This discussion was pre-taped in early April and aired April 21, 2012. A broad coalition of pro-family groups recommends that students stay away from school on Friday, April 20, 2012, the national “Day of Silence,” if the school is officially recognizing and/or allowing students and teachers to observe this event during instructional time by a silent protest. High schools and even some middle schools are now the targets of this event.

The Day of Silence is supposedly led by students, but actually led by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), which describes itself as “championing LGBT issues in K-12 education since 1990.” Did you catch that– “K through 12”? Younger and younger students are the target of this group. The younger, the better because they are easier to manipulate.

The Day of Silence goal is not, as I am told frequently by outraged emails from misinformed students, to help end all bullying. The goal is to exploit the tender sympathies of kids to promote approval of homosexuality and gender confusion. The agenda is everything; Judeo-Christian morality is the enemy; and sadly, kids are the tools.

GLSEN teaches students that homosexuals and gender-confused people are “silenced” and under persecution by those who object to this behavior, and that traditional moral beliefs cause bullying. No hard, objective data exists to support this contention, and the event itself causes hostility, confusion, and division.

Here are ten reasons I believe Christian students in particular should refuse to honor this event by school attendance and why Christian teachers should plan activities that require students to verbally participate:

1. A silent protest in support of immoral, God-dishonoring behavior is in itself profoundly deceptive. All sexual behavior outside man/woman marriage is sinful in God’s eyes. Why should Christian students and teachers be in the position of accommodating this flagrant violation of their principles? Teachers would not want polyamorous students to be bullied, but would schools permit students to participate in a classroom protest in support of polyamory?

2. Any explicit or implicit message encouraging teens and even younger students to view homosexual acts as normative or moral is not “social justice” or “tolerance,” but, in reality, child corruption.

3. Allowing classroom silence to honor the Day of Silence unleashes tremendous peer pressure for students and even teachers to endorse sexual immorality, or be considered “enemies” of those peers and teachers proudly involved in homosexuality. This puts people of faith in the position of violating Christian doctrine through tacit approval (Romans 16:17-18; Ephesians 5:11). They are also intimidated into self-censorship, which undermines both fundamental First Amendment and educational principles.

4. The Day of Silence fosters hostile and bigoted attitudes toward Christians and others with traditional moral beliefs; spreads inaccurate and harmful information; and promotes unproven, non-factual Leftist moral beliefs as objective truths.

5. Using legitimate concerns about bullying and teen suicide to promote approval of homosexuality in schools is educational malpractice. It’s totally unnecessary to stop bullying and prevent harm to students, and Christians should not be a party to this gross distortion of a genuine problem. No one needs to affirm homosexuality or gender-confusion in order to prevent bullying, but GLSEN routinely takes this deceitful position.

6. Teachers know real bullying when they see it, and most teachers address it. But GLSEN and the Day of Silence pressure teachers not merely to address bullying behavior but to affirm Leftist moral and political beliefs. Since when did it become the job of government employees to become public relations agents for Leftist moral propositions or the good reputation of homosexuality?  Stopping bullying can be accomplished without becoming champions of the non-factual assumptions of the homosexuality-affirming movement.

7. There are legitimate lessons students should learn about prejudice and bias. But Day of Silence promoters deceptively link moral objections about homosexuality to racial discrimination or anti-Semitism in an attempt to legitimize the pro-homosexual ideology and portray homosexuals as perennial victims, while censoring through social pressure all dissenting views.

8. Teachers have used the DOS to inappropriately become classroom advocates and models of this deviant behavior. In one Ohio school, a teacher used a Power Point presentation to tell students about her “gay” support and even disclosed to students that she was a lesbian, without prior parental notification or permission from her principal.

9. The health and lifestyle risks of homosexuality are virtually never shared on the Day of Silence. Instead, students are given the deceitful impression that homosexuality is just as safe and worthy an identity as heterosexual dating and marriage. The notion that same-sex attraction and volitional acts constitute an identity worthy of affirmation is not a fact, and government employees have no right, either explicitly or implicitly, to promote it to other people’s children.

10. The DOS message inhibits Christians from witnessing to their peers caught up in homosexuality or gender confusion. There is salvation through Jesus Christ and the hope of leaving this sin behind. Calling homosexuality a sin on the Day of Silence would be considered “hateful,” when it is actually God-honoring and respectful to the hearer. It may lead them to an eternal home with God. But that won’t happen if the truth is suppressed, which it always is on the Day of Silence. Parents, keep your children home that day. If your children have the courage to witness, they can do it on another day when perhaps they will have a fair chance of being heard.

RALEIGH, NC – University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill paid $18,5000 to homosexual activist Dan Savage – creator of a vile hate-site “re-defining” Rick Santorum’s last name as the by-product of anal sex – as a guest speaker, just weeks before publicly disassociating from Rush Limbaugh over Rush’s “offensive statements” about Sandra Fluke.

Last week, UNC-Chapel Hill announced that it was banning a local “Rush Radio” station, WRDU, from mentioning Limbaugh’s show during broadcasts of Tar Heel basketball and football games. The university, citing Rush’s “rude, inappropriate and offensive statements” about Fluke, also prohibits WRDU from referencing UNC or the Tar Heel Sports Network during Limbaugh’s daily talk show.

Americans For Truth has written UNC-Chapel Hill officials to ask how they can justify paying a large sum to Savage, who once wished death on all Republicans and who regularly and crudely demonizes religious conservatives. AFTAH also asked UNC to repudiate Savage for his “offensive statements,” and invite a pro-family speaker to campus specifically to balance his appearance.

The following typifies Savage’s unique brand of conservative-Christian-bashing hate:

• Savage said on HBO that he “wished [Republicans] were all [f—king] dead” (he later apologized).
• Savage’s creation “Santorum[dot] com” (and “SpreadingSantorum[dot]com”) “re-define” Santorum’s surname as follows: “San-TOR-um, n. The frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex.”
• In contrast to Limbaugh, who quickly apologized for his remarks about Fluke, when AFTAH’s President Peter LaBarbera asked Savage to take down “Santorum[dot]com,” he responded : “I’m asking Peter LaBarbera to go [f- -k] himself.”
• Savage mocked the pope as “the dope in Rome”;
• So consumed was Savage with hatred for then-GOP presidential candidate Gary Bauer that he traveled to Iowa to pose as a Bauer volunteer, then got sick himself and began licking campaign office doorknobs, staplers, etc., in an attempt to give Bauer a cold.

AFTAH also condemns Savage, a raunchy sex columnist, for his reckless sexual advice, which includes urging married couples to allow outside sex. AFTAH urges MTV to cancel “Savage U,” a new TV show debuting April 3, featuring Savage visiting college campuses — so as not to reward him for his cyber-bullying against Santorum and history of hateful acts against Christian conservatives.

Also, there is a new wrinkle to this story.  As you can read below, UNC Chapel Hill has just issued a statement disconnecting itself from theRush Limbaugh in response to offensive comments Rush made about Sandra Fluke (for which he quickly apologized).  Yet UNC paid $18,500 to Dan Savage, who once said, “I wish [Republicans] were all [f---king] dead.” [Watch it HERE.]  Isn’t it fascinating how the entire Left and many in the media are up in arms over Rush yet strangely silent about the vitriol and viciousness emanating from the Left?

AFTAH is educating UNC officials about Savage’s “rude, inappropriate and offensive” statements — which include his notorious creation, “Santorum[dot]com,” which “re-defines” Rick Santorum’s surname as follows:

Radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh recently made rude, inappropriate and offensive statements. And we at Carolina found ourselves unfortunately and awkwardly connected to Limbaugh.

Limbaugh’s show airs locally on a station that also broadcasts UNC basketball and football games. That connection spurred many people to email us and prompted a petition campaign, both with the goal of urging us to drop our broadcasts from the station.

As background, Carolina Athletics has a contract with Tar Heel Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports. Learfield owns and operates the Tar Heel Sports Radio Network as an independent contractor of the University. The radio network includes over 50 affiliates, and that network enables people in almost all of North Carolina to listen to the live broadcasts of our football and basketball games. That’s our goal … for Carolina fans to be able hear our games.

We have not affiliated with or endorsed Rush Limbaugh or any other radio personality or politician. We have asked – and the local station has agreed – to end the practice of referencing the Tar Heel Sports Network or the University’s name while promoting the Limbaugh program and vice versa.

Beyond that, the University does not plan to take any additional action at this time.

Author Amy Contrada has documented Mitt Romney’s pro-”gay” record in Massachusetts. Gov. Romney was called “the missing governor” due to his inaction against the Massachusetts high court’s imposition of homosexual “marriage” on the state.

Linda Harvey has been viciously slandered by homosexual activists for taking a leading role in exposing the Homosexual Lobby and especially its corruption of American youth.

Folks, my good friend Linda Harvey’s organization, Mission America, has recently been added to the (bogus) list of “hate groups” created by the leftist, pro-homosexuality scam-artists over at Southern Poverty Law Center (welcome to the club, Linda!). Translation: Linda is an effective truth-teller and principled opponent of the homosexual activist lobby. She and her husband, Tom, are wonderful Christians who use their many talents to selflessly serve the Lord, and as such are models for citizen action. What’s Wrong with “Gay” Pride?

June used to be a month for weddings, graduations, Father’s Day and the beginning of summer. Unfortunately in recent years, it is also a time when all over the nation, many cities sponsor homosexual “pride” events. But I think these events are a time for shame and sorrow, not pride.

Columbus will hold a gay pride parade on Saturday, June 18^th, Cleveland’s will be Saturday, June 25^th, and Cincinnati’s is on July 10. Dayton already held a parade on June 4^th.

For the third year in a row, our President issued an official White House Proclamation declaring June  “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender” Pride Month.

In this proclamation, Obama said, quote:

Each June, we commemorate…courageous individuals …and we rededicate ourselves to the pursuit of equal rights for all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Unquote.

Of course, this statement doesn’t express the actual truth. All Americans have equal rights now. What the goal of homosexuals is to force acceptance of this behavior on all Americans. These are special rights based on sin and there’s nothing courageous about it.

Among his accomplishments, Obama mentioned the repeal of the military ban on homosexuality. He even said that national security would be “strengthened” as a result. He also cited his many executive orders granting new rights to homosexuals.

Then he mentioned his priority on youth. He said:

Many senior Administration officials have also joined me in reaching out to LGBT youth who have been bullied by recording “It Gets Better” video messages to assure them they are not alone.

“It Gets Better” is a video campaign organized by homosexual activist Dan Savage. [Editor's Note: see AFTAH press release HERE calling on Savage to take down his disgusting web creation, "Santorum.com."] It has garnered the support of leftist politicians, including Obama, as well as some celebrities, to record messages for kids with the goal of encouragement. That would be a worthy goal if that is where it ended, Unfortunately it is not, and unfortunately, Dan Savage is hardly the kind of person one would think the president would align himself with.

“It Gets Better” features encouraging words to kids but also includes endorsement of homosexuality, and implies that objections to homosexuality are the same as any bullying they may be experiencing. And Dan Savage is hardly the person to talk about bullying.

First of all, Dan Savage writes a very explicit sex advice column, but then he also has been outrageously vicious to Christian conservatives, including Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America, and Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth. Both have objected to his work, his anti-Christian vitriol and his lifestyle. Savage, who has a homosexual partner in a same sex “marriage” (not really, but that’s what he believes), has bragged publicly about having group sex that includes this partner. And– these two recently adopted a little boy.

Penny Nance objected to the broadcast of “It Gets Better” on a recent “American Idol” show, especially with her fourth-grade son watching.  Nance wrote about her concerns, and Dan Savage responded with a string of insults, calling her personally vulgar terms and concluded by expressing a hope that her little son might turn out to be a homosexual.

These are not attitudes nor behaviors to be “proud” of, friends. This is darkness. This is bullying. What can we do? Go to a “gay” pride parade and express your concern in a civil way.  We must keep our heads, speak out, and pray for these lost people, even as great evil is occurring, even at the highest levels in our land.

3-3-12, Amy Contrada, Part One

1. Former “Gays”…That there are lots of happy EX-homosexual men (like DL Foster); EX-lesbians (like Linda Jernigan and Yvette Schneider); and even EX-transsexuals (like Walt Heyer) who have overcome sexual/gender confusion and troubled circumstances in their own lives — usually through a relationship with Jesus Christ; and 
2. Unhealthy Behavior….The multiple health risks associated with homosexual behavior — which occur at vastly disproportionate rates relative to the rest of society.  Naturally, practicing perversion is harmful to one’s body (and soul).

Of course, the medical transcriptionist story deals with #2.  I was contacted by a medical transcriptionist, who couldn’t help but take notice of the many maladies contracted by male homosexual patients, whose records she was typing.  Keep in mind that young people are RARELY IF EVER taught or told about the massive health risks associated with homosexual behavior — e.g., the CDC’s report that61 percent of all new HIV cases involve “men who have sex with men.”

Hard Truths: Homosexuality-related diseases and dangers is not an easy subject to discuss, but discuss it we must. (Note the obvious connection between Epididymitis and homo-sexually deviant acts in the AFTAH article.)  One of the reasons that the “gay” side currently has all the momentum is that conservatives have not done a good job of telling the HARD TRUTHS about homosexuality.  (Of course, many people are intimidated and simply afraid to criticize “gayness” or the radical homosexual agenda at all due to Political Correctness.)

In my 20-plus years typing acute care medical records, at times I have almost ceased to be shocked at what I see. At other times, I continue to be shocked. For those who don’t know what a medical transcriptionist does: Every patient who is admitted to a hospital, seen in an emergency department, or seen by a doctor in a clinic, has a medical chart with the summary of each visit dictated by a physician and transcribed by a medical transcriptionist.

The hospital records consist of documentation which includes a history and physical examination summarizing the patient’s chief complaint, history of the present illness, past medical history, family history, social history, review of systems (what the patient has complaints about throughout their whole body from head to toe not necessarily related to the chief complaint), physical examination (what the doctor’s own findings are on a head to toe exam),  laboratory work; the doctor’s impression or diagnosis that he/she determines from the data gathered and his/her plan or recommendation.

Similarly, there are consultations, operative reports (transcription of the surgical procedure), discharge summaries describing the patient’s hospital course and condition on discharge, psychiatric reports, emergency department reports, radiology reports and a myriad of diagnostic and lab procedures that are transcribed. With that history, you can imagine what truths medical transcriptionists are exposed to.

What disturbs me most is the extreme disconnect between what you hear and see in media and in movies, and what children are taught in schools, and what real-life, indisputable medical reports prove.  For purposes of this article, we’ll deal with the horrifying physical and emotional maladies and domestic abuse that takes place amongst practicing homosexuals. These patients are seen in all aspects of hospital care including emergency rooms, mental health units, rehabilitation (Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy[PT/OT]) units, surgery and clinics.

Because of privacy issues, I cannot cite the specific contents of the actual medical reports I have transcribed – but the following are some general examples of what they reveal [Editor’s note: AFTAH has added web links giving further information about these maladies]:

• Gay-on-Gay Assaults are at the hands of their same-sex domestic partners (not “hate crimes”) and are repetitive. (Reading details of the beatings is highly disturbing.);
• Besides the many patients with HIV/AIDS, extremely common conditions are patients with penile lesions, testicle swelling and epididymitis*, anal warts, anal lesions, anal tearing, anal scarring, perirectal fistulas, external hemorrhoids with recurrent bleeding and anal abscesses, requiring surgeries such as colectomy, colostomy and colorectal surgery.
• Some have rectal cancer (anal cancer). [See Cancer.org; UCSF;
• Many have substance abuse problems and the resultant psychiatric disorders, depression, suicidality.
• Anal Laxity: From my work I have learned that repeated sodomy (or anal sex) results in a condition called anal laxity (looseness) that requires surgery or a colostomy bag in order for the bowels to function properly.

When I learn of these types of conditions while typing reports of young and otherwise healthy teenaged patients, it is especially heartbreaking.

The questions that continue to run through my mind each time I type one of these situations arising from homosexuality are: “How can this be an act of love between two people?” and “Why are those who speak out against this damaging behavior vilified as intolerant haters?” — and my unanswered question is: “What type of person does this to another person?”

*Epididymitis is inflammation of the tube behind the testicles that carries sperm and is most often caused by a bacterial infection or by a sexually transmitted disease such as gonorrhea or Chlamydia. The following is from the Palm Springs Gay Men’s Health website:

Epididymitis is an infection of the epididymis, the coiled mass of tubes over the testicles where sperm mature before being ejaculated through the urethra. It can come from various infections of the prostate or urethra and so is often sexually transmitted. Epididymitis affects gay men at a much higher rate than straight men most likely because of increased incidence of STDs that affect the urethra as well as unprotected anal sex among many gay men. Feces in the anal canal are the source of E. coli (Escherichia coli) bacteria that can also cause epididymitis.

Transsexuals Need Christ, NOT “Sex Change” Surgery

Recently I had the pleasure of doing an in-depth, four-part radio interview with Walt Heyer, a Christian man and FORMER transsexual who once lived as a “woman” named “Laura” (see before-and-after photos above).  Walt had the Gender Reassignment Surgery – yes, the one that makes men wince at the mere thought of it.  (It is frequently called a “sex-change” operation even though, as Walt stresses, a person cannot change their biological sex.)

Walt discovered too late that finally “becoming Laura,” as it were, through a body-disfiguring operation didn’t solve his severe “gender” problem.  But thank God he ultimately DID find healing through the grace of the Lord — who labored through faithful and loving Christians who stood by Walt and helped restore him to the man he was created to be.  Now Walt has dedicated the rest of his life to helping others avoid this awful surgery and the “sex-change regret” that he had; instead, he directs them to the healthy CHANGE available through Jesus Christ.

The Homosexual-Pedophile Connection

Then, in the biggest story AFTAH ever broke, Lambda Report exposed that a U.S.-funded United Nations agency harbored the International Lesbian and Gay Association, which included NAMBLA and other pro-pedophile groups as members.  I debated homosexual pedophile activist Bill Andriette (who conveniently worked for a popular “gay” travel magazine) on CNN’s “Larry King Live.”  Our story led to legislation sponsored by the late, great Sen. Jesse Helms (R-NC) and passed by the United States Senate cutting $119 million in UN funds and stipulating that no U.S. monies could go to any agency with links to pedophile groups.  The bill was signed into law by President Clinton in 1994 and remains on the books today.

Thanks to Americans For Truth, it’s much more difficult for pedophiles to gain a foothold at the United Nations.

Skip forward 17 years.  Since I first began writing about the “tolerance” that some homosexual activists have for man-child sex (“intergenerational relationships”), the pederasty problem has only gotten worse.  Recently I was stunned to examine the “B4U-Act” pro-pedophile website for the first time.  These corrupt academicians want to recast pedophiles as “Minor-Attracted Persons” (MAPs) and duplicate the successful “gay” strategy of creating sympathy for the poor, reviled “MAPs” who are “discriminated” against because of their “sexual orientation.”

Who could make this stuff up?  As I wrote in a previous e-mail, this is like NAMBLA with a PhD and a marketing plan.  And parents, know this: they’re very serious.

What is AFTAH’s response: shine the light of truth on these organized perverts who lust after children. These days, it seems almost everyone is “going gay” in some way or another by abandoning the historic biblical ethic on this sin issue by caving in to homosexualist pressure.  Even conservative icon Ann Coulter joined the Advisory Board of GOProud, a “gay” Republican group, and she inexplicably gave the “Queer” Lobby a pass in her new book “Demonic.”  (It’s a curious omission: what’s more ‘demonic’ than the rise of homosexuality in just 60 years from an anti-social sex taboo and mental disorder to a powerful special interest lobby that dominates Hollywood, the media and increasingly the rest of society – and which threatens to negate our religious liberties?! )

Matt Barber

Over the years I’ve interviewed or met many former homosexual men and ex-lesbians, but never an ex-transgender. Walt Heyer is one such man: with Christ’s help he walked away from the ”transgender” lifestyle (gender confusion). What’s worse than asking ninth-graders intrusive and sexually explicit questions on a school survey, even if they do live in a liberal district?

It’s discovering misbehavior, coming to exactly the wrong conclusion about the causes and recommending more harm be done.

A new report published by the Centers for Disease Control shows that teenagers in public schools who believe themselves to be homosexual or bisexual are taking more risks all across the board. While this should not come as a big surprise to the average American with common sense, it is a stunning revelation to our psychobabbly federal public health professionals. After all, they can’t even bring themselves to say “Stop it!” to men who have anal sex with other men.

The National Youth Risk Behavior Surveys are given to high schoolers, and the Centers for Disease Control looked at the data from 2001 to 2009 in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin and the cities of Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee, New York City, San Francisco and San Diego, locales where the schools permitted questions about homosexual identity/behavior, which isn’t always the case in less “progressive” areas.

Teens who called themselves “gay, lesbian or bisexual,” or who were unsure, as well as those who didn’t use those labels but had sexual contact only with same-sex people or with both sexes, were found to be more likely than heterosexually identified students to engage in seven out of the 10 risk behavior categories. These were: 1) behaviors that contribute to violence; 2) behaviors related to attempted suicide; 3) tobacco use; 4) alcohol use; 5) other drug use; 6) sexual behaviors; and 7) weight management.

Now, I’m not in favor of asking kids these detailed sexual questions, and I’m not alone – many parents feel the same way. In fact, there are quite a few controversies in schools because of inappropriate surveys.

But now that we have this information, it gives an important snapshot, if we evaluate it appropriately.

However, the CDC researchers jumped to predictable conclusions. Among the solutions was the need for “supportive” school environments – meaning, approval of homosexuality – including more “gay straight alliance” clubs and pro-homosexual teacher diversity training. Also, health-care settings and workers need training to be more “open and nonjudgmental.”

Yet haven’t these researchers already been quite judgmental themselves? There’s no way, apparently, they considered the possibility that homosexuality might be a very wrong and unwelcome identity and behavior, nor that maybe these are desperately troubled kids, reflected in their histories of undesirable conduct.

I mean, which comes first, the “gay” feelings or the drug use? The smoking? Is there a cause/effect relationship? Or do they both stem from something else entirely?

The researchers believe these kids just suffer from low self-esteem – which may be true – but they assume it’s the fault of others, including the general social stigmatization of homosexuality. Then, of course, with no supporting evidence, they apparently adopt the “gay” lobby’s position that views against homosexuality are unwarranted and inevitably provoke bullying and self-harm. Homosexuality is either innate, or benign, or both, according to the unsupported, accepted narrative.

So the researchers submit the only possible answer: affirming homosexual behavior. Bullying and difficulties at school will be solved by molding others to a new homosexual “ethic” through favorable policies, re-education sessions and student “gay” clubs.

Yet let’s look at some details of the CDC findings that don’t jibe with these conclusions. For instance, are we actually supposed to believe that low self-respect or social rejection because of one’s homosexual identity causes teens to refuse to wear seat belts? That was one of the risk behaviors higher among “sexual minority” youth. How about driving after having consumed alcohol? What about being abused by a date or being forced to have sex? Wouldn’t that be “gay-on-gay” violence? This would put at least some “gay” kids in the category of “bullier/abuser.” Whoops! There goes another talking point.

Seriously, the percentages reporting dating violence are distinctly higher among the “sexual minority” youth. Why aren’t we seeing a proliferation of anti-violence programs aimed specifically at these kids?

Or how about having already, at their tender ages, had sex with at least four people? Is promiscuity a common reaction to real or perceived discrimination? Or failing to use a condom if they are having sex?

They were also more likely to have smoked, drunk alcohol, tried marijuana, or had sexual intercourse, all before age 13. Is anyone seeing a pattern emerge here? On this point, wouldn’t this have transpired before most declared themselves to be, as they believe, “gay, lesbian or bisexual”?

The problem here, of course, is the solutions themselves are biased and discriminatory. Nor would they be applied in comparable situations. For instance, there’s considerable evidence that overweight students experience bullying and social rejection more than others. And, these kids more often attempt suicide and engage in other risky conduct. So, where are the obesity-affirmation school programs? Why not recommend those?

As usual, political correctness has swallowed common sense. This data reveal troubled kids with issues that often pre-date puberty, heading down a road of self-harm. Others along the way may contribute, but the core dysfunction doesn’t go away by joining a “gay straight alliance.”

This misbehavior can’t all be blamed on others. It’s a picture of sad case histories where parents or guardians were most likely neglectful, abusive or both. Many of these kids raised themselves, aided primarily by our trashy culture. This looks a lot more like a combination of home troubles and rebellion than systemic social discrimination. And sexual deviance is most likely the result of the same factors responsible for the other risky practices.

Ironically, all this is being reported along with another alarming and related indicator. From another section of the CDC comes the latest HIV surveillance report with these findings about young males:

MSM [males who have sex with males] aged 13–24 had the greatest percentage increase (53 percent) in diagnoses of HIV infection from 2006 through 2009.

Yet public schools must keep on “affirming” this behavior? This is educational and medical malpractice. Truly caring adults would be looking at the big picture, not exploiting already troubled kids for a harmful political agenda. No matter what causes these kids to engage in dangerous behaviors, encouraging them to embrace one more – homosexuality – is only going to bring more heartbreak and harm into their already complicated lives.
