No pro-family group or business, including Chick-fil-A, could match GLN’s hate

Pro-family Americans by the tens of thousands packed Chick-fil-A restaurants last Wednesday to counter the leftist, pro-homosexual campaign against this wonderful, Christian-run corporation. A “gay kiss-in” protest two days later fizzled.

Hello all: Americans For Truth will be standing up for the lone, embattled Chick-fil-A restaurant in downtown Chicago this afternoon at 4:30 — to counter the Gay Liberation Network (GLN) protest at the same restaurant (located at 30 E. Chicago Ave). As longtime AFTAH followers know, GLN is one of the most extreme and hateful organizations in the world. In fact, these hard-core Marxists are so radical that they REFUSED to condemn the pro-homosexual brick attack against AFTAH’s banquet last year at Christian Liberty Academy. (Incidentally, don’t forget to save Saturday, Oct. 27th for this year’s banquet at CLA featuring Dr. Judith Reisman!)

Imagine if Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy publicly and pointedly refused to condemn a violent attack against a homosexual “rights” organization. He’d be pilloried the media, and rightly so. Yes, we live in a world of media double-standards. And believe it or not, it was the hate-mongering Gay Liberation Network that lobbied the Southern Poverty Law Center to smear AFTAH by labeling us a “hate group.”

I don’t exaggerate when I label GLN “bullies.” Not only did they refuse to condemn the hate-violence against Americans For Truth (for which a “gay” blogger called them hateful), but their co-leader, Bob Schwartz, once threatened to push me into oncoming traffic in downtown Chicago! (He told me that “my friends,” a few cops standing nearby, prevented him from doing so.) These zealots champion homosexual “Wikileaks” traitor Bradley Manning as a “hero,” and they have successfully pressured hotels to reject hosting AFTAH events by smearing us as a “hate group” — when the truth is nobody on the pro-family side, including Chick-fil-A, comes close to the brand of hate practiced by GLN.

This is Part Two of our (second) in-depth interview with Prof. Rena Lindevaldsen [click HERE to listen], a professor at Liberty University School of Law and Associate Dean of the Liberty Center for Law and Policy. This interview was recorded July 26, 2012. AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera and co-host John Kirkwood discuss with Lindevaldsen the liberal metamorphosis of American law from being used to promote virtue to its present use to promote vice (including homosexuality). There is further discussion from last week’s interview of the implications of an openly homosexual judge, Sophia Hall, presiding over case involving 25 homosexual couples challenging Illinois’ law defining marriage as it is: between a man and a woman. Lindevaldsen reiterates that Judge Hall has a clear conflict of interest and should recuse herself from the case.

There is also a brief discussion of Sally Ride, the first female astronaut, whose passing away prompted some homosexual activists to stress that she was a lesbian. LaBarbera speculates that there will be an effort to teach about Ride as a homosexual “hero” in future “Gay History Month” celebrations — including in schools. He said that while Ride’s groundbreaking achievements have earned her a place in history, her homosexuality should not be lauded nor made the focus of her life story. Dan Cathy, COO of Chick-fil-A, is under fire from the Left and homosexual activists for standing up for the God-ordained family and marriage.

Folks, it seems that the United States of America is now almost completely upside-down, morally-speaking.  We are living out Isaiah 5:20: “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil.”  Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy non-apologetically defends the Christian traditional family values and immediately becomes the target of a vast, left-wing, pro-homosexual network of LGBT lobby groups and fellow travelers like Lisa Henson, widow of Muppets’ creator Jim Henson.  (Actually, the pro-homosexual movement has been targeting Chick-fil-A for quite some time now, and has succeeded in getting some restaurants booted off liberal college campuses, according to the corporate representative with whom I spoke.)

Prof. Rena Lindevaldsen

This is Part One of AFTAH’s second interview with Prof. Rena Lindevaldsen [click HERE to listen], Associate Dean at Liberty University School of Law, based in Lynchburg, Va. This interview with AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera and Pastor John Kirkwood of Grace Gospel Fellowship church in Bensenville, Illinois, was recorded July 19, 2012. Lindevaldsen discusses the homosexual/ACLU lawsuit in Illinois contending that the state’s law defining marriage as between one man and one woman is unconstitutional. She opines that the presiding judge, Cook County Circuit Judge Sophia Hall, an open lesbian and member of a homosexual judges group, should recuse herself from the case due to an obvious conflict-of-interest. Lindevaldsen is the author of “Only One Mommy: A Woman’s Battle for her Life, Her Daughter and her Freedom,” the story of ex-lesbian-turned-Christian Lisa Miller’s quest to keep custody of her biological daughter, Isabella, and to deny custody to her former lesbian partner.

Says Alan Chambers’ comments about ‘sexual orientation’ change “unwittingly played into the enemy’s hands”

The following letter was published by Desert Stream Ministries, led by former homosexual Andy Comiskey, in response to growing concerns over statements emanating from Exodus International:

Dear Friends,

Several of you have requested my views on the current Exodus debate. As far as I can see, this fundamentally involves the question about changing sexual orientation, with an underlying concern about a compromised view of grace. It also is a structural issue: who is able to do best at what for Exodus.

Please forgive our late entry into sharing our views on these matters. I (Andrew) am a weak social networker who finds the flurry of opinions disorienting, at times more flesh than Spirit. Still, we love Exodus and must take seriously the fact that Living Waters is the most commonly employed ‘healing’ format in our network.

Like you, our goal is to equip the church to offer sound ministry to the sexually broken, with an emphasis on those dealing with SSA. We will continue to do that in and through all our disagreements and adjustments. The goal is preparing a people who please Jesus, the Bride who has made herself ready.

Regarding sexual orientation change, we at DSM will continue to uphold change as a reasonable goal for Christians with SSA who are earnestly seeking Him and who are willing to do the hard work of resolving their gender disintegration through Christ and His healing community. (We realize that not all will graduate into a state of readiness for marriage. However, that should not preclude anyone from seeking full sexual restoration.)

Alan’s comments about change unwittingly played into the enemy’s hands. To question sexual orientation change on the basis of residual struggles is weak theology and psychology. Very few who have overcome destructive, life-dominating issues live without a trace of the problem. To then describe that ‘trace’ as a reason to tone down the idea of change makes no sense to us.

Many of you may know that for 36 years, First Stone Ministries has been affiliated with Exodus International, a network of ministries that all proclaim freedom from homosexuality through relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the last several months, the leadership of First Stone Ministries has become increasingly aware of some changes in Exodus’s ideology and leadership that have resulted in us feeling we are unable to continue as an Exodus Member ministry while maintaining Biblical integrity and a clear conscience before God.
