House Speaker Mike Madigan, a Catholic, used his considerable power to advance the homosexual agenda in Illinois by successfully pushing for a "civil unions" bill -- even though the state's Catholic Conference urged opposition to the bill.
The following e-Alert was sent out yesterday prior to the House vote. Pathetically, only two downstate Republicans, Rep. Dave Reis (Olney) and Rep. Ron Stephens (Greenville), rose on the floor to speak against this bill — which that takes a giant step toward government promotion of homosexuality in Illinois. Good for Reis and Stephens, and bad for the IL-GOP, which continues to live down to its reputation as one of the weakest Republican parties in the nation when it comes to actually fighting for the conservative GOP Platform.
We hear from a key pro-family lobbyist in Springfield that some “pro-family” legislators lied about their voting intention — saying they would vote against “civil unions” and then caving like cowards under the pressure of Mike Madigan’s and the Democrats’ lobby campaign. Now the vote goes to the Illinois Senate. TAKE ACTION: call your state senator at 217-782-2000 (see below for more info).
And so Illinois, dominated by Chicago and its corrupt Democratic machine, continues its moral descent. Land of Lincoln? In name only, as Abe Lincoln — whom some very troubled homosexual activists have tried to smear as a homosexual (it’s easy when the targeted victim is deceased) — actually revered the Bible, and thus surely respected its moral teachings — including the sinfulness of homosexual behavior and all sex outside of marriage.
Here is a PDF with the House vote tally, and Illinois Family Institute’s initial story on the vote. And here is the Chicago Tribune story in which the reporter seems surprised that Stephens linked the embrace of homosexuality to the decline of American civilization. No, I’m afraid America is not “special” in that regard: every advance of homosexualist legislation strengthens a powerful perversion movement that ingeniously plays the victim while promoting acceptance of its pet sin in the name of “civil rights.” Aren’t you tired of politicians like Madigan who ignore the teachings of their own church because they presume to be smarter than God? — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

AFTAH’s e-Alert sent out Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010:
Dear Illinois Readers,
TAKE ACTION TODAY! If you are an Illinois resident and care about marriage, it is imperative that you make your voice known NOW about the “Civil Unions” bill that liberal Democrats are pushing in the lame-duck session in Springfield! A vote could come today, tomorrow or at any time before the new session if they extend the lame-duck Veto Session. Call your state legislators at 217-782-2000 (find them here: www.ilga.gov or use your your zip code to find them here: www.congress.org; or call IFI at 708-781-9328 and get the information). Dem power-brokers like Rahm Emmanuel, Lisa Madigan, and her powerful father Mike Madigan are lobbying hard to pass Civil Unions. They are cutting deals to get votes for this bill (S.B. 1716) — so “We the People” must act now to defend real marriage and resist their pro-“gay” machinations!

This excerpt is from the website of “Rightly Concerned,” a project of AFA (American Family Association):
In Defense of the Pope
By Bryan Fischer, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 10:31 AM
The New York Times has done to the Pope on condoms what the out-of-the-mainstream has done to me on the Medal of Honor: so distorted his words that they accuse of him of saying the exact opposite of what he actually said.
According the Gray (and fading) Lady, the Pope said “that condom use can be justified in some cases to help stop the spread of AIDS…”
Sorry, Charlie, that’s not what he said.
For openers, he flatly denied that condoms are the solution to the AIDS problem: “We cannot solve the problem by distributing condoms.” It’s difficult to be any clearer than that.
Here is the central paragraph in the Pope’s interview, with emphasis added:
“There may be a basis in the case of some individuals, as perhaps when a male prostitute uses a condom, where this can be a first step in the direction of a moralization, a first assumption of responsibility, on the way toward recovering an awareness that not everything is allowed and that one cannot do whatever one wants. But it is not really the way to deal with the evil of HIV infection. That can really lie only in a humanization of sexuality.”
What part of “not really the way to deal with the evil of HIV infection” does the New York Times not understand? A third grader can understand that better than the arrogant, out of touch, and self-appointed elitists at the Times.

Elaine Donnelly testifies against homosexualizing the military in the name of "nondiscrimination." Donnelly cautions that few lawmakers realize the radical changes that would result from opening up the Armed Forces to homosexuals -- including the persecution of moral-minded servicemembers and chaplains.
TAKE ACTION: Elaine Donnelly rightly warns in an interview with AFTAH of the devastating impact of Obama’s plan to homosexualize our military. Have you contacted both your U.S. Senators to oppose repealing the military’s common-sense homosexuality ban? Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) says he has the votes to move forward on a Defense bill containing the repeal measure. A repeal vote by the lame-duck Senate could come any time after Dec. 1. Call 202-224-3121 or go to www.Congress.org to make your voice heard!

Perverted and Christian-hating sex columnist treated with great respect in Chicago
"Queer" sex columnist Dan Savage believes straight married couples should have outside sex (like many homosexual male couples) as a way to help reduce the divorce rate. Few in the LGBT movement have a record as extreme and hateful as Savage when it comes to vulgar demonizations of pro-family leaders like former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.
[CORRECTION: Note HERE our technical correction to this article: Dan Savage correctly points out that his and his male partner’s “three way” trysts were with acquaintances — NOT “strangers” as we originally reported in this piece.]
TAKE ACTION: Call taxpayer-funded WTTW at 773-583-5000 (9-5:00 Central Time M-F; hit “0” and ask for Phil Ponce). Or contact WTTW CEO and President Dan Schmidt. Let WTTW know that it is hypocritical and shameful that they were so respectful toward a hate-filled, vulgar anti-religious homosexual extremist like Dan Savage. Eight percent of WTTW’s budget comes from the taxpayers: urge the station to balance their in-depth interview with the anti-Christian Savage with an extended interview with a pro-family leader opposed to mainstreaming homosexuality. You can e-mail the program at chicagotonight@wttw.com. Or leave an online message on Chicago Tonight’s contact form HERE. You can also contact your Congressman at 202-224-3121 (www.Congress.org) regarding cutting off all federal funds the far-left-biased Public Broadcasting System [contact PBS’ Ombudsman HERE].
___________________________
Folks, I sent a version of the letter below to WTTW, Chicago’s main public TV station, and its daily evening program, “Chicago Tonight.” Apparently, like most of the rest of Chicago’s Left-dominated media, WTTW has decided that there is no legitimate “other side” on the homosexuality issue. Hence Wednesday they felt free to do an embarrassingly uncritical interview with renegade ex-Catholic Dan (“Saliva Terrorist”) Savage — who is as radical and perverted a Christian-basher as there is in the LGBT movement. [To view Ponce’s fawning interview with Savage, go HERE.]
I forgot to mention in my letter Savage’s admitted “three way” gay sexual romps — he, his “husband” Terry and a male acquaintance [NOTE: see AFTAH clarification: we originally reported that the three-ways were with “strangers”] — while Terry and he were co-adoptive “daddies” of “The Kid” (the title of Savage’s book). AFTAH wondered: who babysat “The Kid” during their orgy? Savage is a leading booster of “gay parenting” and homosexual adoption — once even landing as a guest on the conservative Michael Medved Show (Medved said he was unaware of Savage’s advocacy of “nonmonogamy” and his history of viciously maligning Christians.)
Savage is living proof that nobody hates like hard-core homosexual activists — yet because he is a “gay” activist and Christians are the target of his bile, Savage not only gets a pass from the media but is treated with deference and respect. (While in Chicago, Savage was also the featured speaker at the Chicago Humanities Festival.)

AFTAH in the news
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. — Romans 12:2
Vicky Gene Robinson, move over. There’s a new spiritual fraud in the pulpit. The liberal media and pro-“gay” advocates are applauding “Bishop” Jim Swilley for declaring his homosexuality at his church. (If there’s one thing that secular, left-leaning reporters like more than “gay” Republicans, it’s homosexual “Christians.”) I will have more comments on Swilley’s interview with fawning CNN anchor Don Lemon (himself a pro-homosexuality activist who was homosexually molested as a boy). See also D.L. Foster’s piece over at Gay Christian Movement Watch, “Bishop Jim Swilley fasttracking the gay christian lie.”
Pray for Swilley — that he would cease and repent of his rebellion against his Creator. But also pray against his evil and unconscionable attempt to synthesize changeable sexual sin with Christianity, thus deceiving the Body of Christ and untold millions with his world-conforming testimony. Swilley needs to feel shame (not “gay pride”) for advocating sin as an identity, but right now he appears preoccupied with becoming the latest “gay christian” (small “c”) celebrity. — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org
Editor’s Note: In the One News Now article below, when I made the comment, “Most boys don’t think about sex,” I was referring to very young boys. I am always perplexed to hear adult homosexual men talk about how they “knew they were gay” from a very young age, say, five years old. Normally, boys don’t even know what sex is, much less homosexuality, in their early years, so such comments in an of themselves seem to indicate dysfunction, at best, or victimhood at the hands of a predator, at worst, in the young lives of these homosexually identified men. — PL

LaBarbera: GA Pastor Swilley ‘Christianizing’ Sin
By Charlie Butts
OneNewsNow – 11/17/2010
A Georgia mega-church pastor has come out of the closet as a homosexual, but the head of a group dedicated to exposing the homosexual activist agenda thinks the “bishop” is compromising God’s Word.
Fifty-two-year-old Jim Swilley of the Church In The Now, an inter-denominational Christian church in Conyers, has stated that the September suicide of a Rutgers University student prompted him to unveil his secret life to his congregation.

If it is not proper for male TSA agents to frisk female travelers, why would the TSA allow homosexual men to "pat down" male travelers, or lesbians to "pat down" women?
News Release, November 16, 2010
Contact: Peter LaBarbera: 630-717-7631; americansfortruth@gmail.com
CHICAGO – Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) today questioned the propriety of “same-gender” TSA (Transportation Security Administration) “pat-downs” – if the TSA agents doing the “patting down” are homosexual, lesbian or bisexual.
Homeland Security Sec. Janet Napolitano went out of her way yesterday to stress that the TSA pat-downs are “same-gender” – mostly to reassure women that men will not be groping them at airports in the name of safety.
“But what about homosexual TSA agents?” AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera responded. “Isn’t it just as inappropriate for a ‘gay’ male TSA agent to pat down male travelers as it is for a normal, heterosexual male TSA agent to pat down female travelers?
“The reality is, most traveling men would not want Barney Frank to pat them down at the airport security checkpoint,” LaBarbera said. “Neither would it be fair to assign Ellen DeGeneres to pat down female travelers. (In the same vein, the Army should no more force normal male soldiers to shower and bunk with homosexual male soldiers than it would force females soldiers to bunk and shower with their male counterparts.)”
The TSA, as a federal agency, is barred from discriminating on the basis of “sexual orientation,” thanks to a pro-homosexual Executive Order signed by President Clinton in 1998.

DL Foster, ex-homosexual and founder of Gay Christian Movement Watch (www.gcmwatch.com), and author of "Touching a Dead Man" (www.TouchingaDeadMan.com)..
This third and final part of my interview with D.L. Foster aired Saturday, Nov. 13. [CLICK HERE to listen.] It was pre-taped a few days before that. Foster is the founder of Gay Christian Movement Watch (www.gcmwatch.com), which monitors (from a critical perspective) the heretical “gay christian” movement. Commenting on the current media hype over “gay” youth suicides,” Foster accuses the Homosexual Lobby of using children to advance their agenda: and the media is a partner in it.” Regarding homosexuals in the military, Foster asks: “There are thousands of people that are discharged from the military for all types of reasons…Why is it a national crisis … because some ‘gay’ servicemenber that knows Arabic is kicked out of the Army?”
Foster also describes how overcoming homosexual sin in a person’s life is possible without “reparative therapy.” He says, “The issue of homosexuality is not a therapy issue, it’s a sin issue — and you cannot ‘counsel’ sin out. It must be repented of.” He does cite the role of Christian discipleship through which a mature believer who is familiar with the struggle of homosexuality counsels and helps another Christian in the overcoming process. Listen to Part One HERE of the Foster interview and Part Two HERE. Contact info: you can reach DL Foster at his ministry website HERE. You can also order his book, Touching a Dead Man, HERE. Rep. Barney Frank
Here is a story about America’s most famous homosexual politician, Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA). Note the good news about the new Congress, but also the new strategy that Sen. Harry Reid and the Democrats are planning to use to attempt to repeal the ban on homosexuality in the military (during the lame-duck session). Excerpted from the homosexual newspaper Washington Blade (the full interview is on the website):
Frank: ‘Zero chance’ for LGBT bills next year
Lou Chibbaro Jr., Washington Blade, Nov 08, 2010
Gay U.S. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who won re-election last week in one of his toughest challenges, said LGBT legislation would have no chance of passing in Congress under the Republican-controlled House next year.
In an interview Tuesday with the Washington Blade, Frank also said he was confident that the Senate, of which Democrats retained control, would join President Obama in blocking any anti-gay bills that conservative Republicans might introduce over the next two years.
“Next year there’s no chance of anything happening,” he said of pro-LGBT legislation. “There’s zero chance.”
He added, “It will be a status quo. They don’t have the votes to hurt us but we don’t have the votes to advance anything in the cause.”
