Task Force Uses Veterans Day to Promote Homosexuality in the Military

Shame on the leftist National Gay and Lesbian Task Force for exploiting a day intended to honor our military veterans by using it to promote its pet cause of allowing admitted homosexuals in the military. Per the usual with the LGBT Lobby, it’s all about them. Me, me, me. Gay, gay, gay. By the way, the Task Force now openly supports “poly[amory] pride” — i.e., “rights” for and recognition of multiple-sex-partner “relationships.” (Are we going to see the Task Force back legalizing “poly marriages” soon?) Below is the Task Force’s selfish release (and yes, their polling data on homosexuals in the military is skewed; see this story). — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

Veterans Day 2010: End ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ now

WASHINGTON, Nov. 10 — Thursday is Veterans Day, a federal holiday honoring our country’s military veterans. On this occasion, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force reiterates its call for the immediate repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” military ban on openly lesbian, gay and bisexual service members.

Statement by Rea Carey, Executive Director
National Gay and Lesbian Task Force

“Veterans Day is a time to remember and honor veterans who have served our country, including thousands of qualified and patriotic lesbian, gay and bisexual service members who have been drummed out of the military under the discriminatory ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy. These courageous men and women were forced to become veterans before their time. Let this be the last Veterans Day where this irrational and costly policy is in effect. We urge the Senate to move swiftly to pass a defense authorization bill and repeal ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ during the lame duck session. It’s long past time to end 17 years of witch hunts that have led to the discharge of thousands of skilled, competent service members and failed to make America stronger. Three-quarters of Americans think ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ should end, as do top military leaders and others. It’s now time for the Senate to step up and do its part to end this unjust policy.”
