‘Gay Rights’ Over Religious Freedom? Radical lesbian activist and EEOC Commissioner Chai Feldblum (first nominated by Obama) was curiously reappointed to the federal agency by President Trump last year. We applaud Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) for putting a hold in the Senate on leftist lesbian legal activist Chai Feldblum, whom President Donald Trump foolishly reappointed to the federal EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) last December. AFTAH has followed Feldblum (an atheist) for many years and fought her back in 2009 when she was first appointed to the EEOC by Obama. By the way, she petulantly blocks me on Twitter, indicating her lack of impartiality and strong activist bias.
Feldblum argues that the battle between “gay rights” and religious liberties is a “zero-sum game” and that LGBTQ legal activists should and invariably will win those fights. I don’t know what Trump was thinking when he reappointed her. After all, he ran for office pledging to his base of evangelical Christian voters that he would ardently defend religious freedom. And “LGBTQ rights” is the Number One threat to freedom of conscience in America today. How about draining that Obama LGBTQ swamp, Mr. President?

A Threat to Marriage from the EEOC

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission may seem like an unlikely threat to religious liberty and the institution of marriage. After all, the federal agency was created to combat workplace discrimination by the Civil Rights Act of 1964. But sadly, the agency created to fight discrimination now threatens to discriminate itself; one nominee to the commission’s five-member board wants to use the federal agency’s power to undermine our nation’s founding principles.
Chai Feldblum was first nominated to the EEOC by President Barack Obama in 2009, but she was not confirmed by the Senate. In March 2010, President Obama skirted the Senate by seating Feldblum on the commission when Congress was in recess. The Senate ultimately confirmed Feldblum on a 54-41 vote during a lame-duck session in December of that year. Only two Republicans voted for Feldblum’s confirmation.
Folks, here is Rev. Grace Harley’s speech at AFTAH’s June 26 “Repeal Obergefell” press event in front of the Supreme Court, to mark the three-year anniversary of the judicial travesty of the Obergefell “gay marriage” decision. Every day I am confronted by LGBTQ activists who insist that “sexual orientation” cannot be changed. And yet my friend Grace testifies to the opposite–saying [go to 4:25] that she hasn’t had a lustful sexual thought about women since her Christian conversion 26 years ago. Grace, like all of us, cannot change her skin color but she praises the Lord that through His grace and power she radically changed her sexual thoughts and disordered “transgender” lifestyle. (Her reference to the “MCC” is for the Metropolitan Community Church, a “gay activist” church catering to unrepentant homosexuals.)

What a shock: President Obama–the same man who fibbed to U.S. voters in 2008 about his pious opposition to homosexual “marriage”–was truth-challenged again about what led up to his disastrous “transgender,” men-and-boys-in-female-restrooms Executive Order.
Always remember this: the self-righteous Left employs an “End Justifies the Means” approach because, in their foolish pride, they define their entire agenda–no matter how depraved or extreme its policies–as morally superior to their reactionary, “hateful” opponents. (Think partial-birth infanticide abortion and taxpayer-funded transsexual healthy-body-mutilations “sex-reassignment surgeries.”)
So a few lies here and a few lies there are no big deal if that’s what it takes to “transform” America in the direction of “equality” (GaySpeak for radical egalitarianism falsely equating natural heterosexuality and marriage with deviant-sex/confused-gender immorality)…Can I get a smug leftist amen?

Obama was “chomping at the bit” to support homosexuality-based “marriage,” says key adviser

Obama adviser and powerful Chicago Democratic political strategist David Axelrod confirms in his new book “Believer” what many Americans have long suspected: Barack Obama “bulsh*tted” America on “gay marriage” to help win his bid for the White House in 2008. “I had no doubt that this [a 1996 campaign pledge by Obama to support same-sex “marriage” legislation while running for Illinois state senator] was his heartfelt belief.”
Candidate and then-Sen. Obama “grudgingly accepted the cousel of more pragmatic folks like me, and modified his position to support civil unions rather than [homosexual ‘marriage’].”
Obama “never felt comfortable with the compromise, and told Axelrod after one “awkward” public exchange defending his calculated compromise position: “I’m just not very good at [bullsh*tting].”
In 2010, “the president was chomping at the bit to support the right of gays and lesbians to wed–and having watched him struggle with this issue for years, I was ready, too.”
I heartily agree with Boyce College Professor of Biblical Studies Denny Burk‘s take on this:
“If Axelrod’s report is accurate, this is the worst kind of hypocrisy and cynicism. It would mean this: Not only did President Obama lie in order to get elected, but he also used his Christian faith as a pretense. He pretended to believe Christian teaching in order to make the lie credible.”
Obama himself is pushing back against Axelrod’s claim–see this Politico story: “Obama: I didn’t lie about same-sex marriage.” “I think David is mixing up my personal feelings with my position on the issue,” Obama told Buzzfeed.
But like so much of what the president has said over the years, his denial is not very plausible–just watch again the video below of Obama’s infamous “God is in the mix” pledge to 2008 debate moderator Pastor Rick Warren in support of natural marriage. (One could argue that as much as Obama may have “hated BS’ing” the country on sodomy-based “marriage,” he was pretty darned good at it–maybe a career in Hollywood awaits him after he leaves the Oval Office.)
Below are photos of the pages 446-7 from Axelrod’s book containing the key revelation that candidate Obama knew all along that he was “bullsh*tting” the public on this critical moral issue, followed by the 2008 Saddleback presidential debate footage (note Obama’s feigned piety). Oh, and one more thing: NEVER should Rick Warren moderate another presidential debate–he blew a big opportunity to call out Obama on his charade, which should have been evident to everyone since then-candidate Obama gave rhetorical sustenance to the very aggressive LGBT push for same-sex “marriage”–e.g., condemning state amendments to preserve the traditional definition of marriage–even as he formally opposed legalizing it:

Barack Obama sure has a strange way of showing his much-touted support for traditional “marriage.” On Monday, Obama’s Justice Department filed a legal brief against DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, which was signed into law by the last Democrat to occupy the Oval Office: Bill Clinton. Weeks before that, Obama’s administration had defended DOMA, setting off a flurry of protests from his gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgender-whatever allies.
DOMA — which only Congress can repeal — passed overwhelmingly in 1996 with bipartisan consensus (a mere 14 Democratic Senators voted “No”). It protects states from being forced to recognize out-of-state “gay marriages.” Its growing unpopularity among Democrats signals the near-complete moral collapse of the party of Harry S Truman, who surely would bristle at the Dems’ current overwhelming support of abortion-on-demand and homosexuality as non-negotiable, litmus-test issues.
