CHICAGO–Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) President Peter LaBarbera issued the following statement today on President Barack Obama announcing his support for homosexual “marriage”:

President Obama’s embrace of homosexual “marriage” (so-called) is surprising only in its timing. Most Americans do not realize that Obama was FOR homosexual “marriage” years ago as a State Senate candidate in Illinois, before switching to “Civil Unions.” Now this president, like a chameleon changing colors, returns full circle to advocating “marriage” between people of the same sex – as a public Christian, no less.

Obama’s embrace of homosexual “marriage” (an oxymoron) completes his sellout of the American people, and of God, on this critical issue that speaks to issues far deeper than politics.  Many will remember this 2008 presidential debate exchange between then-candidate Sen. Obama and Saddleback Church pastor Rick Warren:

REV. RICK WARREN: Define marriage.

SEN. BARACK OBAMA: I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. (Applause.) Now, for me as a Christian, it’s also a sacred union. You know, God’s in the mix. (Applause.)

That solemn affirmation of real marriage helped Obama become president, but four years later it appears to have been a sham –an artful pose intended to convey piety and moderation to gullible Christians. As President, Obama has gone so far as to unconstitutionally refuse to defend the Defense of Marriage Act – passed overwhelmingly by a bipartisan Congress and signed into law by Democratic president Bill Clinton — to help his homosexual activist allies in their “marriage” quest.  Yet they demanded more.

Once again, as he did to justify his support of proud homosexuality (dismissing Romans 1), the president twists Scripture to rationalize his expedient rejection of biblical Truth. With unparalleled chutzpah, the same Obama who called marriage “sacred” now cites the Golden Rule to justify its absurd and revolutionary redefinition to include sexual perversion (homosexuality). It seems precious little is truly sacred to the Left, secular or religious. God cannot bless sin, and no true Christian would confirm others in a sinful lifestyle – one that merits eternal judgment (I Corinthians 6). The good news is that many men and women once trapped in homosexuality have found freedom through the same Christ whose words Obama distorts.

The “evolution” of Obama – and Vice President Joe Biden, and Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and so many prominent Democrats (and libertarian Republicans) – toward accepting “same-sex marriage,” is really a story of the corruption of modern liberalism and, indeed, America’s slide into moral decadence. The chattering classes dwell obsessively on politics – and certainly Obama’s capitulation was driven by pressure from his well-funded “gay” activist base. But America’s precipitous moral decline – represented by the slow, and then rapid, embrace of evil (organized sin) by its leaders –tells a more important story: America is losing its goodness because we are leaving God behind.

Yesterday, Barack Obama used his bully pulpit to hasten America’s slide into oblivion (sexual immorality accompanies the decline of civilizations). The LGBT cheerleaders otherwise known as the media love him all the more for his trendy defection. But how Republicans and everyday Americans — especially Christians — respond to Obama’s moral treachery will say a great deal about whether there is any hope left for this nation that professes to be “under God” even as it brazenly rejects Him.

Two Manly Men in Maine

The boys are back in town.

Not that they ever went anywhere. But Mike Heath and Paul Madore are teaming up once again to take on the sodomites in Maine.

That is bad news for the gay-rights thugs, and they know it. Heath and Madore are like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Batman and Robin, or the Lone Ranger and Tonto.

They are the homosexual movement’s worst nightmare.

For the seventh time in recent history, there is an attempt by the deviant-left to foist “sodomy-based marriage” onto the grandchildren of the citizens of Maine. When does “no” mean no?

Six times they have tried, and six times this dynamic-duo has helped push them back. It hasn’t been easy, and it hasn’t come without a cost. They both have the scars to prove it.

But at least they have scars. Rare is the man willing to take the arrows that come for standing publicly for what he believes. With all due respect to homo-queen Elton John, Madore and Heath can sing “I’m still standing” as they enter the ring in what they believe is the final round against the sodomy crowd.

“We are going for the knockout,” Heath recently told me. “We are going to turn them back with a 70 percent vote. It will be a long time before the homosexual activists get off of the canvas in Maine.”

“It is time to get serious with the society on the issue of homosexuality and the practical effects that are very harmful to society that this distorted and perverted lifestyle will have. It is time to take the gloves off. Good people just keep moving the line back in regards to homosexuality. But not any more,” says Madore.

Heath, an ordained minister and pastor of the non 501 (c)(3) Helping Hands Ministry, and Madore, a strong working-class conservative-Catholic, are not to be taken lightly.

“For 30 years we have bought the lies and we have played by the Homosexual’s rules. We have tried the “nice” approach to Christianity and have continually lost ground. For me, and this ministry, it is not about a political referendum. I spent a career depending on politicians and it took me awhile to see the light. This is not a political issue. It is a moral issue. Our goal is to re-stigmatize sodomy. To paint a picture in the mind of Mainers exactly what it is that sodomites DO. We want to make the thought of sodomy abominable once again,” Heath says.

These guys play to win to win. They believe the future of the culture is at stake.

Heath used to run with the “big dogs” in the pro-family movement. Although his name is not as nationally known, he was at the table with James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Ralph Reed and the boys as the fight for culture has been waged over the years. He saw the emergence of the unholy alliance as the Christian leadership slowly morphed into Republican lapdogs.

The Christians held a seat at the table, but the “Republicans” are the ones who called the shots.

Truth be told? The Republican establishment has never been comfortable with the partnership.

They loved the Christians’ votes, but not their issues. After three decades, what do the Christians have to show for the hundreds of millions of dollars that the grass roots donors have trusted them with?

Well, they have a beautiful complex in Colorado Springs, palatial offices in Washington D.C., silk ties and leather shoes in the halls of Congress, and millions of names in their donor bases.

What have they given us in return? Perhaps Dr. Dobson could tell us:

“We tried to defend the unborn child, the dignity of the family, but it was a holding action, We are awash in evil and the battle is still to be waged. We are right now in the most discouraging period of that long conflict. Humanly speaking, we can say we have lost all those battles.”

It would be interesting to note that shortly after that honest statement, Dr. James Dobson was forced out of Focus on The Family, an organization he founded and led for a generation because they “wanted to take a new, less divisive direction.” Yep. Fighting abortion, sodomy, and sin has become too divisive to the Christians in nice suits.

God bless Dr. Dobson for all he did. Today, Focus on the Family is MIA in the culture war. They have returned to the safety of “pastoring the family” instead of training the troops to defend the family by fighting the enemy.

Sad, isn’t it? Most Christian organizations are proudly endorsing Mitt Romney in the battle between the “Morman and the Muslim.” Their only hope is that the arm of the Republican Party can defend Christians better than the hand of the Lord. But I am sure those donations are still rolling in…

Mike Heath knows how Dr. Dobson feels. After 25 years, he too, was forced out of his position at the Christian Civic League of Maine. What was his crime? He played to win. He recognized that it was war and he understood the stakes. Unfortunately, others didn’t. They felt it was nobler to lose looking good in their fancy suits, than to win with a bloody nose and holes in your pants.

In a recent press release “the boys in the suits” at the National Organization for Marriage (NOM, which just endorsed Romney), [NOM President Brian Brown] said, “We reject attempts to make this campaign [over homosexual "marriage" in Maine] about the morality of homosexuality.” Homosexuality is not a moral issue, huh?

Yep, we have lost a lot of ground but have sure looked polished doing it. Most national pro-family organizations have modeled the church. They want to be nicer than Jesus. Well Heath and Madore want to win. They think Jesus is glorified through victory. Can you help? Here is their plan.

Madore is Rocky Balboa. Heath is his trainer Mickey. Together, these defenders of the Faith are going to take sodomy head-on. I read the following in a recent newsletter I received.

“The issue is not marriage. The issue is not “rights.” The issue is not “fairness.” The issue is sodomy. Homosexuality is not a lifestyle. Homosexuality is a behavior. ‘Sodomy is most commonly legally defined as any contact between the genitals of one person, and the mouth or anus of another’.” Gaylib.com.

Permit me to clarify the definition. Sodomy is one MAN inserting his genitals into the mouth or anus of ANOTHER MAN.

Say it again. Say it out loud so your ears hear it. Picture it in your mind. Picture Barney Frank and Elton John in action…Barney Frank putting his genitals into Elton John’s…

That is what they want to tell us is normal…no wait…tell our children is normal. Into that “union” they are asking permission to place children. Would you let them put YOUR grandchild into a sodomy-based family? Why would you let them do it to someone else’s child? Have normal people lost their minds?”

Rev. Mike Heath and “Mr. Maine” Paul Madore are taking the gloves off. They are putting the pictures on mobile trucks and are taking the truth of sodomy to every city, every school, and every home in Maine. Here is the picture they will put on the trucks that they will drive throughout Maine.

Oh, how the pigs will squeal. The sodomites will cry “hate” as if the truth of a picture can be hateful. The Christians in pretty suits will cry “mean” as if being nice ever won a war.

It is God who first called them sodomites. If it is good enough for Him then it should be good enough for us.

It is time to take off the gloves. It is time to get down and dirty. It is time we fought like we wanted to win.

A broad coalition of pro-family groups recommends that students stay away from school on Friday, April 20, 2012, the national “Day of Silence,” if the school is officially recognizing and/or allowing students and teachers to observe this event during instructional time by a silent protest. High schools and even some middle schools are now the targets of this event.

The Day of Silence is supposedly led by students, but actually led by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which describes itself as “championing LGBT issues in K-12 education since 1990.” Did you catch that– “K through 12”? Younger and younger students are the target of this group. The younger, the better because they are easier to manipulate.

The Day of Silence goal is not, as I am told frequently by outraged emails from misinformed students, to help end all bullying. The goal is to exploit the tender sympathies of kids to promote approval of homosexuality and gender confusion. The agenda is everything; Judeo-Christian morality is the enemy; and sadly, kids are the tools.

GLSEN teaches students that homosexuals and gender-confused people are “silenced” and under persecution by those who object to this behavior, and that traditional moral beliefs cause bullying. No hard, objective data exists to support this contention, and the event itself causes hostility, confusion, and division.

Here are ten reasons I believe Christian students in particular should refuse to honor this event by school attendance and why Christian teachers should plan activities that require students to verbally participate:

1. A silent protest in support of immoral, God-dishonoring behavior is in itself profoundly deceptive. All sexual behavior outside man/woman marriage is sinful in God’s eyes. Why should Christian students and teachers be in the position of accommodating this flagrant violation of their principles? Teachers would not want polyamorous students to be bullied, but would schools permit students to participate in a classroom protest in support of polyamory?

2. Any explicit or implicit message encouraging teens and even younger students to view homosexual acts as normative or moral is not “social justice” or “tolerance,” but, in reality, child corruption.

3. Allowing classroom silence to honor the Day of Silence unleashes tremendous peer pressure for students and even teachers to endorse sexual immorality, or be considered “enemies” of those peers and teachers proudly involved in homosexuality. This puts people of faith in the position of violating Christian doctrine through tacit approval (Romans 16:17-18; Ephesians 5:11). They are also intimidated into self-censorship, which undermines both fundamental First Amendment and educational principles.

4. The Day of Silence fosters hostile and bigoted attitudes toward Christians and others with traditional moral beliefs; spreads inaccurate and harmful information; and promotes unproven, non-factual Leftist moral beliefs as objective truths.

5. Using legitimate concerns about bullying and teen suicide to promote approval of homosexuality in schools is educational malpractice. It’s totally unnecessary to stop bullying and prevent harm to students, and Christians should not be a party to this gross distortion of a genuine problem. No one needs to affirm homosexuality or gender-confusion in order to prevent bullying, but GLSEN routinely takes this deceitful position.

6. Teachers know real bullying when they see it, and most teachers address it. But GLSEN and the Day of Silence pressure teachers not merely to address bullying behavior but to affirm Leftist moral and political beliefs. Since when did it become the job of government employees to become public relations agents for Leftist moral propositions or the good reputation of homosexuality?  Stopping bullying can be accomplished without becoming champions of the non-factual assumptions of the homosexuality-affirming movement.

7. There are legitimate lessons students should learn about prejudice and bias. But Day of Silence promoters deceptively link moral objections about homosexuality to racial discrimination or anti-Semitism in an attempt to legitimize the pro-homosexual ideology and portray homosexuals as perennial victims, while censoring through social pressure all dissenting views.

8. Teachers have used the DOS to inappropriately become classroom advocates and models of this deviant behavior. In one Ohio school, a teacher used a Power Point presentation to tell students about her “gay” support and even disclosed to students that she was a lesbian, without prior parental notification or permission from her principal.

9. The health and lifestyle risks of homosexuality are virtually never shared on the Day of Silence. Instead, students are given the deceitful impression that homosexuality is just as safe and worthy an identity as heterosexual dating and marriage. The notion that same-sex attraction and volitional acts constitute an identity worthy of affirmation is not a fact, and government employees have no right, either explicitly or implicitly, to promote it to other people’s children.

10. The DOS message inhibits Christians from witnessing to their peers caught up in homosexuality or gender confusion. There is salvation through Jesus Christ and the hope of leaving this sin behind. Calling homosexuality a sin on the Day of Silence would be considered “hateful,” when it is actually God-honoring and respectful to the hearer. It may lead them to an eternal home with God. But that won’t happen if the truth is suppressed, which it always is on the Day of Silence. Parents, keep your children home that day. If your children have the courage to witness, they can do it on another day when perhaps they will have a fair chance of being heard.

What’s Wrong with “Gay” Pride?

June used to be a month for weddings, graduations, Father’s Day and the beginning of summer. Unfortunately in recent years, it is also a time when all over the nation, many cities sponsor homosexual “pride” events. But I think these events are a time for shame and sorrow, not pride.

Columbus will hold a gay pride parade on Saturday, June 18^th, Cleveland’s will be Saturday, June 25^th, and Cincinnati’s is on July 10. Dayton already held a parade on June 4^th.

For the third year in a row, our President issued an official White House Proclamation declaring June  “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender” Pride Month.

In this proclamation, Obama said, quote:

Each June, we commemorate…courageous individuals …and we rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Unquote.

Of course, this statement doesn’t express the actual truth. All Americans have equal rights now. What the goal of homosexuals is to force acceptance of this behavior on all Americans. These are special rights based on sin and there’s nothing courageous about it.

Among his accomplishments, Obama mentioned the repeal of the military ban on homosexuality. He even said that national security would be “strengthened” as a result. He also cited his many executive orders granting new rights to homosexuals.

Then he mentioned his priority on youth. He said:

Many senior Administration officials have also joined me in reaching out to LGBT youth who have been bullied by recording “It Gets Better” video messages to assure them they are not alone.

“It Gets Better” is a video campaign organized by homosexual activist Dan Savage. [Editor's Note: see AFTAH press release HERE calling on Savage to take down his disgusting web creation, "Santorum.com."] It has garnered the support of leftist politicians, including Obama, as well as some celebrities, to record messages for kids with the goal of encouragement. That would be a worthy goal if that is where it ended, Unfortunately it is not, and unfortunately, Dan Savage is hardly the kind of person one would think the president would align himself with.

“It Gets Better” features encouraging words to kids but also includes endorsement of homosexuality, and implies that objections to homosexuality are the same as any bullying they may be experiencing. And Dan Savage is hardly the person to talk about bullying.

First of all, Dan Savage writes a very explicit sex advice column, but then he also has been outrageously vicious to Christian conservatives, including Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America, and Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth. Both have objected to his work, his anti-Christian vitriol and his lifestyle. Savage, who has a homosexual partner in a same sex “marriage” (not really, but that’s what he believes), has bragged publicly about having group sex that includes this partner. And– these two recently adopted a little boy.

Penny Nance objected to the broadcast of “It Gets Better” on a recent “American Idol” show, especially with her fourth-grade son watching.  Nance wrote about her concerns, and Dan Savage responded with a string of insults, calling her personally vulgar terms and concluded by expressing a hope that her little son might turn out to be a homosexual.

These are not attitudes nor behaviors to be “proud” of, friends. This is darkness. This is bullying. What can we do? Go to a “gay” pride parade and express your concern in a civil way.  We must keep our heads, speak out, and pray for these lost people, even as great evil is occurring, even at the highest levels in our land.

I hope you are having a blessed Christmas season and enjoying spending time with your family during this special season that reminds us of God’s great love for mankind: “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Three lesser-known verses follow that point to belief in Jesus as the key to salvation and eternal life: “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:17-19)

This has been a challenging year for Americans For Truth, as we prepare for some big changes that will put us on solid footing to continue for decades in our unique calling of telling the unvarnished truth about a Sin Movement that calls itself “gay.”

Like previous years, 2011 saw the aggressive homosexual-transsexual lobby grow more arrogant, intolerant and anti-Christian with each passing day — commensurate with its expanding power and utter lack of accountability from the liberal media. But since Christmas Day is just around the corner, I’ll hold off on recounting the lowlights of 2011 until next week. Jesus is the reason…

Instead, I’d like to talk about Jesus Christ. My mother, who has passed away, used to love this rejoinder to the fluff and commercialism surrounding Christmas: “Jesus is the reason for the season.” As much as I love the Christmas season, the secular- and Santa overkill surrounding the holiday only accentuates the trivialization of deep spiritual truth that plagues our nation. These days, even non-Christians recognize that America is in a severe moral crisis – yet unlike our fiscal woes, the secular media block any serious discussion of this social and spiritual malady.

Many give lip service to Jesus, without personal faith, out of sense of history and cultural tradition. “Cultural Christians,” we call them. But the Left has long recognized the value of using Christian idealism to advance its ungodly agendas, e.g., communism. In recent years, the self-styled “queer” lobby has latched on to this strategy – pushing the full homosexualist and gender confusion agenda in the name of “civil rights,” “social justice,” and even morality.

Yes, advocates of sexual sin (masquerading as civil rights crusaders) now embrace Jesus, too. Heck, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the world’s most powerful homosexual lobby group, has an online, pro-LGBT Bible study! (Here is one Christmas lesson from “Out in the Scriptures”; note the curious analogy to Mary and emphasis on “gay” victimization.)

Proudly ‘Gay’ Christians?

Another ominous development is the rise of a proud “gay Christian” movement — which to me makes about as much sense as the “Christian porn-users” movement or “Adulterers for Christ.” It just doesn’t work, biblically speaking (see www.RobGagnon.net). Some who take part in this movement are just spiritually confused people, but others are cunning strategists attempting to co-opt Christ and manipulate Bible-believing Christians to win the Culture War. That means sounding more religious and moral in this religious nation, a tactic I saw being honed at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force organizing conference I attended undercover earlier this year.

To get an idea of how outrageous and blasphemous the proud homosexualist movement can be, watch this bizarre claim by former HRC staff (and Obama appointee) Harry Knox, who calls his homosexuality a “gift from God” that he would never want to give back out of “respect” for his creator. I got hammered by homosexual activists for calling this quotation “Satan’s Talking Points” – but I stand by it because Satan is the one who turns evil into good (Isaiah 5:20) and vice versa. Satan attempts to deceive mankind into following sin rather than the Real Jesus, and he does it by making it seem as natural and harmless as possible.

Media mendacity

Many jaded secularists and progressives can accept or even rally behind an ambiguous “Jesus” who champions homosexual “rights” – but not One whose followers who are called by Him to resist organized sexual sin. The same Left and cynical media that go gaga over the modern absurdity of “same-sex marriage” simply will not accept a Jesus who invades the life of sinners to lead them out of their bondage (addiction) to the homosexual lifestyle – people like Stephen Black and Charlene Cothran.

One almost comical indication of media mendacity is the spectacle of professional journalists – and I use that term liberally — regurgitating homosexual propagandist Wayne Besen’s cynical “Pray Away the Gay” slogan. This little chunk of semantic bigotry is obviously intended to ridicule people trying to overcome homosexuality with God’s help. (Would the media ever malign Christian ministries trying to help drug addicts go clean through prayer by calling them “Pray Away the Drugs”?) Reality check: many men and women have left male homosexuality, lesbianism and transgenderism behind after being born-again through the Lord Jesus Christ — living out (like all believers in the Messiah) this wondrous New Testament truth: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV)

Tim Tebow and the Real Jesus

Tim Tebow proclaims Ephesians 2:8-10 on the field: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast...."

The current fascination with and controversy surrounding Tim Tebow exposes the spiritual shallowness of America’s elite-driven culture. The secular Left can’t believe that a man would actually live his very public life unashamedly to glorify and honor Jesus Christ. (Why, he’s even a virgin!) “Stop the Jesus talk,” they plead, as Tebow breaks the liberal speech code by refusing to hide his faith behind the walls of a church. Doesn’t he know that only secular “religions” like radical environmentalism, “animal rights,” sports fanaticism and “gay marriage” merit such public adoration?

For so many in this culture that once called itself “Christian,” the attitude seems to be: Jesus who?  We don’t want Jesus in our lives because Jesus – at least the biblical Jesus – might cause us to reflect on our sins and the self-centered way we are living. Better to make Him a quaint relic of a bygone era – not relevant to our modern era of sophistication, “diversity” and science.

In so many quarters – especially where liberalism runs deep — people behave as if Jesus is not Real — and that His Word, the Bible, is not the holy guidebook for life. The modern liberals’ Jesus has no authority – and the Bible, like our Constitution, is constantly “evolving” in its meaning. Thus, if the Presbyterian Church USA wants to ordain practicing homosexuals, well, why not if they can get the votes?!

On the political front, it is commonplace these days for openly religious (“Christian”) politicians – from whatever denomination – to become shills for homosexuality, abortion-on-demand and other social evils. (Ditto for phony “orthodox” Jews like Sen. Joe Lieberman, who manages to wear his piety on his sleeve and be a crusader for homosexual activist legislation at the same time.)

At least the atheists – reprehensible as their ideology is — are honest about their disdain for God. So many religious people try to have it both ways.

Jesus matters. The less authority He and His Holy Word, the Bible, have in the United States of America, the more our society will deteriorate. We’re seeing that today: our movies and entertainment have become a moral sewer where anything goes. Anything, that is, except the repudiation of liberal groupthink on sexual sin, especially homosexuality. (Don’t look for a successful, happy ex-“gay” on the Big Screen any time soon.)

Jesus Christ-lite?

So loathe are we to judge in Politically Correct America that even many Christian believers are afraid to speak up when apostasy rears its head.

Controversial Christian "evangelist" Andrew Marin goes to Chicago Gay Pride parades and says "I'm Sorry" to celebrating homosexuals. Bible-and-homosexuality authority Prof. Rob Gagnon says Marin's application of Scripture is thoroughly confused.

Some Christians have become “nicer than Jesus” by attempting to reconcile “gay rights” with biblical Christianity. (Perhaps I should say “meaner than Jesus” since they undermine Scriptural Truth.) Liberal evangelical Andrew Marin has bought into the lie of “sexual orientation” – which is nowhere to be found in the Bible. A symbol of the guilt-ridden, emasculated Church, Marin and his followers offer frequent and vocal public apologies to homosexuals. Every year at the Chicago “Gay Pride” parade (a boisterous and bawdy street celebration of “out and proud” homosexuality), Marin holds up a sign that reads, “I’m sorry. I used to be a Bible-banging homophobe.” Of course, no matter how “sensitive” and “nice” Marin and his followers are, it never will be quite enough to satisfy homosexual activists, who demand total capitulation to and celebration of their lifestyle. [See one pro-"gay" Marin critic HERE.] These poor souls don’t need more apologies; they need to humble themselves and repent (turn away from their sin) before the Lord (1 Corinthians 6).

Marin has aligned with fellow “evangeliberals” like Peggy Campolo (wife of popular evangelical speaker Tony Campolo), who posted a video on Marin’s website with her own “I’m sorry” message. I wonder if Mrs. Campolo will ever apologize (repent) to Jesus Christ for her anti-biblical embrace of “same-sex marriage” — and when will Andy say “I’m sorry” to God for confusing believers and non-believers alike about the Bible’s clear prohibition of all homosexual behavior.

In the same spirit of elevating ambiguity over the Scriptures’ clear teaching on homosexuality and sexual sin, the influential Willow Creek Community Church has quietly dumped its “ex-gay” ministry – coincidentally after a radical homosexual group, Soulforce, met with WCCC leaders and asked them to do just that. (AFTAH has led sign protests at Willow Creek’s South Barrington, Illinois mega-campus, calling attention to Willow’s unbiblical compromise; also see this article by DL Foster, who runs a terrific blog monitoring the false “gay Christian” movement and who himself overcame homosexuality through Christ [I interviewed DL Foster for AFTAH HERE].)

Meanwhile, over at Grove City College, which boasts about its “authentically Christian” character, a strange, new phenomenon has taken hold: ostensibly thoroughly “evangelical,” Grove City employs a professor, Warren Throckmorton, who went from being a pro-family advocate to a pro-homosexual activist — pushing the idea that most homosexuals cannot change (their “sexual orientation”). Throckmorton’s position challenges the very essence of the Gospel: Jesus Christ’s regenerative power to change people’s lives. Nevertheless, various attempts to hold GCC accountable for the wayward professor’s “gay”- affirming positions (including support for same-sex “civil unions”) have been futile.

‘Conservatives’ for sin?

Libertarian Republicans like Margaret Hoover are pushing the GOP to support homosexual "marriage."

In the political world, where polls and the media carry far greater authority than Scripture, adherence to a principled, God-honoring position on homosexuality is falling apart. The libertarians are busy seducing Republicans into affirming “same-sex marriage” in the name of liberty and monogamy — cheered on by LGBT-adoring media who have a special place in their heart for right-wingers who sell out on social issues. (Challenge for libertarians: what about citizens’ liberty of conscience and religion in the face of the Pro-Homosexuality State?) Conservatives stop “conserving” (biblical) truth when they become beholden to Republican Party politics in an age when sexual morality and, well, normalcy are no longer hip. How do you explain icons on the Right like Ann Coulter, Michael Barone and Tucker Carlson advocating a “conservative” version of homosexuality? (Coulterjoined the Advisory Board of GOProud, a pro-GOP homosexual activist group, and left the radical homosexual agenda largely out of “Demonic,” her book on liberal mob-politics; Barone is floating the idea of Republicans embracing “gay marriage” to lure young voters; and Carlson supports homosexual “marriage” as a “civilizing” force for homosexuals.)

Call me an idealist, but whatever happened to pursuing a policy because it’s morally right – before our holy Creator God – rather than pandering to the fickle whims and corrupt social trends of sinful men? God does not support ‘Republican homosexuality’ any more than the Democratic variety.

Abomination, or identity?

That’s the funny thing about an abomination: it cannot be redeemed through politics or attachment to noble institutions like marriage. (Rather, it degrades both.) Like abortion, pornography and adultery (and racism, promiscuity, incest and [insert SIN here]), homosexuality is just plain wrong. Even pagans understand this — because Nature itself discriminates against homosexual behavior, e.g., with its inability to procreate and the astonishingly disproportionate linkage between men practicing homosexuality and sex diseases.

As whacked and dysfunctional as Gay Pride Parades are, high-profile “conservatives” and Christians who help mainstream homosexuality (read: “gay/lesbian/trans” identities) do more damage to the cause of Truth than a thousand burly men in high heels strutting down Main Street. These “conservatives” need to get back to the Real Jesus and to critiquing the Kinsey-ite Sexual Revolution that is dragging America into the cultural pit.

But if homosexuality-embracing conservatives operating in the mostly secular world of politics and media do so much damage, how much more so Christian leaders who manage to convince people that the same Jesus (God) who calls sex between men “detestable” would be standing right beside the LGBT lobby crusading for homosexual “marriage”? Shame.

Get thee behind Me, Satan! (Matthew 16:23)

There is no innocuous “gay” identity any more than there is a “porn” identity or a promiscuous (“swinger”) identity. Sin cannot be nuanced or prettied it up before God – no matter how many campaigns are waged on its behalf. And if we negate sin, we negate Jesus – the One who came to earth to die for our sins. Humble acknowledgement of our sinful state draws us to the Savior – initially resulting in our salvation through repentance, and then continually as believers in Christ.

Counter-cultural Jesus

The marketing campaign to mainstream homosexual behavior is one of the most amazing and yet outrageous in human history. This homosexual-authored book "After the Ball" helped set out a marketing strategy for "gay rights."

The Real Jesus is counter-cultural. Christians are called to demonstrate Radical Love and Radical Truth toward people practicing homosexuality. We must hate homosexual practice and advocacy as sin, without hating those who struggle with this unnatural temptation. In fact, we must show them supernatural grace. That’s the Jesus way.

In a free society, Christians should resist wicked homosexual militants and groups, and organized evil in general. That means standing up in whatever way you can to the well-funded and powerful homosexualist movement that pursues, with cult-like devotion, its goal of rationalizing same-sex identities and behavior. We must admonish impressionable youth — and the wider culture – that it is a false and unbiblical to cast homosexuality as “who you are,” as opposed to a behavioral sin that people can fall into.

The “gay” marketing campaign to redefine sexual perversion as a civil right is in one of the most spectacularly successful anti-God movements in human history. But it is still wrong. As a faithful Christian, you must be willing to stand with God and against sinful men, even if that means you will be called a name or suffer for righteousness’ sake.

Sadly, America is a nation and civilization in steep decline. And, as historians like the late Will Durant asserted, societal acceptance of homosexuality and sexual immorality are a sign of that decline. We have forsaken our nation’s biblical birthright. Now our President, Barack Obama and his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton – both professing Christians — are spitting in God’s eye by pledging to promote homosexuality abroad as a “human right” – just as the Left previously fought to use American money and influence to promote abortion in foreign countries.

Christian integrity

These dark times call out for integrity in the Body of Christ. The smug secularists on the Left (and Right) will cast us as prudes, or self-righteous know-it-alls – or Bible-thumping know-nothings! But the truth is we are flawed followers of a holy God trying earnestly to be faithful to His inerrant Word. Christians are called to trust and obey Jesus Christ, not the culture, in an age in which so many elites and celebrities think they know better than God. They don’t.

The Jesus Way is to say, “No, I will not support in any way a behavior that my Lord calls sinful.” And while we take our stand, we must continuously point men and women – and brainwashed youth – to the One who came in a manger to Bethlehem so many years ago. The One who came to earth specifically to die in our place – and who now sits in glory at the right hand of His heavenly Father.

I certainly don’t think Richard Cohen or anyone needs to apologize for stating the obvious truth that “Change [away from and rejecting homosexuality] is possible.” If we were to apologize for everything that “offends” hardened LGBT activists, we’d be apologizing 24/7.

The question is, when will YOU apologize for affirming homosexuality as an acceptable (or innocuous) identity — while claiming (falsely) to uphold biblical orthodoxy? When will YOU repent for working hand-in-hand with “gay” activists who are diametrically opposed to the Christian worldview on homosexuality as an overcomable sexual sin (and an abomination) — by actively discrediting the need AND potential for wholesome change away from same-sex behavior and indulging same-sex desires?

You should either publicly apologize for undermining Scriptural (and observable) Truth — or renounce your claims to be faithful to historic Christian sexual teachings. This request is made more urgent by your employment with an evangelical institution, Grove City College, which purports to be “authentically Christian” — something few biblically-faithful observers of your recent flirtation with pro-”gay” advocacy would accuse you of being. 

I can document all the above statements concerning your conduct and “gay”-affirming advocacy, which has caused widespread consternation and confusion in Christian circles, and within the pro-family movement. You (or anyone) may publish this if you wish.

Richard Cohen’s International Healing Foundation has re-invented itself as a LGBTQU (U for unwanted) organization on a new website called Coming Out Loved.

On Coming Out Loved, gay affirming people can find a page full of LGB resources as well as an apology from Cohen:

We at IHF wish to offer a sincere, heartfelt apology to everyone in the LGBTQ community who may have been hurt by our message of “change.” As the director of IHF, I apologize and ask your forgiveness. I did not realize that by stating, “Change is Possible,” some would be offended. That was the furthest thing from my heart and mind. To think that our message of “change” would cause further pain to LGBTQ youth and adults is painful to imagine … I am deeply and profoundly sorry.

Really? Is this a sign of the apocalypse?

Whatever it is, I doubt it is going very far. The website also has the old references to same-sex attraction being caused by environment and family background, and to treatment to resolve “unwanted same-sex attraction.” NARTH’s protocol for change therapy is there along with the old list of reparative therapists for referral. Cohen is still offering his book Coming Out Straight, one of the most direct promotions of the change paradigm ever. Moreover, Chris Doyle is speaking this weekend at the NARTH conference, along with a speaker who promotes criminalization of homosexuality.

Perhaps I am cynical, but the changes just look like business as usual along with a parody of gay affirming therapy.

I am looking forward to seeing reaction from AFTAH, PFOX, Liberty Counsel, JONAH and the like.

Seriously, if the IHF crew want to be taken seriously, they need to explain more about how and why they are expecting people to trust them. Also, if the same touch therapy and pillow beating protocols are on the table, then taking a neutral stance is still not enough to address concerns about their work.

The press conference was called by Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, and was atttended Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH Board Member Matt Barber, and other pro-family speakers. Good afternoon and welcome everyone to the Christian Liberty Academy. I am Pastor Calvin Lindstrom of the Church of Christian Liberty. Christian Liberty Academy is a ministry of the Chaurch of Christian Liberty.

In light of the threat and act of hate and violence directed against the school, Scott Lively, and Peter LaBarbera, I would like to make four points.

First, I would again like to thank the Arlington Heights Police Department for their thorough response to the act of hate and threat made against us. They exercised professionalism, courtesy, and due caution. You can imagine that after the attack there was uncertainty and great concern. The presence of the AHPD helped bring a measure of calm. I am thankful to God for the response of the AHPD. We have thanked them in various ways already, but it is important to express our appreciation for their service.

Second, right from the beginning the banquet on Saturday was cast in a negative light. An article in a local paper was headlined – Gay rights opponent in Arlington Heights Saturday.

Attention was brought to the banquet not by the Christian Liberty Academy but by the Gay Liberation Network which issued a press release condemning Scott Lively and announcing that they would be protesting his appearance.

So from the beginning the banquet was cast as a controversial event held at Christian Liberty Academy. Dr. Scott Lively, a very honorable man, who currently ministers in Springfield, Massachusetts, is portrayed as an opponent of gay rights rather than a pro-family speaker and minister to the needy and downtrodden. Yes, Dr. Lively has spoken and written on the issue of homosexuality, but that is not the entire focus of his work as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am not in anyway blaming the media for the attack, but from the beginning a peaceful event was portrayed as being controversial and cast in a somewhat negative light. Because of this, the Christian Liberty Academy was also from the beginning portrayed in a suspicious way. Why would we allow such a controversial subject to be hosted in our building?

It should also be noted that the local press downplayed the direct attack and threat against Dr. Scott Lively. I am not here to berate the press, but Scott Lively was the specific brunt of the attack on our facility. This was not brought out as clearly as it should have been because of selective editing of the information that was presented to the press.

Third, it is extremely important to point out the slander directed against Scott Lively and Peter LaBarbera. They have repeatedly been identified as a part of hate group just because one liberal organization [Southern Poverty Law Center] calls them such. This is very serious business in an age of misunderstanding and raised tensions. This is one of the reasons why the Church of Christian Liberty has allowed our facilities to be used by Peter LaBarbera and his organization. He has been the subject of lies, slander, and misrepresentation.

I am not naïve. I do realize the work Peter LaBarbera and others do is viewed as being controversial, but if no one comes to the defense of a person who is under attack, how is that a good thing? I wish other local churches and organizations welcomed Peter LaBarbera to speak. Some have, but many are afraid to do so. We have welcomed Peter not to gain attention for ourselves but to stand with someone who has unfortunately often had to stand alone.

Related to this point, a number of people have suggested that Peter LaBarbera or Scott Lively to gain attention committed the attack on the school. This is absolutely ludicrous and needs no further reply.

Fourth and finally, it should be clearly realized that the position that Peter LaBarbera, Scott Lively, and the Church of Christian Liberty hold in relationship to homosexuality and the Bible is the historic position of the Christian faith. There is absolutely no doubt about this despite what many are trying to suggest today. A person is free to read the Bible and say that he or she doesn’t like what it says about homosexuality. But a person is not free to twist the truth of God’s Word.

I say this because it relates to the controversy that is being addressed today. Why should it be controversial for the Christian Liberty Academy to host speakers who are in agreement with the historic principles of the Christian faith?

I believe that what is being threatened in our society today is the clear message of God’s Word -– both God’s Law and Gospel.

The entire message of Scripture is clear. Homosexual acts are an abomination in God’s sight. This is not some outdated Old Testament concept but the clear teaching of the New Testament. This is the witness of God’s Law.

The witness of the gospel is that there is hope of salvation for all sinners. The work of Jesus Christ has turned away the wrath of God and has satisfied the righteous demands of God’s Law. All men and women are called to trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and to turn
as best they can from their sins and find complete forgiveness of sins.

This is the message that we seek to communicate clearly to our students. This is the message of true hope that we seek to share with the community of Arlington Heights and the world.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Illinois, Oct. 19, 2011 – Pro-homosexual activists attacked the Christian Liberty Academy early October 15th – throwing two large, concrete brick pavers through its glass doors with a hate-note attached– and then issued an online statement claiming responsibility for the crime. The attackers demanded that CLA “shut down” a banquet it was hosting later that evening for the “homophobic hate group,” Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH). But their main target was pro-family veteran Scott Lively, who was honored at the event.

“This is just a sample of what we will do if you don’t shut down Scott Lively and AFTAH … [F**k] Scott Lively. Quit the homophobic [sh*t]!” read the note that accompanied the bricks thrown through CLA’s doors. The apparent “hate crime” against CLA did not deter the Christian school from hosting the banquet for AFTAH, which presented its 2011 ”American Truth Teller” award to Lively, founder of Defend the Family International and the author of “The Pink Swastika.”

Lively was targeted in the online statement for allegedly condoning violence against homosexuals in Uganda. (This is a false charge: Lively, like AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera, condemns all violence and genuine hatred against homosexuals.) The following excerpt is from the statement posted on the leftist Chicago Independent Media Center website:

“These chunks of concrete were thrown through these windows and doors for two reasons: to show that there is a consequence for hatred and homophobia in our community and to directly cause this event to be shut down. If this event is not shut down, and the homophobic day trainings do not end, the Christian liberty academy will continue to be under constant attack.”

After Arlington Heights police came to the scene, they cased the CLA building — a large, former public high school — with bomb-sniffing dogs, according to CLA Pastor Calvin Lindstrom. As it turned out, the assailants apparently did not enter the building.

Taking credit for a crime

The extraordinary aspect to this case is that pro-homosexuality activists boldly took credit for the attack, in an online statement that remains on the leftist “Chicago Independent Media Center” website — signalling a new brazenness by homosexual activists. What follows is a screen shot of the statement [link HERE] taking responsibility for this act of domestic terrorism. It was posted early in the morning of Oct. 15 – just a few hours after the brick-throwing attack by an anonymous author, “PISSED” (This same statement was e-mailed to Christian Liberty Academy, Americans For Truth’s LaBarbera, Scott Lively and others):

The above statement repeats the extreme rhetoric and accusations against Lively by the Gay Liberation Network (GLN), a Chicago-based, Marxist homosexual activist group that routinely demonizes AFTAH and protests AFTAH events – including last year’s three-day Truth Academy. In the weeks leading up to the banquet, GLN announced that it would protest the AFTAH banquet. — and falsely accused Scott Lively of condoning violence against homosexuals in Uganda (and also Americans For Truth President Peter LaBarbera of honoring a man (Lively) who supports violence against homosexuals). The charge is slanderous as both Lively and LaBarbera — like every major pro-family advocate who works on the homosexuality issue — have repeatedly and consistently opposed violence against homosexuals.

At the banquet and a speaking event Friday and Grace Gospel Fellowship Church, Lively reiterated that he steadfastly opposed the death penalty provisions in Ugandan sex-crimes legislation — which has been simplistically translated by homosexual activists as the “Kill the Gays” bill. Lively follows American Family Association founder Don Wildmon and Ken Hutcherson, pastor of Antioch Bible Church and pro-traditional marriage advocate, as a recipient of the AFTAH “American Truth Teller” award.

GLN has denied involvement in the attack on Christian Liberty Academy — which is being investigated by Arlington Heights police. The Chicago Tribune reports that the case is not being treated as a “hate crime.” AFTAH, like most conservative Christian groups, opposes “hate crimes” laws — but questions why the attack on CLA is not categorized as a “hate crime” when it appears the victims (including the Christian Liberty Academy), have been targeted based on their religious beliefs about homosexuality. Both the Illinois and federal “hate crimes” laws consider religion and “sexual orientation” a protected category. Attacks targeting homosexual persons are routinely investigated as “hate crimes” from the outset.

In the wake of the violent attack on the Christian school, homosexual militants immediately sought to cast doubt on the assault –  by claiming that it was likely the work of Americans For Truth About Homoseuxuality. Homosexual blogger Joe Jervis of the “Joe.My.God” blog took the lead, immediately charging on his Twitter account that LaBarbera had staged a fake “hate crime” as a publicity stunt leading up to the AFTAH banquet. Jervis has accused other pro-family groups with staging attacks against themselves. Other “gay” advocates denounced the attack on CLA and said it would only hinder the homosexual activist movement.

On the Chicago Independendent Media Center website containing the attacker’s statement taking credit for the crime, Jervis desperately posted this comment:

Does anybody know the person supposedly behind this post? This is an open and unmoderated site from what I can see. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to learn that LaBarbera and his foul cohorts staged this entire thing.

Lively recalls fake “gay” hate crime

Ironically, at both his talks for Americans For Truth, Lively recounted the amazing story from the early 1990′s of an infamous PRO-homosexual ”hate crime” hoax staged by a lesbian, Azalea Cooley – to fight a conservative statewide ballot measure known as ”Measure Nine,” which would have made it unconstitutional for the state to promote homosexuality. Lively served as statewide  media director for Oregon Citizen’s Alliance (OCA), a Christian group that sponsored Measure Nine, and recalled how Cooley, a black, supposedly wheelchair-bound lesbian, claimed 21 cross-burnings in her front yard after the campaign for Measure Nine was launched.

In the final days of the campaign, after the perpetrators of this series of “hate crime” were never caught, two rogue policemen decided to investigate for themelves; as they staked out Cooley’s home one night, they watched as she came out walking into her front yard holding a can of gasoline, and lit a cross on fire. According to Lively, strategically-placed homosexual activists within Oregon’s law enforcement agencies — including “gay” relatives of powerful officials — likely helped derail the proper investigation of Cooley’s antics.

But, as Lively told the AFTAH audiences Friday and Saturday, “it gets better.” The astounding fraud should have received saturation media coverage across the state, but instead was covered seriously only in Cooley’s hometown of Portland. To end the campaign, Measure Nine’s opponents held a massive “March Against Hate” ending in Portland — the final mobilization against the “evil” OCA ballot meaure. And who was heading up the march as a symbol of the progressive struggle against Religious Right “hate”? … Azalea Cooley, riding in her wheelchair.

Many Christians are only now awakening to the seriousness of the threat to our society posed by the homosexual movement. But, unfortunately for us all, it is only the sounding of the victory trumpets by “gay” activists that has stirred Christians from their slumber. The watchman’s walls have been broken and breached, the village is in flames, and triumphal “gay” culture warriors are leading a long string of young prisoners by their necks into the woods. Most disturbingly, many of the captives, including some of the children of these still sleepy-eyed Christian parents, seem happy to go.

I have long warned that the homosexual agenda is not about tolerance but control. It started, of course, with a plea for tolerance, but then immediately shifted to a demand for acceptance and in due time to celebration of all things “gay.”

It wasn’t enough, however, for prominent public officials in every major city to lead the “Gay Pride” parades. No, the agenda continued to unfold to another level, requiring forced participation in “gay” culture. Much of the country is on that cusp of celebration/coercion today, led by California with it’s new aggressive K-12 homosexual advocacy curriculum, mandated by law.

Even conservative Texas is not immune. Just this week Fox News covered the story of a ninth grader suspended from school for telling a classmate he believes homosexuality is wrong.

The outraged teacher who demanded punishment for the boy reportedly keeps a picture on the classroom wall of two men kissing and frequently steers classroom discussions to the homosexual issue.

It took the intervention of a Christian public-interest law firm to get the school to rescind the suspension. But how many students of this same teacher have over the years simply assimilated his values as normal, their parents none the wiser?

More importantly, how many other classrooms across America are headed by such men and women? Their activist network, the Gay Lesbian Straight Teachers Network (GLSTN – later changed to “education network” GLSEN to hide the teacher/activist association) was powerful enough to launch its founder Kevin Jennings to the position of Obama White House “safe schools” czar for a time. I’d guess their agenda is an influence in just about every classroom by now.

I’m old enough to remember the debate about whether homosexuals should be allowed to be teachers at all, let alone allowed to punish students for disagreeing with the class-time advocacy of their sexual lifestyle. I remember the protestations from the pro-homosexual side, that “gays and lesbians just want the right to be left alone. They would NEVER interject their private lives into the classroom.” They all lied, and we believed them, and now our children and grandchildren are being forced to celebrate “gay” culture under penalty of law.

That is the end game for the “gays.” The final stage of their agenda, which has always been about taking control of things, is the power to punish dissent: to silence or crush their detractors. They only have this level of control in a few places yet, but they are moving fast to achieve it everywhere, and the momentum is on their side. And wherever they have it, they use it.

This brings me, in conclusion, to the subject of “gay marriage.” Huh? How does “gay marriage” in any way relate to homosexual propaganda in schools? Or to Christian parents awakening late to the indoctrination of their children?

It is the same issue, my friends. “Gay marriage,” “gay” curriculum, “gay” parades, “gay” TV shows, “gay” soldiers, “gay” adoption, “gay” diseases, “gay” recruitment and on and on. So many seemingly separate issues that are really just one issue: the unnatural, dysfunctional, personally and socially destructive phenomenon of homosexual sin. We are warned clearly and emphatically about it in the Bible. We have seen its corrupting effect in history. And we are literally watching its ethic of sexual anarchy supplant the biblical model of family as the guiding value system of our society.

I’m not going to add here how much I really love homosexuals and just hate their sin. As a question of public policy it really shouldn’t matter what I think about the perpetrators, just whether I am telling the truth about their agenda. I don’t want to reinforce the ridiculous assumption that Christians need to offer a disclaimer to prove they aren’t haters. It wouldn’t mitigate their hostility toward me for saying it anyhow. Trust me.

I’m not saying here that Christians are without hope of overcoming the challenge before us. Nothing, after all, is impossible with God. What I am saying is that we cannot possibly win, especially at this late stage of the game, if our “heroes” continue to fiddle about with the “definition of marriage” and fall all over themselves trying to prove they’re not haters by endorsing other, non-marriage-related bits of the “gay” agenda.

We need to stand firmly and unapologetically on the hard truth that homosexuality is not a benign, morally neutral social phenomenon. It is an insidious and contagious form of sexual perversion condemned by God as an abomination. I cringe even writing these words because I know the wrath I am inviting on myself. Still, someone needs to say this boldly and publicly because it is the truth, and only the truth can set us free of the political correctness that has imprisoned us until now.

The homosexual agenda represents an existential threat to Christian civilization and we’re in the final phase of the war, losing badly. It all hinges upon you, Christian reader. Either get into the “game” in earnest, immediately, or wave goodbye.

Over the years I’ve interviewed or met many former homosexual men and ex-lesbians, but never an ex-transgender. Walt Heyer is one such man: with Christ’s help he walked away from the ”transgender” lifestyle (gender confusion). Folks, it sure didn’t take long for the liberal media to go into Christian-bashing mode against GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.). Watch this almost comically biased hit-piece by ABC’s Brian Ross — featuring the militantly anti-Christian homosexual organization Truth Wins Out. (TWO denies the reality that people can leave homosexuality behind; I call them “Focus on the Failures” because their nonsensical argument seems to be that since many practicing “gays” fail in their quest to change, transformation away from homosexuality is a myth.)

Incredibly, ABC even went so far as to title its piece “Pray Away the Gay at Bachmann Clinic?” — recycling TWO founder Wayne Besen’s mocking and bigoted attack-slogan for the idea that people can overcome homosexual desires through faith in God. Shouldn’t it have occurred to Ross to sit down with and interview a SUCCESSFUL former homosexual like Janet Boynes, who:

1. lives near Minneapolis, where the Bachmanns’ counseling clinic is located;
2. was mentioned in the story — the undercover TWO “investigative reporter” ominously cites a copy of Janet’s book, “Called Out,” endorsed by Dr. Bachmann;
3. is a happy FORMER lesbian who endeavors to help others out of homosexuality, and who credits God for the power to change?  

We confirmed that no ABC reporter contacted Boynes for their story on the Backmann clinic. I don’t have much hope of changing ABC [but you can contact them HERE]; they and most of the secular “mainstream” media are for all practical purposes a part of Gay Inc. at this point. But let’s use this unfair hit-piece to highlight the truth: that people like Janet Boynes and Linda Jernigan — who once thought they were “gay” — can and do leave homosexuality behind, often through the “Amazing Grace” of Jesus Christ. — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

Media Guns Fire Blanks at Bachmann

Once a greatly feared investigative reporter, Brian Ross has been reduced to recycling left-wing material from the homosexual lobby. But the pathetic hit job he narrated on Monday’s ABC Nightline show on GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has backfired in a big way. The charge was that the Bachmann family counseling service engages in terrible things by teaching homosexuals how to leave their disease-ridden lifestyle.

Ross called this method of counseling, which emphasizes religious conversion, “highly controversial” and said it “could become a campaign issue.” Ironically, however, he presented evidence that ex-homosexuals do in fact exist

It is a sign of the dominance of the homosexual lobby in the media business that such a program would even be aired. The upcoming National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association convention features “Today” show co-anchor Ann Curry and CNN’s Don Lemon as keynote speakers.

The ABC piece, “Michele Bachmann Clinic: Where You Can Pray Away the Gay?,” was constructed in such a way as to suggest that ex-homosexuals are non-existent, even though the Brian Ross report itself noted the presence of books by a “self-proclaimed ex-lesbian” in the counseling center. A video from the ex-lesbian, Janet Boynes, was even shown briefly on the air. This was supposed to be shocking.

Of course, the notion of the Bible condemning homosexual behavior, reflected in several passages, was viewed as bizarre and intolerant.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth says the phrase, “pray away the gay,” is intended to ridicule Christians and comes directly from homosexual activist Wayne Besen’s group, Truth Wins Out. LaBarbera asks, “Why are the major media repeating these hateful attack slogans by radical gay activists?”

He explains, “We don’t mock the idea of leaving drug addiction or alcoholism with God’s help. Why is it acceptable to mock faith in God to overcome unwanted behaviors like homosexuality in their lives?”

“Wayne Besen’s thesis is that ex-gays don’t exist,” noted LaBarbera. But Janet Boynes is a real person and absolute proof that one can leave the homosexual lifestyle.

Perhaps without realizing it, Ross has presented evidence of the homosexual “change” that he was trying to discredit.

“The homosexual lobby simply can’t deal with the reality that ‘gays’ can change (usually with God’s help),” LaBarbera adds. His group recently hosted an event with another ex-lesbian, Linda Jernigan.

To make matters worse, the ABC hit piece was largely recycled leftist material. Ross borrowed heavily from Truth Wins Out (TWO) and an article in The Nation magazine, in order to concoct the shaky story.

Since the segment was light on anything truly horrifying, he used film footage from a Truth Wins Out operative who had secretly taped a counselor for the Bachmann service. This had the effect of making everything look sinister. The apparently shocking advice to the undercover homosexual operative was that heterosexuality is natural and homosexuality is not. This is what passes for “investigative journalism” these days.

“ABC’s Brian Ross did a terrific job with this Nightline segment…” declared TWO executive director Wayne Besen.

As such, Ross can expect to be nominated for an award from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), which honors pro-homosexual coverage.

The Brian Ross hit piece follows an attack on the popular Congresswoman by Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone magazine,”Michele Bachmann’s Holy War,” where he smeared Bachmann as “a religious zealot whose brain is a raging electrical storm of divine visions and paranoid delusions.”

Blogger Trevor Loudon disclosed that Taibbi was the recipient of an award from the Democratic Socialists of America in Boston for his hard-left reporting.

Loudon commented, “Maybe Matt Taibbi should tell us about his own true beliefs. I’m betting he is not as open about his own convictions as Michele Bachmann is about hers.”

Note: it is outrageous that the State of lllinois would even consider FORCING religious adoption agencies (or irreligious agencies, for that matter) to place children in homes that are motherless or fatherless by design. Adults (proudly) practicing homosexuality are not good role models for impressionable children, who need a mom and a dad. (No, the sexes are not  interchangeable.) The new Illinois “Civil Unions” law — rammed through Springfield in a lame-duck session — must be repealed to preserve religious liberty in the Land of Lincoln. ”Exemptions” — even if they are strengthened – won’t preserve freedom.

In the meantime, a new movement has been launched to place an Advisory Referendum on “same-sex marriage” (and “civil unions”) on the Illinois ballot in 2012. Almost 300,000 signatures of Illinos voters must be gathered and turned into the Illlinois Board of Elections by April 2012 to make that happen. Catholic Leaders Take Legal Action Over Risk of Losing Foster Care Services

Catholic Charities in Illinois Seek Remedy for Best Interests of Children, Families

(SPRINGFIELD, IL) Leaders of three Catholic dioceses – the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, Peoria and Joliet – took legal action today as their charities fight to continue their work in serving the best interests of thousands of needy children and families throughout the state.

In March of this year, the Attorney General’s office issued a letter stating that the office “received notice that Catholic Charities … discriminates against Illinois citizens based on race, marital status and sexual orientation” in the provision of foster care and adoption services and demanded that Catholic Charities turn over a wide range of documents in response. The June 1 law authorizing civil unions in Illinois has raised further questions and criticism about Catholic Charities’ longstanding position not to place children for adoption and foster care with non-married couples who live together – regardless of sexual orientation.

This lawsuit, filed in Sangamon County Circuit Court, seeks a declaration that the charities are in full compliance with Illinois law in their current practices and an injunction against further action by Illinois government officials to the contrary. The charities argue both that the Illinois Human Rights Act exempts religious adoption agencies from the provisions relied upon by the Attorney General’s office and that the new Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act includes an express protection for the religious freedom of entities like Catholic Charities.

The charities ask the court to declare that they are legally justified to continue their current practices of working only with married couples and single, non-cohabiting individuals. Civil union couples are free to choose among dozens of other organizations for these services.

“Child welfare advocates know it is in the best interest of Illinois children for Catholic Charities to stay in this business,” said Steven Roach, Executive Director for Catholic Charities in the Springfield Diocese. “It’s tragic that there are people who believe unnecessarily disrupting the lives of thousands of vulnerable children is an acceptable outcome in this situation.”

Catholic Charities have served thousands of children and families with top-quality, nurturing care since 1921 and handle about 20 percent of the cases in Illinois. Charities’ leaders are extremely concerned what will happen with those children and families if they are forced out of this work.

“Religious and faith-based entities need not check their beliefs at the door when providing vital social services for the benefit of needy and vulnerable children and families in Illinois. Catholic Charities has a clear right under Illinois law to pursue its charitable good works in the true spirit of the Gospels and the Sermon on the Mount, faithful to the essential tenets of its Catholic faith. We will advocate strongly to protect Catholic Charities’ continuing its mission of social service,” said Tom Brejcha of the Thomas More Society, which is representing the charities in the lawsuit.

CHICAGO–Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality and a principal behind the Illinois Defense of Marriage Initiative (www.DefendMarriageIL.org), issued the following statement on the new Illinois “Civil Unions” law that takes effect today:

Homosexual behavior is always wrong, according to the broad sweep of Judeo-Christian history, so it is tragic to behold the State of Illinois – or any government entity – recognizing immoral same-sex relationships and treating them like marriage. Moreover, for the City of Chicago and Gov. Pat Quinn to celebrate homosexuality with a mass Civil Union ceremony June 2^nd is an act of hubris and defiance toward the Creator that mocks His wonderful plan for real marriage – the sacred union of a man and a woman to produce children and family. The pandering Quinn – epitomizing the modern Democratic politician –mocks his own professed Catholicism by working tirelessly to undermine its clear moral dictates.

The anti-Christian Civil Unions law must be repealed. It was passed in a lame-duck session that once again revealed the contempt that liberal Illinois lawmakers have for the citizens they are supposed to serve. Ironically, shortly after passage of this bill – mischievously titled the Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Unions Act –religious liberty for Illinois citizens and religious institutions was immediately put in jeopardy. A homosexual male couple targeted Paxton, Illinois, bed-and-breakfast owners Jim and Beth Walder – who now face prosecution by the State because they refuse – as Christians – to hold “civil union” ceremonies celebrating homosexuality on their own business property. And the Rockford Diocese’s Catholic Charities announced that it will halt its state-funded foster care and adoption services rather than be forced by the State of Illinois to place children in same-sex households that are motherless or fatherless by design.

These sad developments in the Land of Lincoln constitute further proof that homosexuality-based “rights” and religious freedom cannot co-exist. “Gay” activism – empowered by Illinois’ “sexual orientation” law and the new Civil Unions law — will drive out the free expression of religion and morality, which must include the right to oppose sexual behavior historically regarded as disordered and sinful. Already, there are “conservative, pro-family” defeatists who argue that the radical Civil Unions bill cannot be repealed. It’s funny how “gay” activists never display such timidity. The well-financed Homosexual Lobby sees “Civil Unions” as a mere pathway to full, legalized “same-sex marriage.” We must work diligently to repeal this anti-Christian law, while also collecting 300,000 signatures to put a referendum on “same-sex marriage” on the Illinois ballot in 2012. Also, we will continue to push for House Speaker Mike Madigan to stop blocking a vote on a binding constitutional marriage amendment that will permanently prevent the radical redefinition of marriage in our state.

Dr. Michael Brown, author of "A Queer Thing Happened to America," says true biblical love cannot bury the truth that homosexual behavior and relationships are sinful.

When asked about controversial pro-”gay” Grove City College professor Warren Throckmorton and others who support “civil unions” and pro-homosexual “sexual orientation” laws as an alleged outworking of Christian compassion, Brown says faithful Christians cannot support the idea of legal ”civil rights” based on sinful behavior.  He assails the non-biblical approach of “Love Is An Orientation” author Andrew Marin, a liberal Chicago evangelical living in Boystown who seems reluctant to affirm clear Scriptural teachings that homosexual behavior is always sinful. Brown also prays for “Chaz” Bono, the daughter (Chastity) of Sonny and Cher who has gained immense sympathetic media attention surrounding her tragic quest to become a “man.”

I’m reading Denise Jones’ book, “Who Said it Couldn’t Be Done? A Diamond from the Rough.” It is a shockingly honest yet faith-building story of godly transformation, told by a woman who shouldn’t even be alive, so hellish was her past. This is one of those amazing life stories that deserves to be made into a movie, so let’s hope and pray that perhaps a Christian filmmaker — or someone in Hollywood who believes in real diversity — will take that up as a project (over the sure protests of the intolerant folk at GLAAD, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation).
