Former LGBTQ Individuals Say ‘Equality Act’ is Discriminatory and Fraud Prevention Act Denies their ExistenceOctober 29th, 2019Folks, this news release highlighting the emerging “Changed” Movement of “Formers”–ex-“gay” men, ex-“lesbians,” and ex-“transgender” individuals who now identify with Jesus Christ–first appeared in Christian Newswire. They will be holding a media event tomorrow (Wed., Oct. 30, 2019) on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Please visit the Changed Movement website and support this organization, and this heart-warming and most politically incorrect Christian truth movement, with your prayers, energy and gifts.–Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH.org; @PeterLaBarbera ______________________________NEWS PROVIDED BY WASHINGTON, Oct. 28, 2019 /Christian Newswire/ — “Formers” (those who no longer identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning) representing every state in the Union have selected 15 Former LGBTQ people to travel to Washington, D.C. October 28 – November 1 to address concerns about LGBTQ-focused legislation such as bill H.R. 5, which passed in the House in May, and H.R 3570, which was introduced in late June. Although dubbed “The Equality Act,” Formers understand the bill is an unnecessary concession to the false idea that members of the gay community are marginalized. In fact, LGBTQ-identifying people have always had options in how they participate in broader culture. Nothing constrains them from participating in culture on a normal level. Unlike with the African American community, who have centuries of culturally driven abuse and forced destabilization, those who identify as LGBTQ have been empowered in our modern society as scientists, literary giants, and even politicians when they have chosen not to prioritize their sexual mores. Meanwhile, H.R. 3570, dubbed the “Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act of 2019,” mirrors a similar bill proposed by California lawmakers but withdrawn by its author after heavy pressure from the state’s religious leaders, including Church United and Formers. Written by California Congressman Ted Lieu, the bill would ban conversion therapy nationwide and prohibit any advertising referencing to the ability to change or reduce sexual orientation or gender identity. The House resolution further minimizes the lives of thousands of Formers by declaring “there is no scientifically valid evidence that supports the practice of attempting to prevent a person from being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or gender nonconforming” adding that conversion therapy is “substantially dangerous to an individual’s mental and physical health, and has been shown to contribute to depression, self-harm, low self-esteem, family rejection, and suicide.” America does not need anti-discrimination laws or bans against treatment for those seeking to live out their faith biblically; we need a renewed belief in the dignity and beauty of all of humanity in its diversity. America CAN model for the world what it looks like to value one another despite our differences without government intrusion or enforcement. Bills like H.R. 5 will impact the private, public, religious, academic and government sectors. This proposed law would change the existing Civil Rights Act to redefine “sex” as gender identity and sexual orientation among the list of classes (e.g., race, color, religion, sex and national origin). There would be NO exemptions for individual believers or faith communities. H.R. 5 will empower the Federal Government to levy punishment on any individual or organization with a dissenting ideological view. It is the beginning of the end of religious liberty and free speech in America. For Formers, bills like H.R. 5 and H.R. 3570 block our rights to follow our own convictions. It enforces the false belief that one cannot change and that one has no choice but to embrace LGBTQ identity and behaviors. African American Former, Edward Byrd, who identified as Sexually Androgynous, from Maryland shared: “Honestly, my life has been changed because I was able to be open about my struggle with the LGBTQ identity. Through counseling and other avenues, I was able to process through rape, abuse and gender identity. If I had not had these options I might not be alive today! Now I am on a path of Faith and Freedom.” Latin American Luis Ruiz, Pulse Nightclub Survivor, said: “If this bill would become law, we will not be able to build our organization, Fearless Identity, that brings hope and understanding to the LGBTQ communities and the church through education and biblical teaching. We support a judgment-free environment for anyone that wants to seek change, and the freedom to do so without fear of retribution or lawsuits because LBGTQ change is possible.” African-American California Bishop Ed Smith, Zoe International, who leads scores of churches in California and the United States said,
Jeffrey McCall, a former transgender woman from Georgia, shared:
Missouri’s Amanda Smith, a former lesbian added:
Jim Domen, a former homosexual and Pastor/Founder of Church United in California, decried:

Photos and biographies of the 15 Formers are available upon request. Church United with the CHANGED Movement (changedmovement.com) are California based non-profit organizations partnering together to protect the freedoms of Former LGBTQ identified individuals who have CHANGED. In 2018, both organizations took key roles in a strategy that used personal stories to preempt the enactment of pseudo-communistic philosophical legislation in California’s and Taiwan’s governments. Recent SOGI (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity) legislation has been authored by American legislators of Chinese descent: California’s A.B. 2943 (withdrawn in August 2018) by gay Assemblyman Evan Low; and S.B. 1172 (passed in 2012 and sponsored by then CA State Sen. Ted Lieu) and H.R. 3570 authored by Representative Ted Lieu (D-Torrance). Interestingly, Low and Lieu are both of Chinese descent (Taiwan, Province of China). Church United and 5 members of the CHANGED Team (including two Former LGBTQ Pulse Nightclub shooting survivors) will be flying to Wasington, D.C. directly from their tour in Taipei, Taiwan. In Taipei, 30 formerly LGBTQ identifiied people (Referred to as Rainbow Crossers in Asia) representing 30 nations petitioned an audience at the International Federation of Human Rights Conference, October 21-25. Their admittance to the IFHR as a people group was denied. LaBarbera was outraged in responding to a clip from the CNN event in which a 9-year-old biological girl who wants to be a “boy” (with her parents’ full approval, apparently) asked Sen. Elizabeth Warren a question. The pandering Warren tells the girl that as President of the United States she would not name her Education Secretary until the girl meets the nominee and approves of the choice. Sadly, that was probably NOT the most radical exchange at the LGBTQ forum. Below is Crosstalk’s write-up of our interview: Date: October 14, 2019 Presidential Candidates Embrace LGBT Agenda Peter LaBarbera is the president of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, a non-partisan educational group dedicated to exposing the homosexual-bisexual-transgender activist agendas. On October 10th, on the eve of National ‘Coming Out’ Day, the Human Rights Campaign and CNN sponsored the ‘Power of Our Pride.’ This event was a multi-candidate, Democrat ‘town hall’ forum that addressed LGBTQ issues and featured Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Beto O’Rourke, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren and others. Every candidate involved in the event supports the ‘Equality Act.’ Peter described it as ‘…the most dangerous piece of federal legislation on the LGBTQ side ever. It would add sexual orientation and gender identity, those two phrases, into the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act.’ He went on to note that this would create special civil rights protections based upon immoral and changeable homosexual behavior and transgenderism. Jim featured a number of quotes from the event and had Peter follow up with his comments. Participants quoted included: –A 9 year old biological girl who identifies as a boy asked a question of Senator Elizabeth Warren concerning transgender safety at school. Part of Warren’s response indicated that she’s willing to allow this gender confused child to vet her secretary of education should she win the presidency. –Elizabeth Warren gave her response to a hypothetical situation where a supporter approaches her and says that they are old fashioned and that their faith teaches that marriage is between one man and one woman. –Elizabeth Warren commented on allowing taxpayer dollars to go toward transition related transgender surgery. –Beta O’Rourke agreed that religious institutions should lose their tax exempt status if they’re opposed to same-sex marriage. –Cory Booker blamed right-wing extremists, white supremacists and hate groups for the majority of the terrorist attacks on America since 9-11. Jim and Peter have much more to present, including comments from listeners, on this important election related edition of Crosstalk. More Information: British Historian Paul Johnson Describes How Homosexual Activism in U.K. Grew to Become ‘Monster in our Midst’October 8th, 2019What began in the name of compassion escalated into “powerful, clamoring, vengeful and vindictive” aberrant-sex lobbyThe following is an excerpt from The Quest for God: A Personal Pilgrimage, by Paul Johnson (pages 28-29). I must ask my fellow Americans: does this sound familiar? Note: emphasis is added, and for readability I have also broken in half the paragraph beginning, “I believe….”–Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH; @PeterLaBarbera After a section in which Johnson discusses radical, worldly movements – race, sexual, environment and health politics — that collectively present an alternative to God and traditional religion: “The radical agenda …with its strong appeal to the idealistic, as well as the materialistic, instincts of mankind, especially among young people, does constitute an alternative religion. Like any other form of humanism, it replaces God by man, and the welfare – or supposed welfare – of man, rather than the worship of God and obedience to his commandments, as the object of human existence and the purpose of society. That, of course, is its defect. The Jesuit theologian Karl Rahner once argued that it is the consciousness of God, the acceptance that there is power outside and above ourselves, to whom we owe allegiance and whose guidance we must follow, which essentially distinguishes mankind from other creatures. If belief in God were ever to fade completely from the human mind, we would not, Promethean-like, become masters of our fate; on the contrary, we would descend to the status of very clever animals, and our ultimate destiny would be too horrible to contemplate. I believe this argument to be profoundly true, and corroborated by history, and what worries me about the new radical agenda is the danger that it will dehumanise man just as the totalitarian alternatives did, though no doubt in rather different ways. But there are further, related objections. All the items on the agenda lend themselves to extremism. Take, for instance, the issue of homosexuality, an important part of the sexual politics item. There were many of us, in the 1960s, who felt that there were grave practical and moral objections to the criminalisation of homosexuality, and who therefore supported, as happened in most Western countries, changes in the law which meant that certain forms of homosexual behavior ceased to be unlawful. Homosexuality itself was still to be publicly regarded by society, let alone by the churches, as a great moral evil, but men who engaged in it, within strictly defined limits, would no longer be sent to prison. We believed this change to be the maximum homosexuals deserved or could reasonably expect. We were proved totally mistaken. Decriminalisation made it possible for homosexuals to organise openly into a powerful lobby, and it thus became a mere platform from which further demands were launched. Next followed demands for equality, in which homosexuality was officially placed on the same moral level as standard forms of sexuality, and dismissal of identified homosexuals from sensitive positions, for instance in schools, children’s homes, etc., became progressively more difficult. This was followed in turn by demands not merely for equality but privilege: the appointment, for instance, of homosexual quotas in local government, the excision from school textbooks and curricula, and university courses, passages or books or authors they found objectionable, special rights to proselytise, and not least the privilege of special programmes to put forward their views – including the elimination of the remaining legal constraints – on radio and television. Thus we began by attempting to right what was felt an ancient injustice and we ended up with a monster in our midst, powerful and clamouring, flexing its muscles, threatening, vengeful and vindictive towards anyone who challenges its outrageous claims, and bent on making fundamental – and to most of us horrifying – changes to civilised patterns of sexual behavior. Here indeed we have sexual politics in action. And, as with other alternatives to God, the result is not human happiness, but human misery. The homosexual community, as they now styled themselves, by their reckless promiscuity during the 1970s and 1980s, helped to spread among their members the fearful scourge of AIDS, a killer disease of a peculiarly horrible nature, for which there is no cure, and no immediate likelihood of a cure…. CJ Doyle Slams Massachusetts ‘Gender X’ License Bill as ‘Deranged’September 25th, 2019
The following is a September 23, 2019 release from the pro-family group Catholic Action League of Massachusetts: The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts has been in the news opposing Gender X legislation, and on the League’s call to investigate the Marty Walsh administration for using the same tactics in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade takeover which, in the Boston Calling case, resulted in the conviction of two city officials for extortion. The so-called “Gender X” bill, now before the Legislature, would allow mentally ill persons suffering from gender identity disorder to arbitrarily alter everything from their birth certificates to their drivers’ licences to their voter registration forms to reflect their gender preference. In a September 12th interview with Bob Katzen of Beacon Hill Roll Call, Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle called the proposal “a deranged idea, recklessly embraced without regard for societal harm or unpredictable consequences.” Doyle went on to say that “Science, reason, common sense, natural law and millennia of human experience all tell us that there are only two biological sexes. The very concept of gender identity is artificial, subjective and potentially open ended.” Doyle comments were published in The Enterprise of Falmouth, the Greenfield Recorder, The Somerville Times, The Somerville Weekly News, the Taunton Daily Gazette, Wicked Local Medway, Wicked Local Plainville, and Wicked Local Shrewsbury. LISTEN: ‘Drag Syndrome?’ — LaBarbera, Mefferd Discuss Cruel LGBTQ Exploitation of Men with Down SyndromeAugust 21st, 2019AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera appeared yesterday on the American Family Radio show “Janet Mefferd Live” to discuss the disturbing news that “Drag Syndrome” — a “drag show” featuring men with the genetic disorder Down Syndrome — is coming to Grand Rapids, Michigan. Listen to Mefferd’s interview with LaBarbera HERE. Read about the perverse “disability art” coming to Grand Rapids HERE (a WBCK-FM puff piece) or — on the conservative news site LifeSiteNews HERE. In the interview, both LaBarbera and Mefferd agreed that the U.K.–based “Drag Syndrome” cruelly exploits Downs adults, whom the former described as possessing an innocence that should never be manipulated. LaBarbera’s younger brother has Down Syndrome. Amazon Bans Works of Joe Nicolosi and Ex-‘Gay’ Testimonial Books–Caves to LGBTQ Activist CampaignJuly 8th, 2019 Folks, we find ourselves in a political/cultural universe in which Western leftist and LGBTQueer activists are playing cut-throat, power politics with information and speech itself. They are pressuring politically correct corporations to essentially block biblical conservatives from engaging in the modern Public Square. And they usually succeed. The latest outrage in this regard is Amazon’s capitulation to a British “gay” fanatic to stop selling the published works of the late Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, who popularized the notion of “Reparative Therapy” to help people overcome unwanted homosexual attractions and gender confusion. See an uber-biased NBC story on Amazon’s cowardly action HERE, and my 2017 LifeSite article on Dr. Nicolosi after his untimely death HERE. See Rod Dreher’s response in The American Conservative, and a Facebook petition to Amazon by the ex-gay group Voice of the Voiceless to reverse its decision HERE. (Note the deep irony of an anti-censorship petition being staged on the Left-dominated Facebook, which has taken down AFTAH’s and my (Peter LaBarbera) FB pages in the past and routinely bans or “jails” conservatives.) The following is an excellent piece by my friend Dr. Michael Brown on the Amazon story–although I think it would take a massive amount of pushback for this mega-corporation to reverse itself and reinstate the ex-“gay” books because that would then touch off the wrath of LGBTQ activists. That’s because–let’s face it–leftists are far more adept at and committed to pressure-politics than religious conservatives: _______________________________________ Will Amazon Ban the Bible Next? By Dr. Michael Brown, first published 7-5-19 on CharismaNews In a very disturbing move, Amazon has removed the books of Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, the psychologist whom critics have dubbed “the father of conversion therapy.” In other words, for claiming that sexual orientation is not innate and immutable, and for claiming that change is possible, Dr. Nicolosi’s books must be banned. This leads to the logical question: Will Amazon ban the Bible next? There is no hyperbole here. After all, it is the Bible that condemns same-sex relationships, and the Bible that speaks of those who once practiced homosexuality but do so no more (see 1 Cor. 6:9-11). These people, today, would be known as “ex-gays.” And it was Dr. Nicolosi’s life work to help people with unwanted same-sex attractions. Why, then, should Amazon ban his books but continue to sell the Bible, which provides the theological underpinnings for Dr. Nicolosi’s scientific work? After all, gay critics of the Bible refer to the so-called “clobber passages,” referring to verses which have been used to speak against homosexual practice. If these verses, then, have brought such harm to the gay community, why shouldn’t the book containing these verses be banned? Not only so, but there are numerous books on Amazon written by ex-gays, sharing their wonderful stories of transformation. Will their books be banned next? And what about the books that come to different scientific conclusions than the LGBT activists and their allies? And the books that challenge the goals of LGBT activism in society? And the books that reiterate the Scriptural prohibition of same-sex relationships? Will those books be banned next? What makes this especially frightening is that it appears that one man, Rojo Alan, based in England, was responsible for getting the books removed. As reported on Pink News, at first, after sharing his concerns in writing, he got no response from either Amazon or the British outlet, Wordery. But after he posted his concerns on Facebook, he got an immediate response from Wordery, which quickly pulled Nicolosi’s writings. Amazon, however, claimed that the books did not violate their guidelines. Alan explains that “since then, I had been working on getting these books pulled. I contacted Amazon regularly to speak to them about the books, about how unethical they are.” He “used social-media sites to ask people to leave bad reviews of the books, and also began researching the ways in which they violated Amazon’s rules of publishing.” And, he continues, “Once I gathered everything I went back to Amazon and I threw all the information I had at them in several conversations. Yet I was given the same ‘we will refer this to the relevant team.'” Not long after this, the books were removed, and Alan was moved to tears. Of course, I could produce scores of testimonies from former patients of Dr. Nicolosi who were greatly helped by his counsel. Some experienced profound changes in their attractions. Others were freed from shame and self-harm. That’s why he remained in demand until his sudden passing in 2017. Why don’t these voices matter? I could also produce literature from liberal psychologists like the lesbian activist Dr. Lisa Diamond, who argues strongly that sexual orientation is fluid. But that is not the real issue here. The issue is one of banning books that violate certain guidelines, in this case, guidelines created by LGBT activists. Amazon is now playing a very dangerous game of censoring that which is not politically correct. Where will that lead next? Amazon carries thousands of books (perhaps, several hundred thousand books) that many readers find harmful and distasteful. Amazon carries a staggering array of material that offends many buyers or raises serious concerns among others. There are books that encourage behaviors I believe are destructive. There are books and other materials that attack and mock ideologies which are sacred to me. Should Amazon ban these books too? Should Amazon ban books encouraging atheism and mocking the Bible? Or, conversely, should Amazon ban books challenging Darwinian evolution? Should Amazon ban books that encourage sexual experimentation and the casting off of conservative morals? Or, conversely, should Amazon ban books that decry the dangers of legalized marijuana? Should Amazon ban books that lead people into religious cults? Or, conversely, should it ban books that help people get out of these cults? Should Amazon ban books that provide unhealthy food recipes? Or, conversely, should it ban books that encourage healthy eating and potentially “fat-shame” people? To repeat: Amazon has crossed a very dangerous, precarious line. It needs to make an immediate about-face, admitting its error and making Dr. Nicolosi’s books available again. The readers can decide what to buy and what not to buy. It’s one thing if a book encouraged illegal, life-threatening behavior, as in a terrorist’s manual for making a bomb. It’s another thing when a book, written by a respected psychologist, is banned because it violates LGBT sensibilities. Is this also a fruit of Amazon working with the notoriously left-leaning SPLC? I have been a long-term Amazon customer, purchasing tens of thousands of dollars of books from them over the years, along with everything ranging from computers to headphones to random household items. As an author, I also recognize the importance of selling books on Amazon and getting good reviews written. And for me, personally, Amazon’s customer service has been second to none. All the more, then, do I appeal to Amazon: please set this right. We know Jeff Bezos supports the LGBT cause, and that’s his prerogative. But when political leanings influence censorship decisions, we move a step closer to burning books in the streets. Amazon, please reverse your course. _____________ Get Charisma News: Video: Rally to Repeal Obergefell v. Hodges and SCOTUS-Imposed ‘Gay Marriage’ — LIVESTREAMJune 25th, 2019_________________________________ Folks, on the eve of the celebration of our Declaration of Independence, I can still say that our United States of America is the greatest country on earth. Where but in the USA could citizens have the freedom to go right up to the steps of the highest Court in the Land and speak Truth–the most politically incorrect, biblical truth utterable these days–with the full protection of liberty guaranteed by our Founders’ ingenious First Amendment?! That’s exactly what we did June 26–blacks and whites, men and women, young and old. We gathered in D.C. to mark the fourth anniversary of the immoral and unconstitutional Obergefell v. Hodges ruling by which the Supreme Court effectively imposed homosexual “marriage” on the nation. That infamous and arrogant decision claimed that “sexual orientation” was “immutable,” and yet in our small group there were four people who testified to having come OUT of homosexuality and/or gender rebellion (transgenderism) through the power of Jesus Christ. Most Americans don’t know it but state-sanctioned “gay marriage” in America was built on a lie–perhaps the biggest Big Lie emanating from the cunningly deceitful LGBTQ movement: that “being gay” (or trans, or bisexual, or “pansexual” or [INSERT YOUR DEVIANCE HERE] is “who you are,” innate and unchangeable, like race. It must be true because retired Justice and Obergefell author Anthony Kennedy said so, right? But Kennedy was dead wrong and espousing a politically convenient fiction, as transformed lives like Stephen Black, Laura Perry, Grace Harley and Doug Mainwairing testified at our event. Please take the time to watch our rally below. God willing, we will be back in front of the Court next year. Below is the Livestream video of the entire rally; it starts just after the 5:00 mark; some timed highlights of the speakers are found below the video and after the jump.–Peter LaBarbera, Americans For Truth; Twitter: @PeterLaBarbera Legal Gay ‘Marriage’ Was Built on a Lie: Ex-‘Gays,’ Pro-Family Leaders to Rally Against Obergefell and Fake (Same-Sex) ‘Marriage’ June 26 at Supreme CourtJune 13th, 2019_________________________ They Have the Media. They Have the Power. They Have the Money. But We Have the Truth.
When: Wednesday, June 26, 2019, 10:30 AM – the 4th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s unconstitutional, immoral and tyrannical Obergefell v Hodges ruling imposing same-sex “marriage” on America. Where: Directly in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, 1 First Street NE, Washington, D.C. For More Info: Contact Americans For Truth at americansfortruth@gmail.com or 312-324-3787. Or contact Brad Wallace at connops@yahoo.com. Four years ago, on June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court arrogantly imposed homosexual “marriage” on the nation – overriding amendments and laws in more than 30 states protecting marriage as between a man and a woman. Join concerned citizens testifying to the tragedy of this evil ruling by 5 unelected Justices. Some of our speakers once considered themselves “gay” or “transgender”—and will discuss how Obergefell was based on a lie: that homosexuality, like race, is unchangeable. Come hear their powerful testimonies! 2019 is also the 50-year anniversary of the anti-cop “Stonewall Riots” in Greenwich Village, New York that launched the destructive, in-your-face “gay” revolution in the USA. We will also be speaking out against the so-called LGBTQ “Equality Act” (HR 5)—which would enshrine immoral homosexual lifestyles and gender confusion (transgenderism) in America’s landmark Civil Rights Act. The “Equality Act,” if ever signed into law, would be used by leftist activists as a legal bludgeon to sue and bully Americans and people of faith for not supporting the LGBTQ agenda, including “gay marriage.” It would also codify “transgenderism” into federal civil rights law—thus enforcing the “trans-insanity” of biological men using female locker rooms and restrooms, and biological males being allowed to compete (and win) in female sports events, merely because they identity as trans “women.”
Speakers (as of 6/22):Stephen Black, former homosexual, First Stone Ministries Jonathan Alexander, senior counsel for governmental affairs, Liberty Counsel Guyla Mills, Christian advocate; led fight for Nebraska DOMA (Defense of Marriage Amendment); Sponsored by Americans For Truth, Center For Morality, Conservative Legal Defense and Education Fund, First Stone Ministries, AFA of Pennsylvania and the Repeal Obergefell Coalition. |
