2016 GOP Platform Repudiates SCOTUS Obergefell Ruling Forcing Homosexual “Marriage” on States – Defends Religious Liberty Against LGBT Agenda

Tuesday, July 19th, 2016

“Man-made law must be consistent with God-given, natural rights,” asserts GOP’s guiding document

New Mexico photographers Elaine and Jon Huguenin were fined more than $6,000 for politely refusing to shoot photos at a lesbian commitment ceremony, due to their Christian faith. The suit was filed under New Mexico's "sexual orientation" law. They are appealing the decision. Reporters need to examine how pro-homosexual “nondiscrimination” laws and pro-LGBT corporate “diversity” policies actually discriminate against people of faith.

No Longer Free: New Mexico photographers Elaine and Jon Huguenin were fined more than $6,000 for politely refusing to shoot photos at a lesbian commitment ceremony, due to their Christian faith. The suit against them was filed under New Mexico’s “sexual orientation” law. The Huguenins appealed the decision but ultimately lost in the New Mexico Supreme Court. The U.S. Supreme Court is expected to one day hear a case that will help decide whether “gay rights” supersedes Americans’ freedom of conscience on homosexual “marriage.” The next president could pick as many as four SCOTUS justices.

The following are extended excerpts of the newly minted 2016 Republican Party Platform, with a focus on the social issues and religious freedom (emphasis ours):

We the People

We are the party of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The Declaration sets forth the fundamental precepts of American government: That God bestows certain inalienable rights on every individual, thus producing human equality; that government exists first and foremost to protect those inalienable rights; that man-made law must be consistent with God-given, natural rights; and that if God-given, natural, inalienable rights come in conflict with government, court, or human-granted rights, God-given, natural, inalienable rights always prevail; that there is a moral law recognized as “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God”; and that American government is to operate with the consent of the governed. We are also the party of the Constitution, the greatest political document ever written. It is the solemn compact built upon principles of the Declaration that enshrines our God-given individual rights and law, defines the purposes and limits of government, and is the blueprint for ordered liberty that makes the United States the world’s freest and most prosperous nation. …

In a free society, the primary role of government is to protect the God-given, inalienable rights of its citizens. These constitutional rights are not negotiable for any American. We affirm that all legislation, regulation, and official actions must conform to the Constitution’s original meaning as understood at the time the language was adopted.

Defending Marriage Against an Activist Judiciary

Traditional marriage and family, based on marriage between one man and one woman, is the foundation for a free society and has for millennia been entrusted with rearing children and instilling cultural values. We condemn the Supreme Court’s ruling in United States v. Windsor, which wrongly removed the ability of Congress to define marriage policy in federal law. We also condemn the Supreme Court’s lawless ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges, which in the words of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, was a “judicial Putsch” — full of “silly extravagances” — that reduced “the disciplined legal reasoning of John Marshall and Joseph Storey to the mystical aphorisms of a fortune cookie.” In Obergefell, five unelected lawyers robbed 320 million Americans of their legitimate constitutional authority to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman. The Court twisted the meaning of the Fourteenth Amendment beyond recognition. To echo Scalia, we dissent. We, therefore, support the appointment of justices and judges who respect the constitutional limits on their power and respect the authority of the states to decide such fundamental social questions.

Barack Obama’s Radical LGBT Legacy – An Immoral ‘Transformation’ of America

Wednesday, January 13th, 2016

Anti-Christian lobby group HRC tallies Obama’s long list of pro-homosexual and pro-transgender “accomplishments”

Another Dubious Obama LGBT "First": Barack Obama is obviously the first U.S. President to turn the White House--the people's house--into a symbol of homosexual-bisexual-transgender activism. The rainbow has been appropriated by the LGBTQ movement as the symbol of their sin movement.

Two More Dubious Obama LGBT “Firsts”: Obviously, Barack Obama is the first U.S. President to turn the White House–the American people’s house–into a symbol of homosexual-bisexual-transgender activism. (The rainbow has been appropriated by LGBTQ activists as the symbol of their de facto sin movement.) Obama is also the first president to sit for a photo-shoot for a homosexualist magazine, OUT Magazine, in its December 2015 issue.

Summary of President Obama’s Commitment to LGBT Equality [the homosexual-bisexual-transgender agenda]

Note to AFTAH readers: the following is a list of President Barack Obama’s homosexual-bisexual-transgender agenda “achievements,” produced by Human Rights Campaign, the world’s most powerful and well-funded LGBT lobby organization. [See the original HRC report on PDF HERE.] Even close followers of Obama’s socially left agenda will be surprised by the magnitude of his LGBT record. We have bolded some of the more important Obama actions–note especially #28 and #33 in which Obama undermined the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), thus accelerating the legal momentum for legalized same-sex “marriage.”

United States Ambassador for Sexual Perversion? Obama Names Randy Berry LGBT Envoy

Tuesday, February 24th, 2015
Randy Berry

Randy Berry

Folks, if we’ve learned anything from Barack Obama, it’s that there are no limits to his pandering to the homosexual and transgender activist movement. This latest development described by my Brazilian friend Julio Severo is an insult to the majority of nations around the world that choose not to celebrate the Sin of Sodom like so many liberal Americans–note I did not say all Americans–do.

Where is the Special U.S. Envoy for Adultery? Fornication? Pornography? Abortion?  I’d better be careful: I don’t want to give the Obama bureaucracy any ideas. This is neo-imperialism at its worst–rather than being a force for good in the world, America is now using its money and power to advocate for sexual immorality and gender rebellion across the globe–as we re-define “human rights” to accommodate destructive yet changeable behaviors.

If the Democrats are defeated in 2016, I would hope that the next administration will reverse actions like this, but that is far from certain to happen given the Republicans’ craven timidity on this issue. The Shining City on a Hill which Reagan invoked has turned into a Smog-covered Slum spreading moral pollution under Obama. And his shame becomes our shame until we, the citizens of this once-great nation, right the wrongs that are being carried out abroad in our name. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH.org; Twitter: @PeterLaBarbera

US Names First Global Envoy for Homosexual Agenda

By Julio Severo

The United States is naming its first international envoy for homosexual rights. This is a historic event, because no nation, even the United Nations, has ever appointed a homosexual ambassador for global homosexual rights.

Every single major news outlet in the U.S. is covering this historic event.

In a press release, the U.S. State Department said Randy Berry, an openly homosexual diplomat, will be its special envoy to promote homosexual rights. State Department Secretary John Kerry said, “We’re working to overturn laws that criminalize consensual same-sex conduct in countries around the world.”

The U.S. government’s concern is not only the more than 75 countries that criminalize homosexual activity, but also to target nations trying to resist the onslaught of homosexual groups from United States and Europe, especially because of several pro-family laws that have taken effect around the world in recent years. The Washington Post gave some examples, “Russian President Vladimir Putin signed legislation in 2013 banning ‘homosexual propaganda,’ and Nigeria banned same-sex marriage and restricted homosexual behavior, including public displays of affection between gays.”
Putin was named by The Advocate, the largest homosexual magazine in the U.S., as the most prominent opponent of the gay agenda.

Kerry says Randy Berry will help the Obama administration in its global efforts to press foreign countries to eliminate laws that criminalize homosexual activity.

According to “The Advocate,” the idea of appointing a special envoy for LGBT issues was championed by several groups, including the American Jewish World Service (AJWS) and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the largest homosexualist group in the U.S., whose co-founder, Terrance Patrick Bean, was arrested for a pederastic homosexual assault on a child last year.

In a press release, left-wing AJWS applauded the historic State Department appointment of Randy Berry as America’s first special global envoy for LGBT issues around the world.

According to its own website, AJWS is the fourth largest funder of the gay agenda worldwide. Since 2005, AJWS has invested nearly $9.5 million in global LGBT rights. Last year, AJWS provided $2.97 million to 47 organizations promoting the gay agenda in 14 countries.

If you wonder how a leftist group promoting the gay agenda is Jewish, remember that the leftist U.S. president promoting the same agenda is allegedly Protestant.

Under the Obama administration, American Embassies worldwide have flown the "rainbow flag" symbolizing homosexualism, in solidarity with "gay" activists.

America Foreign Policy Goes “Gay”: Under the Obama administration, American Embassies worldwide have flown the “rainbow flag” symbolizing homosexual activism, in solidarity with “gay” advocates. This is the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv.

According to the homosexual newspaper Washington Blade, HRC president Chad Griffin applauded the State Department.

“At a moment when many LGBT people around the world are facing persecution and daily violence, this unprecedented appointment shows a historic commitment to the principle that LGBT rights are human rights,” he said. “President Obama and Secretary Kerry have shown tremendous leadership in championing the rights of LGBT people abroad. Now, working closely with this new envoy, we’ve got to work harder than ever to create new allies, push back on human rights violators, and support the brave leaders and organizations that fight for LGBT rights around the world.”

The appointment of an openly homosexual diplomat as a LGBT envoy sends a message that the United States will remain on the forefront and leadership of promoting the gay agenda around the world. It shows also its determination of pushing back Russia, Nigeria and other nations.

Now the United States will make the world freer to adherents of homosexual acts and ideology and less free for Christians and others who do not accept homosexual depravity, including Russia and Nigeria that are trying to protect their children from homosexual propaganda.

Every single homosexual activist around the world is benefited by the U.S. move.

Every single practicing Christian is threatened by it.

I wonder what will happen to Christians like me. My book “O Movimento Homossexual” (The Homosexual Movement), published originally by the Brazilian branch of Bethany House Publishers in 1998, made Brazilian gay groups furious because I exposed that they were bringing to Brazil the gay ideology from America. In fact, many of their militants had been trained and funded in America. My exposé brought threats against me. But now, with the U.S. government strongly siding with international homosexual activists, they will receive more training and funding to advance and threaten, and Christians like me run the risk of being labeled “human rights violator” and “criminals.”

Human Rights Campaign’s Predator Problem: Founder Terry Bean, Major Obama & Democrat Fundraiser, Accused of Sexually Abusing Boy

Wednesday, November 26th, 2014

Bean gave $1 million to HRC; also founded Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund; is largest Oregon donor to Obama; envisioned and funded HRC’s D.C. headquarters building; HRC finally comments on case after five days of silence

Obama Chickenhawk Money-Man? In better days, Portland homosexual activist Terry Bean poses for a photo with Barack Obama. Bean--who was arrested for sodomizing a 15-year-old boy--was a major Democratic fundraiser who raised more money for Obama than anyone from Oregon. "Chickenhawk" is an old "gay" slang term for men who prefer sex with teenage boys (called "chicken")--as appears to be the predilection of the 66-year-old Bean.

Obama’s ‘Chickenhawk’ Campaign Contributor? In better days, Portland homosexual activist and Democratic power-broker Terry Bean is shown posing for a photo with Barack Obama. Bean–who was arrested for sodomizing a 15-year-old  boy–was a key behind-the-scenes “gay” activist who raised more campaign cash for Obama than anyone from Oregon. “Chickenhawk” is a “gay” slang term for homosexual men who pursue sex with minor and teenage boys (derisively called “chicken”)–as appears to be the predilection of the 66-year-old Bean. Kiah Lawson, the 25-year-old former boyfriend of Bean, was also arrested for sodomizing the minor boy (see arrest photos below).

By Peter LaBarbera

Folks, once in a while a story with such sordid and shocking details breaks through the leftist media’s pro-“gay” censorship to reveal the stark truth about the perverse lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender-“queer” (LGBTQ) movement. The child-sex arrest of Terry Bean–a founder of both the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund; Obama money-man; and major Democratic power-broker–is one of those cases. Below is a TV news collage– including commentary by pro-family leaders Scott Lively and Bryan Fischer–of the story of the 66-year-old Bean’s arrest last Wednesday for committing sodomy with a 15-year-old-boy.

Williamette Week reports on the charges against Bean:

“Law enforcement sources familiar with the case say Bean will be charged with two counts of sodomy in the third degree, a felony, and sex abuse in the third degree, a misdemeanor. He will be arraigned later in Lane County, where the crimes allegedly occurred in 2013.”

Human Rights Campaign, the world’s largest and best-funded homosexual lobby organization (Executive Director Chad Griffin makes more than $400,000 annually), took the time to condemn the grand jury’s non-indictment of Ferguson, Missouri policeman Darren Wilson, and celebrate the “Transgender Day of Remembrance,” among other blog posts–but has yet to post anything on its website on the sex-crime arrest of Bean, who reportedly has donated more than $1 million to HRC. Bean has been removed from HRC’s Board of Directors pending the adjudication of his case.

AFTAH will carry multiple stories on this case and the twisted reality–dating back to ancient homosexuality–of older adult “homosexual” men sodomizing teenage boys. How telling is it that HRC–which routinely and recklessly castigates conservative, Christian pro-family groups like AFTAH–took five days to issue a bland, non-condemnatory statement on its predatory benefactor Bean? His arrest puts the powerful homosexual lobby group in a very tight spot: Bean, after all, is so central to the “gay” lobby’s success that he came up with the idea of HRC constructing of a swank headquarters building in Washington, D.C. More details and photos showing Bean’s enormous clout in Democratic circles follow the video after the jump:

Here are the arrest mugshots of Bean and Lawson, the former boyfriend four decades his junior, who was also arrested on sex-crime charges involving sodomy with a 15-year-old boy at a hotel in Eugene, Oregon. Various news and commentary links about the Bean sex-crime case follow the photo:

News Links: Round-up on Terry Bean arrest:

  • Williamette Week (6/4/14; pre-arrest): “Terry Bean’s Problem: A prominent Portlander fights for his reputation after a love affair goes wrong”: “Bean says that last year he fell in love with Lawson. Bean paid him a $400-a-week allowance, put Lawson up in one of his homes and took him on international trips. Last fall, Bean brought Lawson to the White House and also introduced him to Obama…”In January, Lawson says, he discovered that Bean had a hidden camera in the smoke detector above Bean’s bed in his West Hills home. Lawson used this information to seek money from Bean, alleging that the camera captured videos ‘of at least a half dozen individuals in a state of nudity engaged in intimate acts with you.’ Lawson claims he is in more than one video.”
  • The Oregonian:  “Former boyfriend of Democratic fundraiser Terry Bean arrested on sex abuse indictment”: “Both Bean and Lawson are accused of having a sexual encounter with the same 15-year-old boy in a hotel in Eugene last year. They had arranged the encounter with the teen after meeting him via a website, investigators allege.”
  • KOIN-TV {contains video}: “Portland Gay Rights Leader Arrested in Sex Case”
  • NY Post: “Obama Fundraiser Accused of Sex with Minor”: “He’s a mega bundler for President Obama. He’s been on Air Force One. He’s shared a Christmas visit with Michelle Obama at the White House. And now he’s being accused of sex with a minor.”

Dr. Michael Brown: Obama’s LGBT Executive Order Means that ‘Sexual Rights Trump Religious Rights’

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014
Obama_Executive_Order_Signing_Ceremony-2014

President Obama signing two Executive Orders advancing homosexual and transgender “rights.” One adds “gender identity” to the existing federal nondiscrimination policy (joining “sexual orientation”). The other–addressed by Dr. Michael Brown below–compels federal contractors to abide by federal pro-LGBT nondiscrimination mandates. Obama declined to include a strong religious exemption in the latter Order. Photo: White House; click to enlarge.

The following is excerpted from an online appeal by pro-family author and advocate, Dr. Michael Brown to President Obama, in response to Obama signing an Executive Order designed to advance “gay rights”–and which is bereft of a strong religious exemptions as requested by a coalition of religious leaders. Dr. Brown–whose book A Queer Thing Happened to America is essential reading for those hoping to understand the far-reaching LGBT agenda–will be the keynote speaker at AFTAH’s banquet October 25th at Christian Liberty Academy in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This article first appeared in Charisma magazine.

President Obama, You Have Crossed a Dangerous, Unprecedented Line

9:00AM EDT, 7/22/2014 Michael Brown, Charisma, In the Line of Fire

President Barack Obama on Monday signed an executive order banning “discrimination” by federal contractors against LGBT people, allowing for no religious exemptions of any kind.

Dear Mr. President,

I write to you today as a concerned citizen of our great nation, standing as a witness against your historic actions on the morning of July 21, 2014, actions which I hope you will one day repudiate with deep remorse and regret.

I am referring, of course, to your signing an executive order Monday banning “discrimination” by federal contractors against LGBT people, allowing for no religious exemptions of any kind.

This was an outrageous act of discrimination against religion in the name of anti-discrimination—an act of bullying people of faith in the name of the prevention of bullying.

How can you, as a man who professes to be a person of faith and a follower of Jesus, throw religious Americans—in particular Christians—under the bus?

How can you attempt to force Christians, Jews, Muslims and others to violate fundamental aspects of their moral codes in order to appease a small but powerful special interest group, one that is not, in fact, suffering daily economic hardship by being fired from their jobs because of their sexual orientation or expression?

Have you forgotten entirely that our nation was founded on the concept of religious freedom?

Gary Bauer Blasts Chris Christie’s ‘Pitiful’ Non-Response on Hobby Lobby Decision

Tuesday, July 1st, 2014
Chris_Christie

Suddenly Shy? Why didn’t Gov. Chris Christie praise the Supreme Court decision on Hobby Lobby protecting religious freedom?

The following is taken from Gary Bauer’s daily “End of Day” e-mail sent out today (July 1) through his organization, Campaign for Working Families. Gary has long been one of the best thinkers and most informative writers in the pro-life and pro-family movement. Few conservatives leaders can write like Gary (or hire someone to ghost-write like him!), so if you are conservative or pro-family, I guarantee you will not regret signing up for his daily e-newsletter HERE.

Regarding Chris Christie and the Hobby Lobby SCOTUS decision, isn’t it odd that the outspoken (Republican) New Jersey governor has the audacity to play God by proclaiming that homosexuality not a sin as he signed a freedom-crushing ex-“gay” change therapy ban last year–yet he couldn’t muster up the courage to praise a critical victory for religious freedom at the Supreme Court? I’m no fan of the liberal Huffington Post, and their women-as-victims spin on Hobby Lobby is obnoxious, but they got it at least half right in this piece on Christie’s sudden shyness and craven bully pulpit politics. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

The Day After

By Gary Bauer

The left is in full spin mode after the Supreme Court struck down Obamacare’s abortion mandate. Please tell the women in your life that nothing happened yesterday that will deny them access to contraception.

The issue in this case was not contraception. Let me remind folks once again that Hobby Lobby’s insurance policy covered 16 out of 20 forms of contraception. But the owners of Hobby Lobby drew the line at the last four methods, which they believed could cause abortions. And during oral arguments, the Obama Administration actually claimed that it could force companies to pay for abortions.

The issue in this case was individual religious liberty. Consider this statement from Justice Samuel Alito’s majority opinion:

“A corporation is simply a form of organization used by human beings to achieve desired ends. Protecting the free-exercise rights of corporations like Hobby Lobby … protects the religious liberty of the humans who own and control those companies.”

Yesterday’s ruling was a major victory won by a disturbingly slim margin of one vote. Now comes the hard part of winning the debate, which will be difficult in no small measure because of the cowardice of establishment Republicans.

Barack Obama’s Doublespeak on ‘Gay Marriage’ — Now He Takes on DOMA

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

State senate candidate Obama unequivocally supported legalizing same-sex “marriage” in 1996

obama_pro_ssm.JPG

Obama Was For “Same-Sex Marriage” (and he Still Is): Above is a graphic that appeared in the Chicago homosexual newspaper Windy City Times — showing a “gay” questionnaire revealing Barack Obama’s explicit support for “legalizing same-sex marriage” [point #6] as a candidate for Illinois State Senate in 1996. Obama would later adapt his position because “strategically,” he understood that Republicans would use his radical support for homosexual “marriage” against him. Click on graphic to enlarge.

By Peter LaBarbera

Barack Obama sure has a strange way of showing his much-touted support for traditional “marriage.” On Monday, Obama’s Justice Department filed a legal brief against DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, which was signed into law by the last Democrat to occupy the Oval Office: Bill Clinton. Weeks before that, Obama’s administration had defended DOMA, setting off a flurry of protests from his gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgender-whatever allies.

DOMA — which only Congress can repeal — passed overwhelmingly in 1996 with bipartisan consensus (a mere 14 Democratic Senators voted “No”). It protects states from being forced to recognize out-of-state “gay marriages.” Its growing unpopularity among Democrats signals the near-complete moral collapse of the party of Harry S Truman, who surely would bristle at the Dems’ current overwhelming support of abortion-on-demand and homosexuality as non-negotiable, litmus-test issues.
