Amanda Marcotte of Pro-“Gay” Pandagon Blog Writes…

WARNING — Ms. Marcotte’s statement is vulgar and likely to offend many readers.

In a two-part series against Catholic teachings against birth control (posted Part 1, Jun 14, 2006 and Part 2, June 14, 2006), Amanda Marcotte wrote:

Q: What if Mary had taken Plan B after the Lord filled her with his hot, white, sticky Holy Spirit?

A: You’d have to justify your misogyny with another ancient mythology.

Amanda Marcotte briefly worked for the John Edwards 2008 campaign which, to its credit, eventually accepted her resignation after complaints about her anti-Catholic rhetoric. In her Salon piece, Why I had to quit the John Edwards campaign,” she defended this blasphemy:

“The joke was typical of Pandagon’s satirical tone and was intended to mock a common rhetorical ploy of abortion opponents — a hypothetical question and answer — not to mock anyone’s personal faith.”

In her review of the movie Children of Men, she wrote:

“The Christian version of the virgin birth is generally interpreted as super-patriarchal, where god is viewed as so powerful he can impregnate without befouling himself by touching a woman, and women are nothing but vessels.”

Even openly homosexual Andrew Sullivan called her bloggery “coarse mockery of others’ faith.”
