Jesus Christ Became Sin so that Sinners Could Become Righteous before GodFriday, April 2nd, 2010
Today I heard a radio sermon by Dr. Tony Evans of the Urban Alternative that was one of the most powerful I have ever heard on the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ. “Jesus Christ experienced hell so you and I could experience heaven,” Evans said. “…You and I stand before God as if [we] never sinned.” The sermon is entitled, “The Necessity of the Cross.” The website says “Part 2” for today (April 2). If you want to gain a greater understanding of what Christ did for mankind as sinners, listen to this sermon on MP3; it will bless you and expand your love for and gratitude to God for his ‘Amazing Grace.’ May all who follow the Lord have a Blessed Easter Sunday! — Peter LaBarbera, Americans For Truth April Fool’s Day Jokes for America’s Culture War? We Wish!Thursday, April 1st, 2010San Francisco drag queen “Sisters'” “Hunky Jesus” contest mocks Resurrection — on Easter SundayBy Peter LaBarbera Truth is often stranger than fiction these days in Politically Correct America, thanks to the Anti-Christian, Libertine Left: ![]() Every Easter Sunday in San Francisco, the twisted drag queen group "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" hosts a blasphemous "Hunky Jesus" contest mocking the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. In three days, in what has become a sick, blasphemous Easter Sunday ritual in San Francisco, America’s “gay” Mecca, a group of homosexual drag queens — posing as mock nuns and calling themselves the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” — will sponsor the “Hunky Jesus” contest in a city park. Scantily-clad homosexual men and cross-dressing, queer “Sisters” with gaudy, painted faces will mock the Resurrection of Christ on an outdoor stage, as crude “homoerotic” jokes fly and the crowd roars with laughter. Last year’s winner: “Brokeback Jesus.” … I wish this were an April Fool’s Day joke…but it’s not. [To watch a “Hunky Jesus” contest on YouTube, go here: An Episcopal Bishop, V. Gene Robinson — “V” stands for Vicky; his parents wanted a girl — travels the country using his once-respected church office to promote the sin of homosexuality. He does this in the name of “Christianity,” of course. Yes, Vicky Gene – who left his wife and family to pursue a “gay” lifestyle with another man — knows better than God. He believes “monogamous gay relationships” are a good thing and argues that poor Apostle Paul just didn’t understand all that we sophisticated, modern-day Westerners know about “sexual orientation.” The Episcopal Church has also approved its first avowedly lesbian bishop, “Rev.” Mary Glasspool — Chapter One of the New Testament Book of Romans be damned. … I wish this were an April Fool’s Day joke…but it’s not. The state of Maine is on the verge of implementing “rights” for “transgender” students to use opposite-sex restrooms in schools — following the passage of a homosexual/transgender law. Grade school boys who think they’re “girls” would be able to use the girls’ restrooms…. I wish this were an April Fool’s Day joke (and so do Maine’s parents)…but it’s not. She is also one of the authors of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) which would provide special protections for those who choose to base their identity on their same-sex attraction or their disordered desire to do the impossible: change their sex. And this is the same Chai Feldblum whom President Barack Obama has appointed to serve on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). He used the legal but divisive mechanism of recess appointments, which allow him to appoint people to serve in important government roles without being confirmed by the U.S. Senate. According to the homosexual newspaper, Windy City Times, “Feldblum, as part of the commission, will have considerable influence in the writing of federal regulations to enforce” the deeply troubling ENDA if it’s passed. Evan Hurst Says All ‘Fundamentalist’ Christians ‘Are Anti-Semitic at their Core’Wednesday, March 31st, 2010![]() Anything it takes: Truth Wins Out writer Evan Hurst slanders Mission America's Linda Harvey (above) -- and ALL Bible-believing Christians -- as "anti-Semitic at their core."
Try as I might, I don’t think I could ever match the hatred that flows so naturally from the fingertips of “Truth Wins Out” (TWO) writer Evan Hurst. Granted, Hurst has a tall order rising to the Hate Quotient set by his boss and all-around Bad Boy of Buggery, Wayne Besen, but he’s really working hard to match Besen’s bluster. (By the way, Besen, who founded TWO, was an easy winner of AFTAH’s debut, 2009 “Gay Grinch of the Year” contest but due to unresolved copyright issues we never announced the winner; belated congrats, Wayne.) Here’s Hurst turning a rant against my friend and Mission America founder Linda Harvey (and pro-family veteran Scott Lively) into a general attack on ALL Bible-believing Christians as “anti-Semitic.” Note the bold portion (our emphasis) in this comment found in the post, “TWO Exclusive: Linda Harvey’s Extremism On Display In Michigan”:
My first impulse is to report Hurst and Truth Wins Out at once to the SPLC as bona fide haters for propounding such an obvious falsehood, but something tells me my complaint might get lost in the bureaucracy over there. It’s easy to blame nasty and intolerant blog comments on crazed readers; after all, it’s soooo hard to keep track of each and every reader comment, we are told. But it’s much harder to explain away “virulent” irrationality when the author is … one of your own writers! Surely Hurst is not unaware of the fact that the “fundamentalist” Christians he so obviously despises are historically a bastion of support for the State of Israel. (Probably just a cover for their internalized anti-Semitism, just as Christian conservatives’ opposition to homosexuality is a cover for their internalized homophobia.) Oh well. Something’s winning out over at TWO, but it’s not the “truth.” — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org ‘Gay Liberation Network’ Leader Pronounces Catholic Church ‘Haters’Tuesday, March 30th, 2010
![]() The Catholic Church should also be on the "hate" list, says Bob Schwartz of the Gay Liberation Network. Bob Schwartz, a leader of the Gay Liberation Network, a Marxist “direct action” group that reportedly lobbied the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to mislabel Americans For Truth as a “hate” website, sent the e-mail below to AFTAH through our website. Schwartz describes himself as a Trotskyist (after Bolshevik Leon Trotsky, who advocated worldwide communist revolution before being assassinated by a Soviet agent in Mexico in 1940). Communists have such a long and storied history defending human rights and individual rights and dignity, you know. Note that you don’t have to agree with the Catholic Church’s handing of its homosexual/pedophile crisis (most Catholics I know do not) to see the absurdity of labeling the church a “hater” because it defends traditional sexual morality and natural marriage between a man and a woman. The folly of the SPLC’s expanding “hate” dragnet is that it threatens to engulf all religious/moral opposition to homosexuality. Indeed, it would be revealing to query the top 25 “GLBT” activist across the nation and ask them if they would also label, as Matt Barber pokes fun HERE, the following as “hate groups”: Family Research Council, AFA, the Roman Catholic Church, Focus on the Family, the Southern Baptist Convention and ADF. (I posed the question to one young “gay” activist, Alex Blaze, HERE, and received no response.) [Homosexual activists] Wayne Besen/Evan Hurst/Joe Jervis/Jeremy Hooper/Rea Carey/[insert GLBT activist here]: take up the challenge! Yes, we’re all “haters” now (except the likes of Schwartz, despite his bully tactics and GLN’s ugly, anti-Christian bigotry). And just like ObamaCare is padding the rolls of the IRS to keep Americans in “compliance” with government “health” mandates, perhaps the SPLC needs an infusion of Obama stimulus funds to expand its already large staff and huge budget to accommodate its “reporting” on the ever-expanding “hate” network. Robert Gates seems more concerned with satisfying President Obama's pro-homosexual views than following the existing 1993 law banning homosexuals in the military, says leading expert Elaine Donnelly. Congress has the final say, she says. The following news release was put our Thursday by the Center For Military Readiness, based in Livonia, Michigan [to support the Center’s unique mission and CMR President Elaine Donnelly’s excellent work, go HERE]: ___________________________________ CMR Press Release: Continued Confusion About 1993 Gays-in-Military Law In response to an announcement by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates regarding the results of a 45-day review of the so-called “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy, Elaine Donnelly, President of the Center for Military Readiness, issued the following statement: “Secretary Gates has sent a confusing message to the troops. By applying new regulations applying only to the small number of discharges that occur for homosexuality, he has invited noncompliance with the extant 1993 law, Section 654, Title 10, in future cases and those that are still pending.” “Instead of taking the opportunity to clarify the meaning and intent of the law, Secretary Gates seems to be condoning unwarranted delays. Local commanders who are trying to do their duty by enforcing the law deserve support, not second-guessing by higher-level officials who seem more concerned about President Obama’s views than they are about the terms and intent of the law.” Read the rest of this article » AFTAH’s LaBarbera Challenges SPLC’s Potok to a ‘Debate on Hate,’ Asks to Reverse ‘Hate’ DesignationFriday, March 26th, 2010Questions whether SPLC has ever investigated gay activist “hate” and homosexual assaults on churches;
![]() Will Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, debate AFTAH about its politicized definition of "hate"? Will the SPLC begin monitoring homosexual activists' "hateful" assaults against people of faith? Folks, I sent a version of the following letter to Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, who snidely wrote us to correct a mistake that appeared in Matt Barber’s column on the AFTAH website poking fun at the SPLC’s classification of AFTAH as a “hate” organization. In a subsequent response to my letter, Potok apologized for his initial snide missive, disagreed with AFTAH’s characterization of the SPLC action as “reckless,” and said that his organization has “written very critically” about (left-wing) eco-terrorists and black nationalist groups like the New Black Panther Party. However, in his short reply, Potok offered no example of his group exposing extremist homosexual organizations like ACT UP. He wrote, “At the moment, I’m really swamped with work and won’t respond to all you’ve written, but I’m interested.” We look forward to a detailed, point-by-point response to our letter and will notify you if Potok takes up my proposal of a public “Debate on Hate” and the SPLC’s jaundiced “hate” classifications. Links and photos have been added that were not in my original e-mail to Potok. — Peter LaBarbera, www.americansfortruth.org ________________________________ Mark, Thanks for writing, snide jabs aside. Matt Barber caught the mistake yesterday and I neglected to enter it until today. (I apologize for the error; it is now fixed.) First of all, I must admire your chutzpah as I think you are not in a very good position to be lecturing anyone on accuracy under the current circumstances! What the SPLC has done in smearing AFTAH — and that’s exactly what you have done by erroneously classifying us as “haters” — is a grave disservice to truth and honest discourse. I urge you personally as SPLC’s director to reflect on this misguided action and reverse it. I would also ask for a public apology. Am I and Americans For Truth opposed to homosexual behavior and any activism seeking to advance homosexuality/bisexuality/transsexuality as normative and acceptable? Absolutely. Do I “hate” people? Not at all. In fact, I am constantly responding to (often vicious) emails from pro-gay activists who write in to AFTAH via our website with my message that we can disagree without hating each other. That is the essence of civility and true tolerance, IMO [in my opinion] — i.e., tolerating opinions with which we disagree while continuing to aggressively debate our viewpoints. As you know, we have clearly and repeatedly condemned Fred Phelps of “God Hates Fags” notoriety — whom I regard as a buffoon whose antics do much more to help the “gay” side than the conservative side. If you did your research, you would know that I have also noted the stark difference between evangelical Christians’ approach to homosexuality (opposition to homosexual practice and to “gay” advocacy/laws, yet called to lovingly reach out with the Gospel to homosexuals and care for their souls) — in contrast to radical “fundamentalist” Muslims (death penalty for practicing homosexuals, including pushing them off high buildings).
