Richmond’s Catholic Bishop DiLorenzo Reaffirms Church Teachings on Marriage after Sen. Tim Kaine Says Church Will One Day Accept Homosexual ‘Marriage’

Thursday, September 15th, 2016
tim_kaine_hrc_speech_2016

Democratic vice-presidential candidate and former Virginia governor Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) addressed the Human Rights Campaign national dinner September 10, 2016. Kaine, who calls himself a “devout” Catholic, said he believes the Catholic Church will one day embrace homosexual “marriage”–a claim rejected by his own bishop three days after Kaine’s HRC speech (see statement below).

The following statement was released by the Roman Catholic Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo of the Diocese of Richmond, Virginia–after self-described “devout” Catholic. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Virginia), the Democratic vice-presidential candidate, said that he believes the Catholic Church will one day recognize homosexual “marriage.” Sen. Kaine made the comment in a campaign speech September 10, 2016 at the Human Rights Campaign, the world’s largest and best-funded homosexual-bisexual-transgender lobby organization.

Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo Statement on
The Catholic Church’s Teaching Regarding Marriage

“More than a year after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage, and despite recent statements from the campaign trail, the Catholic Church’s 2000-year-old teaching to the truth about what constitutes marriage remains unchanged and resolute.

“As Catholics, we believe, all humans warrant dignity and deserve love and respect, and unjust discrimination is always wrong. Our understanding of marriage, however, is a matter of justice and fidelity to our Creator’s original design. Marriage is the only institution uniting one man and one woman with each other and with any child who comes from their union. Redefining marriage furthers no one’s rights, least of all those of children, who should not purposely be deprived of the right to be nurtured and loved by a mother and a father.

“We call on Catholics and all those concerned for preserving this sacred union to unite in prayer, to live and speak out with compassion and charity about the true nature of marriage – the heart of family life.”

Sciambra Blasts San Jose Catholic Diocese for Telling Priests to Tell Homosexuals They Are Born that Way

Wednesday, July 27th, 2016

Church asserts “individuals do not choose and cannot change their sexual orientation”

San_Jose_Catholic_LGBT_Born_GayAll-Are-Welcome-Mass-2016

Folks, in some future conservative analysis, I believe it will be found that one of the greatest media and academic scams ever perpetrated on the gullible public was the “reporting” on alleged “scientific studies” purporting to prove that people are “born gay.” As we learned from Alfred Kinsey [see one of his horrific pedophile data-tables HERE], science is easily politicized because–bottom line–we humans are fallen and we try to rationalize our sin. (Kinsey struggled with perverse desires from his youth, as his biographer James Jones revealed.)

The quest for the “gay gene” has been stubbornly persistent–even after the theory fell out of favor–because so many people are so desperate to remove the “moral” element from the homosexual equation. If people are “born that way,” the thinking goes, then they are off the hook for their same-sex behavior. They are innocent and they must be accommodated by society and the law (as an oppressed minority). Note the word choice of the wayward church body in question:

“individuals do not choose and cannot change their sexual orientation”

We could write many books on the implication of that devious, exculpatory, leftist construct, “orientation” (which seems to be reserved for deviant sexual inclinations). But let’s face it: many millions of Americans think this way about their loved ones, friends and co-workers caught up in homosexual sin. And they won’t change their minds regardless of the demise of “gay gene” theories–because it matches our postmodern (post-Judeo-Christian) zeitgeist that puts feelings above reason and has little use for inconvenient biblical truths. For more on this, see this excellent 2001 essay by Dr. John Finnis, “What the Church Teaches about Homosexual Inclinations.”

Unfortunately for LGBT ideologues and their straight, liberal allies, including the Catholic Diocese of San Jose, the theory of genetic homosexuality is in big trouble. That is best explained in the ongoing research of New Zealander Dr. Neil Whitehead (PhD, biochemistry), author of My Genes Made Me Do It [ordering info here; a free PDF copy is available].

Below are excerpts from an important blog post by Catholic ex-“gay” Joseph Sciambra, whom I cannot wait to meet and interview for his insights, as he spent much of his life as a promiscuous homosexual. Sciambra is the author of the book, Swallowed by Satan: How the Lord Jesus Christ Saved Me From Pornography, Homosexuality and the Occult, which I confess that I have purchased but not yet read (it’s on my “To Read” list). I suggest you buy this book and read it!

VIDEO: Good for Michael Voris – Leaves Homosexual Sin Behind – Earning ‘Gay’ Activist Ridicule

Tuesday, July 12th, 2016

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.”–Jesus Christ, in the Gospel of John (15:18)

By Peter LaBarbera

It would be quite an understatement to say that defectors from homosexualism–especially those who choose God over ‘gayness’–are not treated well by LGBT activists. So when somebody like conservative Catholic advocate Michael Voris acknowledges publicly that he left homosexual behavior behind, you can count on bitter and snarky “gay” militants to ridicule him as a self-loathing homosexual overcompensating for his innate sexual urges. Throw in the anti-Christianity common among “gay” liberationists and the hatred gets pretty virulent, as you can see by reading the nasty comments following a story about Voris in the homosexual “Joe.My.God” blog.

Please watch this brave video by Voris–a man for whom I have great admiration–and read the transcribed excerpt and commentary that follow after the video and the jump:

Sodomites All – Classic Joe Sobran Essay on Court-Imposed Homosexual ‘Marriage’

Thursday, May 26th, 2016
Joe Sobran, 1946-2010

Joe Sobran, 1946-2010

Folks, I generally avoid using the term “sodomites”**–it too easily plays into the hands of anti-Christians–but who am I to make a politically correct edit on the late Joe Sobran, one of the greatest conservative writers of modern times? This essay by Sobran is even more applicable today than when he penned it in 2003, following the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s creation of a newfangled “right” to homosexuality-based “marriage.”

I particularly like Sobran’s passage on liberalism:

But liberalism itself is a continual digression. Nobody can divine its next trend. Even its most profound critics, including John Henry Newman, have been unable to anticipate its particular fads. It may, or may not, embrace pedophilia next. On what principle can any perversion be ruled out?

Such is the nature of God-defying, sin-as-a-civil-right modern “progressivism.” And now the Sexual Left–having legally destroyed the meaning of marriage with the eager help of the U.S. Supreme Court–has moved on to “mainstreaming” and mandating accommodation for: (trans)gender rebels–think men with fake boobs and a penis invading female restrooms; sadomasochism; men becoming human “dogs”; and “polyamory” (anti-fidelity).

As for pedophilia, that lobby is still gearing up–mimicking the successful, manipulative tactics of the “gay liberation” movement by portraying themselves as the aggrieved “victims” of an inconvenient “orientation.” (See this “support group” for “Minor Attracted Persons,” or MAPs.) Of course, we know who the real victims are.

If only more conservatives who possessed the moral clarity of Joe Sobran! –– Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH; @PeterLaBarbera

** P.S. I will grant that “Sodomite”–linked to the abominable act that demanded God’s horrific punishment–is more accurate than “homosexual,” a 19th-Century semantic invention that itself has been declared anathema by today’s LGBTQ activists. (They prefer “gay” for men and women–which we put in quotes because it’s essentially self-serving propaganda.) Homosexual (as a noun)–though used clinically at first–came to imply a special personhood to de facto homo-sexual sinners, i.e., an innate or at least inherent–even proud!–self-identity based on his or her inclination toward same-sex deviance. Logical (and biblical) thinkers must never acquiesce to such a false identity–unless we also are prepared to label and confirm people as (inherent or inborn) liars, “pornos,” gossipers, drunks, etc., according to their besetting sinful thoughts and behaviors.

Discuss web-based intimidation network that is wearing down conservatives

Janet_Mefferd_Show_thumbnail

Salem Radio host Janet Mefferd interviewed AFTAH’s Peter LaBarbera yesterday (Jan. 20, 2015) about Fox News’ decision to request that its nightly “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier pull out as a scheduled speaker at a Legatus conference after a homosexual activist complained that Legatus, a national Catholic businessmen’s group, is “very anti-gay.” Baier himself is a Catholic, and defended his withdrawal from the event. Fox News is a major donor to a homosexual journalists group. Click HERE for the MP3 audio link to the hour-long interview [or click on the image at right].

It may be easier to listen at Janet’s website audio player: [go HERE].

The two also discussed Hollywood’s current obsession with promoting homosexuality and gender confusion.

Fox News Throws Catholic Group Legatus Under the Bus – Anchor Bret Baier Pulls Out as Speaker

Friday, January 16th, 2015

Actor Gary Sinise, beer exec Pete Coors join Baier in withdrawing as speakers from Catholic businessmen’s group after homosexual blogger says Legatus is “very anti-gay”

Fox News' pro-homosexual bias continues: Some are speculating that the "conservative" network pushed Baier to pull out of his speaking engagement at the Catholic Legatus event.

Fox News’ pro-homosexual bias continues: A homosexual activist blogger charged the Catholic group Legatus with being “very anti-gay,” and within days Fox anchor Bret Baier pulled out as a speaker at a Legatus event scheduled for Jan. 28-29.  Did the “conservative” network push Baier to pull out? In contrast to Baier (and actor Gary Sinise, who also cancelled as a speaker), Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal ignored political correctness and is fulfilling his promise to speak at the same Catholic event. Call Fox News at 888-369-4762 (ext. #3); contact Baier HERE. Commend Gov. Jindal HERE (225-342-7015). And read Peter LaBarbera’s in-depth report on Fox News’ growing pro-homosexual bias HERE.

[Update: in an email sent to a subscriber to AFTAH’s e-newsletter, Bret Baier confirmed that his employer, Fox News, had asked him to pull out as a speaker at the Legatus summit. Baier said he agreed with the decision (story upcoming….)]

[Correction: we failed to note that Cardinal Timothy Dolan of the Archdiocese of New York joined Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal as among the original “big-name” speakers who did NOT pull out of the Legatus event.]

TAKE ACTION: Liberty Is At Stake:

1) Contact Fox News and Bret Baier: Call 888-369-4762; hit ext. #3. Contact Page (no form) HERE. E-mail: comments@foxnewsinsider.com. Contact Bret Baier [web page HERE] at special@foxnews.com. Express your deep concern at Fox and Special Report anchor Baier buckling to pro-homosexual activists by pulling out of the Catholic businessmen’s group Legatus’ Jan. 28-29 conference following a homosexual activist blogger’s report that the group is “very anti-gay.” AFTAH is speculating that Fox News—which annually gives sizeable donations to a homosexual journalists association—pressured Baier to withdraw from the Legatus event.

2) Thank Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal: Call 225-342-7015 [Contact page form HERE.] Of the big-name [secular] speakers invited by Legatus, Jindal is the only one not to cave in to the “Gay Thought Police.” Commend him for honoring his commitment and not capitulating like the others:

3) Contact Gary Sinise through his foundation: [Click HERE; Sinise’s Facebook page is HERE.] Sinise does wonderful work raising support for America’s veterans and defending freedom—but what good is liberty if Americans cower before Political Correctness and morality-phobic (and often anti-Christian) “gay” activists?

4) Contact Pete Coors through Coors Brewing:  [Contact Page HERE] Coors was once known as the favorite beer of conservatives, but self-censorship and in the face of leftist pressure campaigns—rather than standing up for one’s beliefs–is hardly conservative.

5) Read my in-depth 2013 report on Fox News’ growing pro-“gay” bias“Unfair, Unbalance & Afraid: Fox News Growing Pro-Homosexual Bias” –which I wrote for America’s Survival. The report documents Fox News’ troubling drift away from providing even balanced coverage on homosexual issues like —as well as the pro-homosexual remarks of Fox News contributors like Bernie Goldberg–who wrote an awful piece saying Jesus would probably support homosexual “marriage.” Read the report on PDF HERE and in standard web (HTML) format HERE.

Fox News Throws Catholic Businessmen’s Group Legatus Under the Bus

By Peter LaBarbera; Twitter: @PeterLaBarbera

Dear AFTAH Readers,

It grieves me to report that Fox News “Special Report” anchor Bret Baier—of whom I am a fan–has pulled out of a speaking engagement for the conservative Catholic businessmen’s group Legatus–following a report by a homosexual activist blogger who labeled the organization “very anti-gay.”

Joining the Fox News “Special Report” anchor in withdrawing from the annual Legatus summit January 28-29 in Naples, Florida were conservative actor Gary Sinese and Coors Brewing Company Pete Coors. Louisiana Gov. Unlike these three men, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is honoring his commitment to address the Legatus summit [thank Jindal HERE; call him at the Louisiana governor’s office at 225-342-7015].

Legatus is a national Catholic businessmen’s organization with many local chapters across the nation, devoted to fostering “spiritual growth, formation and commitment” among its members. “Legatus” is the Latin word for “ambassador,” and the group seeks to help its members become “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:20).

The Catholic Canadian pro-family website LifeSiteNews.com, which broke the story on the Fox News/Baier/Sinise capitulations, reported this about Legatus:

Legatus, which was begun by Domino’s Pizza founder Tom Monaghan in 1987 to network Catholic business leaders, is faithful to the Church’s Magisterium and therefore upholds the Church’s teachings on all moral matters including homosexuality.

But none of that mattered to New York City homosexual blogger and GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) writer Jeremy Hooper. What concerned Hooper as a professional “gay” activist is that Legatus upholds the longstanding Catholic teachings that homosexual behavior is “intrinsically disordered” and “contrary to the natural law.” The Catholic Church Catechism cites “Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity.” Such acts “do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity,” it states. “Under no circumstances can they be approved.” Regarding marriage: “Holy Scripture affirms that man and woman were created for one another.”

Hooper’s “Good As You” web post cites two Legatus writings: one opposing homosexual “civil unions,” the other defending ex-“gay” therapy for people trying to overcome homosexual feelings and temptations. Both of Hooper’s examples align with traditional Catholic teachings, and are reproduced at the bottom of this story.

Fox: Baier “unaware” of “controversy”

Fox News issued the following statement on behalf of Baier, as reported Tuesday by the website Raw Story (note the odd Raw Story headline intended to make the Legatus meeting look extreme):

“Bret Baier has withdrawn his participation as a speaker at the upcoming Legatus Summit due to the controversy surrounding some editorial stances in the organization’s magazine,” a statement from Fox News said. “Bret accepted the invitation to speak about his book, his faith, and his son’s congenital heart disease. He was unaware of these articles or the controversy surrounding them.”

Like many conservatives, I am an avid consumer of Fox News, and a fan of Baier’s evening show “Special Report,” with its “all star panel” including Charles Krauthammer—having watched easily over a thousand episodes. However, I have also exposed and documented the growing pro-homosexual bias at Fox News—in contradiction of its slogan (repeated nightly by Baier) to be “Fair, Balanced and Unafraid.” [See my report for America’s Survival HERE.]

Why would a professional journalist like Baier be “afraid” to honor his commitment to speak at a conservative Catholic event—especially since Baier himself is conservative and Catholic? And what do these latest capitulations say about the “Gay Thought Police’s” ability to intimidate people from living out their faith or moral worldview in the Public Square.

VIDEOS: ‘Hunky Jesus Contest’ 2014 – Look How Pro-LGBT San Francisco ‘Progressives’ Celebrate Easter Sunday

Friday, April 25th, 2014

Bashing Jesus and Christians is fair game but Islam goes untouched by profane homosexual “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence”

Hunky-Jesus-2014-Bunny-Ears

GOD-HATING ‘GAYS’: A man in bunny ears attends the homosexual “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” “Hunky Jesus” contest mocking the Resurrection of Christ on Easter Sunday. Drag queen “Sisters” like this fellow have been mocking Jesus Christ and His followers for 35 years. Note that cowardly “gay” activists would never spew their vulgar hatred at Muhammed. Large crowds turn out in San Francisco every Easter Sunday for the annual, blasphemous “Hunky Jesus” event. Photos: Facebook page, “Sister Ambrosia Discordia.” Click to enlarge.

“How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long with the wicked be jubilant?”Psalm 94:3

WARNING: VULGAR & OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE

Here are two short videos (under two minutes) and some photos covering Easter Sunday’s uber-blasphemous “Hunky Jesus Contest” 2014 in San Francisco [watch on YouTube HERE]. The annual Resurrection-mocking event is sponsored by the San Francisco-based “charity,” Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. [See previous AFTAH coverage of  the “Sisters'” “Hunky Jesus” contest HERE.]

The “Sisters”–who are popular in the homosexual Mecca by the Bay and raise money for mostly homosexual- and transgender-related causes–are a bunch of (mainly) homosexual men who dress up in drag and paint their faces to appear as deviant “nuns.” As such, they mock the Catholic Church specifically and Christianity in general. Their urban popularity testifies to the godlessness, insensitivity, bigotry, and immaturity of snarky modern “progressives”–who strangely view themselves as more sophisticated than the rest of America.

The “Sisters”–spouting perverse names like “Sister Tillie Swallows” –get it? “‘Till He Swallows”: an allusion to homosexual oral sex–are now 35 years old [see their “Sistory” HERE], with “orders” in various other cities like Los Angeles and Boston.

Psalm 94:3 gives me comfort, because I know that God is just. Imagine that all these lost people who mock the resurrected Son of God on the most important date on the Christian calendar will have to answer directly to Him some day! I hope some of the “Sisters” and their fans grow up, repent, and see that Jesus Christ and the Resurrection are real, rather than fodder for raunchy “gay” double entendres–Peter LaBarbera, Americans For Truth

P.S. My tweet about how we’ll never see a “Hunky Muhammed Contest” follows the video, and under that (after the jump)  is another short video of Hunky Jesus 2014:

My tweet April  23:

This second YouTube video captures the vulgar and twisted nature of the event and also the large crowds that show up for it every Easter in San Francisco:

Is Pope Francis Naive about the Homosexual Agenda?

Friday, September 20th, 2013
Pope-Francis-Smiling

Is the pope using language that is easily exploited by the aggressive Sin Movement that calls itself “gay”? Read his full interview HERE.

Dear AFTAH Readers,

Americans For Truth About Homosexuality works closely with conservative Catholics from across the nation, indeed the world, in opposition to the homosexual activist movement. It is my experience that wherever the Catholic Church still has influence, if the Church or its leaders takes a strong stand against pro-“gay” legislation, the bills usually fail — but if Church leaders compromise on doctrine or go AWOL (public policy-speaking), homosexual activists triumph.

Having said that, I acutely recognize — from my perspective as an evangelical (who was raised Catholic) — that there has always been a “friendly distrust” or competition between ministry and the defense of morality. Between Christians who believe that the primary role of believers is compassionate Gospel outreach to lost homosexuals — and “culture war” Christians who (although also loving the Gospel) see religious traditionalists as a crucial force resisting the Sin Movement of homosexuality that so profoundly threatens our culture.

In this context we ponder the meaning and ramifications of Pope Francis’ new rhetoric on homosexuality. Below we reprint portions of an article from our good friends at LifeSiteNews — a Catholic pro-life, pro-family news site and one of the top social conservative websites in the world — on Pope Francis’ much-discussed interview released yesterday [available HERE or as a PDF document HERE]. We note LifeSite’s apprehensive take that:

“Most major media are reporting the statements [by Pope Francis] as a direct challenge to the Church’s way of operating on the moral issues. The comments are very different from those of his two predecessors.”

Yesterday, I sent out the following cautionary tweet in response to the pope’s comments — both in the new interview and a previous one — about the Church being more “welcoming” and less judgmental toward homosexuals:

Twitter_Memo-to-pope-homosexuals-boys-9-19-13

The tragic reality is that a lack of proper moral “judgments” toward and vigilance regarding homosexually-inclined priest candidates contributed greatly to the horrifying homosexual-predator crisis that has so devastated the Catholic Church. This was exacerbated by liberals such as Milwaukee’s notorious homosexual Archbishop Rembert Weakland (see my report for America’s Survival on Fox News’ pro-“gay” bias).

I dare say that a more sinister plot to undermine the Catholic Church and its reputation could not have been carried out had Satan’s earthly minions spent $100 million devising one:

  1. Homosexual men take advantage of more lax standards to enter priesthood.
  2. Homosexual priests and male Catholic school officials use their authoritative role to seduce and molest mostly male teenagers and boys.
  3. Homosexuals like then-Archbishop Weakland and their sympathizers in the Church cover up priest abuses and transfer predators to new, unsuspecting parishes, where they molest more boys.
  4. The homosexual-predator scandal blows up in the media — alienating millions of Catholics from the Church and doing untold damage to its reputation and moral, spiritual and political influence.
  5. Homosexuals and liberal allies who advocate for acceptance of homosexuality turn around and say Church is now discredited because it harbored “pedophiles.” Meanwhile, Church officials resist full disclosure of the scandal, thus perpetuating it.
  6. Lastly, “gay” activists and their liberal allies continue to insist that the male-on-boy priest abuse scandal has little or nothing to do with homosexuals — but rather was a “pedophile” or “ephebophile” (adult who is sexual attracted to adolescents) problem.

My hunch is that each and every one of those complicit Church apologists for homosexuality, like Weakland, would consider himself “more compassionate” and “more Christ-like” than “anti-gay Catholics” who have been scandalized by the homosexualist advances in their Church. Such is the arrogance of liberals. This despite the untold suffering of boys victimized by sexual deviants masquerading as pastoral guardians of others’ souls. (See Catholic writer Randy Engel’s Rite of Sodomy: Homosexuality and the Catholic Church — one of the best books ever written on homosexuality  and Leon PodlesSacrilege: Sexual Abuse in the Catholic Church [available through AFTAH; see below to order].)
