Well, what do you know? Just a few days after Americans For Truth’s Facebook page was “unpublished” due to ridiculous alleged “hate” violations [See articles in LifeSiteNews, WND and AFTAH], my private Facebook page (Peter LaBarbera) was just put on 30-day “Facebook jail” notice for the attached post advertising Linda Harvey speaking at the AFTAH banquet–way back in October 2016!
That means for 30 days from Saturday, Nov. 24, I will be unable to post on Facebook or communicate using Facebook’s Messenger service. I clicked the “appeal” button, but don’t count on the nameless, corporate bureaucrats and “social justice warriors” at this social media giant to admit that they made a mistake.
Take a look at my allegedly “hateful” FB post above. So now it’s OK for a severely gender-confused young woman (in this case, Alex Matheny) to have her healthy breasts surgically removed (essentially a medically unnecessary double-mastectomy), but it’s “hate” for us to criticize it and warn parents and youth that this is destructive and wrong? How absurd. Pro-LGBTQueer “Progressives” hate truth.

Facebook ‘hates’ conservatives (or at least their ideas): This is the notice AFTAH received Sunday from Facebook. Jason Salamone is an administrator of the AFTAH FB page. We are appealing the decision. Facebook has “unpublished” AFTAH’s or Americans For Truth President Peter LaBarbera’s pages on previous occasions.

Folks, leftist social media censorship is accelerating, because “power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” (Lord Acton). On Sunday, [Nov. 18, 2018,] Facebook took down–“unpublished”–AFTAH’s (Americans for Truth About Homosexuality) Facebook page, saying we violated their “hate” standard. We are appealing the decision but unlike Twitter, Facebook does not even let the groups they banish make a case for why the ban is wrong and should be reversed. This ban is beyond Orwellian: Facebook provides no specific examples of *how* our AFTAH posts violated their alleged “hate” standard, but you can see what sort of posts “triggered” these progressive-techie snowflakes HERE, or below.

Fake “Hate”: Above is the entry for Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH) on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) “Hate Map.” The spurious map lops conservative groups opposing the LGBTQ agenda, illegal immigration and radical Islam with fringe racist groups like the KKK. The SPLC is leading the Left’s smear campaign against conservatives, with its strategy of labeling Christian moral advocates and cultural opponents as “haters” to marginalize them in the public square.

The hate business may not be what it used to be – at least on the government level.
The Defense Department has become the latest federal agency to sever ties with the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), an Alabama-based, hard-left group whose “hate map” is being used against Christian groups.
Well, bully for the Pentagon for showing that bully to the door.
The DOD’s pullback from the SPLC was reported by the Daily Caller, which said that a Justice Department attorney stated in an email that the DOD “removed any and all references to the SPLC in training materials used by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI).”
In 2014, the FBI dropped the SPLC from its resources page after congressional staff, acting on behalf of the Family Research Council (FRC) and other Christian groups on the “hate map,” met with FBI officials to discuss their concerns, according to the Daily Caller.
Once hailed for tracking the Ku Klux Klan and other extremists, the SPLC has in recent years been wielded against mainstream Christian organizations over their defense of Biblical sexual morality and marriage.
If you say out loud that men are different from women, you just took a big step toward the “hate map.” If you say that marriage necessarily involves both sexes, bingo. And if you say that it’s not loving to steer boys into identifying as girls, you might earn an SPLC mention alongside skinheads and Neo-Nazis.
The SPLC also targets those who oppose illegal immigration and those who believe Islamic expansionism is a threat to freedom. All in all, the SPLC might want to consider changing its name to Hate, Inc….

Censored, Indeed: Visitors to AFTAH’s temporary “Censored” site, www.AmericansForTruthCensored.com, will get this “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” notice. The site was shut down by HostGator following a spurious abuse complaint threat by homosexual activist and convicted sex offender Adam Flanders.
The web hosting company HostGator continues to block the website of AmericansForTruthCensored.com, which was created after the gay-activist-inspired takedown of the main AFTAH site August 24.
The temporary AFTAH “Censored” site was taken offline by HostGator following an “abuse” complaint by Adam Flanders, homosexual activist and convicted sex offender (“Sexual Abuse of a Minor”), whose email activism led to the shutdown of the main Americans For Truth site. HostGator Caves Again: The above graphic is what a web click for MassResistance.org yielded last week after HostGator took down the organization’s website. HostGator was merely capitulating again to a deceitful “abuse” complaint by convicted sex offender Adam Flanders. MR quickly was reinstated through another web host company; go HERE. Flanders has been waging e-war against MassResistance for years.
Meanwhile, last week another Flanders complaint led HostGator to take down the website of MassResistance, a leading pro-family organization fighting LGBTQ activism. Over the years, Flanders has lost repeated battles with MR regarding content pertaining to him on their site that he wanted removed.
The MR site is now being hosted by Jared Heath’s company, Altha Technology. Heath hosts the main Americans For Truth site that was taken down for more than two weeks after Flanders targeted AFTAH for three separate posts that published his mugshot photo from an assault charge in Maine. He claimed the mugshot photo below was “copyrighted.”
After Flanders appealed to ISP (Internet Service Provider) FirstLight Fiber, with which Heath and Altha Tech. had a contract, the corporation suddenly closed down AFTAH’s entire website.
Flanders is attempting to raise funds for a legal fund “because of the anti-lgbt hate groups targeting me.” Yet he has not responded to a request from Americans For Truth President Peter LaBarbera to publicly and privately apologize to Christian singer and songwriter Paulie Heath, who he cruelly mocked in a wicked graphic distorting her face (see below). E-Bully? Adam Flanders has been waging an e-war of fraudulent web “abuse” complaints against AFTAH and other pro-family groups. He absurdly claims that the above mugshot from a 2006 assault arrest in Maine is his own “copyrighted” property.

Below is a graphic about the recent act of Facebook censorship against Americans For Truth About Homosexuality’s (AFTAH) FB page. Our commentary at right was not a part of the original deleted post. The circled portion is Facebook’s notification to AFTAH President Peter LaBarbera; it reads:
“Only you can see this post because it goes against our standards on hate speech.”
Honestly, I don’t know what triggered the left-leaning techies at Facebook (or that FB “algorithm” we keep hearing about in the news): was it the use of the word “queer,” even though I was just paraphrasing a widely used slogan by the homosexual group “Queer Nation”? (Note: almost all major LGBTQ groups and websites use that word.) Or was it that I covered up the indecent “gay kiss”?
Either way, FB’s oppressive application of leftist “hate” politics is deeply troubling. The Soviet Thought Police had nothing on these morally-challenged techies.
How can conservatives go on in the most popular social media platforms under these conditions? Talk to almost any pro-family advocate on Facebook who defends biblical sexuality and you will find similar stories of heavy-handed and often petty acts of FB censorship. Peter Huizenga, one of the finest men I have ever met (or will meet), passed away last month (May 2) and is now with his Savior, Jesus.
Peter was an amazing man, and I simply was not prepared to hear the news that he would no longer be with us. I don’t handle death very well, especially since my mother passed away suddenly 12 years ago from leukemia without us even being able to talk. So I’ve been ruminating on what I would like to write about Peter, but here is a start.
I have such tremendous respect for Peter Huizenga, from whom I learned so much. Mostly I learned COURAGE. Because after getting to know Peter over the years as an Illinois pro-family activist, I came to assume and trust that Peter would always be on the side of aggressively defending Truth. In a world gone mad, that was very reassuring.
I loved Peter Huizenga, and he loved Americans For Truth. He and his lovely wife of 50 years, Heidi, faithfully and generously supported us over the years. Peter embodied the wholesome, industrious, God-honoring roots of his Dutch ancestry. His grandfather, Harm Huizenga, immigrated to the United States from The Netherlands in 1893 at age 23 and settled in Chicago. Entering the garbage business along with other Dutchmen, his entrepreneurial spirit and hard work laid the groundwork for the Waste Management, Inc. empire that spans the world today.
Peter was a man possessing straightforward, no-nonsense moral clarity and convictions of the sort that are sorely lacking in today’s America—especially in the business community in which he and his family thrived. In an age in which corporate execs finance “gay” groups and events willy-nilly so they can check off the pro-LGBTQ box to score “diversity” points, Peter never flinched from helping those fighting this destructive, anti-Christian social revolution. What a rarity in the business world–which itself speaks volumes about why America is in such desperate spiritual and moral straits.
Another thing about Peter is that he actually cared. He never stopped working to push Illinois’ notoriously dysfunctional GOP in a more conservative direction, a thankless task if there ever was one. Peter had a brilliant mind and he was a good strategist, but most importantly he never wavered from his conviction that the organized homosexuality (“gay”) movement was against God. In that sense, we were kindred spirits. He liked how AFTAH fought the LGBTQ agenda directly and non-defensively, bereft of politically correct pretending that somehow the battle is not about homosexuality. It is.
At the last AFTAH banquet that Peter attended, two years ago at John Kirkwood’s Grace Gospel Fellowship church in Bensenville, IL, we spoke afterward outside the church. I thanked him for so faithfully standing with AFTAH, and with me. Then he said matter-of-factly, “I will never give up on God’s Truth.” I’m not quite capturing the specialness of the moment, but it was vintage Peter Huizenga. In a world of sellouts, he wouldn’t even consider such treachery to his God. That’s how I want to be, and I hope that’s how you want to be. I’m getting chills just recalling that conversation in the dark of night, and it will forever live in my memory.
Why is it that more Christian men do not love biblical truth enough to live it out like Peter did, and see it as their duty to stand with God, even when the going gets tough in a culture spiraling downward? I suppose it’s because we sinners are comfortable and weak, and usually we care more about what others think as opposed to what the Lord says clearly in His Word. we
My friend Jim Finnegan, a pro-life stalwart and another of those old-timers who never had to be persuaded to fight a movement that glorifies sexual perversion as a “civil right,” had this to say about Peter Huizenga:
“A good and holy man. I had last seen him here in Naples [Florida] for a fund-raiser for [conservative Illinois gubernatorial candidate] Jeannie Ives against “Rotten Rauner” [Illinois’ socially liberal Republican governor, Bruce Rauner]. A huge loss for the pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-freedom of speech movement, and more. This one hurts.”
A huge loss, indeed, but now he has triumphed in passing on to paradise with Jesus. Peter, I will miss you. I wish I had a chance to say good-bye, but we will meet again. My condolences to Heidi, their four children, and the extended Huizenga family, whose existence is another lasting legacy of this very good man who touched the lives of so many others.
“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.”
Folks, here is Rev. Grace Harley’s speech at AFTAH’s June 26 “Repeal Obergefell” press event in front of the Supreme Court, to mark the three-year anniversary of the judicial travesty of the Obergefell “gay marriage” decision. Every day I am confronted by LGBTQ activists who insist that “sexual orientation” cannot be changed. And yet my friend Grace testifies to the opposite–saying [go to 4:25] that she hasn’t had a lustful sexual thought about women since her Christian conversion 26 years ago. Grace, like all of us, cannot change her skin color but she praises the Lord that through His grace and power she radically changed her sexual thoughts and disordered “transgender” lifestyle. (Her reference to the “MCC” is for the Metropolitan Community Church, a “gay activist” church catering to unrepentant homosexuals.)
