Linda Harvey is the Founder and President of Mission America, which focuses on homosexuality and its destructive impact on youth. Linda told LifeSiteNews.com she is a convert to Christianity and left her former life as a ‘liberal’ during which she was even a volunteer for Planned Parenthood. This message is primarily directed to Christian familiies and youth and is given from the perspective of a believer in traditional, authentic Christian moral and spiritual principles.

It may already be too late. As students return to school this fall, we are sadly reminded that the campaign to normalize homosexuality in their minds continues incessantly. But Christian kids will be okay, because they know it’s wrong. Or so we think.

It’s not necessarily so. What is your church doing to equip kids about this specific issue? Is there any time we are “suppressing the truth” through silence? How are we teaching them to deal with the onslaught of misinformation available to them everywhere, from what they believe are trustworthy sources?

There’s a lot at stake. Everyday, the following scenes are being played out in the lives of ordinary American kids:

• An emotionally vulnerable boy or girl is seduced into participating in homosexual acts by a peer or an older homosexual
• A confused young person dwells on and begins to believe privately he/she was “born” homosexual, after hearing it implied endlessly in our culture.
• An adolescent turns way from authentic Christian faith, becoming convinced the Bible’s message on homosexuality is hateful, primitive or an incorrect translation.
• A boy or girl wrongly advises a friend that it’s okay to be ‘gay’ and a Christian at the same time.
• A troubled teen believes a sex change would solve his or her problems, and begins to dress and act as the opposite sex.
• A curious, poorly supervised teen discovers, and becomes sexually aroused by, homosexual pornography on the Internet. He/she incorrectly concludes that such arousal reveals an inborn homosexual nature.

These aren’t the unchurched kids. We’re talking about the private interior lives of pre-teens and teens who are sitting in youth groups in Christian churches all over this country. They’re hearing one distorted message from the culture. The truth that could rescue them from the darkest and the most destructive of beliefs, concerns, and stresses over this issue, is a rare jewel, seldom revealed to them.

Homosexuality is secretly destroying the Christian faith of millions of teens, whether they are involved in the behavior or not, and adult Christians seem to be oblivious. Our silence spells the final spiritual death sentence for many of them.

If we are to save this generation, we must act now.

…San Diego City Councilman [Scott Peters] has refused to allow a group of Christian activists to present photographic documentation of children being exposed to sexual obscenities during a July, 2006 San Diego Gay Pride parade and festival.

…On July 25, 2006, it was Councilman Peters, along with lesbian Councilwoman Toni Atkins, who helped pass a city resolution declaring San Diego Gay Pride Week in the city. Peters and Atkins, along with Atkins’ lesbian sex partner Jennifer LeSar, rode together in that parade. During a Sept 12th Council meeting, Hartline and a team of thirty Christians attempted to show photographs of the parade that Peters participated in, but Peters proceeded to censor many of the photos and even attempted to block Hartline from speaking to the council on the issue altogether.

The city council video clearly shows Councilman Scott Peters telling Hartline, “I can’t allow you to put those pictures on television.” The pictures in question were taken at the San Diego Gay Pride Parade in which Councilman Peters not only issued a proclamation to honor, but personally rode in the parade along with fellow Councilwoman Toni Atkins. Additionally, sixteen different law enforcement agencies, as well as the Mayor of San Diego, were in the parade where the pictures were taken.

The president of the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association has come out swinging at “The Marketing of Evil” author David Kupelian, comparing those who oppose homosexuality on religious grounds with “white supremacists and other hate groups.”

In his latest “Message from the national president,” NLGJA’s national president Eric Hegedus discussed “homophobia” in news coverage – and in the process confirmed one of the many controversial assertions Kupelian made in “The Marketing of Evil.”

“In Chapter 1 of my book,” Kupelian said, “I reported how professional broadcast news journalists at a NLGJA event advocated that, when reporting on homosexual issues, journalists shouldn’t even bother to interview people holding to the traditional Judeo-Christian viewpoint. That is, rather than dignify the biblical viewpoint as worthy of inclusion by the press, it should be treated the same way the media treat the Ku Klux Klan.”

“Some people thought I was exaggerating,” said Kupelian. “Well, now the president of the organization is coming out and making it official: According to ‘gay’ members of the establishment press, when reporting on homosexuality journalists should just stop interviewing people like James Dobson or D. James Kennedy or any other traditionalist espousing a biblical perspective.”

And in April, Kupelian’s book was at the center of a national controversy when a Christian librarian at Ohio State University was formally investigated for “sexual harassment” just because he recommended the freshmen class be required to read “The Marketing of Evil.” The charges, instigated by two openly homosexual English professors, were dropped under threat of a lawsuit from the Alliance Defense Fund.

This Sunday, Kupelian will talk about “the marketing of homosexuality” on D. James Kennedy’s nationally broadcast television show, “The Coral Ridge Hour.” Kennedy, the world’s most-listened-to Presbyterian minister, is featuring Kupelian and “The Marketing of Evil” throughout September on the Sunday morning show. This week’s will be the last of four shows promoting the controversial best seller.

Wal-Mart has given its full endorsement to the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, will observe LGBT Diversity Week October 9–13. One of the sponsors for the Diversity Week is Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart is joining the Pleasure Boutique (an adult bookstore which bills itself as “Idaho’s largest selection of adult movies and DVDs and largest adult toy selection in Idaho”) and other groups in sponsoring the week. Diversity Week is a week of celebrating homosexuality and promoting the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage.

Among the events being sponsored by Wal-Mart is Idaho Votes No Campaign Update and Information Workshop. Voters in Idaho will be voting on a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage in November. This Wal-Mart sponsored event will inform voters how to oppose the amendment and how to get others to do so. Wal-Mart is putting their money behind the effort to legalize homosexual marriage.

Other events being sponsored by Wal-Mart: Gay History of Idaho, Diversity in the Workplace, Women’s/Lesbian Issues, Hate Based Crimes, Heterosexism, Homosexuality and Disabilities, LGBT Youth in Trouble, MCC-Faith and LGBT, and a youth dance for those age 24 and under.

The following is excerpted from Gay History Month Sparks District Debate, by Susan Snyder, published Sept 28, 2006, in The Philadelphia Inquirer:

…Gay and Lesbian History Month was added for the first time this year in an effort to be more inclusive and follow a long-standing district policy requiring equity for all races and minority groups, said Cecilia Cummings, the district’s senior vice president for communications and community relations. It is one of four special history months noted, along with Hispanic Heritage in September, African American in February, and Asian Pacific American in May.

Cummings said the district was not planning to roll out any districtwide curriculum or hold celebrations to coincide with the month, although individual schools with gay-straight alliances may have observances. The uproar in response to the calendar addition was not unexpected.

“We knew that this would be controversial,” Cummings said. “When you deal with diversity, there are some hot-button issues that emerge.”

…Cummings said that about 200,000 calendars had been sent … The publication is paid for by the district.

…The revised Montgomery County Public School curriculum — unveiled last month after months of revision work — has elicited new complaints from evaluators. Among the criticisms are concerns that gay students receive no specific information from a video on condom usage.

“It’s important to say something for those students so they have the information so they can stay safe,” said Jim Kennedy, co-founder of Teach the Facts, a coalition of Maryland parents and supporters of a gay-inclusive sex education curriculum.

Conservative groups, meanwhile, counter that the district should make no effort to “normalize anal sex.”

Dr. Ruth Jacobs of Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum said the curriculum should include a 2005 U.S. Surgeon General’s statement that “anal intercourse is simply too dangerous to practice.”

“The lesson normalizes oral and anal sex by presenting them without discussing their risks,” she said. “We should not normalize anal sex. Anal sex is risky behavior.”…

…Although the abuse happened years ago, the emotional wounds seemed fresh for the first victim who testified Tuesday. The Herald-Tribune does not publish the names of sex abuse victims without their permission.

That man, age 40, recalled that he was the No. 1 seed at a state swimming meet. The night before the meet, in Gainesville, LaMorte forced the victim to stay in his hotel room.

LaMorte abused him that night. Emotionally distressed, the swimmer’s dream of a state championship ended when he was disqualified for twice starting too soon.

“And I never swam again,” the man said.

The man said LaMorte would pull him out of classes to abuse him in the locker room. The victim said he never fought back or quit the swim team because he “didn’t know how to.”

Staring at LaMorte, the victim said he suffers alcohol abuse, has been violent and has strained relationships with his children…

…So here we go again. More tolerance, acceptance, and diversity -­ the holy writ of modern, post-Christian America. If Ms. Staplin is so keen on teaching her students “diversity and acceptance”, then how about a play about the life and beliefs of Columbine student Cassie Bernall who was shot for saying she believed in God? Her murderers weren’t particularly tolerant either.

The truth is that The Laramie Project is not really about diversity and acceptance. It’s about normalizing the homosexual lifestyle. The more kids hear about homosexuality (as if they aren’t sexualized enough these days), the more normal it seems. The gay lobby knows this. That’s why there is such a relentess public relations push for gay rights in all areas of public life…
