In a full-page ad in today’s Washington Times, a group of conservative leaders say they are deeply troubled by the direction of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) – which opens on February 10. Click HERE to see the ad as it appears in today’s Washington Times” (including a list of signers).
Vision America President Pastor Rick Scarborough, who initiated the project, noted: “For the third year in a row, GOProud will be participate in CPAC. GOProud seeks repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, without which judges will ultimately legislate homosexual ‘marriage.’ Last year, GOProud advocated for homosexuals serving openly in the military, which will devastate our armed forces and sacrifice unit cohesion on the altar of ‘inclusiveness.'”
Some of the most prominent conservative groups and leaders are boycotting CPAC, due at least in part to the presence of GOProud. They include American Family Association, Liberty Counsel, Family Research Council, the Heritage Foundation, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Jim DeMint and Sean Hannity.
“Ronald Reagan spoke at CPAC in 1977. But would Reagan be comfortable at CPAC 2011?” Scarborough asked. “Our 40th president spoke of conservatism’s three-legged stool, economic, defense and social (family values) issues. Remove one, and the entire structure collapses.”
Part Two of our interview with “Chaps” Gordon Klingenschmitt of the Pray in Jesus Name Project. This was pre-recorded and aired Jan. 22, 2010 on WYLL-AM 1160 in Chicagoland. This is the second of a two-part interview; click HERE to listen to Part One. AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera and Chaps discuss the next steps in the debate over “homosexualizing” the U.S. military — following the lame-duck congressional repeal of the ban against homosexual servicemembers. They discuss the prospects of Republicans in Congress making a serious move to thwart or reverse the implemtation of the new plan to open up the Armed Forces to open homosexuals. Chaps also rebuts left-wing accounts that accuse him of deceit in his public efforts as a then-Navy chaplain to “pray in Jesus’ name.”

Well, what do you know? A “Homophobia” test reported by PBS’ Frontline confirms it: two of the leading national opponents of the pro-homosexual activist agenda — Liberty Counsel’sMat Staver and Matt Barber — are not “homophobic”! (Note: we agree with them that the whole concept of “homophobia” as used by pro-homosexuality advocates and the media is problematic, overly broad and often ridiculous.) I just took the test (based on the Wright, Adams & Bernat Homophobia Scale) and will report the results next post. — Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org
From the Liberty Counsel’s radio program “Faith & Freedom,” January 12, 2011:
“Would CPAC bring in an organization specifically devoted to promoting abortion and pretend it’s conservative?
Shame on CPAC for defending the absurd proposition that one can be ‘conservative’ while embracing moral surrender – in this case the idea espoused by GOProud of the government granting ‘rights’ and benefits based on sinful sexual conduct long regarded as anathema to biblical and Judeo-Christian values.”— Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH, quoted in WorldNetDaily.com
TAKE ACTION: There is nothing “conservative” about promoting homosexual behavior in the name of “civil rights.” Contact American Conservative Union (703-836-8602) and urge them to live up to their name and stop “gaying down” conservatism by embracing pro-homosexuality activism through CPAC. (ACU has allowed the homosexual activist group GOProud to be a sponsor at its Conservative Political Action Conference, to be held Feb. 10-12, 2010 in Washington, D.C.) ACU’s offices are closed for the holiday, but you can leave them a message on their voicemail or through their website contact page.
Two of the nation’s premier moral issues organizations, the Family Research Council and Concerned Women for America, are refusing to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference in February because a homosexual activist group, GOProud, has been invited.
“We’ve been very involved in CPAC for over a decade and have managed a couple of popular sessions. However, we will no longer be involved with CPAC because of the organization’s financial mismanagement and movement away from conservative principles,” said Tom McClusky, senior vice president for FRC Action.
“CWA has decided not to participate in part because of GOProud,” CWA President Penny Nance told WND.
Part Two of my interview with Barb Anderson of the Minnesota Family Council [listen HERE]. This was pre-taped and aired December 4, 2010. Anderson discusses how comprehensive sex-ed teaches the “how-to’s” of sex in a valueless vacuum, rather than guiding students on how and why to be abstinent until marriage. And due to the ideology of “inclusion,” dangerous practices like anal sex and “rimming” (mouth-anus “sex”) are specifically mentioned in some public sex-ed curriculum. “Rimming” is a repulsive act practiced by many homosexuals, and now by some perverted heterosexuals; you won’t believe this pornographic Wikipedia entry on it [Warning: highly offensive and graphic; Wikipedia is widely used by young students]. Insanely, children are being taught on how to practice this “safely.” It is astonishing that America went from teaching children the Bible in government schools to now instructing them about various disease-producing perversions — to be practiced in heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or transgended relationships (with no judgments allowed as to which is normal or superior). And then we wonder why America is sliding downhill morally. Part Three of the Anderson interview will air Dec. 18 due to a scheduling delay. – Peter LaBarbera, www.aftah.org

Here is Part Three of our interview with Pastor Ken Hutcherson — the keynote speaker at AFTAH’s annual fundraising banquet Saturday, Nov. 13. This aired on Oct. 23. (Click HERE to listen.) Hutcherson describes how he was harassed by pro-homosexual activists after he took a stand against the promotion of homosexuality in local schools. Death threats and vandalism in his neighborhood — this is what happens to a man who takes on the “tolerance” movement to normalize homosexuality. But “Hutch” remains undeterred and says effective pro-family advocates are known by their enemies. Hutcherson also discusses how his church would treat unrepentant homosexuals. Go to the AFTAH Radio Hour Archive page HERE for Part One and HERE for Part Two to listen to the other two segments of this interview.

Two men or two women cannot get "married" truthfully before God any more than they can produce a child on their own. Homosexual "marriage" may be legal in some states and nations, but it will always be immoral in the eyes of God. This graphic was adapted from the website of "gay" blogger Jeremy Hooper (pictured at right; www.goodasyou.org).
The Manchester Union-Leader in New Hampshire — which has a long and storied history of defending conservatism — has rejected publication of a “marriage” announcement for a male homosexual couple (who are going through a “marrage” ceremony today). [Editor’s Note: AFTAH always puts homosexual “marriage” in quotation marks because — although “same-sex marriage” is legal in New Hampshire — two men cannot “get married” before God any more than they can produce a child on their own.]
TAKE ACTION: The Union-Leader is now being attacked by pro-homosexuality activists. Contact the Union-Leader HERE. The following is Publisher Joseph McQuaid’s statement:
This newspaper has never published wedding or engagement announcements from homosexual couples. It would be hypocritical of us to do so, given our belief that marriage is and needs to remain a social and civil structure between men and women, and our opposition to the recent state law legalizing gay marriage.
That law was not subject to public referendum and the governor (John Lynch) who signed it was elected after telling voters that he was opposed to gay marriage. Indeed, in no state where the public has been allowed a direct vote on the subject has gay marriage prevailed.
We are not “anti-gay.” We are for marriage remaining the important man-woman institution it has always been.
While the law sanctions gay marriage, it neither demands that churches perform them or that our First Amendment right to choose what we print be suspended. In accordance with that right, we continue our longstanding policy of printing letters to the editor from New Hampshire citizens, whether or not they agree with us.”
