I saw this in a tweet from Stephen Black, who like few others can confirm that what lesbian writer and activist Camille Paglia says below is correct–as Stephen overcame homosexuality in his own life. [Black is executive director of First Stone Ministries and sits on the Board of Restored Hope Network.] Paglia, author Sexual Personae: Art and Decadence from Nefertiti to Emily Dickinson, has made a career of irritating feminists and the Left, and being an intellectual bomb thrower. In a quote from the book (touted by NAMBLA) opining on pederastic “man-boy love,” Paglia writes: “I feel free to protest that men today are pilloried for something that was rational and honorable in Greece at the height of its civilization.” While as a Christian and a conservative I am not always in Paglia’s corner, she is spot on below. –– Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH

1) It’s always about the behavior, stupid. No, I’m not calling you stupid. This is a variation on the political slogan regarding voters’ motivations: “It’s the economy, stupid.” What we can observe and what we can analyze is behavior: we cannot decipher people’s thoughts. “Orientation” is a self-serving homosexual activist construct. It is homosexual *behavior* that is destructive, unnatural and spreads disease, e.g, the direct connection between male homosexual behavior and HIV and syphilis. People change their behavior all the time. That must be our focus.
2) Homosexuality is what you do, not who you are. (Gary Glenn, Michigan pro-family legislator)
3 Defending historic Judeo-Christian morality is not bigotry or “hate.”
3a) Corollary: Those who hate Truth, call Truth “hate.” (origin unknown)
3b) Corollary: To label the defense of biblical and moral truth “hate” is itself hateful.
3c) Corollary: There are few groups as hateful and intolerant as LGBTQueer activists.
3d) The people who are quickest to falsely charge others with “hate” are often the most hateful activists in society.
4) Apply the “Sexual Sin Substitution Test” for Moral Clarity: Substitute another sin for the word *gay* in any debate, discussion or media story about homosexuality and see if it makes sense, biblically-speaking. Also apply it: “sexual orientation,” “homophobia,” “transgender,” etc. (You can also substitute a non-sexual sin.) Most of modern thinking in the culture, politics and the Church fails this Substitution Test. For example, when was the last time you heard a major Christian leader apologizing to pornography-users and porn activists–as Southern Baptist leaders recently did to homosexuals. Here in Chicago, “progressive” Christian Andy Marin takes this to an extreme with his Marin Institute’s “I’m sorry” campaign–holding signs with that message at the city’s annual debauched homosexual Pride Parades.
S-S-S Test applied: There are no “Adultery Pride Parades.” Nobody gets accused of being of being an *incest-phobe.* I’ve never heard a guy appeal to his *lustful orientation.* There are no Porn-using Republicans groups that draw the support of leading conservatives and GOP politicians (like the homosexual activist Log Cabin Republicans). And the president doesn’t make official declarations and speeches celebrating annual *Fornicators Pride Month.*
6) Don’t deny Jesus Transforming Power: Every person ever born, except Jesus Christ, has or had a sinful “orientation.” (Jeremiah 17:9) To deny that we are sinners is to deny God. To deny that homosexual behavior is a sin is to deny God’s Word, the Bible. To deny that God can help people overcome the sinful pull of homosexuality is to deny Jesus Christ and His transforming power.
7) Never concede language to LGBTQ revolutionaries. Deconstruct “Gay-Speak”–because he who controls the language controls the debate: When you hear *Equality* think radical, government-imposed egalitarianism. *Equality* has become the politically correct buzzword for a leftist social agenda that eliminates natural distinctions between man and woman. LGBTQueer “equality,” so-called, undermines historic behavioral and moral, biblical normal norms by promoting sexual perversion and extreme gender confusion and rebellion as *civil rights.*

HUMAN SMEAR CAMPAIGN: Who is that shadowy figure? A mafia don? An ISIS terrorist? A drug kingpin? Folks, the notion of what constitutes “hate” has become highly politicized. We will have more on the Human Rights Campaign’s deceitful and comically over-the-top report, “The Export of Hate,” which prominently features yours truly–complete with an ominous-looking, blackened graphic of my face designed to cast me as a shadowy figure–in upcoming posts. Take a look at that photo–yes, that’s me, according to the malicious activists at HRC, who apparently must exaggerate and contort their opposition to fit it into their jaundiced redefinition of “hate.” Anyone who knows me wouldn’t recognize me from that graphic–and while I’m a lot of things, a sinister hatemonger isn’t one of them. I am generally an upbeat, affable guy. I love God and I love people, and I want them to come to the knowledge of my Savior, Jesus Christ, so they can find forgiveness and draw close to God.
Please note that in the post-Floyd Corkins world (Corkins was thwarted in a potentially murderous attack on Family Research Council), the ongoing effort to paint pro-family advocates like me as horrible haters on a par with the KKK could incite a violent and even deadly attack against us by a homosexual zealot.
For the record, I enthusiastically stand behind my quotation–on the Alan Colmes Show Jan. 7 of this year–provided by the report as evidence of my supposed “hate.” Colmes had pressed me on whether children were better off in single-parent households or homosexual-led households, to which I responded (this is the excerpt taken from the HRC report):
“Kids would ‘be better off in a single-parent household…because you’re not modeling homosexual behavior. When you have two men raising a young child, that child grows up learning, basically, dysfunction and a sexual perversion as normality.'”
If criticizing intentionally motherless and intentionally fatherless homosexual-led households is hateful, then surely most of the world is hateful! The LGBT Lobby’s campaign to portray the fervent defense of historic, Judeo-Christian teachings on sex and marriage as Hate, Bigotry & Homophobia–Big Gay Inc’s top three slanders against people of faith and morals–is itself profoundly hateful and bigoted. But we should expect such calculated smears from a Sin Movement that is essentially engaged in a political and cultural war against Nature and Nature’s God. The HRC Is Inciting Fear and Hate

The pictures are dark and ominous, the charges chilling: “There exists a network of extremists … [who] spew venomous rhetoric, outrageous theories, and discredited science.”
Just who are these evil people, and what are they doing?
According to the Human Rights Campaign, the world’s largest gay-activist organization, this “network” consists of American, conservative Christian leaders “who are working tirelessly to undercut LGBT people around the world at every turn.”
“To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the Lord is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.” — Jeremiah 6:10
Spending time reading Scripture (and I don’t spend near the time I should), helps one gain perspective on what truly ails the United States of America. Of all our problems, America’s godlessness and our defiance of biblical Truth (coupled with biblical illiteracy) is our most serious. In many quarters, we have moved from apathy toward the Word of God to utter contempt for it (think: “gay pastors”). We think we’re smarter than God, but we’re not, and our foolish pride will bring us to ruin if we don’t humble ourselves as a nation and repent.
Our national immorality is merely a symptom of a much deeper problem: our rebellion against God. Any nation that glorifies sin tempts God’s holy and righteous judgment. But the very ideas of sin and judgment are ridiculed by the secularists (on Left and Right) who have gained considerable sway over our politics and culture in the U.S. But look back in American history: our leaders feared God and called Americans to repent. (See President Abraham Lincoln’s1863 Proclamation “Appointing a Day of National Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer”; can you even imagine Obama doing that?)
Here is a photo from Iowa by Markel Peters. Isn’t it beautiful? Consider it a representation of God and Country. The day (April 3, 2009) that homosexual “marriage” (so-called) was imposed on the people of Iowa — smack in the middle of America’s heartland — was a huge victory for those waging war against godly values (and hence against God) in our nation. Linking the divine institution of marriage to the perversion of homosexuality, and then pretending that these “unions” can achieve God’s blessing, is nothing short of blasphemy on steroids. Domesticated Sin is still sin. No wonder the God-defying Left was ecstatic to see such a uniquely “queer” agenda take hold in the Midwest, once known for its biblical ethos and common sense. As with other issues, the homosexuality debate often pits Urban versus Rural America. Rural America possesses wisdom, tradition and respect for the Bible — while Urban Liberals (and Libertarians), with their haughty irreverence and “tolerance” for radical sexual and gender ideologies, fancy themselves open-minded sophisticates. (Of course, experience tells us that left-wingers and homosexual activists are among the most intolerant and close-minded of all people — witness their irrational and hateful reactions to happy ex-“gays” — but that’s another story.)
Modern liberalism is a “religion,” but one whose “priests rule by their own authority,” not God’s — and its practitioners (both secular and religious) “love it this way” (Jeremiah 5:31). On the homosexual front, a vast array of Religious Left activists are now promoting “gay marriage” and the acceptance of homosexuality as not sinful and even a moral good. Evil is repackaged as good (Isaiah 5:20) as we are told that homosexual “orientation” is a “gift from God” (see my “Satan’s Talking Points” piece). I love American ingenuity, but not when it is applied to rationalizing sin.
How do we respond? Christians must lay hold of the authority of Scripture and preach it to a nation of sinners who are so distracted and out of touch with God that they are ignorant of their own peril. The antidote to pride is going back to biblical basics, preaching the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, the “hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). The antidote to secular cynicism and hate is the Love of God, embodied in the same Christ who requires our humility to accept His gift and be saved:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Just like the corn that comes up year after year in America’s Heartland, we too will reap what we sow as a nation. Christians who are sold out uncompromisingly to biblical truth may emerge as a small minority in this country, but they will be the only minority that holds the key to the restoration of our great nation. — Peter LaBarbera, AFTAH; americansfortruth@gmail.com
