Twice Married, Now Homosexual: McGreevey’s Book Set To Launch with Oprah Interview

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

AFT’s correction to the revisionist history below: James McGreevey was not elected governor of New Jersey as an openly homosexual man; he was elected as a (twice) married man with two children.

Dropping a political bombshell, New Jersey Gov. James McGreevey announced his resignation Thursday after revealing that he is gay and that he had an adulterous affair with a man.

Let’s not forget McGreevey’s now ex-wife, Dina Matos, and two innocent young children whose heartbreak is willfully omitted from thought by those celebrating McGreevey’s new “gay” life. – Sonja Dalton

Excerpted from McGreevey Gay Gov. Book Set To Launch, published Sept 10, 2006, by Associated Press:

James E. McGreevey, the first openly gay governor in U.S. history, is set to launch a month-long national book tour Tuesday with the taping of the Oprah Winfrey show.

The show will be broadcast Sept. 19, the day McGreevey’s political memoir, The Confession,” hits bookstores.

Former Employees Sue Indiana Paper for Religious Discrimination

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Excerpted from Former Employees Sue Indiana Paper for Religious Discrimination, by Allie Martin, published Sept 7, 2006, by Agape Press:

Two former employees of a major metropolitan newspaper in Indiana are charging in a federal lawsuit that they were demoted and fired for their Christian beliefs.

James Patterson and Lisa Coffey worked for years on the editorial board of The Indianapolis News. They were transferred to the sister paper, The Indianapolis Star, when the News folded. But in a Title VII religious discrimination lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, Coffey and Patterson claim that, when the newspaper was bought by the Gannett publishing company, homosexual and pro-homosexual management were installed.

Both Coffey and Patterson had excellent performance reviews for years. But according to Coffey, she was demoted and he was eventually terminated because of their evangelical Christian beliefs…
“The Indianapolis Star has filed a motion to seal all information regarding the gay lifestyles of Star managers involved in this suit,” Coffey notes. “They’re calling it a trade secret, and they’re filing a motion to seal all that information to preclude us from even bringing this up as part of our testimony, which really is silly, because it’s the whole basis of our suit — that that’s the reason why we were forced out of the department.

Battle Over Gay Partner Benefits At Kentucky Universities

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Excerpted from Battle Over Gay Partner Benefits At Kentucky Universities, published Sept 12, 2006, by the pro-homosexuality 365Gay.com:

The University of Kentucky may follow the University of Louisville in offering health benefits to the same and opposite-sex domestic partners of its employees, but even if the plan is approved, it could be short lived…

Both schools say that without the benefit plans they are unable to attract the best faculty and researchers.

More than 300 colleges and universities nationwide already offer benefits to domestic partners.

Still conservative lawmakers are preparing to introduce legislation nullifying the Louisville benefits, thwart any attempt at UK and prevent other publicly funded colleges and universities from attempting the same thing.

Wal-Mart Hires Pro-Homosexual Marketing Firm

Tuesday, September 12th, 2006

Excerpted from Wal-Mart Partners With Gay and Lesbian Group, by Mya Frazier, published Aug 24, 2006, by American Family Association:

…Wal-Mart hired Witeck-Combs Communications, a marketing shop known for its work targeting the gay and lesbian consumer market, according to Bob Witeck, president of the Washington-based firm…

Founded in 1993, the eight-person agency’s client list boasts automotive brands Volvo, Land Rover, and Jaguar, in addition to American Airlines, Citigroup and at least a dozen nonprofits, such as the American Association of People with Disabilities.

Witeck-Combs, a member of the NGLCC, is also a participant in the organization’s supplier-diversity initiative, or SDI, a certification program launched this year and modeled after minority- and women-supplier development programs. Corporate participants already include IBM, American Airlines, Motorola and American Express.

Gay Walmart …As part of the Wal-Mart Stores partnership with the NGLCC, Dee Breazeale, VP-divisional merchandising, Sam’s Club Jewelry, has joined the organization’s Corporate Advisory Council and Wal-Mart will sponsor two of the organization’s annual conferences.

Mr. Nelson said Wal-Mart approached the organization four months ago, expressing interest in the supplier-diversity initiative. “The expectation is that Wal-Mart will encourage their core suppliers — the P&G’s, the Johnson & Johnson’s and the Gillette’s — to also diversify their revenue streams to include LGTB businesses,” Mr. Nelson said.

He said the retailer is “working right now on providing domestic-partnership benefits” and that Wal-Mart may soon join the 261 members of the Fortune 500 that offer the benefits.

The steps being taken by Wal-Mart are the strongest signal yet that the company may be taking a permanent stand on the side of gay rights…

Excerpted from NBA Great Charles Barkley Mulls Run For Ala. Gov., Supports Gay Marriage, by , published Sept , 2006, by the pro-homosexuality 365Gay.com:

“Religious people in general are so discriminatory against other people, and that really disturbs me,” he said. “My idea of religion is we all love and respect. We all sin, but we still have common decency and respect for other people. So right now I’m struggling with my idea of what religion is.”

He also said he supports gay marriage.

“I think if they want to get married, God bless them,” Barkley said. “Gay marriage is probably 1 percent of the population, so it’s not like it’s going to be an epidemic. Hey, trust me, I’m never going to kiss you and say, ‘Chris, you’re sexy.'”
