His Excellency, Timothy Broglio, the Archbishop for the Military Services, released a statement to the Catholic News Agency responding to a letter from Catholics for Equality; the gay advocacy group pleaded with him to support the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”
Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke to this issue today:
On June 1, Archbishop Broglio released an excellent statement recounting the Catholic Church’s opposition to homosexuality. He called on Catholic chaplains in the armed forces to show respect for the dignity of homosexuals, but he also implored them to “never condone—even silently—homosexual behavior.”
On September 17, a new dissident group, Catholics for Equality, wrote a letter to the archbishop that was not only critical of his Catholic position, it reeked with smugness and arrogance: “We are ready to help you and Catholic chaplains in the transition to full acceptance of gays and lesbians in the military and respectfully request a meeting with you….” So thoughtful of these malcontents to offer their help in transitioning the bishop to oppose the Catholic Church’s teachings on sexuality.
Perverse pop star wants to “inject gay culture into the mainstream”
Lada Gaga on the cover of OUT magazine. Click to enlarge.
From the homosexualist magazine OUT, September 2009, “The Lady Is a Vamp,” p. 113 (Gaga’s quotes in blue, emphasis added by AFTAH):
Her devotion to gay culture is unparalleled by any other artist operating at her level of visibility or success. “When I started in the mainstream it was the gays that lifted me up,” she says. “I committed myself to them and they committed themselves to me, and because of the gay community I’m where I am today.” Earlier this year, in her acceptance speech for her MuchMusic award for best international video, Lady Gaga thanked “God and the gays.” Before agreeing to tour with Kanye West this fall, Gaga told the rapper, “I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I’m gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it’s gay. And I love my gay fans and they’re all going to be coming to our show. And it’s going to remain gay.” That’s another clause in the Gagaland constitution: Gay culture shall gush undiluted into the rapids of society. It shall not be co-opted, fancified, dolled up, or Uncle Tommed. “I very much want to inject gay culture into the mainstream,” she says, “It’s not an underground tool for me. It’s my whole life. So I always sort of joke the real motivation is to just turn the world gay.”
Part 3 of our interview with Prof. Rob Gagnon (www.robgagnon.net) of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary [click HERE to play]. This aired Sept. 18, 2010. Gagnon calls various “gay theological” attempts to homosexualize loving, platonic same-sex biblical relationships such as David’s and Jonathan’s in the Old Testament as desperate “Hail Mary” passes that have no basis in Scripture (see this post on the website “GayChristian101”). He debunks the claim that biblical prohibitions against same-sex erotic love are as trivial as those against the Jews wearing certain types of clothing (the “polyester” argument). And Gagnon addresses those — like Grove City College professor (and de facto “gay” activist) Warren Throckmorton — who profess biblical orthodoxy on homosexuality yet support pro-homosexual public policy goals such as “civil unions.” Gagnon spoke at the AFTAH Truth Academy in August. Arkansas Democrats Lincoln and Pryor join united GOP in turning back massive LGBT blitz for “gays” in military
Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)
America owes a debt of gratitude to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) for leading the fight against the Democratic leadership’s destructive and reckless attempt to homosexualize the military by ending the ban on homosexual servicemen. Allowing open homosexuality in the Armed Services would turn the military into a massive, “gay”-promoting bureaucracy — eroding morale and driving moral-minded soldiers and sailors out of the service. See the Defense Authorization bill vote tally HERE. Contact Sen. McCain via his online contact form HERE. We tried calling Sen. McCain in his D.C. office (phone: 202-224-2255; fax: 202-228-2862) but the voicemail was full. You can reach his local offices HERE. And go to this page to read McCain’s previous floor statement against the repeal effort. McCain has occasionally disappointed conservatives in the past, but in this case he stood strong and defeated a huge potential threat to our nation — extending well beyond national security. — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

Republicans block bill to lift military gay ban
By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer, 9-21-10
WASHINGTON – Senate Republicans on Tuesday blocked an effort to repeal the ban on gays from serving openly in the military, handing gay rights groups a defeat in their last chance any time soon to overturn the law known as “don’t ask, don’t tell.”
Democrats fell short of the 60 votes needed to advance the legislation, which authorized $726 billion in defense spending. The vote was 56-43.
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, had been seen as the crucial 60th vote because she supports overturning the military ban. But Collins sided with her GOP colleagues in arguing that Republicans weren’t given sufficient leeway to offer amendments to the wide-ranging policy bill.
The vote fell mostly along party lines, although Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, both D-Ark., sided with Republicans to block the bill. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., also voted against the measure as a procedural tactic. Under Senate rules, casting his vote with the majority of the Senate enables him to revive the bill at a later date.
Sexual radical Lady Gaga gets serious when it comes to promoting open homosexuality in the military
Lady Gaga poses naked and with a simulated bloody mouth on the cover of OUT, a homosexualist magazine. Gaga is using her pop culture power to overturn the ban on homosexuality in the Armed Forces. See article for resources for understanding the military's common-sense homosexual exclusion policy, and Lady Gaga's Senate lobbying video. Click on photo to enlarge.
TAKE ACTION NOW: Call your U.S. Senators immediately [202-224-3121; www.senate.gov] and urge them to vote against the Defense Authorization Act (SB 3454) containing an amendment repealing the military’s common-sense homosexual exclusion ban. The vote, orchestrated by Majority Leader Harry Reid, is this afternoon. This is perhaps the most important homosexuality-related congressional vote in U.S. history. Urge support for Sen. John McCain’s filibuster of this radical change in military policy that would lead to the exodus of good men and women from the Armed Forces — and result in the persecution of chaplains and people of faith, merely because they oppose homosexual behavior or do not think homosexuality and “gay” politics belong in the military. You must let your voice be heard as homosexual groups and sexual radicals like Lady Gaga — encouraged by the liberal media — are flooding the Senate with calls in favor of allowing open homosexuals in the military.
Educate yourself on the common-sense Homosexual Exclusion Ban:
Below are resources to educate yourself on the implications of today’s vote:
Text of current homosexual exclusion law, Public Law 103-160, Section 654, Title 10, which would be repealed in a process launched by passage of SB 3454, if Sen. McCain’s filibuster is not successful.

Sen. Reid Goes ‘Gaga’ over Homosexuals in the Military
By Peter LaBarbera
Folks, you know as well as I that the media — and apparently Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid — are absolutely “ga ga” over “gays in the military.” (Reid recenly ‘tweeted’ in support of pop mega-star Lady Gaga — freakishly photographed nude on the cover of the “gay” magazine OUT above — after she urged her millions of followers to lobby the Senate to support homosexuals in the military.)
This is what we’re up against — not just for today’s critical vote on homosexuals in the military (commonly misnamed “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”) but in trying to preserve truth for younger Americans who are, in effect, brainwashed on homosexuality. (And that is hardly an overstatement given the level of ignorance about the LGBT agenda that we’re seeing, even among Christian and pro-life youths.)
Repeal of homosexual ban will lead to exodus of moral-minded soldiers
Statement of Elaine Donnelly, President, Center for Military Readiness, in 2008 testimony before the House Armed Services Committee, Subcommittee on Personnel, in support of Section 654, Title 10, the law stating that homosexuals are not eligible to serve in the military. TAKE ACTION: Call your Senators TODAY to support Sen. John McCain’s filibuster of legislation designed to overturn the ban on homosexuality in the military: 202-224-3121 (http://www.contactingthecongress.org/). A vote on the repeal is scheduled for tomorrow.
Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick compared servicemembers who oppose President Obama's policy of allowing open homosexuals in the military to "racists" and said they will have to leave the Armed Forces if they cannot bend to the new pro-LGBT rules. Why is Obama already moving ahead with homosexualizing the military in violation of U.S. law, which bans homosexuals from serving?
TAKE ACTION: The beginning of the process to vote on repealing the ban on homosexuals in the military starts Tuesday. Call and urge your U.S. Senators (202-224-3121) to oppose turning the Armed Forces into Homosexuality-Affirmation Zones that officially discriminate against normal, faith-based servicemembers and chaplains (see bigoted comments by Lt. Gen. Thomas Bostick below).
Also, call Sen. John McCain (202-224-2235) and thank him for leading the opposition to negating the 1993 law barring homosexuals from military service. Read McCain’s formal remarks from the Senate floor yesterday HERE or watch the FOX News video (start at 7:44) on his website HERE.
The U.S. Senate took the initial steps of moving forward with the issue of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” on Thursday as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) filed cloture on major defense budget legislation that includes repeal language.
Reid’s motion to proceed on the fiscal year 2011 defense authorization bill was met with objection by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), prompting Reid to move to end debate by filing cloture.
This manuever means a vote to start official consideration of the defense bill and amendments will take place Tuesday at 2:15 pm. Moving forward will require 60 votes from members for the U.S. Senate. [Continued at the BLADE HERE…]
Prof. Rob Gagnon at AFTAH Truth Academy in August. Gagnon questions whether those supporting "rights" based on homosexuality would do the same for incest and polyamory.
Part Two of Peter LaBarbera’s interview with Prof. Rob Gagnon of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (part Three is next week). This interview aired Sept. 11, 2010. In this discussion, Gagnon (www.robgagnon.net) goes deeper into his biblical analogy between homosexuality and “adult committed incest” and polyamory (multiple-partner sexual unions). He also further critiques liberal evangelical Andrew Marin’s ministry approach in Chicago, noting that repentance — i.e., turning away from homosexual practice — is “part of the conversion process.”
Pegging off Marin’s line about once being a ” Bible-banging homophobe,” Gagnon questions whether Marin would ever say, “I was once a Bible-banging incest-phobe.” He said the fact that liberals object to this sexual sin analogy does not make it invalid — and said it is more relevant than comparing the Bible’s prohibition of homosexual practice to biblical writings about slavery, women’s roles and dietary laws.
Gagnon addresses the homosexualist challenge that the biblical concept of homosexuality was different than today’s homosexuality, noting that monogamous homosexual relationships did exist in Bible times. He also discusses lesbianism and critiques the NIV (New International Version) translations of homosexual terms in 1 Corinthians 6.
