Excerpted from
…The revised Montgomery County Public School curriculum — unveiled last month after months of revision work — has elicited new complaints from evaluators. Among the criticisms are concerns that gay students receive no specific information from a video on condom usage.
“It’s important to say something for those students so they have the information so they can stay safe,” said Jim Kennedy, co-founder of Teach the Facts, a coalition of Maryland parents and supporters of a gay-inclusive sex education curriculum.
Conservative groups, meanwhile, counter that the district should make no effort to “normalize anal sex.”
Dr. Ruth Jacobs of Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum said the curriculum should include a 2005 U.S. Surgeon General’s statement that “anal intercourse is simply too dangerous to practice.”
“The lesson normalizes oral and anal sex by presenting them without discussing their risks,” she said. “We should not normalize anal sex. Anal sex is risky behavior.”…

Excerpted from Ex-coach Receives 21 Years for Sexual Abuse, by Todd Ruger, published Sept 20, 2006, in (Southwest Florida) Herald Tribune:
…Although the abuse happened years ago, the emotional wounds seemed fresh for the first victim who testified Tuesday. The Herald-Tribune does not publish the names of sex abuse victims without their permission.
That man, age 40, recalled that he was the No. 1 seed at a state swimming meet. The night before the meet, in Gainesville, LaMorte forced the victim to stay in his hotel room.
LaMorte abused him that night. Emotionally distressed, the swimmer’s dream of a state championship ended when he was disqualified for twice starting too soon.
“And I never swam again,” the man said.
The man said LaMorte would pull him out of classes to abuse him in the locker room. The victim said he never fought back or quit the swim team because he “didn’t know how to.”
Staring at LaMorte, the victim said he suffers alcohol abuse, has been violent and has strained relationships with his children…

Excerpted from Coming To A High School Near You, by Amber Wojcik, published Sept 16, 2005, by Orthodoxy Today:
[Speaking of The Laramie Project, a play based on the murder of Matthew Shepherd]
…So here we go again. More tolerance, acceptance, and diversity - the holy writ of modern, post-Christian America. If Ms. Staplin is so keen on teaching her students “diversity and acceptance”, then how about a play about the life and beliefs of Columbine student Cassie Bernall who was shot for saying she believed in God? Her murderers weren’t particularly tolerant either.
The truth is that The Laramie Project is not really about diversity and acceptance. It’s about normalizing the homosexual lifestyle. The more kids hear about homosexuality (as if they aren’t sexualized enough these days), the more normal it seems. The gay lobby knows this. That’s why there is such a relentess public relations push for gay rights in all areas of public life…

Excerpted from Surveys Reveal Sex Practices of Homosexuals, published Sept 15, 2006, by Agape Press:
…A survey by The Advocate, a homosexual magazine, revealed that promiscuity is a reality among homosexuals. The poll found that 20 percent of homosexuals said they had had 51-300 different sex partners in their lifetime, with an additional 8 percent having had more than 300…
Here are the actual stats for question 9:
Homosexual males only (2294 responses)
104 or 4.5% had 0 same-sex partners in their lifetime
79 or 3.4% had only 1 same-sex partner
330 or 14.4% had 2-5 same-sex partners
264 or 11.5% had 6-10 same-sex partners
306 or 13.3% had 11-20 same-sex partners
399 or 17.4% had 21-50 same-sex partners
288 or 12.6% had 51-100 same-sex partners
276 or 12.0% had 101-300 same-sex partners
248 or 10.8% had more than 300 same-sex partners
(The total of homosexual males in this study reporting more than 50 sex partners in their lifetime is 35.4%. See The Advocate’s website for lesbian-only and combined male and female stats.)
*****
Additionally, question 14 asks Have you ever had sex with more than one same-sex partner at the same time?
Homosexual males only (2304 total responses)
No, never – 893 or 38.8%
Yes, 3-ways only – 748 or 32.5%
Yes, more than 3-ways on occasion – 663 or 28.8%
(Question: Do you suppose 61% of heterosexuals participate in group sex?)
A survey in Ireland by the Gay Men’s Health Project found that almost half of homosexuals said they were having unprotected sex.
The Advocate survey…found that 55 percent of homosexuals said they never (20%), occasionally (10%) or usually (25%) practiced so-called “safer sex.”
The actual stats for question 13:
Homosexual males only (2304 responses)
Always – 1075 or 46.7%
Occasionally – 243 or 10.5%
Usually – 651 or 28.3%
Never – 335 or 14.5%
…The fact that many homosexuals appear to live their lives in sexual overdrive does not seem to concern leaders in the movement. In an editorial from the same issue (August 15) in which the survey results were published, The Advocate said: “[Homosexuals] have been proud leaders in the sexual revolution that started in the 1960s, and we have rejected attempts by conservatives to demonize that part of who we are.”

Excerpted from Batavia Gender Controversy Persists, by Marketta Gregory, published Sept 15, 2006, in Rochester Democrat & Chronicle:
…”It seems like the administration is sweeping this under the rug and saying that any opposition is losing steam,” said Donald Shirk, the parent of a sophomore and senior pastor at Grace Baptist Church. “I strongly disagree.”
The district first heard about the teacher’s plans around Christmas; Shirk heard about it a little more than a week before school started. Since then, he and his assistant pastor, Mark Hurlbut, have been scouring medical journals, researching court cases and writing editorials saying that students shouldn’t be made to assist in the teacher’s treatment.
“This hit our community like a tsunami,” Shirk said. “Now we’re caught up in the surf.”
Other pastors have contacted Shirk, and they are hoping to start a petition to show that not everyone approves of the actions that have been taken by the school district. Also, a national group that offers free legal counsel to advance religious freedom has written to Stutzman, saying that students’ religious rights are being violated.
Attorneys working for the district wrote back to the Florida-based Liberty Counsel and explained the school’s position.
Meanwhile, the district has heard from several parents who support the teacher and what the district is doing. And even some of the people who don’t agree with sex reassignment surgery understand that the district is doing what it must do, Stutzman said, adding that gender identity disorder is considered a disability and protected under New York law.
“There are no other options in New York state.”

This post entitled Push Comes to Shove was posted Sept 28, 2006, on Independent Gay Forum by Stephen H Miller:
…Opposition to same-sex marriage is based on a visceral reaction, characterized by gut emotion rather than reason. Which is why changing minds requires persistent appeals to the heart as well as the head. Either that, or training for fisticuffs…
Peter LaBarbera responded:
Stephen, making political points by generalizations cuts both ways…
The fact is, there is a cultural debate going on, and there are extremist wackos on both sides of that debate. Your side has its share, as I’m sure you know–and I would contend that “gay” intolerance (refusal to respectfully “tolerate” dissenting views) is on the rise as “gay” power grows.
Regarding the debate, both sides employ reason and emotion, albeit from opposing worldviews…
And posed the question:
…FACT: people are losing their jobs or getting disciplined for defending traditional sexual mores or criticizing homosexuality–e.g., Matt Barber, who was fired by Allstate for writing an online article criticizing “gay marriage.” Do you defend this?…
One IGF reader applauded Christians being fired:
Yes, I defend it. People are fired on the spot if they oppose rights for blacks or other minorites in the workplace. So why should blatant homophobia be allowed?
A lengthy exchange between Peter LaBarbera and IGF readers follows –

Excerpted from Philadelphia School District Slates ‘Gay & Lesbian History Month’ for Oct., by Michael Foust, published Sept 28, 2006, by Baptist Press:
…”This shows the whole problem with gay activism and so-called gay rights,” Peter LaBarbera, president of the conservative group Americans for Truth, told Baptist Press. “If you promote so-called homosexual rights, by definition you have to undermine people’s religious rights and religious beliefs.
“If you have a gay history month, you’re basically saying, ‘This is a wonderful part of American history — homosexual history — let’s celebrate it and let’s teach the kids that this is like civil rights. Are they going to teach the role that homosexual behavior had in the onset of HIV and AIDS? Is that going to be part of the history?”
…LaBarbera, though, said there is no comparison between homosexuality and race.
“The schools are equating homosexuality with racial tolerance,” LaBarbera said. “Obviously, racial tolerance is accepted by 99.99 percent of Americans. But there’s a huge cultural divide on the issue of homosexuality, and the school district here is mimicking gay activists’ platitudes in response to this. There’s no respect for people who oppose homosexual behavior.
“They’re promoting one side of the issue to vulnerable and impressionable children. This is all about celebrating homosexuality, and there’s no consideration given for people from traditional faith households.”

Mr. McCullough suggests below that our country has a “new superhero” class of extra-marital fornicators: “Who are they? Men who engage in same-gender sexual activities!” Episcopal bishop (Vickie) Eugene Robinson for example, and, of course, the lastest: Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey.
Mr. McCullough noticed, as did many puzzled Christians, how many times Jim McGreevey invoked the name of God, stating repeatedly that his open embrace of homosexuality is part of his “path back to godliness.” There could be no greater lie.
- Jesus Himself said, “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15)…the same Jesus that affirmed God’s design for marriage (one man, one woman, for life) and condemned both divorce and adultery (Matthew 5 & 19).
- The apostle John wrote, “If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the Truth…No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him…He who does what is sinful is of the devil…No one who is born of God will continue to sin…”
If Jim McGreevey knew anything about godliness, he would be sorrowful for what he has done, and is still doing, to his wife and children — and even more grieved by what he has done against a Holy God. Instead, he exposes his innocent little daughter to his homosexual lover and introduces his lover to the world as though such a travesty is laudable.
Jude, the brother of Christ, warned that there already were and would continue to be “godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality” and who “follow their own ungodly desires…who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” He urged believers to beware, to “contend for the faith,” to “snatch others from the fire and save them,” to “show mercy, mixed with fear – hating even the clothing stained with corrupted flesh.”
Therefore, we must speak in opposition to this latest blasphemy: divorce and adultery and homosexual practice are not godliness. We must pray earnestly for Jim McGreevey and others who are living in open defiance of God’s will, calling evil “good.” And we must reach out with genuine love and compassion to those who are confused by homosexual attractions–those whose consciences are yet tender and responsive to Christ’s healing.–Sonja Dalton
The following is excerpted from Why Liberals Love Adultery, by Kevin McCullough, published Sept 24, 2006, by Townhall:
…there’s a new kid on the scene. Having done all he could to ruin the state of New Jersey – a state he took a solemn oath to protect and serve – the new adulterer that liberals all love is Jim McGreevey. Just in the last week alone he’s held hands with Oprah, and shared New Jersey rest area secrets with Matt Lauer.
He’s also invoked God’s name about three hundred times.
And now he says, “it’s all about telling the truth.”
But I’d like to know, “since when?”
