Do you really think we are having a sane societal debate on anything homosexuality-related when the typical Americans thinks that 25 percent — yes, 25 percent — of the country is “gay”?! What a frightening testament to the power of homosexualist propaganda in Hollywood and the media. Please share this Atlantic.com link (story excerpted below) about the incredible ignorance that is out there in our dumbed-down nation on this politically-correct issue. — Peter LaBarbera, Americans for Truth.
Garance Franke-Ruta of The Atlantic (May 31, 2012) reports:
In surveys conducted in 2002 and 2011, pollsters at Gallup found that members of the American public massively overestimated how many people are gay or lesbian. In 2002, a quarter of those surveyed guessed upwards of a quarter of Americans were gay or lesbian (or “homosexual,” the third option given). By 2011, that misperception had only grown, with more than a third of those surveyed now guessing that more than 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian. Women and young adults were most likely to provide high estimates, approximating that 30 percent of the population is gay. Overall, “U.S. adults, on average, estimate that 25 percent of Americans are gay or lesbian,” Gallup found. Only 4 percent of all those surveyed in 2011 and about 8 percent of those surveyed in 2002 correctly guessed that fewer than 5 percent of Americans identify as gay or lesbian.
Such a misunderstanding of the basic demographics of sexual behavior and identity in America has potentially profound implications for the acceptance of the gay-rights agenda. On the one hand, people who overestimate the percent of gay Americans by a factor of 12 seem likely to also wildly overestimate the cultural impact of same-sex marriage. On the other hand, the extraordinary confusion over the percentage of gay people may reflect a triumph of the gay and lesbian movement’s decades-long fight against invisibility and the closet.

Homosexual activists and fellow travelers like Ernst & Young CEO Jim Turley have the Boy Scouts of America in their crosshairs — hoping to turn it into a homosexuality-affirming organization — but they lost this time.
The Boy Scouts of America (972-580-2000) issued this statement yesterday, July 17, 2012. For background on the public campaign by Boy Scout Executive Board Member and Ernst & Young CEO Jim Turley to push the Scouts in a pro-homosexual direction, go HERE. We are thankful that Turley lost this one, but rest assured the pro-homosexuality movement will now step up its selfish pressure campaign against the Scouts [see this National Gay and Lesbian Task Force statement] — all in the nice-sounding name of “civil rights,” of course.
TAKE ACTION: Thank the Boy Scouts via their Contact Page or by using the information below. [To find your local area Scouts Council, Google your city and Boy Scouts, e.g., “Chicago Boy Scouts”]:

Maine homosexual Adam Flanders — a convicted sex offender — warns AFTAH that he will pressure our web hosting company to drop us.
The following is the full text of an e-mail letter sent Friday by Maine homosexual Adam Flanders to Americans For Truth About Homosexuality. Flanders is responding to AFTAH’s Friday e-newsletter based on this web article in which we reprinted the 2007 letter sent by Flanders — a registered sex offender in Maine — exposing adult-child sex and other abuses at a Maine “gay youth” group.
NOTE: in a future post, we will comment on Flanders’ outlandish claims and demands contained in this letter. In no way is our reprinting of this correspondence meant to affirm the accuracy of Flanders’ assertions. AFTAH has responded to Flanders’ letter with a letter to him by our legal counsel, Charles LiMandri of the Freedom of Conscience Defense Fund, delivered Saturday, July 14, 2012. LiMandri is not one to be intimidated by the likes of Flanders; he is the attorney who won the case involving four San Diego firefighters who sued after being commanded to drive a fire truck in the city’s baudy “gay pride” parade.
Here is Flanders’ letter to AFTAH minus a single redaction of the web hosting company in Maine — which is also being pressured by Flanders because it hosts Brian Camenker’s MassResistance website:

To “Americans for Truth,”
I don’t know if this is actually AFTAH or not since you are using a gmail account, but you are clearly trying to solicit some sort of reaction from me. I am already aware of the articles published on the AFTAH website. I may or may not pursue litigation against AFTAH, but the Belfast Police Chief indicated that’s what he would do in my situation. At this point in time my focus is on the origin of this defamatory material, that is, Brian Camenker and Mass Resistance. I have already established Defamation Per Se, which is recognized in the Maine courts. Even though AFTAH did not originate the material, it is still liable for re-publishing it. You would be wise to Cease and Desist this harassment. If you fail to promptly remove the defamatory and harassing personal material about me, I will contact your host, NoZoneNet. You are clearly in violation of their Terms of Service, which I have read, and it looks like you could stand to lose your entire account. I’m sure the court would grant a protective order against AFTAH for publishing the material, especially where AFTAH has apparently contacted me directly, soliciting a lawsuit. The same judge who granted the protective order against Brian Camenker is currently deciding an injunction that would prevent Brian Camenker from communicating about me, pursuant to Maine’s Stalking statute. The injunction will likely be broad and will apply to repostings of Mr. Camenker’s publications, which includes AFTAH’s publications.

“Legal terrorist” and Sex Offender Flanders now suing Brian Camenker for $1 million for NOT taking down his 2007 letter
Adam Flanders, convicted sex offender.
TAKE ACTION: Brian Camenker and MassResistance need our prayers and our support. Please encourage other pro-family groups to publish Flanders’ 2007 letter exposing the pedophilia and abuses at a Maine “gay youth” group.
Folks, this is one of the most curious and outrageous examples of ‘homo-fascist’ arrogance I have ever encountered, and I apologize for delays in bringing it to you through AFTAH. Below is the (slightly redacted) text of a 2007 letter by Maine homosexual activist Adam Flanders, exposing the pedophilia, perversion and all-around dysfunction at a Maine “gay youth” group, “OUT!…as I Want to Be.” [Click HERE to view the letter in PDF format and HERE for a local article about his explosive letter.]
As MassResistance writes, “Flanders was subsequently convicted of sexually molesting a 14-year-old boy he met at the “gay youth” organization. He spent time in jail, and is currently a registered sex offender in Maine.” [Click HERE to view Flanders’ Maine Sex Offender Registry listing.]
One can only imagine how many incidents of adult-teen predatory behavior and abuses like this have gone on at the many “gay youth” centers in cities and communities across the country, but which have never been exposed, much less investigated!
Recently, Flanders started pressuring pro-family websites to take down his letter exposing OUT! Most complied, but not Brian Camenker of MassResistance — a true man of principle who makes it a point never to give in to “gay” activist bullies. So Flanders accused Camenker of “stalking” him and got a bizarre “restraining order” (in a kangaroo-court trial) against Camenker — even though Brian, living in another state, had never come near Flanders.
Next, when Brian continued to refuse to take down his letter, Flanders successfully pressured Camenker’s Kentucky-based web provider to drop MassResistance as a client. Even the conservative WorldNetDaily pulled a couple of articles about the story after being pressured by Flanders.
The latest action by this malicious “legal terrorist” is to sue Camenker for $1 million for “defamation”! (How do you “defame” someone by publicizing their own exact words?) Like so much of the homosexualist agenda, it’s all about intimidation. Camenker warns that Flanders’ and similar lawsuits are part of a new homosexual activist strategy to harass and browbeat pro-family opponents into submission.
We suppose that young Flanders in his hubris might now sue or threaten to sue AFTAH. So be it. We must not cower to radical homosexual militants who seem to think they are above the First Amendment, and who — like spoiled brats — attempt to bully their opponents in the culture through crass acts of intimidation like Flanders’ preposterous lawsuit against my good friend Brian. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

Following is a reprint of the MassResistance post on Flanders’ original open letter:
Public letter from gay activist in Maine reveals homosexual sex with kids as young as 14 at “gay youth” group meetings
Also drugs, alcohol, suicide threats, more. An extremely sad and troubling story. The grave danger of gay “clubs” in your schools.
POSTED by MassResistance.org January 2007. UPDATED by MassResistance June 2012 In January 2007
Adam Flanders — a 20-year-old homosexual activist — wrote this shocking letter about the outrageous abuses going on between adults and kids in the local “gay youth” club. It includes his own admission of sexual relations with two younger boys. Flanders sent copies of the letter to two local police departments, the local news media, other government agencies, and various pro-family groups. And he encouraged them to publish this letter as a warning to the public. In fact, MassResistance has been warning about this kind of problem for years.

Says Alan Chambers’ comments about ‘sexual orientation’ change “unwittingly played into the enemy’s hands”
Andy Comiskey of Desert Stream Ministries.
The following letter was published by Desert Stream Ministries, led by former homosexual Andy Comiskey, in response to growing concerns over statements emanating from Exodus International:
April 2012
Dear Friends,
Several of you have requested my views on the current Exodus debate. As far as I can see, this fundamentally involves the question about changing sexual orientation, with an underlying concern about a compromised view of grace. It also is a structural issue: who is able to do best at what for Exodus.
Please forgive our late entry into sharing our views on these matters. I (Andrew) am a weak social networker who finds the flurry of opinions disorienting, at times more flesh than Spirit. Still, we love Exodus and must take seriously the fact that Living Waters is the most commonly employed ‘healing’ format in our network.
Like you, our goal is to equip the church to offer sound ministry to the sexually broken, with an emphasis on those dealing with SSA. We will continue to do that in and through all our disagreements and adjustments. The goal is preparing a people who please Jesus, the Bride who has made herself ready.
Regarding sexual orientation change, we at DSM will continue to uphold change as a reasonable goal for Christians with SSA who are earnestly seeking Him and who are willing to do the hard work of resolving their gender disintegration through Christ and His healing community. (We realize that not all will graduate into a state of readiness for marriage. However, that should not preclude anyone from seeking full sexual restoration.)
Alan’s comments about change unwittingly played into the enemy’s hands. To question sexual orientation change on the basis of residual struggles is weak theology and psychology. Very few who have overcome destructive, life-dominating issues live without a trace of the problem. To then describe that ‘trace’ as a reason to tone down the idea of change makes no sense to us.

The following is a reprint of the November 1987 article, “The Overhauling of Straight America,” which appeared in Guide Magazine, a homosexual publication. A few years later its authors, Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen (who wrote under the psuedonym “Erastes Pill” below), expanded it into a book: “After the Ball — How America will conquer its fear and hatred of Gays in the 1990s” (Plume, 1990). The article and book have frequently been cited by conservatives as the blueprint for how homosexual activists would ultimately successfully “market” homosexuality to the American public (emphasis added):
The Overhauling of Straight America
By Marshall Kirk and Erastes Pill [Hunter Madsen], The Guide Magazine
The first order of business is desensitization of the American public concerning gays and gay rights. To desensitize the public is to help it view homosexuality with indifference instead of with keen emotion. Ideally, we would have straights register differences in sexual preference the way they register different tastes for ice cream or sports games: she likes strawberry and I like vanilla; he follows baseball and I follow football. No big deal.
At least in the beginning, we are seeking public desensitization and nothing more. We do not need and cannot expect a full “appreciation” or “understanding” of homosexuality from the average American. You can forget about trying to persuade the masses that homosexuality is a good thing. But if only you can get them to think that it is just another thing, with a shrug of their shoulders, then your battle for legal and social rights is virtually won. And to get to shoulder-shrug stage, gays as a class must cease to appear mysterious, alien, loathsome and contrary. A large-scale media campaign will be required in order to change the image of gays in America. And any campaign to accomplish this turnaround should do six things.
[1] TALK ABOUT GAYS AND GAYNESS AS LOUDLY AND AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.
The principle behind this advice is simple: almost any behavior begins to look normal if you are exposed to enough of it at close quarters and among your acquaintances. The acceptability of the new behavior will ultimately hinge on the number of one’s fellows doing it or accepting it. One may be offended by its novelty at first–many, in times past, were momentarily scandalized by “streaking,” eating goldfish, and premarital sex. But as long as Joe Six-pack feels little pressure to perform likewise, and as long as the behavior in question presents little threat to his physical and financial security, he soon gets used to it and life goes on. The skeptic may still shake his head and think “people arc crazy these days,” but over time his objections are likely to become more reflective, more philosophical, less emotional.
The way to benumb raw sensitivities about homosexuality is to have a lot of people talk a great deal about the subject in a neutral or supportive way. Open and frank talk makes the subject seem less furtive, alien, and sinful, more above-board. Constant talk builds the impression that public opinion is at least divided on the subject, and that a sizable segment accepts or even practices homosexuality. Even rancorous debates between opponents and defenders serve the purpose of desensitization so long as “respectable” gays are front and center to make their own pitch. The main thing is to talk about gayness until the issue becomes thoroughly tiresome.

The following is a statement issued by First Stone Ministries, based in Oklahoma City, OK, and headed by Stephen Black, a former homosexual [click HERE to listen to Part One of AFTAH’s 2011 interview with Black; and HERE for Part Two]:
Many of you may know that for 36 years, First Stone Ministries has been affiliated with Exodus International, a network of ministries that all proclaim freedom from homosexuality through relationship with Jesus Christ. Over the last several months, the leadership of First Stone Ministries has become increasingly aware of some changes in Exodus’s ideology and leadership that have resulted in us feeling we are unable to continue as an Exodus Member ministry while maintaining Biblical integrity and a clear conscience before God. In April, First Stone officially resigned as an Exodus Member ministry. We remain dedicated to proclaiming Biblical truth in all sexual and relational matters, and to providing a safe place for those struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions to find healing and freedom in Christ and to be empowered to “go and sin no more.” Pray for us as we seek to remain connected with other Biblically-sound ministries and to maintain and even increase our influence to the Church and culture in Oklahoma and throughout the Midwest. Two sources which provide a prophetic and scholarly perspective of our decision:

Rachel Held Evans says today’s younger Christians are uniting against legislative action (such as pro-traditional marriage amendments) opposing the homosexual agenda.
By Peter LaBarbera
Folks, there’s nothing that MSNBC and the Left-biased media love more than to highlight an evangelical Christian who has sold out on homosexuality (or abortion). That is essentially what evangelical blogger Rachel Held Evans has done on the homosexual “marriage” issue — hence she is featured prominently in this MSNBC piece titled, “Could marriage debate drive young christians from church?”
For the life of me I cannot fathom the shallowness of Held Evans’ thinking, beginning with her casual acceptance of personal identity (“gayness”) based on a sin (homosexuality) that God calls an abomination. Are today’s young Christians really that soft-headed and brainwashed (yes, brainwashed by the politically correct media, Hollywood and academia) that they believe that because they “know someone who’s gay,” they can no longer fight and speak out against something as evil as legalized homosexual “marriage”?
Is it beyond the comprehension of the under-35 crowd that perhaps out-and-proud “gayness” and other misguided secular ideas are prospering precisely because the influence of biblcal Christianity is waning in our culture?
Also note in bold below Held Evans’ particular aversion toward Christians opposing the political/legislative homosexual agenda — while presumably it is fine for the powerful Sin Movement that calls itself “gay” to use our American freedoms to push boldly toward achieving its radical goals. (Goals that include teaching homosexuality and gender confusion (transgenderism) to the very young in schools; blacklisting and silencing pro-family (Christian) voices in the media; and undermining religious freedom itself insofar as it conflicts with homosexuality-based “rights.”)
In other words, Held Evans and fellow “nicer-than-Jesus” evangelicals advocate a unilateral surrender in the Culture War.
