield.

I am fully content to know that those who desire to live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution and I have not shrunk, nor will I shrink from standing boldly for the truth of God’s word, come what may.  Neither will I succumb to the urge for revenge or hatred toward those who hate and attack me with such hysteria.  They truly know not what they do.

I must, however, exhort my fellow Christians not to allow themselves to be influenced by the propaganda nor intimidated by the harassment tactics of LGBT activists.  It has always been the case that the cause of Christ is advanced only through selfless courage in the face of determined opposition.  Not even the gates of hell can prevail against us when we abide unshakably in Him.  Even today believers must stand fast to the point of death in some places in the world.  How can we dare to shrink from our challenge when we face merely slander by our foes and shunning by weaker brothers?

Uganda is being murdered.  The nation once called “The Pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill, a lush and beautiful country as fertile as the Nile Delta.  It is the nation that retained its self-rule through centuries of African colonialism, the society that survived even the atrocities of the cannibal cultist Idi Amin, the culture that has been thriving in Christian revival for over a dozen years.

This great and honorable nation, alone in Africa to have all but conquered the scourge of AIDS  through abstinence — and whose First Lady led a holy gathering of thousands of believers on the eve of the millennium, dedicating her homeland “to Jesus Christ for a thousand years” — this Uganda, a shining light in the Dark Continent, is being murdered.

The murderers are the lavender Marxists, the now-global network of sexual revolutionaries bent on remaking the entire world in their own perverted image, whose juggernaut has toppled even once mighty Britain, crushing under their lavender boots after eight centuries the symbol of its Christian power: the Magna Charta, whose first principle had proclaimed, “The English church must be free!”  These revolutionists of Sodom, who march triumphantly through all the major cities of the western world to flaunt their defeat of moral law, and who hold both Hollywood and the heart of America’s president in their iron grip: these very same zealots have fixed their malevolent gaze on Christian Uganda.

Uganda is the only country in the world with a national holiday commemorating its rejection of sexual perversion.  Every June 3 it honors the 22 young men and boys who were tortured and roasted alive in 1886 by homosexual King Mwanga, because they refused to submit to sodomy.   Is it any wonder, then, that Uganda has reacted violently against the army of agitators, led by George Soros, who now seek to re-homosexualize Ugandan culture?

It is as if the militant ranks of “Code Pink” were transported back to 1890s America to agitate for “sexual freedom.”  Our great grandparents would not have countenanced this.  There would have been violence, as there has now been in Uganda.  And that is, of course, the strategy: the agents provocateur are goading unsophisticated natives into over-reacting, while the “gay” media lie in wait to catch the images and spin the propaganda that is even now poisoning the gullible against the Ugandans.

Ugandan homosexual activist David Kato was recently beaten to death with a hammer, a horrific crime.  These very media rushed eagerly to judge this a hate crime and to blame those, like me, who have spoken against homosexuality in Uganda.  It is the central (but patently false) narrative of the left that all criticism of homosexuality leads inevitably to violence and murder. Yet the killer has now been caught and confessed that he was a live-in male prostitute who murdered Kato for failing to pay him as promised.  The “gay” hate-narrative has failed, the Ugandan rejection of “gay” culture has been vindicated, and the finger-pointing media have pulled quietly back into the shadows — for now.

There is indeed evil in Uganda today, but it is not the reaction of Christian and Moslem citizens to the rape of their culture. It is the pink-gloved hand of western powers that are cutting the throat of Africa’s most God-fearing country, and one of the world‘s most promising Christian democracies.

Do you know that one Scott Lively is to be honored at that dinner by Peter LaBarbera. Are you aware of Scott Lively’s history as a vicious gay basher?

LaBarbera identifies Lively as a “veteran Christian culture warrior who has been leading the resistance against the homosexualist juggernaut—in the USA and across the world.” LaBarbera says Lively has “suffered greatly for doing good and honoring God and His Truth.”

Scott Lively journeyed to Uganda in 2009 with other US evangelical gay bashers to stage a “Seminar on Exposing the Homosexual Agenda” even though homosexuality was already illegal in that nation. Lively helped stoke anti-gay animus by playing the “child molestation” card, asserting that gays are “looking for other people to prey upon, and that went they see someone from a broken home, it’s like they have a flashing neon sign over their head…male homosexuality has not traditionally been adult to adult, it’s men adult to teenager….The gay movement is an evil institution.”

It was following Lively’s “seminar” that legislation was introduced into the Ugandan parliament that would impose the death penalty for so-called aggravated homosexuality.” All gay meetings would be banned under this draconian measure, and heterosexuals could be jailed as well for any advocacy of homosexuality or defense of gay people. Please note that Scott Lively has supported this further criminalizing of homosexuality, even as some evangelicals like Rick Warren have distanced themselves from it. (Lively advised against death sentences for Ugandan gays, since it could result in “public sympathy” for them; he prefers forced “rehabilitation.”)

More recently, Lively justified anti-gay violence when Uganda’s leading gay advocate was murdered. Lively wrote, “It is as if the militant ranks of ‘Code Pink’ were transported back to 1890s America to agitate for ‘sexual freedom.’ Our great grandparents would not have countenanced this. Although our differences with you are sharp and distinct, due to your opposition to marriage equality for lesbian and gay people, we take you at your word when you say that you oppose violence against gays. We therefore assume that you would not want to be associated with those, like Lively and LaBarbera, who either support violence outright, or honor those who do.

We hope, therefore, you will rethink your decision to appear at LaBarbera’s banquet. Whatever your decision, we will be at the Christian Liberty Academy to protest those who oppose our equal rights, and particularly those who countenance violence against our community or participate in honoring those who do.

One of the three panelists, Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain, went out of his way in a concurring opinion to dispute that either the U.S. Constitution or the Supreme Court’s interpretation of it provided “a member of the armed forces (with) a constitutionally protected right to engage in homosexual acts or to state that he or she is a homosexual while continuing to serve in the military.”

O’Scannlain also criticized the lower court judge who invalidated “don’t ask, don’t tell” last year, U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips. He accused Phillips of willfully failing “to apply established law” so she could issue a ruling “that invalidated a considered congressional policy and imposed a wholly novel view of constitutional liberty on the entire United States.”

Per the usual, the Log Cabin Republicans put their pro-homosexuality activism way ahead of loyalty to the conservative Republican Party platform. (After all, for homosexual activists, it’s all about “me.”) The question now is: will the same conservative Republicans and GOP candidates who rightly pledge to repeal Obama-care also work to reinstate the homosexual military exclusion policy – or will they capitulate to the Left’s (and libertarians’) radical social agenda for the Armed Forces? If they surrender, pro-homosexual “diversity” policies will turn the Pentagon into massive “gay rights” bureaucracy that undermines religious freedom and the very conservative values that make our military strong. Appeals court tosses gays in military lawsuit

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A federal appeals court refused Thursday to decide the constitutionality of the military’s now-repealed “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy banning openly gay troops, saying the issue has been resolved since Americans can enlist and serve in the armed forces without regard to sexual orientation.

A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco tossed out a lawsuit that had challenged the military policy as a violation of gay service members’ civil rights. In doing so, the appeals court also dismissed a Southern California trial judge’s year-old ruling that the policy was unconstitutional.

The gay rights group Log Cabin Republicans filed the lawsuit in 2004 challenging the policy. The group’s lawyer, Dan Woods, said he would ask the full 9th Circuit to review the panel’s decision.

The group recently argued the lower court ruling, which also barred enforcement of “don’t ask, don’t tell” should remain in effect despite this month’s repeal because future administrations and lawmakers could reintroduce a ban on gay service.

The three judges strongly disagreed in their Thursday opinion, saying the case is moot because there is nothing left to challenge regarding the policy enacted as section 654….

The panel specifically rejected Log Cabins’ assertion that the appeals court should decide the underlying constitutional issues to prevent future limitations or outright bans on military service by gay and lesbian Americans….

Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director R. Clarke Cooper said he was disappointed, noting that the favorable ruling his group obtained in the lower court played a major role in persuading policy makers to repeal “don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Log Cabin Republicans v. United States said more than `don’t ask, don’t tell’ should be repealed – it stood for the fundamental constitutional rights of service members not to be discriminated against by the nation they serve,” Cooper said. “This decision by the 9th Circuit denies more than 14,000 discharged gay and lesbian service members an important means of obtaining justice for the wrong perpetuated against them under the ban, and leaves open the possibility of future violations of service members’ rights.”

One of the three panelists, Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain, went out of his way in a concurring opinion to dispute that either the U.S. Constitution or the Supreme Court’s interpretation of it provided “a member of the armed forces (with) a constitutionally protected right to engage in homosexual acts or to state that he or she is a homosexual while continuing to serve in the military.”

O’Scannlain also criticized the lower court judge who invalidated “don’t ask, don’t tell” last year, U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips. He accused Phillips of willfully failing “to apply established law” so she could issue a ruling “that invalidated a considered congressional policy and imposed a wholly novel view of constitutional liberty on the entire United States.”

Transsexuals Need Christ, NOT “Sex Change” Surgery

Recently I had the pleasure of doing an in-depth, four-part radio interview with Walt Heyer, a Christian man and FORMER transsexual who once lived as a “woman” named “Laura” (see before-and-after photos above).  Walt had the Gender Reassignment Surgery – yes, the one that makes men wince at the mere thought of it.  (It is frequently called a “sex-change” operation even though, as Walt stresses, a person cannot change their biological sex.)

Walt discovered too late that finally “becoming Laura,” as it were, through a body-disfiguring operation didn’t solve his severe “gender” problem.  But thank God he ultimately DID find healing through the grace of the Lord — who labored through faithful and loving Christians who stood by Walt and helped restore him to the man he was created to be.  Now Walt has dedicated the rest of his life to helping others avoid this awful surgery and the “sex-change regret” that he had; instead, he directs them to the healthy CHANGE available through Jesus Christ.

The Homosexual-Pedophile Connection

Then, in the biggest story AFTAH ever broke, Lambda Report exposed that a U.S.-funded United Nations agency harbored the International Lesbian and Gay Association, which included NAMBLA and other pro-pedophile groups as members.  I debated homosexual pedophile activist Bill Andriette (who conveniently worked for a popular “gay” travel magazine) on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”  Our story led to legislation sponsored by the late, great Sen. Jesse Helms (R-NC) and passed by the United States Senate cutting $119 million in UN funds and stipulating that no U.S. monies could go to any agency with links to pedophile groups.  The bill was signed into law by President Clinton in 1994 and remains on the books today.

Thanks to Americans For Truth, it’s much more difficult for pedophiles to gain a foothold at the United Nations.

Skip forward 17 years.  Since I first began writing about the “tolerance” that some homosexual activists have for man-child sex (“intergenerational relationships”), the pederasty problem has only gotten worse.  Recently I was stunned to examine the “B4U-Act” pro-pedophile website for the first time.  These corrupt academicians want to recast pedophiles as “Minor-Attracted Persons” (MAPs) and duplicate the successful “gay” strategy of creating sympathy for the poor, reviled “MAPs” who are “discriminated” against because of their “sexual orientation.”

Who could make this stuff up?  As I wrote in a previous e-mail, this is like NAMBLA with a PhD and a marketing plan.  And parents, know this: they’re very serious.

What is AFTAH’s response: shine the light of truth on these organized perverts who lust after children. These days, it seems almost everyone is “going gay” in some way or another by abandoning the historic biblical ethic on this sin issue by caving in to homosexualist pressure.  Even conservative icon Ann Coulter joined the Advisory Board of GOProud, a “gay” Republican group, and she inexplicably gave the “Queer” Lobby a pass in her new book “Demonic.”  (It’s a curious omission: what’s more ‘demonic’ than the rise of homosexuality in just 60 years from an anti-social sex taboo and mental disorder to a powerful special interest lobby that dominates Hollywood, the media and increasingly the rest of society – and which threatens to negate our religious liberties?! )

Walt Heyer as the man he is today -- living in his God-given gender.

This is the fourth and final part of our interview with Walt Heyer [listen HERE], a former transsexual who went through a body-disfiguring “gender reassignment surgery” (to live as ”Laura”) only to regret it – and ultimately returned to his God-given gender as a male. RIMMING: Section on "Rimming" from flier produced for the California HIV/AIDS Hotline. "Rimming" is a slang term for oral-anal sexual stimulation, as depicted by the drawing above. The text reads: "You cannot get HIV from rimming. You can get Hepatitis A (but you can get vaccinated against it), shigella, herpes, and intestinal parasites. To reduce your chances of getting sick, clean ass before you eat it, or use a dental dam as a barrier between your mouth and your partner's ass."

TAKE ACTION: Share this disturbing information with your adult friends, family and co-workers — as well as your U.S. Senators and Congressman [Senate 202-224-3121; House: 202-225-3121; www.congress.org].  Urge your representatives in Congress to put the safety of Americans — and a pristine blood supply — ahead of the demands of the selfish Homosexuality Lobby.  Also urge your representatives to launch a Congressional investigation into the health hazards of homosexual behaviors (just as the government studied the dangers of smoking).  We need the government to regulate the commercialized “gay” sex industry (e.g. bathhouses) – which fosters anonymous perversions and a reckless culture of promiscuity that spreads diseases and ultimately endangers innocents.

Here we reproduce portions of a flier produced by the Asian Health Services and funded by the California AIDS Clearinghouse — as AFTAH launches its “Keep the Gay Blood Ban” (KGB²) campaign against renewed lobby efforts to open up the U.S. blood supply to homosexuality-practicing men. Sen. John Kerry (D-MA), one-time Democratic candidate for president, has stepped up his efforts to overturn the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) current ban on blood donations from any ‘man who has had sex with a man’ (MSM) since 1977 (and any woman who has had sex with such a man).

In the House, Sen. Kerry is being aided by Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Chicago), who represents the homosexual Boystown neighborhood in Chicago, and the two recently applauded Obama’s HHS (Department of Health and Human Services) for taking steps toward lifting the homosexual blood ban.

Sadly, Sen. Kerry and others crusading against the homosexual blood ban do so on the basis that the ban is mainly about ”anti-gay discrimination” rather than preserving public health. Kerry previously cited the advent of legalized homosexual “marriage” as mitigating against the lifetime homosexual blood ban. Yet few seem interested in investigating — much less restricting — the actual high-risk homosexual practices and deviant behaviors depicted and described in this (pro-”gay’) flier, which crassly helps explain the immense heath risks of male homosexuality. We excerpt this flier — vulgar slang references and all — to help educate the public as to how this lifestyle is so dangerous that men who practice it must be kept from the nation’s blood supply.

The politically incorrect reality is that male-on-male sex and the “gay” sexual culture are extremely high-risk due directly to the dangerously perverse and unsanitary acts – and unprecedented promiscuity — practiced by “men who have sex with men.” Such behaviors fueled the AIDS crisis in the first place, as documented by homosexual reporter Randy Shilts in his book “And the Band Played On” (1987) [Click HERE to see excerpt from Shilts at bottom.]

AFTAH will present raw homosexual reality

As part of our “Keep the Gay Blood Ban” (KGB²) campaign, AFTAH will present the reality of homosexual BEHAVIOR  – using “gay” and pro-homosexual sources (largely uncensored). Much of it — like this California AIDS flier – will be shocking to the uninitiated, but we hope to provide an alternative to the dominant pro-homosexual political culture narrative that invariably excludes the single-most important factor in this debate — and any discussion surrounding homosexuality: homosexual behavior.

It's less likely but, yes, it's possible to get HIV by topping, especially if you regularly f**k without a condom. Studies show that men with foreskins -- ED. Why aren’t teenage boys being warned?

One other point: this flier and similarly frank homosexual literature conveys the harsh, shocking realities of homosexual sexual behavior. When teenage and even pre-teen boys idealistically embrace “being gay” as “who they are” — encouraged by pro-homosexual adults and the ubiquitous pro-”gay” messages in pop culture – do they have any inkling of the serious and even deadly health repercussions of this lifestyle choice?

When Hollywood elites glamorize homosexual teen male romances on programs like “Glee,” [see Glee's infamous teenage boy homosexual kiss HERE] shouldn’t they include warnings about the far less glamorous side of same-sex conduct? Shouldn’t boys embracing homosexuality be forewarned about the disproportionate risk of HIV, hepatitis, anal warts, herpes, etc., — all linked to unnatural homosexual behaviors?

Also, although many homosexual activists surely will object to this report on the basis that not all homosexual men are promiscuous or practice dangerous behaviors like sodomy and rimming — what is curious is that the United States government – even when led by Republicans — has taken precious little action against the “gay” sex industry and LGBT activism that facilitate the very promiscuity that has a long history of causing and spreading disease. Concerned more with decrying “homophobia” than encouraging public-health-promoting action against homosexual sex clubs, the the federal CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has left the “gay” bathhouse and sex-club industry untouched, and so it flourishes. Indeed, even in the CDC’s home city of Atlanta, three anonymous homosexual sex establishments operate without fear. Some ‘control and prevention.’…

FDA explains homosexual blood ban

The following are excerpts from an FDA fact sheet explaining the homosexual male blood donation ban (emphasis added):

• Men who have had sex with other men, at any time since 1977 (the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in the United States) are currently deferred as blood donors. This is because MSM are, as a group, at increased risk for HIV, hepatitis B and certain other infections that can be transmitted by transfusion.
• A history of male-to-male sex is associated with an increased risk for the presence of and transmission of certain infectious diseases, including HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. FDA’s policy is intended to protect all people who receive blood transfusions from an increased risk of exposure to potentially infected blood and blood products.
• Men who have had sex with men since 1977 have an HIV prevalence (the total number of cases of a disease that are present in a population at a specific point in time) 60 times higher than the general population, 800 times higher than first time blood donors and 8000 times higher than repeat blood donors (American Red Cross). Even taking into account that 75% of HIV infected men who have sex with men already know they are HIV positive and would be unlikely to donate blood, the HIV prevalence in potential donors with history of male sex with males is 200 times higher than first time blood donors and 2000 times higher than repeat blood donors.

What will Obama’s HHS do?

ANAL SEX AND BLEEDING. Panel reads: "Is it normal to bleed after anal sex? Bleeding immediately after anal sex is common for many men. Blood may come from hemorrhoids, a tear in the anal lining, polyps or tumors in the colon, or some type of infection. The seriousness of anal bleeding can only be assessed by a doctor. If you continue to bleed for more than a few days after anal sex, contact a clinic."

Sen.  Kerry plans to work closely with the Administration on repealing the “gay” blook donation ban. In his statement against what he calls the “outdated” homosexual blood ban, Kerry states: “It’s a very positive step that HHS is meeting this week to reconsider the lifetime ban on gay Americans donating blood.  The medical and scientific communities have been crystal clear that there is no longer any scientific evidence to warrant this policy…I’ve been working closely with members from both chambers, and we look forward to hearing HHS’s recommendations and working with the Administration to ensure that an outdated policy is brought into line with the world we live in today.”

The FDA contradicts Kerry’s claim that there is “no longer any scientific evidence” supporting the ban. It continues:

• Men who have had sex with men account for the largest single group of blood donors who are found HIV positive by blood donor testing.
• Blood donor testing using current advanced technologies has greatly reduced the risk of HIV transmission but cannot yet detect all infected donors or prevent all transmission by transfusions. While today’s highly sensitive tests fail to detect less than one in a million HIV infected donors, it is important to remember that in the US there are over 20 million transfusions of blood, red cell concentrates, plasma or platelets every year. Therefore, even a failure rate of 1 in a million can be significant if there is an increased risk of undetected HIV in the blood donor population.
• Detection of HIV infection is particularly challenging when very low levels of virus are present in the blood for example during the so-called “window period”. The “window period” is the time between being infected with HIV and the ability of an HIV test to detect HIV in an infected person.
• FDA’s MSM policy reduces the likelihood that a person would unknowingly donate blood during the “window period” of infection. This is important because the rate of new infections in MSM is higher than in the general population and current blood donors.
• Collection of blood from persons with an increased risk of HIV infection also presents an added risk if blood were to be accidentally given to a patient in error either before testing is completed or following a positive test. Such medical errors occur very rarely, but given that there are over 20 million transfusions every year, in the USA, they can occur. That is one more reason why FDA and other regulatory authorities work to assure that there are multiple safeguards, not just testing.
• Several scientific models show there would be a small but definite increased risk to people who receive blood transfusions if FDA’s MSM policy were changed and that preventable transfusion transmission of HIV could occur as a result.
• No alternate set of donor eligibility criteria (even including practice of safe sex or a low number of lifetime partners) has yet been found to reliably identify MSM who are not at increased risk for HIV or certain other transfusion transmissible infections.
• Today, the risk of getting HIV from a transfusion or a blood product has been nearly eliminated in the United States. Improved procedures, donor screening for risk of infection and laboratory testing for evidence of HIV infection have made the United States blood supply safer than ever. While appreciative and supportive of the desire of potential blood donors to contribute to the health of others, FDA’s first obligation is to assure the safety of the blood supply and protect the health of blood recipients.
• Men who have sex with men also have an increased risk of having other infections that can be transmitted to others by blood transfusion. For example, infection with the Hepatitis B virus is about 5-6 times more common and Hepatitis C virus infections are about 2 times more common in men who have sex with other men than in the general population. Additionally, men who have sex with men have an increased incidence and prevalence of Human Herpes Virus-8 (HHV-8). HHV-8 causes a cancer called Kaposi’s sarcoma in immunocompromised individuals.

The past is prologue

Warts are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). It's estimated that the majority of sexually-active gay men have already been exposed to HPV. You can't get tested for HPV, but there are a few things you can do. If you have warts, get them treated -- you'll be more comfortable, and you'll be less likely to spread the virus to your partners. HPV has also been found to be associated with anal cancer. Even if you don't have warts, you can still care a strain of HPV that causes cancer. If you bottom -- ED. NOTE: this means serving as the recipient "bottom" in anal sodomy -- ask your doctor for an anal Pap smear every few years to check for early signs of cancer (yes, men can get Paps too!)...."

The connection between disease and unnatural — and bizarrely perverse — homosexual acts goes back to the roots of the “gay revolution” in America. Randy Shilts, who himself died of AIDS at 42, wrote of pre-1980 “gay-liberated” San Francisco in his book, And the Band Played On:

The fight against venereal diseases was proving a Sisyphean task….In San Francisco, two-thirds of gay men had suffered the debilitating disease [hepatitis B]. It was now proven statistically that a gay man had one chance in five of being infected with the hepatitis B virus within twelve months of stepping off the bus into a typical urban gay scene. Within five years, infection was a virtual certainty.

Another problem was enteric diseases, like amebiasis and giardiasis, caused by organisms that lodged themselves in the intestinal tracts of gay men with alarming frequency. At the New York Gay Men’s Health Project…30 percent of the patients suffered from gastrointestinal parasites. In San Francisco, incidence of the “Gay Bowel Syndrome,” as it was called in medical journals, had increased by 8,000 percent after 1973. Infection with these parasites was a likely effect of anal intercourse, which was apt to put a man in contact with his partner’s fecal matter, and was virtually a certainty through the then-popular practice of rimming, which medical journals politely call anal-oral intercourse.

What was troubling was that nobody in the gay community seemed to care about these waves of infection…

[The] commercialization of gay sex was all part of the scene, an aspect of the homosexual life-style in which the epidemics of venereal disease, hepatitis, and enteric disorders thrived. The gay liberation movement of the 1970s had spawned a business of bathhouses and sex clubs…[S]ex was part and parcel of political liberation. The popular bestseller The Joy of Gay Sex, for example, called rimming the “prime taste treat in sex,” while a leftist Toronto newspaper published a story on “rimming as a revolutionary act.” – Shilts, “And the Band Played On,” pp. 18-19

Revolutionary, indeed. And as you can see from this current AIDS flier, the revolution lives on.

Why have gay activists instigated media attention over ex-gays and the husband of Presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann?

Apparently, Mr. Bachmann, who has a PhD in clinical psychology, operates several counseling centers which also offer services to homosexual clients seeking to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions.  But because even one ex-gay proves that homosexual behavior is not innate or immutable, the gay lobby’s fear of their former members results in false claims and attacks aimed at preventing homosexuals from exercising their right to self-determination. They cannot bear to have even one homosexual leave homosexuality, hence their outrage at Dr. Bachmann.

I know because I am ex-gay myself.  I suffer more harassment as a former homosexual than I ever did as an out and proud homosexual.

The ex-gay community includes thousands of former homosexuals like myself who benefited from counseling.  We did not choose our homosexual feelings, but we did exercise our right to seek help to change those feelings.  As a registered nurse, I saw hundreds of gay men die of AIDS before I finally left the gay lifestyle.

Contrary to the myths being generated by outraged homosexuals, counseling for unwanted same-sex attractions is not prohibited by any medical association.  Unhappy homosexuals are not children in need of parental permission and can freely choose their own therapeutic treatment just like anyone else.

The Bachmann incident demonstrates that as homosexuals gain more civil rights, heterosexuals are losing theirs.  Because gays are a wealthy and politically powerful minority, they claim access to media attention, political power and corporate influence that middle America does not have.

Dependent on the wealth of the gay community for his election and reelection campaigns, President Obama vigorously implements gay, bisexual and transgender policies at every level of the federal government, yet omits the only unpopular status of sexual orientation — that of ex-gay.  But to his credit, Obama refused to cave in to homosexuals when they demanded he remove ex-gay singer Donnie McClurkin from a campaign fundraiser.

President Obama needs to demonstrate that kind of courage once more, and support those who change their sexual orientation as much as he supports those who change their gender. But who will ask him? A jittery media fearful of gay reprisals remain silent, a further testament to homosexual influence and power.

While the media look the other way, the ex-gay community is being harassed and publicly denounced by unforgiving gay activists because of our unpopular sexual orientation.

Wayne Besen of the hate group Truth Wins Out, and other modern day Sauls, stalk and expose ‘out’ ex-gays in a negative light to ensure that they retreat back into the closet.  Lambda Legal supports the establishment of GLBT Centers at public universities but blocks any attempt at ex-gay equal access.  Corporate shareholder resolutions to include ex-gays in anti-discrimination policies are repeatedly defeated by the gay community.

The Human Rights Campaign demands same-sex marriage for gays while fighting ex-gay equality. One of their latest victories is to successfully bully the World Bank into denying funds to ex-gay charities while allowing gay organizations to participate.

Yet ex-gays are not dangerous or deluded as homosexual extremists charge.  We are the National Education Association’s Ex-Gay Educators Caucus.  We are Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays, which successfully sued the District of Columbia government for refusing to recognize former homosexuals in its sexual orientation protections.  We are your doctors, teachers, ministers, family, and neighbors.

The American Psychological Association adheres to a code of ethics which calls on their members to respect a person’s right to self-determination.  Therefore the only question about the Dr. Bachmann news is this:  Should homosexuals have the right to determine heterosexuality?  That is, if a gay man decides he wants to live as a healthy heterosexual, as I decided, should homosexuals have the right to veto that decision?

The answer will determine if America is to be ruled by a politically powerful minority like the gay community, or if equality and justice for all will prevail.  As for me, I long to live in an America where my friends and I are not hounded by gay activists because I chose to change from gay to straight.
