Sarah Palin, ‘Daddy’s Roommate’ and the Left’s Hypocrisy on ‘Book Banning’

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

daddys_roommate_in_bed.JPGTwo men in a sexual relationship is just “one more kind of love.” That’s the message that the homosexual picture book Daddy’s Roommate tells little children. While the Left loves accusing conservatives of “book banning,” America’s public libraries are far more likely to carry pro-homosexual books than those critical of homosexuality — including books written by ex-“gays.”

Americans For Truth News Release, Sept. 18, 2006

NAPERVILLE, Illinois – Americans For Truth President Peter LaBarbera today charged liberal activists with rank hypocrisy in accusing GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin of “book banning” because she or her constituents once expressed concerns about controversial books such as Daddy’s Roommate in the Wasilla Public Library.

“All the charges of book-banning and censorship of books like ‘Daddy’s Roommate’ obscure the Left’s role as the nation’s leading Institutional Censor in keeping traditional and faith-based books on homosexuality and other issues OUT of public libraries,” LaBarbera said.

Americans For Truth is readying the launch of its “Library Fairness Project” to correct the severe pro-homosexual book bias in local library collections nationwide. AFTAH will work with other organizations like PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays) to help citizens make requests to their local libraries to have balanced collections on homosexuality – i.e., parity between pro-homosexuality books and those opposed to the “gay” movement. The latter will include books by former homosexuals (“ex-gays”) – a subject despised by liberal, pro-gay activists intent on hiding the truth that many men and women have left that sinful lifestyle.

Ray Boltz Buys the Lie, Says God Made Him Homosexual

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Meanwhile, others credit God with helping them overcome homosexuality

ray_boltz_sells_out_god.jpgRay Boltz back when he was not publicly defying God’s Word. The Christian artist and father of four now says being homosexual “is the way God made me.”

By Peter LaBarbera

Last week, I was at the Family Research Council’s “Values Voter Summit” in Washington, D.C., where I was struck by how many former homosexuals I encountered in the space of a three day visit. I had breakfast with my good friend Jim, who is happily married and has left homosexuality so far behind that he told me he can barely believe that was how he once lived.

Then there was Anthony Falzarano, a veteran former homosexual who is out with a new book about his life, And Such Were Some of You. (Anthony — who has attended the funerals of many homosexual friends from his old life — was accompanied by his beautiful daughter Mary Victoria, who is alive today because he stopped living the “gay” lie.)

And I met Anthony Glover, an African American man whose road to overcoming homosexuality was solidified by a scary experience of almost committing sodomy with a homosexual man who was HIV-positive. (Yes, some homosexual men intentionally try to infect others with HIV.)

Also stopping at our Americans For Truth booth at the FRC summit was Grace Harley, a former (female-to-male) “transgender” who is now a Christian advocating for healthy change in Maryland.

Amidst all this, I picked up a copy of The Washington Blade, D.C.’s main homosexual newspaper, only to find a long story on former Christian Gospel singer Ray Boltz, who has sold out Jesus by embracing a false “gay” identity after living a life as a married family man. (Self-styled “queer” activists will say that Boltz was living a lie, but his four children do not owe their existence to a “gay” lifestyle.) I read the entire Blade story, but all you really need to know is in the final paragraph:

“This is what it really comes down to,” [Boltz] says. “If this is the way God made me , then this is the way I’m going to live. It’s not like God made me this way and he’ll send me to hell if I am who he created me to be … I really feel closer to God because I no longer hate myself.”

Wow, talk about presumption! This talented man is lost and he needs our prayers. Boltz may “feel” closer to God, but if you believe the Scriptures, he’s farther than ever from Him. We understand that the radical “gay” movement exalts its collective “feelings” over the Bible’s clear teaching — and certainly they are not alone in that regard — but each of us must choose between the truth and lies every day, and homosexual behavior is egregiously sinful, according to God’s Word. (See www.robgagnon.net if you are tempted to rationalize away the Bible’s clear condemnation of homosexual practice.) You just can’t sugarcoat that verdict, although these days even many Christians try.

PFOX: Help Place Ex-Gay Books in Your Local Library

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

preventing_homosexuality_amazon.JPG Amazon.com carries Joe Nicolosi’s book, A Parent’s Guide to Preventing Homosexuality; does your local library?

The following appeal was sent out by PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays). Americans For Truth will be working with PFOX and other pro-family groups and ministries to attain — at the very minimum — balance in the selections that libraries carry on the homosexual issue. There is no logical or common sense reason why taxpayer-funded public libraries should make available every latest “gay”-affirming book — including those designed to open up young minds to the false and dangerous notion that homosexuality is normal — while NOT carrying faith-based and ex-“gay” books that oppose a pro-homosexual ideology. — Peter LaBarbera

Ex-Gay Books in Your Library

Please ask your county, school, or city library to order ex-gay books. Many public libraries have book order forms on their website which allow you to request specific books for the libraries to buy. Most local libraries stock gay books, but not ex-gay books. According to the American Library Association, libraries cannot support censorship and a librarian’s professional code requires them to seek out books that represent a wide range of viewpoints. Below is a letter from a PFOX Dad on how to ensure that your local library is not censoring ex-gay books:

Dear Parents and Friends,

Good day to you all and thank you for taking the time to read this letter. It is of critical importance, not only to us as parents and friends, but to all the families that are affected by SAME SEX ATTRACTION (SSA) to get involved with helping others.

Recently, while looking at our public library website for something totally not related to SSA, my wife pointed out all the pro-gay information on the local library web site. After some diligent searching, it became apparent there was little to no information on unwanted SSA. Material on how homosexuality originates was absent. Any resources to help people overcome their SAME SEX ATTRACTION were also absent.

Family of Slain Homosexual Boy Larry King Blames School

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

The case of Larry King is a horrible tragedy, which homosexual activists have sought to exploit to crusade for “hate crimes” laws. Now the victim’s parents are complicating the GLBT Lobby’s campaign; if they succeed, it will send a message to schools everywhere not to pander to politically correct activism on “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.” –Peter LaBarbera

Ventura, Calif. (AP) – The family of a gay teenager who was fatally shot in class blames the school district for allowing their son to wear makeup and feminine clothing to school – factors the family claims led to the death.

The parents and brother of 15-year-old Larry King of Oxnard filed a personal injury claim against the Hueneme school district seeking unspecified damages for not enforcing the dress code.

King, an eighth-grader at E.O. Green Junior High School, was shot in February. Classmate Brandon McInerney pleaded not guilty to the shooting last week. He was charged as an adult and also faces a charge of a committing a hate crime.

The family’s claim, filed last week in Ventura County Superior Court, said administrators and teachers failed to enforce the school’s dress code when King wore feminine clothing and makeup to school.

His parents, Dawn and Gregory King, said faculty members knew their son had “unique vulnerabilities” and was subject to abuse because of his sexual orientation.

CWA: LISTEN ONLINE: San Diego ‘Gay Pride’ Makes For Bad ‘Gay Parenting’

WARNING: GRAPHIC — AFTAH reporters troubled by many children exposed to homosexuality celebration

sd-pride-exhibitionist-blocked-nudity.JPGGAY SHAME DAY? Do homosexuals have special rights on “pride” days to engage in public indecency and other illegal behaviors? This exhibitionist running a booth in the pornographic “Freedom Zone” at the recent San Diego Gay Pride festival was masturbating and playing with himself in public as people looked on. No security officials were called in to stop him in the roughly half hour AFTAH reporters were there as he continued to fondle himself. (The Freedom Zone — it was actually called the “Freedom Xone,” suggesting its pornographic content — was blocked off from the rest of the festival area by black plastic divider walls.) Look for further photos on San Diego “gay pride” in the coming days. CLICK HERE to listen online to an interview by CWA’s Martha Kleder with Peter LaBarbera of AFTAH. Gay Pride and Parenting

Concerned Women for America, July 24, 2008 —

Efforts to enact same-sex “marriage” across the nation have also bolstered the number same-sex couples seeking to parent children. Peter LaBarbera, President of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, just returned from California where he attended San Diego’s “gay’ pride festival. What he saw there was nearly the same level of public displayed perversity but this time with an increasing number of children in attendance. He spoke with CWA Policy Analyst Martha Kleder about what he saw. Listen | Download

North Carolina Pro-Family Coalition Turns Back Pro-Gay ‘Anti-Bullying’ Bill

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

students_raising_hands.jpgSchools can protect all students from abuse and harassment without promoting homosexuality and gender confusion.

The campaign for passing an anti-bullying law was stopped in its tracks by concerned citizens of North Carolina in the final days of the short session of the NC General Assembly last week.

Fayetteville-based Donna Miller, Americans For Truth’s Special Projects Director and a leader for CWA (Concerned Women for America)-NC, coordinated an effort in her county to alert members between CWA-NC and the NC Federation of Republican Women of the impending legislation.

C-SPAN to Televise Donnelly’s Testimony on Gays in the Military

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

elaine_donnelly.jpgTAKE ACTION: Call your U.S. Congressman and Senators (House: 202-225-3121; Senate: 202-224-3121) or e-mail them and voice your opposition to opening up the armed forces to open homosexuality — a misguided proposition anytime but especially during a time of war. From the Center for Military Readiness:

July 22, 2008

C-SPAN television network will televise tomorrow’s hearing on gays in the military before the House Armed Services Personnel Subcommittee.

CMR President Elaine Donnelly and Brian Jones, a former Army Sergeant Major, Ranger and Delta Force soldier will testify tomorrow in support of the 1993 law stating that homosexuals are not eligible to serve in the military. The Center will provide new information about the consequences of repealing the 1993 law, which is frequently mislabeled “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and will address the implications of taking the so-called “civil rights” argument to its logical conclusions. CMR also will refute all of the usual arguments raised by homosexual activists who want to impose their agenda on the military. All Washington area Friends of CMR, their families and other supporters are strongly encouraged to attend.

WHO: Elaine Donnelly, President, Center for Military Readiness
Sergeant Major Brian Jones, USA (Ret.), Former Army Special Operations

Belz to Christians: Stop Apologizing for Single Issue Advocacy

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

now-lesbian-activism.jpgNew Jersey NOW activists demonstrate for lesbian so-called “marriage”: there is no shortage of single-minded (non-apologetic) pro-homosexuality and pro-abortion activists on the Left.

Below is an excellent column by Joel Belz, founder of WORLD magazine, answering some of the current Christian gibberish critical of believers who fight for Truth in the public square. (Click HERE for the full column in WORLD.) While we’re at it, here are 20 more good reasons why Christians (or anyone) should never feel guilty about a single-minded focus in countering the homosexual/transsexual activist and pro-abortion lobbies:

  1. Human Rights Campaign (largest pro-homosexual PAC);
  2. National Gay and Lesbian Task Force;
  3. Lambda Legal;
  4. NARAL Pro-Choice American (formerly National Abortion Rights Action League, which cruelly defends even later-term abortions).
  5. GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation;
  6. GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network);
  7. NOW (they manage to promote both lesbianism and abortion-on-demand);
  8. MTV (obnoxious in its one-sided promotion of homosexuality, bisexuality, etc.);
  9. Soulforce and other Bible-twisting, “queer theology”-promoting groups;
  10. Radical, reason-challenged, pro-homosexual websites like young Jeremy Hooper’s Good As You blog, Wayne (“Anything But Straight”) Besen’s ‘ex-gay’-hating Truth Wins Out, and lesbian Pam (“Jeebus”) Spaulding’s Pam’s House Blend;
  11. National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association;
  12. EMILY’s List (a pro-abortion PAC)
  13. Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (working to open up the military to homosexuals);
  14. ACLU’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Project;
  15. Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.)
  16. Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI)
  17. Tim Gill (homosexual money-man)
  18. Pro-homosexual activist groups like Equality Illinois fighting in all 50 states for radical legislation that undermines marriage;
  19. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi
  20. PFLAG (Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians & Gays), a radical pro-homosexual group.

Belz writes for WORLD:

Stop Apologizing!
It’s not always wrong to be a “single-issue” advocate

It’s become an increasingly frequent reminder to us evangelical Christians not to let our cultural identity be framed by “single issues.”
